Hi everyone,

My name is Andrew Barrett and I live and work in West Yorkshire.

My CSI Eddie Collins and SOCO Roger Conniston books focus on the world of the crime scene investigator. I've been a CSI for over twenty-eight years, and try to inject an element of authenticity into each story.

And if you enjoy detectives with a difference, search out the new series featuring a sharp female lead character called DS Regan Carter.

Thanks for looking,

Andy

This box set contains the first three books in the Leeds Crime Thriller series, about a grumpy but dedicated Crime Scene Investigator working in Yorkshire’s biggest city. I read Black By Rose, (previously titled No Time to Die) and Sword of Damocles (as The Hammer Falls) back in 2018. Then in early 2022 the author published The Pain of Strangers as a new series opener, to reboot Eddie’s backstory, and “retired” the original (The Third Rule) which was a more political, dystopian type story than the rest of the series - which currently comprises six books. They’re all brilliant: compelling crime stories with flashes of twisted humour and a unique main character. The author is a practising CSI so the forensic details are fascinating and believable, if often rather gruesome. It’s helpful but not essential to read the books in order, and there are also three novellas. If you enjoy dark British police procedurals, but are looking for something a bit different, do yourself a favour and download this ebook set. You can thank me later.

Author’s blurb about each book - from his promo email:

I love this series and everything the author writes.

Eddie will make you laugh and cry as he helps find the bad guys. Mostly laugh. I love his attitude. I’m always surprised by the endings. If you like a good mystery, these are for you.

An incredible collection!

One of the most enjoyable collection of books I have read this year. A superb introduction to the most irreverent CSI that I have read about. Eddie Collins does not give a fig about anyone's feelings as long as he gets his man.
Three stories that should be read in order to understand what makes Eddie tick. Combine that with equal measures of sadness and laughter, his ways with the fairer sex and his opinions of work colleagues and this gives you a fabulous read. Twists and turns to keep you guessing in each story encourages you to just keep reading. Especially in the third book!!
Enjoyed these so much that I just have to get into the next books in the series.

The first 2 books in this series were really good but boy #3 the sword of Damocoles was great it showed Eddie really does have a heart. (he took his father in to live with him.) This book really delved into what Eddie is like but the crime was also really well described and expertly solved. Andrew Barrett is a wonderful story teller and has been a favourite of mine for a long time, I can't wait for another adventure from Mr. Barrett.

Great series

All 3 are very good standalone stories and the characters in each are very interesting. Eddie's connection with Ros throughout the series adds an extra layer which is very poignant in the end.

I enjoyed these very much and highly recommend them.
