당신은 결국 무엇이든 해내는 사람

Ha! Back off, all ye worldly temptations (doomscrolling on my phone), for this book has finally cured my reading slump! Picked up the anniversary version (“___, you are capable of achieving everything”) up on a whim from the Seoul Incheon airport, and dare I say the read was almost comforting enough to appease the pains of a 12 hour flight - almost.

Overall great essay written by an ordinary, middle-of-the-mix man in Korea and retelling he overcame mental and literal hardship to *really live* a life he’d take pride in having led. Sometimes the biggest blocker to starting anything—is really ourself; the key is to truly believe that “I am someone capable of achieving anything.”

"어떻게 사는 것이 잘 사는 것일까?" 라는 질문에 가장 속 시원한 답을 해준 책이다. 이 세상을 살아가는데 내 자신의 가치의 중요성과 다른 사람의 시선의 쓸모없음을 일깨워 주었다. 원하는게 있으면 하면되는것이고 하기 싫으면 바라지 않으면 된다는 말귀가 가장 기억에 남는다. 개인적으로 작곡 공부를 항상 하고 싶었지만 그 길을 걸어와봤던 사람들이 비추천해 매년 포기했었는데, 이번 기회에 한번 다시 시작해보고 싶은 용기가 생겼다.

I read the Vietnamese version of this book and, although I couldn’t find it listed on Goodreads, I still wanted to share my thoughts.

This short but powerful book is a collection of stories, life lessons, and personal reflections from the author. I was completely hooked and deeply moved by the words. Some parts may feel a bit irrelevant depending on the reader, but overall, the message truly resonated with me.

What makes this book meaningful is its gentle yet firm encouragement: that no matter how hard things may seem now, they will pass — “No matter how heavy it rains, finally the sun shines. There’s no rain that lasts forever.” Whether it rains or shines, it’s simply a part of life, isn’t it?

The author reminds us that everything starts with the present moment. The keywords that stuck with me are “Right now” and “Do it.” These simple words were enough to push me to reflect, to take action, and to move forward with more courage.

This book gave me strength and motivation exactly when I needed it most. For that, I’m truly grateful.
