As fun as it’s been to be trapped in the past with Mina and Decker, I’m so glad that they’re back where they belong. It was almost pulling teeth to read this one, but I did actually enjoy myself! Mina and John have survived the sinking of the Titanic and find themselves stranded in NYC circa 1912. They realize they’re in close proximity to someone who can help them get back to the future, but it’s all threatened when a faceless force is killing people around the city, and their new friend Clarence is in its path.
A series a grisly murders, roaming vampires who want Mina for themselves, a kicky Irishman and a spoilt New Yorker…what could go wrong?
Waited along time for this an it's as good as I thought it would be. I'm happy that John Decker is home an can't wait to see what comes next. So if you like a little weird . this series is a good one.
AM I READY FOR THE NEXT JOHN DECKER BOOK IN THE SERIES - HELL YES!!!!
(Especially after this book I ask the author)!!
Final Destiny is the 13th book in the John Decker Series and it was unputdownable, whoosh whoosh demolished and devoured in 2 sittings, that is how addictive this series is amazing!!!
Well, here we go John and Mina manage to survive the sinking of the Titanic in the last book. Their adventure starts after they land in New York with no where to go and penniless, you know they can't stay out of weird or supernatural out of the normal events!
A murder has happened and not long after another murder happens, a murderous creature with inhuman foot marks are left at the scene. But as you know if you have read any of this series it's never straight forward. This story has twists and turns which even made me gasp out loud. One big problem still, they are still in the wrong century and are trying to find a way to get back, will they succeed?
Over many years from all the books I have read, everytime he draws me in from the first word to the very last in the book, I literally devoured this book, wow just brilliant, looking forward to the next book, addictive and unputdownable, totally gripping absolutely loved it !!!!!!
The legacy of John Decker just gets better and better with every book.
There is only 1 thing that I really wish for every time I read one of the John decker books. I wish I could read it slower and take my time and enjoy it and savor it for all it's worth. Mr. Strong has created a series of books that are so enjoyable at some point I'm going to have to go back and start them all over again. It is amazing what he has created over the years. Aside from just Decker's character, all of the other characters that help bring the stories to life are as real as people I interact with every day. Thank you Mr. Strong for sharing your imagination with us.
I have read all of the John Decker series and have had my favorites. Well, this one surpassed them all. It was thrilling, exciting, heartbreaking and just such a wonderful story. Anthony has hit his stride with this one. I don't want to say much more and spoil it for anyone. Suffice it to say it was just such a pleasure to read and not one to pass up if you are a fan of the author and especially of the John Decker series. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion of the tale.
Final Destiny by Anthony M. Strong is the 13th book in the John Decker series, where Decker and Mina, survivors of the Titanic, find themselves stranded in 1912 New York. When a gruesome murder on the Brooklyn Bridge reveals inhuman footprints, they’re drawn into a string of supernatural killings that threaten the life of Clarence Rothman—their only hope of returning to their own time. To survive, Decker must battle a mysterious creature and solve the murders before they’re trapped in the past forever.
This is a gripping addition to the John Decker series that blends history, mystery, and the supernatural in a way that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The setting of 1912 New York, fresh off the Titanic disaster, is vividly brought to life and provides the perfect backdrop for the eerie murders beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. Strong delivers a fast-paced, atmospheric story with just the right mix of suspense and horror, while Decker and Mina remain compelling characters you can’t help but root for. A must-read for fans of supernatural thrillers.
After the events of deadly crossing John and Mina are still in 1912. If they have any chance of getting back to the future and Decker getting back to Nancy they need to help from Clarence Rothman. I can't say why they need him for spoilers of previous books. What I can say is there is a terrible monster that is after Clarence and his friends! Decker and Mina need to help him and keep him alive if they are to go back to the future he can't help them if he dead! The story were gripping throughout! Scary in places! I kept saying to myself I'll read one more chapter and ended up reading five more! I could not put it down! It had action and it had detail that gave it atmosphere! I loved it and hope others will too! I were given an advanced copy for free to leave this honest review.
To all of you John Decker fans, This is the best yet. I received an early copy and this is my honey review. Monster hunting , vampires , twists and turns and plenty of other stuff I won't mention so I don't spoil anything. Anthony has excelled himself with this book. I can't recommend it enough. It is one of the best books I have read, and at my age that's a lot. November is when the next John Decker book comes out. Night Wraith. I can't wait to see how he can better this book and it's a long wait. Maybe we'll get another CUSP Files first. Recommended, recommended, recommended.
Well, that was one heck of a book! I'm not sure where to start with the accolades. The monster tale was one of the best in the series. Many blind alleys and red herrings had me wondering if John and Mina would prevail. The resolution was exciting. The story arc that has run thru the last couple books had me chomping at the bit to skip to the end to see if things would be resolved. I held out and so should every reader. No spoilers so that's all I'm going to say in this review except be sure to read this book soon if you are a fan of the series. And don't skip to the end.
John Decker and Mina have survived the tragic sinking of the Titanic. They arrive in New York City on the Carpathia, and almost immediately, they are thrown into more danger. In every book series, there is usually a time when one book is not as good as the others, but it hasn't happened yet in the John Decker series. With new supernatural creatures to deal with, excellent period research, and a well-developed cast of characters, this hits a homerun every time. I love this series and am very excited to read the next one!
John and Mira are in New York, after surviving the sinking of the Titanic. While there, a brutal murder happens in a secret room in one of the supports of the Brooklyn Bridge. Two days later, another identical murder is committed. Both sites had inhuman footsteps. When the monster turns to Clarance Rothman, they have to save him, because he may be the path to get back to their own time. Thrilling story, as usual. Will they get back, or stuck in 1912 New York? Well written and very enjoyable read
Anthony M. Strong has outdone himself in this book! What a crazy ride! John and Mina make it safely to NY after traveling on the Titanic. What they didn't expect was to run into trouble right after arriving. There is no rest for the Monster Hunter! This story introduces a few new characters who are great. New type of monster, new challenges, and all while trying to figure out how to get back home to our time. What a crazy book. Absolutely loved this one! And the ending blew my mind! Highly recommend!!
Read as an Advanced Reader. Another book that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish . Time travel ,Vampires and other weird mystical beast making their appearance , Make this an unputdownable, story line keeping you interested til the end , Characters an integral part of the story and the way the action flows make this in my opinion a highly recommended book, at least I Enjoyed it
Loved the premise of this book. However, the matter of the Egyptian Mummy wasn’t resolved satisfactorily for me. Did he go down with the Titanic? Will he show up in the next book (most likely)? The golem was a terrific addition! Mr. Strong nicely ties the threads of the past together. Strong characters, vivid descriptions and lots of surprises. Wow!
Decker and Mina have made it to America. After arriving in New York they try to find away back to the present. A series of brutal murders brings them a case. They ate facing a monster they have never seen. This monster is very strong covered in mud and bullets don't harm it. Will Decker and Mina be able to stop it? Fast paced read.
I loved this book, the writing is complex and storyline fascinating, the ending was a surprise but tied things together, not going to post a spoiler so I will say it answers some questions I had from previous books on the origins of CUSP. It's one of those books you will stay up late reading, I highly recommend this book and the whole John Decker series, and I hope, the new CUSP series.
Having survived the Titanic, Decker and Mina find that selves in New York. Still searching for a way home, they end up investigating a string of murders and protecting a man that could get them to the island were it all started. Good book that moves at a good pace, can Decker finally get back to his real life or is he doomed to die before being born!!
Slow story intermingled with action and suspense. Not sure what has happened we with the last two stories in the series but they have been very slow to start and fail to maintain momentum. I was halfway through the book before the first bit of action occurred— and that only lasted a short period. I am hopeful for the next book as I expect a different story arc.
I have read the entire John Decker. This author and this nook deserve 10 stars. It took a few chapters to get into tye book but once you do it is full of twist and turns.
This was such an exciting story. I so enjoyed it. The fear of them not making it home, was more than I could bare. But to keep from spoiling this book for others, I won't tell.
Loved this book, fast paced, hard to put down. I have read the entire John Decker series and eagerly awaiting the next volume. Four star rating instead of five because grammatical errors are annoying and unprofessional
John Decker and Nina end up in NYC after surviving the sinking of the Titanic. Their only hope for returning to the future is somehow crashing the wedding of Howard and Celine Rothman in 1912. But there is one major obstacle standing in their way.
I'm always interested in what adventure John Decker gets into next. This book is mind blowing. John always gets into the weirdest predicaments and always finds a way out. I would say this is one of the better books out of the whole. I recommend reading.
I'm always looking forward to the world of John Decker😄. Just sad that he didn't help catch the Japanese, monster roaming the city of New York. The ending was a bit like the ending from the movie "Final Countdown" . But still yet bravo overall the next one. Monsters beware Decker is coming.

Out of the 13 books, I found this one less enjoyable. Perhaps I didn’t like the monster and the rest of the characters. Not sure. I can’t wait to read the next book in November (bummer…)
Excellent!!! I’m so looking forward to see what happens next in “ Night Wraith”. The ending was fantastic… seeing how everything and everybody wraps around. Yes… it made my head hurt too..hahaha. Great Great series!!! Happy Reading:)
Really enjoyed this one, read it all in one sitting which is the best compliment I can give a book. Interesting creature in this one and it wraps up the whole time travel angle that has been the focus of the last few installments nicely. Looking forward to more Decker adventures!
I truly enjoyed Final Destiny. Time Travel, Vampires, a Golem and John & Mina are stuck in the middle of it all! It had a satisfying ending, too. The next book comes out to Kindle. I will have to wait for the book....:-( So, I am starting something else till then. I love John Decker!

Amazing culmination of Decker's time travel adventures
These last few books of Decker's adventures have been masterful! One exciting progressing of the story after another. And this book was super engrossing and exciting, I couldn't wait to finish it. Awesome.
