Let’s start here - “I have other uses for your throat which do not include injury” … this author word-for-word just stole a quote from a text message used as evidence in the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial. And let me tell you, that text thread between Johnny and Amber was far more romantic and articulate… that’s saying something!

There was a lot of errors in this book (grammatical and otherwise) that I feel could have been rectified in the editing process. Tons of repetition of mediocre snippets of the plot, and then plot holes that I felt could have been addressed to make the story more dynamic. I understand that this is a 3-in-1 collection, but I found it odd that we started with “Christmas” (not very Christmas-y either, with the exception of the name of the FMC of book 1&2 being ‘Merry’) and then goes to a Halloween story with new MCs… just feels backwards.

I put this book down a few times and almost DNF after book 2-of-3, but I have to see it through because of who I am as a person, lol.

Trigger Warning: SA

I honestly came very close to DNF’ing this book—it’s hands down one of the worst I’ve ever read. Beyond the distracting issues with poor editing and inconsistent name spelling, the way sexual assault was handled in the narrative was incredibly troubling. The portrayal of rape, especially in the context of the relationships between the characters, was not only disappointing but also deeply concerning.

One of the most unsettling elements was the stepmother’s reaction to her step daughter’s rapist. Not only does she have a baby as a with her step daughter’s rapist, but she also entertains the idea of marrying the perpetrator. This plotline felt incredibly irresponsible, and it was clear that the story tried to justify this through the rapist’s backstory—but that doesn’t make it okay. If the author had reworked or completely cut that part of the story, it might have been less problematic.

Given how heavily this book is being promoted on BookTok, I’m really surprised by the lack of discussion around how poorly this sensitive issue is handled. I would not recommend this to anyone, and I personally can’t understand the hype around it

I really tried to just get through it cuz I hate not finishing books even when they're really bad, but I got to the end of the second part of the book(it's split into three parts) thinking I finished it and when I realized there was another part, I just couldn't bring myself to keep going.

The three parts are Ready to Jingle, Consumed, and Halloween Games. Ready to Jingle was when the fmc and mmc first met, basically a little backstory. Consumed was a majority of the story and at the end of it, the fmc and mmc were married. I obviously don't know what happens in Halloween Games, but I don't really want to know anyways.

This felt like it came straight from Wattpad, but it was bad even for a Wattpad book. No hate to Wattpad bc there has definitely been many good books to come from it.

So it may start as a holiday themed book, she's at a sex club over Christmas hoping to experience her first big "O" when she meets him, but it's definitely not a holiday book. Definitely heed the rape warnings because that's a brutal chapter in the book. It was hard to finish this book. The tropes are dark mafia and age gap.

Heed the trigger warnings. Not a holiday book, pretty misleading title. The format was odd with the mini books.
It was extremely hard to finish.
Only reason it got 2 is because the spice was spicy. It wasn’t very imaginative and at parts just boring.

There are a lot of errors in the book. I also think that it is weird that around 80% of the book is one couple's story and the last 20% a different couple, that has absolutely nothing to do with the first.
The stories are also quite cringe a lot of the time.

Spice was nice.

Warning: contains spoilers**

I gave it 2 stars because the spicy scenes were nice.

Ivo was a poor excuse of a mob boss. He's weak & people walk all over him constantly. There are no consequences that would make anyone think they needed to respect him in that world. The nightclub scene was the closest we got to any sort of ruthlessness and give that had to be justified away.

Merry & Clara let Elaine get away with too much BS under the guise of being "family." Her attitude toward Clara after her trauma should have been enough for the girls to say enough is enough.
If that wasn't enough, she hooks up with Clara's r@pist, gets him out of prison, & tries to pin her pregnancy on Ivo.

Emilio is forgiven waaaay too easily. I understand he had a rough childhood, but that doesn't excuse his actions as an adult. He made his choices.

As far as Clara's trauma goes... that's just frustrating. She goes from being a scared, shell of a person to okay in a matter of days. She tries to unalive herself & is perfectly fine afterward. There's no back sliding into not being okay she just wakes up from almost dying, gets on some pills, and is magically cured. I get people handle trauma differently, but this just seems so unrealistic & harmful to those who are actually going through it.
The fact that Clara does cut Elaine out of her life after finding out about her & Emilio speaks volumes. Merry doesn't even seem to be that upset about it.

Lastly, the scene where Ivo finds out that Emilio isn't his son is confusing. It just baffles he how Ivo didn't know if that is how he found out.

Editor really failed this author

The story was there and it was well thought out for the most part. However, there were so many errors that the editor should have caught and had her fix. I'm assuming the author is not American-based because some errors included the added "u" in certain words that American English doesn't have. She also called the FMC apartment a flat. If she's going to write a book that takes place in America with American characters, the book should be written from an American standpoint. Grammatical and spelling errors were abundant throughout the book; so much so that I almost stopped reading it. One very noticeable error was when FMC was being told by her best friend she'd be by to pick her up at eight o'clock, but in the next paragraph, FMC states it's almost eight thirty so she starts to get ready and they pick her up at a completely different time. The book has a few other errors like that.

As I said, the story was there and I liked it. The editor let this author down.

DNF at 44% honestly it was painful to keep reading. The rape scene did not need to be that brutal. Both FMC and MMC were annoying and the world building is lowest level i’ve seen. I mean come on, he’s the head of the mafia and isn’t armed. There stepmom is the head of the mafia and she doesn’t keep a guard posted on her step daughter's and they have no help to speak off. And i have to thinking the step mom is a ruthless leader and cares about her daughters when she make no effort to keep them safe. She obvs new one of there friends is getting married and may know where the party is being held but no security guards are on any of these mafia princess. Literally how naive can you get. Poor writing.

DNF. The amount of errors. Random letters in random places? Confusing as hell with different stories but also you just don’t know the background in each section, you’re literally going in blind and confused!!

One moment they were in the club and then they couldn’t see each other anymore and then she’s watching her sister be taken by force at the club and the brother is in critical condition? Like wtf? Where did it all come from. Poorly thought out. I’ve never DNF a book but I seriously couldn’t push through.

🤢🤢

I dont even know how or where to start. The editor definitely failed in the editing department. I wanna say plot was there but writer failed in delivering. Spice was just not spicing. Idk anyone who talks like that while banging it out. Idk I’ve just never come across a book that just ticked ick after ick. And just advising ahead SPOILER ALERT after I found out the “man” I loved was fucking my step mom it’s a wrap….i would definitely say take this back to the drawing board.

I really really wanted to enjoy this (I purchased the special edition which cost a pretty penny) got a bonus point for the design of said edition, however the story was quite lacking, the MMC was a poor “mob” boss, lots of grammatical errors which as others have said made it feel more like a wattpad story. Also, pretty disappointing end to the Ivo & Merry story line which was immediately followed by a completely different couple which threw me.

2 stars - 1 for the spice and 1 for the design of the edition I purchased

ick

I love me some dark age gap smut. Honestly the darker the better. This wasn’t it. So much about this gave me the ick. It was poorly written for one. All the characters were unlikable. It was like a teenager wrote a cheesy soap opera. Really cringy. Claiming someone was a Dom and worked in a sex club in one breath, but the things he did would have gotten the place shut down. It really gave bdsm a bad name.

I walked away from this book thinking, “It’s so f*cked up but still so good.” It took me four days after reading it to come up with a quality review to leave. The one that was initially going to be posted spoke about character development, warned people to read the trigger warnings, and to be patient (if they can - everyone is different) because I eventually found out the hard scenes to be connected to character and story development.

Dnf at page 35

**This is my opinion. I hate doing this, but this is just my opinion.

I was so excited to read this book. The new updated cover was so pretty, and the way the author told me about it was why I got it. I started reading, and I was so disappointed.

There were grammer mistakes up the wazoo and there was WAY TO MUCH detail that didn't need to be there. Some areas week great, some areas stunk!

I was into this book for the first 50-75 pages, but, TW, the SA content broke my heart. I'm the type of person who will finish a book that I start, even if I'm not a huge fan. But it was so hard to get past that point. I ended up only reading the first two 'parts' of the book, then I had to put it down.

Super Hot 🔥😍
The original story was good, I like the plot. But then there was a novella at the end that I really liked, but it ended abruptly with frustrated me! Also makes me wanna read Halloween Games as we had a sneak preview at the end of the Special Edition of Wicked Holiday. I really enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down 😊😁🥰

This is the first book in 2025 I haven’t been able to force myself to finish. Riddled with grammar and spelling errors, there was no real plot and I kept trying to force myself to read it in the hope it would get better. I love dark romance, but this was neither dark nor romantic.

For a book that everyone seemed to be raving about on TikTok, I expected more.

This book really didn't do it for me. I don't know if English is not the first language of the author or if they were just typos. They were many.
Very predictable and the characters were just meh.
I gave it 2 stars because I honestly think that the setting had promise.

Had to DNF after about 100 pages. Lots of grammatical errors and sentence formation make it obvious English isn't the first language. The christmas puns are awful, and the overuse of Daddy is just too much. Too much cringe, not enough substance.

I wanted to so love the whole theme of the book.
I thought it sounded sexy. Something I haven’t read before.

But unfortunately I’ve never cringed so much while reading before.
I got 60% in and I quit.
I hate quiting but I just couldn’t.

While I did enjoy the book. I found it odd to have so many grammatical errors. I don’t usually see them this much with this Author. I also found it odd in the way some of it was portrayed. I just wanted to smack some characters.

DNF, I got 21% through this book and then stopped. The plot is all over the place. The story’s are confusing to keep up with. The FMC and MMC are nothing to gush about. Just poorly written.
