Shadows of Canfield Mountain

Rate this book
Josh wasn't looking for romance as he hiked the trails of Canfield Mountain. A wounded veteran with amnesia, he was there trying to get his memories back. "Go somewhere familiar,” the doctors had told him. The sudden onset of yet another flashback to the battle forced him to sit down. He had tried to ignore the last flashback only to find himself falling down a steep trail. This time he sat down on the nearby bench to wait it out. A moment later she limped up to the bench and sat down next to him. His first thought, is she someone I'm supposed to know? Not knowing at the time, this woman would turn the rest of his world upside down.

I liked this story. Strangers met and she knew she needed to help him. She never gave up on him and helped him get his memories back. Of course a little romance included. I liked all the snarky comments. It had me laughing out loud.

Warrior Returns

Suzanne was hiking with a friend when she twisted her ankle and had to sit it out. Josh was sitting on the same bench, so Suzanne talked with him. After discovering he was an injured vetern, Suzanne wanted to do all she could go help him.

What a great read. I couldn't put this down. We need more people like Suzanne to be support for our veteran's, wounded or not. Yes, there are social workers who get paid to be support, but to have people like Suzanne go the extra mile is incredible.
