New South Wales Ambulance Officer Don Quinlan is a reluctant predator; autism renders him apex.
Captain Donald Quinlan's last mission with the Irish Army Ranger Wing is both a success and a disaster. Crippled and hunted, he is forced to do a deal with the Devil. Settling into his new life as an ambulance officer in Sydney, he is about to re-enter the maelstrom as two high-ranking ISIL commanders from his past initiate a false-flag double-tap terrorist attack on the US Consulate with devastating consequences.
Holden and Hoffman are Australian Federal Police narcotics investigators on the hunt for newly arrived combat drugs that are lighting up the streets and all roads lead to Quinlan. They have him cold for two murders, but nothing can prepare them for their confrontation with this lethal man and the ancient blade he wields.
Holden is already on the edge. New information about his son's death, and the incinerated children, threaten to hurl him off as he weighs the fate of millions.
The book didn't grab me. So I found the story a bit hard to follow. Was he an ambulance EMT or a killer? I found his actions hard to justify. But the book did have plenty of action which I like. Not a bad book, just not my cup of tea.
