Ashli Belle Kaine has spent what seems like a lifetime tucked away in a box. One Christmas, her life is flipped upside down not of her own doing, yet she must face the consequences. Once freed, she vows to enjoy her holiday season and forget her horrible past and the dreams it took from her.
Avi Kole has experienced tragedy, leaving his heart colder than it has ever been. The single father isn't big on the holidays, but when he meets Ashli, something inside of him shifts.
Passion ignites between these two, not only for each other but for life. 'Tis the season for passion in Avi and Ashli's world. Will they make it a beautiful one, or will insecurities and fear threaten the spark lit within them?
There was so much wrong with this book, that I found it really hard to enjoy it. It was just page after page of inconsistencies and questionable timelines. The pacing was so fast that, if you blinked, you missed it. The storyline jumped ahead nine years within a paragraph. The author doesn’t even acknowledge the time jump. You only know it’s nine years later because, the character’s ages have changed. One minute Ashli is changing the channel on the TV in jail and, the next minute, she's standing in front of a mirror at her parent’s house talking to her sister. Scratches head because, I was real confused. When the hell did she get out of jail?!!! And, since when do prisoners ger access to the remote control in jail?!!! I’m still not understanding how Ashli’s age was calculated. She was 22 when she got arrested but, she’s 26 when she was released from jail seven years later?!!! The math ain’t mathin’. The author didn’t know what profession she wanted Dakari to have. He was a doctor in chapter one but, by the time I got to chapter seven, he’d moved on to becoming an engineer. The reintroduction of Huney could’ve been left out. All she did was leave us with more questions than answers. At one point, Ashli had Eryn’s middle name. Again, scratches my head and questions myself, “I thought her middle name was Belle?!!!” There was clearly no research done on what constitutes a federal offense. Dee was locked up in federal prison for aggravated assault. No one does fed time for assault. They get their azz locked up in state or county prison. I said all of that to say, this book read like it was rushed. It truly felt like the author wanted to release this book before the end of the year so, she just threw some shyt together and didn't put a whole lot of thought into it. Listen, I would much rather you give me a holiday book in January or, hell, even in February as oppose to giving me any ole thing in December. Tis The Season for Passion just wasn’t up to par and it’s sad because, this book had so much potential.
I really enjoyed this story…but it felt incomplete….I enjoyed the development of Avi & Ashli’s relationship…and her loving relationship with AJ…but, to me there were things left out. Like why did Huney treat AJ so badly, where was the son? Just to name a few things….there are other questions I have regarding this story.
As a fan of M. Monique I was excited to dive into this holiday read. There were a few things I enjoyed about Avi and Ashli. I loved how Avi knew from the very beginning what he wanted and that was Ashli. They crossed paths at the club while she was out enjoying her first taste of freedom after serving 7 years in prison for a crime she didn’t commit. What was meant to be a one night stand, turned into a soulful connection neither of them could shake. I loved the strong bond amongst the families as well.
There were some inconsistencies in the story that made it confusing at times. Ages and timelines changed making it challenging to connect certain dots. I’m still very much confused by Avi’s ex wife and the role she played in this story. Why did she fake her death? She lied claiming to be in witness protection then just randomly shows up 10 years later…. I don’t understand why she resurfaced after all these years. Her return offered no closure. It was clear she had a strong disdain for Avi and AJ so why not leave well enough alone. What role did she play in Avi’s arrest? The whole scene after the wedding went in one big circle and I had no more clarity on the situation than before. Another thing that took away from the story was Ashli’s seesaw behavior. I totally understood her apprehension with giving Avi a chance but once she decided to let her guard down, the same reservations kept resurfacing. One day she didn’t trust his past and in the very next breath she was in love and he was her forever then moments later it was I know nothing about you. Girl pick a side. She hopped the fence of doubt every other page so when you were finally enjoying the story and their love connection she was right back with the uncertainty. We also didn’t get to enjoy them as a couple. The story went from him chasing her to a wedding. I think we got 1 date and the trip to North Carolina. Neither of which was enough to establish this deep love that the author tried to convey. I feel in an effort to keep the story short a few parts were rushed. Had this been a full novel I believe it would have been really enjoyable and a complete story.
Some dates did not match Huney's situation, AJ's age, or Avi's. I knew Huney would return from the dead, just like characters in the old Soap opera tv shows. Otherwise, the story was just okay. Avi was all about Ashli, and he meant what he said.
Listen! Avi knew from first sight that he was getting and keeping Ashli. My very favorite part was the pull up with family to support. I'm so glad Avi handled his business for his lady because she really lost 7 years of her life, but in the words of Avi, she took 7 years to find herself. Everything is purposed. And that's a message for everyone. M Monique hasn't written a man I don't love yet. Great quick read!
Ashli got railroaded and spent seven years behind bars. Now all she wants is to get her life back, keep men out of her heart so they don't get her into trouble (again), but first? Maybe let one give her an orgasm. The man she picks to do the honors is Avi Kole, and she definitely gets more than a one night stand.
Okay, watching Avi crash out behind Ashli was funny, I'm not gonna lie. He was borderline stalking her, but he didn't want to hurt her and I found myself begging Ashli right along with him, lol. Give our boy a chance! Lol. The relationship with AJ was one of the best parts of the book. I love the way M. Monique does stepparents. She makes sure they fall in love with the kids FIRST. It was fast paced, as I expected and as it was supposed to be, but still really romantic and passionate. I love the way Avi never lost his cool. He just pushed forward every time there was a setback and didn't let anything deter his focus. I also loved the way he stood up for Ashli and made it his business to get restitution for what she endured, even if she didn't know it. Ashli being a writer spoke right to me, and I loved how she bounced back, and never forgot her girls when she got to the outside. Good holiday story.
Hmmm 🤔, I didn’t believe this story. But, it was an entertaining & interesting melodrama ! “Tis the Season for Passion: Avi & Ashli” was three story nestled into one novella. Avi, the converted Mack daddy, the cool & relatable father & thug by proxy entrepreneur🤨🥴🫣🤦🏾♀️. Foremost, at twenty-three, “Pace, Nick & Rudy had been through the trenches with Avi.” But, Avi doesn’t know Huney was pregnant nor suspect he’s was not the father of baby #2?…neither did Nick or Rudy suspect Pace either 🥴?…There’s the other issues in this ten year timeline too, but hey just let it fly at this point 🤷🏾♀️‼️ Meanwhile, what’s the likelihood (should have been) of a “tap & go/hit it & quite it/one night stand” encounter enchants a millionaire suitor into “in love at first glance”? …🤨🥴🙄 If this novella was just about Avi & Ashli’s love journey, okay I guess? However, it implied so much more but didn’t meet expectations. Avi, “everyone who played a part in trying to ruin my woman’s life had to pay. …” but Avi you talk a good game of intimidation, but you’ve actually done nothing! Huney, still alive…Pace, die, Cevonté, you pointed a gun. REALLY ‼️…Talk is cheap🤨🤬‼️
I’m glad that I’m not the only one that thought this book was lackluster and also confusing…I truly have no firm grasp on how old Ashli is…She was in the feds for 7 years, got out when she was 26 but completing a nursing degree when she was 19…😐 and wtf her damn name kept changing every chapter…after a while it was making me laugh because I assume her name was supposed to be Noelle to follow the Christmas theme but Belle started being used and I was confused…the Huney/ Pace/Dakari/Nick/judge subplot was also kind underwhelming as none of them were fully fleshed out to make me care…I do love a delulu MMC though
It's another hit for me. Avi and Ashli perfect couple. With Ashli doing that 7 year bid in jail and not a tear escaping her she's a baddie for sure. Her not wanting to trust dude's after what happened to her I absolutely understand. Avi's persistence was commendable. He didn't take no for an answer and honestly I liked it. His relationship with his son was also amazing and I love the relationship it's fun formed with Ashli. Honey's ghetto triflin ass showing back up And on their wedding day at that, I really want it to swing on that hos cause like all of that for what... I loved all of the side characters ad well🥰🥰
This author delivers every time with the most alpha alpha male and a strong heroine. The story was immediately engaging and you felt both the devastating sadness of loss whether it was time or life of someone in your life. The coldness of both Avi and Ashli made sense until love decided otherwise. Their chemistry was immediate and their courtship was unusual and yet their pairing was authentic and purely intimate. This book contined the right amount of drama and suspense. I am so glad to read another one from this author and looking forward to reading more.
Not the biggest fan of holiday stories but I couldn’t put this one down
M.Monique hasn’t written a book that I haven’t liked. I was wondering why the son didn’t feel anything about his Mother’s death. AJ knew the whole time his mother was alive. Huney didn’t love Avi at all…I’m so glad Avi applied pressure and married Ashli. It was crazy because she tried he best to avoid him. After doing 7 years for something she didn’t do she truly deserved her happy ending. I couldn’t put this book down.
My only real complaint is that we really don’t get to see Ashli and Avi as a couple. They hook up, and then Avi has to pursue Ashli to be with him. It’s sixty-something percent before they’re really together. Ashli’s relationships with people other than Avi’s people could be better since she’s spent seven years in jail. There’s more on the page interaction with Avi’s son than her own nephews.
Once Avi saw Ashli he was relentless! I like AJ and his relationship with his dad! Ashli gave Avi a run for his money because of what took her freedom away, but she was somewhat aggravating!
For some reason Ashli middle name kept changing in every chapter delegated to her.
The end had me slightly confused though! I’ve read it several times to make sure I understood the situation with Nick! The other individual I understood though!
If passion make you feel like that I want it! Crazy how he told that b!tch to sit down so he could kiss his bride. Aint no way she showed up to try and ruin something she had but chose to play a game. Crazy part why comeback if you weren't going to show your full hand. Oh will Avi and Ashli got what they both needed. AJ got the mother figure he wanted and needed. That's all that matters.
For sure this is my favorite, I loved everything about this book.
Avi definitely was addicted and he knew he was going to get his woman. Ashli she tried to fight it but woman you can’t fight fate. But Ashli really got on my nerves, like I know you were just but dang take a chance 🙄🤦🏾♀️🙄. So how you end the book like that 😱😱. That plot twist has me wanting more. I need little AJ’s book so I can’t get a glimpse of what’s going on 🤣🤣🤣.
This story was sooo goood. Mostly because of Avi, his son, and the crew. I thought Ashli (love the spelling of her name) was going to be a beast. To a degree she was but then she lost some cool points with me 8n certain area. I liked her but she kind of disappointed me too in some ways. Avi is so bae. Like his energy is so boss. His son is going to something else too. Glad he had Rudy and Nick to have his back. Read this story.
OMG!!! This is why you are part of my top 3 authors out there… thank you 🙏
This right is what one need to remember how some authors just make you feel good, alive and just hopeful that all will and is well in the world. The way this author writes, whatever you have going on in your life, I can GUARANTEE that reading a MS. Monique books will get you out of your funk, no matter what…. I can’t stay nothing regarding this book except that: 1) I needed more, 2) I will be rereading this for sure and 3) GET IT!!! You will not regret it…
This one right here!!!! So many unexpected little twists and wrapped up in 1 book! I really liked all of the characters. I could use a little follow-up on Rudy and his boo. I feel like there is a storyline there The angle of the woman being the one to do jail time was really unique. I love how Avi's status was established but not overdone with constant references to designer and luxury items. Ashli wasn't instantly persuade and I love that for her.
This is one of my least favorites by M.Monique. I did love AJ he was probably the best part of the book. The rest of the book kind of fell short in building the connection between Avi and Ashli. It was way too insta love and I would have love to see more character development especially with Ashli just getting out of prison for a long time. She didn’t have time to adjust before Avi basically suffocated her with love.
Avi saw Ashli in the club with her twin sister and was instantly drawn to her. There eyes met and Ashli was too afraid to continue staring at the handsome stranger. Avi came over to her and offered her a night she wouldn’t forget. Ashli became addicted to Avi but she refused to give in until age couldn’t anymore! A good read!
M. Monique if has a gift for writing about the type of black men , you would trade your mama for! Avi is so strong, commanding, and full of sex appeal. Ashli is not looking for love , she tried it and it cost her 7 years of her life . Avi makes it business to make Ashli understand she is the one him Avi and his son. Fantastic read from start to finish!!
Out of the 10 books in the series that I read so far this one is my favorite... To say Avi loved her is an understatement... He loved her all the way to between her toes.. The passion between them was everything I could have asked for... Thank you for such a excellent story
M. Monique did it again. I loved the characters especially Ashli. She a a thick wall put up around her heart because of all the mess she had been through. She was hard on Avi but he wore her down and showed her true love. I was really pulling for those two. Glad everything worked out. Great read👍🏿
I loved everything about this 📚 book!! The characters, the plot, Avi with all that BDE, Avi and Ashli’s chemistry🔥💦😈 and all the love Ashli had!!! I don’t know who feel first and the hardest Big or Lil Avi🤷🏽♀️😂. By far one of the best Holiday reads. 👍🏽👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tis the Season series has been some of my favorites this year. Ashli's fresh out of prison behind a man she thought she loved. So now her guard is up. Avi is street entrepreneur turned legit. Once Avi sees her he has to have her. They have a little cat and mouse game going only they are playing for hearts. If you are looking for a holiday read I highly recommend this one M. Monique doest miss!
A I gave a new meaning to passion and I was here for step by step. I understood Ashli’s hesitation, but Avi Sr and Jr wasn’t having it!! Knew I loved this when at page 90, I had 2 different scenarios on how I would have the storyline play out!! Hopefully there will be a Valentine’s follow up!!!!!
M Monique this book was a Great Read. I loved the passion and love Avi and Ashli shared. I smiled every time I was turning a page. I love reading your books. There was drama, excitement, camaraderie, backstabbing and karma in this book if you like reading about those things I would definitely recommend you read this book…
Why are people so sel centered? It’s crazy how Avi’s ex (Huney) faked her death then went and had another baby by one of his best friends. Huney thought she was doing something showing up on Avi and Ashli’s wedding day but haha the joke was on her. Avi kept it moving and married the love of his life. Good read.
