Vaughn Brothers #1

Falling for the Jerk

Rate this book
It was an accident, I swear. Jensen Vaughn may be the absolute worst, but I didn’t push him down those stairs.
Not intentionally, anyway.

It was supposed to be my graceless butt lying in a broken heap at the bottom of the steps.
But no, the golden boy firefighter and beloved town hero had to take the fall meant for me.

He saved me.
And now the whole town thinks I maimed him on purpose.

So despite our mutual disdain, I’m compelled to help the surly man determined to endure his recovery alone.
Fortunately for him, I’m not deterred by doors slamming in my face.
Because the physical therapist most qualified to get him back on his feet (literally) is me.

Convincing him to put aside our differences long enough for me to help with his recovery was hard.
Accidentally falling for the jerk? Stupidly easy.

I can see why some people enjoyed this, but it simply did nothing for me. I mean, it wasn’t bad, it was just kind of boring.

They’re enemies for quite a bit, which was probably the best part, but even then, I wasn’t really feeling the chemistry or tension between them.
However, when they ditched the hostility and actually got together, it unfortunately got even worse. At that point, they simply became way too corny and almost sickeningly sweet, even though it still didn’t feel like they were all in.

It’s difficult to explain, but I was kind of constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop here; for them to either have some real angst or some intense love, but… I don’t know, it was just kind of giving me the same vibes the whole way through. And, unfortunately, those vibes were not working for me at any given moment.

im pressuring everyone to read this

small town enemies to lovers romance between a hot grumpy firefighter mmc and a witty physical therapist fmc who has a neurological condition that causes motor coordination issues?

but the mmc doesn't know this and he thinks she's just incredibly clumsy and she thinks that he's annoyed for having to save her all the time because he's always so rude and grumpy and short towards her?????

but honestly it's mostly because he's extremely worried about her all the time?????

i don't even remember how i came across this book but i'm so glad i did 🫶🏼 the banter, the TENSION?! whew.

i mean, this wasn't life-changing or anything but also everything i've ever needed in my silly little romcom. it was funny, full of sexual tension, had a little angst to it, and had so many micro-tropes i like. also, the smut was actually hot. the PRAISES?! 😩🫶🏼

i LOVED that this book stuck with the classic babe and baby. they had cringey nicknames for each other but only used them to tease. other than that they just called each other babe, and he called her baby. or sweet girl.

and she loved to be praised, so there was a lot of......."you did so good, baby," or "you take care of me so well, baby," that got me giggling like a psychopath.

the plot wasn't anything new and that is why i love it. just your classic grumpy sunshine masterpiece. very comforting and it will give you all the fuzzies <3

the mmc was grumpy because his ex-fiancee left him and while nowadays i don't mind drama, i know this sort of thing put people off all the time - however i have to say i love how it was handled in this book.

man really said the bitch ex did him a favor and that he was glad for all the anguish he had to go through because the end goal was her, our fmc. not me giving him a mental standing ovation at that.

and the ex never appeared in the book or anything so zero ow drama. EVEN BETTER. just the angst and the mental turmoil which i didn't mind one bit.

“Baby, I don't see anyone but you,” I take her hand and press her palm against my chest. “I have no room left in here for anyone but you.”

some of the other characters have their own books i think but i didn't read them before starting this and had no problem following along.

this book checked off all my boxes and idk it's just a perfect romcom. great balance between plot and smut. entertaining story and great characters. and also like.....firefighters. need i say more

The only reason I’m not giving this book 5 stars is because I feel like Jensen and Gracie have a lot of things that have happened between them before the start of the book. And even though this is book one, I wish we actually got to read about all those interactions up to the start of the book. We didn’t get to see them start to not like each other and I wish we could have.

Gracie and Jensen do NOT like each other. Jensen is the town’s beloved firefighter and Gracie is the towns newest clutz. Jensen is constantly having to save Gracie from herself and one of the times he saves her, he just so happens to… fall down a flight of stairs. Gracie takes it upon herself to help get Jensen back on his feet. All it’s gonna take us months of rehab and then constantly being together.

I feel like I say this about every romance book but the banter between these two was top tier! I was dying reading these two interact. They are honestly so perfect for each other and I loved every second of it. I can’t recommend this book enough!

Some of my thoughts while reading:

• The lengths Gracie will go to for the dessert she wants is a whole mood 🤣

• What a freaking protective, grumpy gentleman 🥰🥹

• Jensen Vaughn saying “Good girl” is just 👨🏻‍🍳💋 This man knows how to work a praise kink.

• If I had the physical copy of this book I would be highlighting every word out of this man’s mouth 😍

Alright, alright, alright. This was fire and I’m burned. Stand too close to the sun and crispy bacon you will become. I loved this. Honestly, the cover is dumb and the title is laughable. BUT those are the only two bad things about this.

Jensen is grumbly, growly, and protective in all the best ways. Grace is strong, kind, and sassy- some of my favorite FMC traits. These two deserve and have earned the right to a hea. I can see this being a reread. I never felt like the enemiesxlovers crossed into cruel territory, and the hanky-panky was hawt as hell. Say the word and I’ll be Jensen’s good girl. I’m a sucker for a heroine in peril, and poor Grace is lucky to have a good-looking fireman constantly looking out for her.

A lot of the ideas in this aren’t new, but they feel refreshing because of how this is composed. There were several moments I started rolling my eyes, but the author brought me immediately back. Cliches were turned on their heads, and that made for a pleasantly unexpected reading experience. That’s a skill, and awareness, that had me tippy-tap-dance with glee.

I’m not above doing questionable things for this series to get more books. You wanna see me on my knees? Done. Begging, is that your style? Say less. A bribe? As long as you’re a cheap date Amy Alves, I’ve got you. These other brothers are snacks, and I’m hungry. I just ate with this, but I’m a glutton for good fictional characters.

For everyone who said, “oooh a firefighter romance showing up on Vee’s page” a couple of weeks ago. Lemme just say that Amy Alves took the firefighter angle and ran with it. And she knocked it out of the fucking park because this was pure 🔥🔥🔥

We get big, broody, keeps-to-himself twin, Jensen. He just so happens to be a firefighter 😍

And then there’s Gracie, who’s not quite coordinated due to a condition she has. And where she tends to bump into things or fall into accidents, Jensen is there to make sure she stays safe. But there are words. We get those enemies to lovers vibes. 🥵 and there’s a slow burn while we get that angst cooking.

After a fall, Jensen is out of work and Gracie works her way into his physical therapy plan to help him recover.

THE BANTER 👏
THE NICKNAMES 🥹
THE TENSION 🥵
POSSESSIVE 🫢
TOUCH / HURT / LOOK AT HER & DIE VIBES 😈
PRAISE KINK 🤤

Basically, you need to read the fuck outta this one because it’s 😮‍💨

Having not read the first two books in the series I wasn't sure if I would be confused reading this. Nope! Not at all. But--I am going back to read about the Olivia and Sawyer and Declan and Dani, because I enjoyed this book so much.

This book focused on Jensen Vaughn and Gracie Parker. Jensen AKA Jerksen to Gracie has been a thorn in her side since she moved to town a year ago. He is always there saving her from accidents and being a pest. They don't get along at all. Their banter is some of the best I have read. Gracie gave as good as she got.

Jensen is a firefighter who was left at his wedding (before Gracie moved to town) and is still brooding about that. Gracie is newer in the small town as a physical therapist and has already had her fair share of gossip spread about her. When Jensen tries to save her from falling again, he ends up taking the fall and breaking his ankle and more. Of course, Gracie is the one to help him recover. That's where their feelings start to grow and the heat happens. And it gets spicy!

Thank you to the author for an advanced readers copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ummmm what even was this book. I’m dying at it.
I was literally giggling and covering my face from blushing with this. How freaking good and cute.

I won’t say this is a slow burn but I was literally getting SO anxious for these two to finally deal with the tension!!!! And the “F**k it” moment!!!!! OMG. Yes.
When they finally get together too🥵🥵🔥
The spice was so good…🌶️🌶️🌶️

If you are a praise girly… read this.. pronto. That is all.

I didn’t know this was a series, so now I’m going back to read the first 2 before Falling for the Grump comes out😍😍

Thank you Amy Alves for gifting me this ARC in exchange for my spoiler free and honest review❤️

This was the most fun I've had while reading in a LONG time. I love finding new to me authors that I just vibe with, and that's what happened here!

Since I've never read this author before, I haven't read the previous books in the series, but i wasn't lost at all. (But I will be going back once I have the chance!) This story follows Jensen, who after being left at the altar a year ago, is still hiding himself in his work (he's a firefighter) and basically keeping to himself and working on his house. Despite being a self proclaimed recluse, the town gossip is very active about him, particularly when it surrounds his animosity towards the pint sized physical therapist. Ever since she moved to town, Jensen has made his dislike for her known as much as possible, and now they are forced to be around each other since an accidental fall leads to Jensen needing her help, and they just might find that they never hated each other at all.

As much as I loved Jensen (and I truly did! He was gruff and grumpy yes, but he was also so swoony and had a heart of gold) I absolutely ADORED Gracie. She's overcome so much in her life, and works so hard every day for the challenges she still faces. What some *ahem, Jensen* who just think shes accident prone with the inability to act like a normal adult *major side eye* she's actually dealing with Dyspraxia, and it just made me love her so much to witness how she never gave up and kept pushing herself to do what everyone else could do and more, all the while proving Jensen wrong that she didn't maliciously hurt him. She has so much strength and heart, and even though she fought falling for him at first, Jensen has had a hold of her heart from the very first time she saw him, and now that they finally *see* one another, walls down and vulnerabilities exposed, they can never look away again.

I can go on and on about how much i love this couple, but they were just so fabulous! Their snack and banter was totally on point, as well as the perfect amount of steam and emotion, as well with all the townspeople antics as well as Jensens family, there's something for every romance lover here! Go one click today!

Omg this book! I am absolutely obsessed! It had some of my favorite tropes...

• Enemies to Lovers
• Forced Proximity
• Broody Firefighter
• Accident prone mfc
• Quirky small town

I did seriously love this book. I can honestly say it's definitely on my top 5 list for books this year... and it's probably at the top.

The banter!!! Holy crap the banter was fantastic. Gracie was so sassy, and I swear she was the come back queen because some of the stuff she said had me laughing. I absolutely loved her character and the disability rep. She owned who she was and didn't let it slow her down.

Jensen was the perfect overprotective, broody alphamale. I loved his relationship with his family and seeing him get over his past.

The chemistry was perfect, and the spice was fantastic, too. I loved the small town setting. I honestly just loved everything about it!

𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫 (h) is seemingly always finding herself in trouble, but she has an explanation that not many people know about. 𝐉𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐧 𝐕𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐧 (H), the town’s grumpy golden boy, always saves her because he is always around. So when he gets injured, and everyone thinks she did it on purpose, she swoops in to care for him until he can recover quickly. But they always say there is a fine line between love and hate.

༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰➳ 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞·˚ ༘₊· ͟͟͞͞꒰

I promise you that Grace and Jensen are easily lovable, and their banter will have you turning page after page. From the start, we know that the two don’t get along, and the entire town knows it, they didn’t have the best first impression of each other, and since then, they have walked around eggshells around each other because they are likely to throw insults at each other. However, deep down, the two are fascinated by their back and forth and wouldn’t mind turning it into something… more physical. When the entire town assumes Grace took down the town’s hero, she comes to the rescue and makes his life easier. It was interesting to see their back and forth and how Jensen was reluctant to let her in because of his past. However, she was able to crack his hard exterior and allow the romance to blossom. While I do believe that their relationship escalated quickly and could have been delayed for extra gratification, it makes sense considering the sexual tension between them. At one point, they had to stop lying about how they really felt.

Jensen is a flawed MMC, but with the support of Grace, she allows him to see that he’s special as he is and he isn’t interchangeable with his twin brother. The book has many themes, and the conversations between the two are sweet when they get over their “false hatred.” I thought Jensen was very sweet and apologetic when he discovered things he said about Grace that he regretted. He was able to make up for what he did, but didn’t have to change himself completely to be the guy she wanted. While he was enough for her, it took him a bit longer for him to realize that.

I would have adored the book if we had seen the early moments of their interactions instead of knowing they didn’t get along because of how he reacted to her the first time they met. He was not in the best state, impacting his mannerisms toward everyone. Jensen’s insecurities were established from beginning to end, but I wish he had gotten some closure. I know that Grace reassured him near the end, but I wanted that personal growth to exist outside of the romance. I think his reactions were valid, making him such a likable character because he just wanted to be loved unconditionally.

*. ⋆𝐎͢𝐕͢𝐄͢𝐑͢𝐀͢𝐋͢𝐋͢

This book will make you laugh and swoon; the smut is great, so there aren't any complaints. If you love praise, then this is the book for you, and I love that it has teaching moments. However, I honestly wished it was longer because I felt like there was more to their story that we didn’t get, so I’m sad that we can’t live in their POV forever. 💘💗💓💘

Omg this book is hilarious! I love a good enemies to lovers and I love a good romcom and this fits both! Gracie has something called dyspraxia. While most people think she’s just incredibly Columbus she actually has a neurological disorder that mean her lack of coordination is literally not her fault. It takes her so much more concentration to do things most people take for granted. But, she learned a long time ago that telling people what it’s not just clumsiness did nothing to help. People will either like her pr not, and Jensen definitely seems to be in the or not category. Hot firefighter town hero, he’s the bane of her existence, he always harems to be there for her most embarrassing moments and always with a rant about how careless she is. In reality, Jensen is a jerk bc he’s worried she’s going to seriously hurt herself and hating her is easier than liking her. He’s not into anything but work since his ex left him the night before their wedding. Their feud comes to a head when he tries to keep her from falling and instead falls down the stairs himself, ending up with a broken ankle and hurt shoulder. Feeling so guilty, Gracie forces him into using her as his physical therapist as a way to make amends and get him back to work asap.

I love Gracie so much! She is soooo relatable. I too fall for a**holes hoping they’ll be cinnamon rolls and am absolutely bored by “nice guys (who often turn out to never actually be nice)😂 Also, as someone with a birth injury that I’ve never let hold me back but does change how i do some things most people don’t think twice about (nowhere near to the extent of dyspraxia) I loved the disability rep in this book. Gracie sassy and badass and like not gonna let it stop her from doing anything.

Jensen is such a loveable jerk. He truly is a cinnamon roll hiding in a tough broody, jerky exterior. He’s got his reasons and his overprotectiveness comes out in the self protective way of being a giant jacka**

Their banter and antics had me laughing out loud during their enemy phase and I loved watching them figure out how to communicate without wanting to strangle each other.

Thank you Greys Promo for letting me read and review this early!

I LOVE enemies to lovers romances and this book hit the spot! Gracie and Jensen have an intense dislike for each other, it might honestly borderline of hate. Jensen is a firefighter and very loved by the town. He’s always coming to Gracie’s rescue and one of those times he falls down a flight of stairs. Gracie’s the best person to get him back on his feet which will require them to spend a lot of time together.

I loved these two! Their banter was spot on and I was a huge fan of Jensen’s grumpy protectiveness and the words that came out of his mouth! This book has it all, it’s spicy, hilarious, and it has amazing characters! I can’t wait for the next Vaughn brother’s book!

Small town romance at its best!

Jensen Vaughn is the most infuriating MMC you will meet in a LONG time. His insecurities abound but he starts off with the personality of a freaking rock. And Grace’s taunts to him to pull his actual personality out are, in short, magnificent!

Their play off each other is beyond compare. Especially when you add in Dani, Declan as their BFFs, and Jaxon as the snarky, perpetually happy twin brother.

If you love proximity, and grumpy/sunshine, with a touch of enemies to lovers, you’ve found you book. Just stop looking now!

Ever since Jensen had to rescue Grace from the kitchen debacle at Dani's bakery, I've been impatiently waiting for their book. That being said, it was 1000% worth the wait.

This was the best enemies to lovers books I've read in awhile and it's because that even though they were enemies, they were both trying to protect themselves from the inevitable fall for each other from the very beginning.

Jensen's broody, abrasive, and sometimes down right mean demeanor was perfectly balanced by Grace's need to own who she is without letting her disability define her, which in turn made her a kick ass, strong, independent leading lady.

I loved watching them slowly fall and their fighting was the best foreplay to their steamy scenes that could've set my phone on fire. The first time they came together was absolutely explosive and most definitely did not disappoint.

Do yourself a favor and move this one to the top of your TBR so you can see how wonderfully their HEA unfolds.

Okay, so I was really excited to go back to Vaughn, and “Falling For the Jerk” did not disappoint!!! Jensen and Gracie’s love story was a breath of fresh air, and I can honestly say that I loved every second of it. I really enjoyed their interactions with each other, and I loved watching their relationship grow and develop over the course of the novel. Jensen was a bit of an alphahole, but that’s just part of his charm!!! I really think he was a complex character with flaws, but I also think he loves fiercely and is extremely loyal to those he cares about. And Gracie!!! She’s a total sweetheart, but she could definitely hold her own, and she wasn’t afraid to stand up for herself when necessary. This book is the best small town romance I’ve read in ages. I highly recommend!!!

nickname trope is NOT for everyone! some of yall be brainstorming very dumb and unserious ones please stop before we gotta prioritize dealing with how u making my eye twitch rn over solving climate change.

i was smiling at like 50% when the forced proximity buzz kicked in and they were wildin 😋 but i hate when there’s a good mutual annoyance to lovers dynamic building and the writer decides to shake the entire foundation once they’re together and reveal one actually was catching feelings from the start …………… what happened to loyalty and truth?! and then you’re gonna call this enemies to lovers in the synopsis im tired

anyways they did had a “fuck it” first kiss after fighting which was quite honestly the greatest part of this book!

“how am i the confusing one? you save me, then ridicule me. protect then lecture. tease then taunt. fuck me, then fight with me. fight for me.” not me thinking of queen charlotte show immediately like hold awn that’s my sister’s line now 😭

so far i’ve read firefighter x police and now firefighter x physical therapist WHO’S NEXT?

“Also, how am I the confusing one?” I ask. “You save me, then ridicule me. Protect then lecture. Tease then taunt.” I crane my neck, glancing around us before whispering, “Fuck me, then fight with me. Fight for me.”

I ate this book up! My bags are packed and I’m moving to Vaughn! I’ll get into the specifics below (spoiler free), but if you’re looking for a firefighter romance to satisfy your Chip & Dale fantasies… this is it.

Falling for the Jerk by Amy Alves: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Tropes: enemies to lovers, small town, first responder romance, firefighter romance, grumpy sunshine, “good girl”

Here’s what I loved:

Gracie
I love that she’s not the perfect/flawless/average female main character. She has depth and she’s quirky! She has faults, but she’s resilient and determined. Her character was fun to get to know.

Jensen freaking Vaughn
I took in depth notes on this man’s dirty talk and 1000% will be presenting to my husband. Hot damn! The man is the worst kind of fire fighter because he’s starting fires in my pants! He’s suave, dominant and possessive and I am obsessed with him.

The story
I loved how our two main characters’ traumas play into and feed off one another. It adds dimension to the story, and not once was I ever bored! I didn’t feel like there was a lag of any kind, and I found myself disappointed when I inevitably had to put the book down.

The spice
This book isn’t quite slow burn; it takes until about 48% for things to really heat up (fire pun intended), but oh my gosh when it does it HEATS UP! I kind of went over this in my section about Jensen, but even Gracie has got a mouth on her and I was here for it!! I found the spice well written and not cringey at all!

Here’s what I didn’t love:

There we’re a few repetitive mentions
A few times there would be a phrase that was mentioned a page or two prior, or just something that popped up throughout the book over and over. It didn’t bother me personally all that much, but it was enough for me to consciously notice it.

Thank you to Amy and Valentine PR for an E-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. As always, all thoughts and opinions re my own.

DNF’d. After 92 pages, the accident FINALLY happened and then the story was still dragging for anything to actually start happening between the two main characters. Aside from that, this story was randomly pervy in such a cringey way. I think it was meant to come across as cute or clever, but random side stories about the fire department having to save an older couple from trying bondage or a constipated 20 year old losing their spoon trying to dig poop out, and comparing a bicycle seat to a dick slipping to “accidentally” have sex…. just didn’t do it for me.

I really love this series and Amy Alves writing, but this one just wasn't my style. I had a really hard time with FMC and the constant clumsiness but not willingness to share her disability. Jensen was a little too broody and a little too perfect and it all just felt a bit predictable.

Oh what a fun read this was, I am so happy to be back with the Vaughn family!
I laughed a lot throughout this book, and couldn’t get enough of the dynamic Jensen and Gracie shared. But I was not left without some emotional moments that pulled at my heartstrings and scenes that left me swooning.

This is the type of enemies-to-lovers I can’t put down! Jensen and Gracie are like oil and water from the moment they first met. Poor Gracie is a little accident prone, and as assistant Fire Chief, Jensen gets a front row seat to it-and he just can’t help but scold her for what he sees as carelessness.

Gracie is such a sweet character. Not only is she kind and funny- but her strength, determination and tenacity is fantastic! She has some quick wit and cheeky comebacks especially when Jensen is being all grumpy towards her!
Oh boy is Jenson one heck of a book boyfriend! I love is quiet, broody nature and hardworking attitude. He is so protective over Gracie, it’s adorable. He won’t admit to himself or anyone else why he is that way-he covers it up with looks of annoyance and snarky remarks. Gracie gives just as good as she gets-leading to a well know rivalry the town (and I) just can’t get enough of.

The banter between these two is wonderful! They have such a dislike for each other, but the underlying, albeit unwanted, confusing feelings they both have is fantastic. All the inner thoughts so great.
They dislike the fact that they find the other curious and attractive and fight those feelings more than they fight with one another!
Just buckle up, because once these two start to realize maybe all the frustration and feelings are not what they once were, they are fire! The steam between these two is top notch!

There is much more than meets the eye with both of them. They both have great story’s, and pasts that have left them wary of love, relationships and trust. I loved reading each minute of their journey, seeing them discover new things about each other and find that they really could be perfect for each other. But they have a few things still left to discuss, will they allow their hearts to be open to the type of future they both deserve?

I love this whole family and friends group, make sure to read the epilogue for one heck of a teaser for the next book! I can not wait for that one either!

2nd book in the Vaughn Brothers series

What do you get when you have an accident-prone physical therapist and a moody heartbroken Firefighter? Only one of the best books ever!

I absolutely loved Gracie. She was sassy. She was determined. She didn't let anything stand in her way, including Jensen. She knows how to hold her own, even on an ice rink.

Speaking of Jensen, he was moody. He was a loner. He was heartbroken and took it out on Grace. But he was also loyal and protective. They both taught each other something and knew what the other needed before they even said it.

But let's take a moment to appreciate all the banter in this book! The back and forth between Jensen and Gracie was hands down some of the best I have ever read. They both knew how to dish it and take it. Each time trying to one-up the other. I will leave you with one of my favorite quotes from Gracie:

"And while your other brother over there may look a lot like you, his bossy pants aren't shoved as far up his ass as yours."

I have so many favorite quotes but unfortunately, I'll get flagged on review sites if I use them because they are 🥵🥵🔥🔥

The nicknames they had for each other made me laugh. Jerksen, Hotshot, Grace, because it gave her something to strive toward, Rude!

I loved both of their relationships with their families. Especially Jensen. He loved his family more than anything. I loved that we got to see characters from past books as well as from future books. I cannot wait for Brody's book! And then Jaxons!

But I cannot be the only one that thought of this man the entire time I was reading:

Here's another one for good measure:

This book...OMG this book was perfect.

I loved Jensen and Gracie. I had so much fun reading this book. Their angry interactions were what made the book even more interesting.

At first I was irritated by Jensen attitude. He was grumpy and mean towards Grace. On the other hand Gracie was disturbed by his attitude and she thought he hates her, but she still put quite a fight and let me tell you...she 2as definitely a firecracker.

Al their meetings were so lust heated and beneath all this hatred lies passion and lust. But both of them are stubborn and neither wanted to admit it. Until one faithful day when Jensen snapped and he finally did something about it. From then on there was so much spice and we finally understood why Jensen made Gracie thinks that he hates her.

The smut within this book was soo soo good. The praise, the dirty talk, the fire...literally everything was just beyond my imagination. But I still think that she should made him work for his mistake and her forgiveness.

I knew that this book will be good, since I read the blurb. But it turns out that is better than good, it was awesome. Stories with firefighters are one of my favourites. I will make sure to read the previous 2 books within the series and can't wait for the next future one.

I received an ARC from Grey's Promotion and this is my voluntary review.

Falling for the Jerk is a small town enemies to lovers romance book by Amy Alves. While it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Falling For the Grinch as it covers some aspects that might be a little confusing.

Gracie is a woman who knows her own value, and I absolutely loved that about her. She’s seen what true love is, has defined it in her mind, and even though she’s had heartache in her life, and it didn’t all go to plan, she wasn’t going to accept second best just to make life easy.

Jensen has had his heart broken and more. Around town he’s known as the broody twin to his brother Jax. It does take an effort to move past what life has taught you, accept your shortcomings, make a decision and move on. And he did it, in spades.

While this is not an angsty book, I felt it right to my heart. The chemistry between Jensen and Gracie was hot and oh so heavy, but Jensen had a lot to sort out, and while Gracie wasn’t going out of her way to make it harder, she wanted her fairytale, and she was sticking to it!

Grace is a physical therapist, who’s also known for her clumsiness and getting hurt in whatever she does.

Jensen is a fire fighter, who seems to always be on shift when Grace is hurt, which also means he’s the one that’s always helping her.

These two are famous in their small town for the bickering and arguing whenever they see each other, but one day Grace clumsiness cause Jensen to fall and break his leg and would need a physical therapist to help him go back to normal.
However when they got alone their true feelings start to unravel and they can’t seem to ignore it but acting on it doesn’t seem to bad.

I loved the funny moments between everyone in this book, it seemed like everyone needs a book 😂 and I love how Jensen and Grace both were so supportive with each other, especially when Jensen helped Grace get over her fear and would always make sure she’s okay.

I’m really excited for Brody’s book and can’t wait for Jaxson’s 💛

Excuse me while I gather my thoughts because 🤯 Lord have mercy, Jensen owes me a pair of panties or two as they combusted while Gracie was enjoying all that dirty talk and spicy time!

This story is one I wasn’t event remotely looking forward to ending, because the banter was incredible, the spice rocketed me to the moon, and all the while I was given chills, swooned, and had my heartbroken.

I love Gracie’s fiery spirit in which she goes above and beyond to prove to herself and to others that she can do anything she puts her mind to. I adore her ability to banter with the a-hole that gives her the most grief over her clumsy, and seemingly reckless behavior all while keeping her sweet and caring nature.

Gracie and Jensen are quite the odd couple and their relationship starts out in a crazy mix of want and hate, both of them blaming their own insecurities as to why they would be a disaster together. But when they slip off their masks and into something more comfortable, sheesh it’s so hot it’s a good thing Jensen is a firefighter!

Falling for the Jerk is a journey that I appreciated every moment of. Each beat of the book felt genuine and like I was right alongside Gracie in all her spills, mishaps, and accidents and fell in love with Jensens growly, broody, overprotective, and down right dirty attitude.

Best Enemies to Lovers

This enemy to lovers Plot was excellent. It's a storyline that I couldn't wait to see how much Mr. J. Hole would grovel when he found out Gracie's secret. It was way more loving and sweet then I could have imagined. Making Jensen extremely swoon worthy. And, Gracie was everything we love in our Snarky Independent Female Characters.

I love it when an author schools me. This time I had to Google Praise Kink...

Some sections had too much word fill and that's the only reason that for me it kept it from a 5 star rating. But, it was an Excellent story.

Excellent Storyline - Great Read
