In this delightful box set, an earl, a duke, and a marquess make a spontaneous bet that they can pass as servants at the most exclusive house party of the season… but they don’t count on finding love!
Book One: The Footman and I
Every fortune-hunting female in London is after the newly titled Earl of Kendall, but he’s intent on finding a wife whose heart is true. So, while drunkenly jesting with his friends in a pub one night, he has an idea—what if the ladies of the ton didn’t know he was a wealthy earl? All he has to do is pose as a servant at his friend’s summer country house party and make sure the guest list is full of beautiful, eligible debutantes. What could possibly go wrong?
Book Two: Duke Looks Like a Groomsman Rhys Sheffield, the Duke of Worthington, has bet his friends an ungodly sum of money that despite his loftiness, he can pass himself off as a servant at the house party of the Season. But when his clever ex-flame arrives and recognizes Rhys in the stables pretending to be a groomsman, she realizes it’s the perfect opportunity to pay him back for breaking off their engagement.
Book Three: The Valet Who Loved Me All of London knows Beau Bellham as the Marquess of Bellingham, but only a trusted few know he also works for the Home Office. His specialty? Scouting out traitors to the Crown. So, when one of his friends pretends to be a footman at a house party in order to find a wife, Beau decides posing as a valet at the same gathering will be the perfect cover for him to spy on the men he suspects of treason. What Beau doesn’t count on, however, is butting heads with a far-too-certain-of-herself maid who gives him hell at every turn.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I absolutely loved all 3 books. Lucas, Ryhs, Bell and Clayton made me laugh and even feel included in their friendship even when they were plotting the most ridiculously hilarious plan to get Kendall married off. Frances, Julianna and Marianne are the best ladies! Frances, Julianna and Marianne are both so smart and dont feel ashamed to do 'controversial' things (show interest in politics, horses and spies?). I cant express how much i love them all. Perfect pairings all around. I cried at the epiloge and im so happy the ladies became friends! Amazing books and will definitely be reading more Valerie Bowman books!!
I’d give this 5 stars based on the plots and relationships but there are so many non-Regency slip ups (eg milk bottles weren’t yet invented), etiquette errors, and non-British howlers (eg the ubiquitous “stoop”; and “groomsman” even appears in one of the titles despite the word having everything to do with American weddings and nothing to do with British stables) that they are badly spoilt.
I was repeatedly taken out of the stories, or just annoyed to the point where I wasn’t sure if I could be bothered to read on.
I’d dearly love to edit these stories properly as they’d be superb with a bit of work.
I really enjoyed these stories. In a way, they stand alone but really you need to read each one to find how each story is linked to the initial prequel tale. There are aristocrats pretending to be in service, parents trying to arrange marriages of convenience and spies trying to capture traitors. How are they all intertwined? All is revealed in the last part of the set but read on and enjoy each book as well.
I really enjoyed this collection of the first 3 books in this series. Each story is cleverly written and all 3 join together really well. I like the way our three heroes are at the house party for very different reasons. All 3 men find their true love when disguised as someone else. Interesting characters and plots in each story. Love them.
Be!!, Lord Bellingham is a spy pretending to be a blast to catch a traitor at his friends house party. But a young lady's maid intrigues him with her suspicions.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked these books. But, they are very formulaic and predictable. The first ends with a grand gesture, which is always sweet. All three men are angst-ridden over having fallen in love and don’t know how to deal with having driven their ladies away. So if that’s your thing, these are well-written and cute.
