Cynthia Woolf is the USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author of eighty-nine works of romance fiction. Comprising sixty-seven historical western romances, sixteen contemporary romances, and six sci-fi space opera romances, which she calls westerns in space. Along with these books, she has also published twelve boxed sets of her books and two short stories.

Cynthia loves writing and reading romance. Her first western romance, Tame A Wild Heart, was inspired by the story her mother told her of meeting Cynthia's father on a ranch in Creede, Colorado. Although Tame A Wild Heart takes place in Creede, that is the only similarity between the stories. Her father was a cowboy, not a bounty hunter, and her mother was a nursemaid (called a nanny now), not the ranch owner.

Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband, Jim, and her great critique partners for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.

The book was quite good. It didn't have your typical cowboy romance and that was making it different. To be honest, I love cowboy romances and I prefer them short, like this book.

We had the chance to read both POV from Shavon and Brody, which makes us understand them better. The children were awfully cute and a nice add up to the story 😊.

Even though I like short romances I still wanted the book to be a bit longer, so we can see more of Shavon and Brody.

A sweet romance that pulls you in for the very first page!

She was left with her baby niece, when her sister was killed by her husband. Determined to start anew, she travels to the B & B that was left to her by her grandmother. A place with fond memories from childhood, she and her sister would visit every year.

Working on repairing the home and getting it ready to open to the public, he and his son stay there until all is done. He has a secret, but does not want to disclose it to her.

An instant attraction looks promising and it the two kids get along famously! But both have are slow to trust due to their past and she does not like secrets.

Can these two find a future? A wonderful surprise from this author who writes historical, which I love, is this great contemporary that will only win your heart!

4.5 Stars for Her Secret Cowboy Billionaire.
Cynthia Woolf is a fairly new author to me and honestly after reading Shavon Montgomery and Brody James story, I’m left wondering why she hasn’t crossed my radar long ago.
Shavon is starting a new life with her orphaned 18 month old niece, she leaves everything behind when she moves to Twin Buffs, Montana to start afresh in the old Victorian mansion she inherited from her great grandmother. She plans to build a new life and open a bed and breakfast in the mansion but there’s work to ge done befor that can happen.
Brody has been hired by the housekeeper to make a start on the renovations before Shavon arrives and she has also given Brody and his 5 year old son Davy a room to stay in. From the moment Brody and Shavon meet there is an instant connection but this couple have been burnt in the past and one of them is also hiding secrets so will they find happiness and a future with each other or will the past and the secrets ruin any chance they have of happiness…….
A beautifully written romance that I highly recommend, this story has all the feels, it has wonderful characters who you will adore, it’s emotional yet witty but it’s two little children who at times steal the show that for me took this book to another level. Looking forward to reading more by this very talented author.

I know it was heartbreaking for Shavon to learn that her sister was killed by her abusive husband. Shavon immediately leaves her attorney job to raise Georgie her sister’s 18 month old baby. I know she made the right decision to move back to Montana to her grandmother’s mansion to raise Georgie. I don’t if Shavon knew how much work she would need to turn the mansion into a B & B, but that was her dream. The wonderful house keeper Grace kept that house going and everyone on their toes. Grace had hired Brody to paint some murals and other carpentry work. She even gave Brody and his five year old son Davy a room to stay in. I loved seeing Davy and Georgie together. Davy was great with Georgie and Georgie loved Davy. Some woman named Angela was stalking Brody and driving him crazy. She was a little off. Shavon had an ex that stole money from her and kept secrets and was very explicit that she didn’t want anyone to keep secrets from her. Unfortunately Brody had a big secret, but felt justified to keep it from Shavon. The two kept growing closer together, but there was some trouble for the two of them that got exciting. I enjoyed the book and encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

This was a good read, but I never really felt the chemistry between Brody and Shavon. He seemed more into her, and quickly, then she ever did with him. I loved little Davy and Grace was a great character as well.
I seem to be the minority in my feelings, so I recommend you try the book for yourself and see how you like it. This was my first book from the author but I’ll give her another try.

This was a cute story …. I wish it had a little more. It was definitely giving me slow burn vibes. Did not see the plot twist coming. I didn’t like the writing style at all. I wish I would have felt more chemistry from the couple.

BRODY AND SHAVON (4.5 *)

The story is a clean contemporary western that will bring two people together and eventually develop into a relationship. The story will take place in the small town of Twin Bluffs, Montana, about ten miles from Bozeman.

Shavon Montgomery has left her life in Chicago as a defense attorney, and along with her toddler niece, Georgina ‘Georgie’ Vinson, will be moving to what had been her Great-grandmother’s home. This mansion had been in the family since around the 1863 gold strike in Virginia City in the Montana Territory. The mansion was ten bedrooms, designed for a house full of children, but they were only blessed with one, Ben, who married Nora, and again, only one daughter, Estelle, born later in life. The estate was to go to Shavon and Sophie—but with the murder-suicide of Sophie and Bruce, it is now Shavon and her niece, Georgie.

The story’s plot will have Shavon and Georgie leaving everything behind and planning to begin a new venture in life, turning the family mansion into a bed and breakfast. Shavon won custody of Georgina and gave up her career as an attorney. She discovers from Grace, who lived and took care of the home for Nora, that she has allowed the carpenter, Brody, and his son, Davy, to live in the house while he is doing work and having his home built too. When Shavon sees the nursery that Brody painted for Georgie, she believes in his work and can’t wait to see what he can do for the rest of the rooms. The connection between Georgie and Davy is sweet, how he takes to the little girl and teaches her new words, playing with her too.

The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly of humanity. I loved the chemistry between Shavon and Brody; it is immediate but cautious. Both have been hurt and still dealing with the pain and heartache of secrets, lies, and betrayal. They want to take the friendship slowly and not rush things.

“You’ll find the right one with electricity. It will pulse between you like lightning on a clear day.”

Brody has his secrets, which he keeps private, wanting to protect his son, which will become an issue between him and Shavon. Secrets are how her relationship with her fiancé started before things went wrong—and she tells him from the beginning how she feels about secrets. Trouble is afloat with an over-bearing buckle bunny from his rodeo days, and she can’t let things go. The problems with her will play a significant role in this tale.

The story is a mystery, suspense, danger, life and death, secrets, painful memories, and betrayal. It will reveal a past crime and new issues that will play out. Overall, the story is a page-turner, even with some over-the-top situations.

DNF. Poorly written and doesn’t match the plot.

When Shavon’s sister is murdered and her grandmother dies not long after, she takes her baby neice to live in her grandmothers mansion. It started on a bad note for me as the author points out several times that Shavon doesn’t take anything from her sisters house, as she doesn’t want anything. WHAT ABOUT PHOTOS OF HER SISTER FOR HER BABY? They come from a wealthy family does she have any jewellery that she can pass onto her neice? There’s so many things she could have got but didn’t.

When she gets to her new home she meets Brody who has been hired as a handyman by her housekeeper and his young son who live in her house. It’s bizarre as she’s never met Brody or spoke to him and he’s been working on her house, and living there to do it up as a guesthouse. Why does a billionaire need to live in her house?

This is where the book doesn’t match the plot at all. Shavon ‘hates’ liars as her sister lied to her. NO SHE DIDN’T! Her sister told her that her husband was beating her, she didn’t go right into details but Shavon was very aware about him, and his abuse. Then there’s the supposed ‘lie’ that Brody doesn’t tell Shavon he’s a billionaire. He’s not lied about his money situation and very obviously has a lot, with the house that he’s building, the $10 thousand that he pays at the bachelor auction for his own date, his truck that has custom built leather seats. I could go on but as a defence lawyer she must be able to deduce that he’s extremely wealthy!

After their initial meeting it jumps forward a week to Shavon and Brody going to a bar gelid auction. It just skins through it. After the auction it jumps forward again and they’re all going out on a date. It’s so rushed and I couldn’t see them as a couple. Apart from a couple of lingering looks where Shavon acts like a blushing Victorian lady, NOTHING HAPPENS!

Sorry it’s written terribly. Too many things don’t add up and it’s a shame.

This is Cynthia Woolf’s first contemporary book, and it is fantastic. The story is skillfully written with independent, realistic and loveable characters. It also includes two darling kids who will melt everyone’s heart. Her story also includes intrigue which will appeal to any romantic suspense reader.

You will love Shovan and her niece, 18-month old Georgi. She is a very independent lawyer who fights hard to gain guardianship of her niece after her sister is murdered. She is a realistic, three-dimensional character, with a kind and loving personality. She treats her niece as if she were her own daughter. She has just moved back home to Twin Bluff, a small town in Montana, where she plans to build a Bed and Breakfast from the mansion she inherited from her grandmother.

Brody is the perfect match for Shovan. He is independent, realistic, and a kind and loving father to his 5-year old son Davy. Brody is a carpenter who is helping Shovan to refurbish her Bed and Breakfast. The interaction between Davy and the two children will make any woman fall in love with his character.

The plot is entertaining and fun as the couple interacts with each other and the children.
I also love the suspense in this book. The villain is the type that every romantic suspense reader loves to hate!

I love that, in this story, Shovan and Brody are sexually attracted to each other. But, in this story, the sexual attraction is skillfully done through looks, words and soft kisses. I also like that there are no curse words. In spite of that, the story is not “cheesy.”

I still love Cynthia Woolf’s historical books. However, this contemporary story is proof Cynthia Woolf’s books will fit very nicely into the contemporary genre!

A very enjoyable read. Secrets are never good. Somehow, they always come out sooner or later. Shavon hates secrets. She lost her sister and is now raising her 18-month-old niece because of the secrets her sister kept and Shavon never knew about her abusive brother-in-law. She also broke her engagement to a man who kept secrets from her.
But sometimes secrets are kept because of the potential damage they could inflict on someone else. Brody was a billionaire but kept it a secret. To everyone he was a retired rodeo cowboy and a carpenter. He wanted nothing to do with the “family business.” He was happy and content being a carpenter. His real passion was being an artist, but his mother once told him he would never make enough money and be able to live on what little money he would make selling his work and not be able to support himself. Brody felt he had to protect his son by not revealing who he really was. He kept his identity a secret not from malicious reasons. He did not hurt anyone by not telling people who he was. He wanted people to accept him for who he was deep down not for the size of his bank account.
But will Shavon understand why he kept it a secret or will she just assume that secrets are bad no matter the reason and therefore no trust. How can she be with a man she cannot trust? This was my first book by Cynthia Woolfe and a very enjoyable read.

I had such a nice time reading Her Secret Cowboy Billionaire. It was one of those books that was easy to settle into, with a sweet romance, a charming small town setting, and just enough suspense to keep me turning the pages.

Chevon's story really pulled at my heart. After everything she'd been through, I wanted to see her find happiness again. Brody was such a likable hero kind, dependable, and someone who genuinely cared about the people around him. Their relationship developed at a comfortable pace, and I enjoyed watching their trust grow despite the secrets between them.

The Montana setting and the renovation of the old Victorian mansion made the story feel warm and inviting. I also liked that there was a bit of mystery woven into the romance, which kept me curious about what would happen next.

The only reason this wasn't a full five stars for me is that I would have loved a little more depth in a few emotional scenes. Other than that, it was a genuinely enjoyable read, and I'll definitely be checking out more books by Cynthia Woolf.

I'm also glad this book found its way onto my reading list. Whoever is helping introduce Cynthia's books to new readers is doing a wonderful job, because I might never have discovered this series otherwise. Readers are always looking for stories like this, and it's great to see them being brought to a wider audience. Keep up the great work!

Rocky, scary then blue skies full of love and promise ahead
I was drawn to this book first by the title. There’s just something inherently romantic about cowboys. Then the cover drew me to read the blurb. A cowboy who’s also a carpenter and handy? That is one element of a romance character of this reader’s kryptonite. Then there’s the emotional aspect of this story’s heroine, not to mention a baby girl and the hero’s young son added to the mix. All together the perfect recipe of a romance must read and for me, a new to me author must read.
After reading Her Secret Cowboy Billionaire by Cynthia Woolf, my first impressions held true because of the characters and their development throughout the book. This a slow build romance between Shavon and Brody. There’s mutual issues for each of them and though different, both have difficulty with trust. Brody is sweet and flirty while Shavon is kind yet reserved. Their attraction is palpable from the start, undeniable. Shavon approaches all of their interactions with some reticence while Brody is self-assured that he, Shavon, Davy and little Georgie are meant to be a family.
Overall, this couple work through their missteps and miscommunication, build a loving family unit and set themselves up for a wonderful HEA.
I read an ARC of this book via Grey’s Promotions and voluntarily share my review.

Brody and Shavon story is tragic and loving at the same time !! The Billionaire Cowboy and the City lawyer have had so much tragedy in there young lives that they deserve to have happiness for themselves .. JUST THEM !!

Shavon is now the sole custodian for her niece Georgia after he sister was killed, Brody had sole custody of his son David because he is divorced and his ex wife passed away. So, when Shavon leaves her corporate lawyer job in Chicago to move to Montana to take over he Grandmother's Inn she know she and Georgie are HOME !! But what she did expect was a hunky Cowboy and his son to be living there while he does the renovations she wants .. and so begins there tangled family tragic love story !!

And SECRETS are the biggest issues these two have, even with murder, kidnapping and betrayal to deal with !! LOVED every twist and turn in this book but every book has a silver lining and the two kids are it !!

Finding love and battling a Lunatic

Another amazing story. Cynthia Woolf knocks it out of the park with this book! She never ceases to amaze me with all her stories.

Shavon and Brody both have troubled past. Shavon is dealing with her sisters death and raising her sisters baby; Brody with his x-wifes death and infidelity and a Lunatic stalker woman trying to get him to marry her. Both left with small children to raise on their own. I fell in love with these two. The book pulled me in and I felt like I was right there watching it all unfold. The beautiful setting in the Twin City and the Victorian mansion Shavon is turning into a B&B and hiring Brody to renovate it. These two trying to avoid the pull of more than friendship. Shavon biggest issue is secrets being kept from her and Brody has a big one but she is keeping one of her own. All the while having to deal with the stunts of this Lunatic stalker woman.

I loved this book and i highly recommend it.

Her Secret Cowboy Billionaire by Cynthia Woolf is a captivated, heartbreaking, emotional with a bit of suspense to put you on edge while reading..Chevon is an attorney in the city and came from a well off family, when her grandmother died she inherited her mansion in Montana and decides to turn it into a bed and breakfast.after the tragedy of losing her sister and taking custody of her sister's baby..If her family didnt keep a secret on what her sister life she could help her and maybe she would still be alive..secrets that destroyed her relationship with the man she wanted to marry.and she finds herself falling for the new carpenter’s easy smile and cowboy charm. Picking up the traces of her life, Chevon relocates to Twin Bluffs with her baby niece to start a new life, away from the horror of her past. Discovering that the carpenter hired to update the old mansion and turn it into a guesthouse, is living in the house with his young son, is a surprise. As it turns out, the surprise is a good one. That is until Brody's stalker comes waltzing in. I enjoyed the connection between Chevon and Brody as well as the suspense that escalated towards the end of the book. However, secrets and surprises also escalated and could have derailed the romance if it hadn't been for the danger that threatened them. The novel ultimately does come to a good conclusion and I was especially glad that forgiveness was extended to those who needed it most. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Chevon has heartbreaking just lost her sister and has taken custody of her sister’s little baby girl, and when she inherits a Victorian mansion from her grandma in Montana, it is the perfect place to have a fresh start. Brody is a single dad who loves to work with his hands, and he is over the moon to win the bid to renovate and remodel the mansion. The chemistry between Brody and Chevon is combustible and undeniable, but the one things Chevon abhors is secrets, and Brody has a huge one, so what will happen when the truth comes out? This is a well written story which is filled with emotions, secrets, lies, heartbreak, danger, suspense, truths, and love, which leads to an entertaining and all-consuming page turner. I look forward to reading more form this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Cynthia Woolf typically writes historical western romance books but has branched out into a contemporary setting with this book. I enjoyed the story of Shavon and Brody. Shavon has inherited a home from her grandmother, and Brody is temporarily living there as he helps with repairs. Both have family issues to deal with and due to trust issues, have difficulty sharing details with each other. Grace, the housekeeper and longtime friend of Shavon's grandmother, is a steady presence in their lives. Ms. Woolf has written a great story with well-developed characters and an interesting plot. I enjoyed the book because there were elements that I did not expect and that kept my interest. I always find Ms. Woolf's books to be excellently written and this was no exception! Great job on your first contemporary western romance!!

Shavon now has responsibility for her eighteen month old niece, Georgie. Her sister, Sophie, was killed by her abusive husband, then he committed suicide. She's going to her great grandmother's house, in Twin Bluffs, which has been left to her, to turn it into a B and B.
On arrival she finds that Grace, the housekeeper, has allowed the carpenter, Brody, to stay in one of the rooms with his son. Davy.
Shavon hates secrets, Sophie kept things from her and ended up dead, Steve, her ex, kept things from her too.
Brody appears to have a stalker, Angela, she won't leave him alone.
There's a bachelor auction in aid of rescue horses and Brody persuades Shavon to buy him but Angela is furious with her.
Things escalate and then Shavon finds out Brody's been keeping secrets. Can she forgive him?

Another great read from Cynthia.

Loved This Contemporary Romance
Attorney Shavon Montgomery leaves everything in Chicago to move to Twin Bluffs, Montana to raise Georgie, her orphaned eighteen month old niece. She is leaving trauma to start over. She is going to open a Bed and Breakfast at the old Victorian mansion she has inherited from her great-grandmother. Her housekeeper has hired carpenter, Brody James, to update the mansion. Immediately there is a strong chemistry between the two, but James is keeping many secrets and Shavon hates secrets. This is a well written electrifying romance with drama and suspense that makes it extra intriguing.

A lovely written slow burn romance, if you are looking for something to take away the winter chill, then settle back and enjoy Her Secret Cowboy Billionaire.

Tragedy has brought Shavon back to the place where she and her sister spent many happy teenage years, now with sole custody of her niece after the brutal murder of her sister, all Shavon wants is to open her grandmothers' huge house as a B&B and make a good life for baby Georgie, no secrets and no drama, but when she meets Brody the man who is helping with renovations and his 10-year-old son Davy drama is going to be just around the corner because Brody isn't exactly who he says he is and although the couple are growing closer, secrets and a determined woman who won't except No could be the downfall of this budding romance.

Her Secret Cowboy is right out of our Mills Boon, it is a slow-burn warming story.

Chevon's story hurt my heart after she loses her sister and gains custody of her niece she knows it's time for a change. Moving to her grandmother's house that was left to her she realizes it's time to make her dream of owning a B & B a reality. There is a lot of work to be done to turn this beautiful home into a business, but she knows she can do it. When she meets the man who is going to help her there is an attraction, but she has to focus. Brody is handsome and I loved him from the start. He and his son are staying at the B & B to help Chevon repair it and get it ready. These two hits are off right off the bat and it's fun to read. However, when Brody's secret is revealed can Chevon forgive him and move on. Or will the love and friendship they are building be destroyed by timbers?

I absolutely loved this new book by Cynthia Woolf. The storyline pulled me in from the early pages and believe me it only gets better as each chapter plays out. The characters just burrow their way into your mind with all of both their good (and yes some bad) traits. I enjoyed some of the design ideas that were shared as individual rooms were recreated in this "Victorian" mansion. The children add a touching and precious dynamic to the story as they develop a very special bond. I would recommend this book and I look forward to more stories in this particular genre from Ms. Woolf.

I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review with my own personal opinions. I did read this book in December, 2021.

Chevon and Brody seem perfect for each other, but Brody is hiding something. Chevon is struggling with her sister's murder and is trying to raise her sister's little girl. She has inherited a mansion from her grandmother and has decided to open a B&B. The man who is doing the remodeling is a good carpenter, a good man and a good single father. He has been working hard to build a new life for him and his son and he thinks he has found the place to do it. He just doesn't want anyone to know who he really is. When danger strikes, he will do anything to save Chevon. Even if it does reveal his secret. Will Chevon understand?

So Many Life Changes!!

Leaving her law firm, adopting her 18-month-old niece, moving to Montana, and converting the Victorian mansion she has inherited to a B&B. Quite the list of changes Shavon had to make in a short time period.

Shavon also left an ex-fiance behind. The result of that messiness was a great dislike for secrets.

Brody, the carpenter the housekeeper hired has a 5-year old son who is enamored with her niece Georgie. He was a fine arts major, rodeo star and is now a carpenter.

These two spark electricity. But there are some roadblocks to overcome if there is to be a relationship between these two!!
