Betrayal tore us apart, but fate was always waiting to set us on fire again.
At fourteen, I was arrogant and untouchable, until one night of devastation stole everything, including my family. I swore I’d uncover the truth and make whoever destroyed my life pay.
Nine years later, I’m Violet Clarke, the best fire investigator in Florida. My focus has never wavered, not even with a serial arsonist igniting chaos faster than I can contain it. Until Asher West storms into my life, all-consuming and impossible to ignore.
For Asher, family has always meant poison. Derek, his brother, was the only one who ever tried to shield him. But when loyalty turned into betrayal, Asher learned to survive on control, cool walls, and keeping his distance. As captain of a firehouse, he’s made sure nothing gets close...until Violet.
Now our past collides with a present built on secrets, and fire. The closer we get, the more dangerous the inferno becomes. Because old demons never stay buried. And this one wants revenge.
Burn With Me is a dark romantic suspense full of psychological twists, obsession, second chances, and a love that refuses to die, even when the flames rise higher.
Writing is not just a passion for me. It is a lifeline to my sanity.
I have always loved writing but suffer from severe dyslexia and short-term memory retention issues. I struggled in school while I worked every night on re-training my brain.
I was frequently treated like I would never succeed, and I found myself putting my love for writing on a shelf.
Even at the age of six, I found it easier to communicate with animals than people, which was a big reason why I was drawn to dressage horseback riding. I remained focused on my passion for riding until I had to step away from the competition world for personal reasons.
Today, my desire for writing and storytelling has been rekindled. I have published multiple books and will never let anyone or anything hold me back again. I am a proud romance author who offers my readers morally grey heroes, a ton of spice, epic journeys, and redemption stories. -Follow Your Dreams-
This was book 2 in the Consumed trilogy. We get Derek back, but we also get the POV of his hot firefighter brother and Violet the sassy fire investigator. There's also a fun little surprise about Asher that I was 100% down for! This book brought the heat... in and out of the bedroom.
There was chemistry and a bit of slow burn that was done to perfection, add in action and a captivating plot and I was hooked! When Asher and Vi's paths cross there is no fire that could keep them apart. They are drawn to each other and man they brought the HEAT! Frick so good!
We get some answers in this read, but we are also left with more questions - can't wait to see how this all will unfold in book 3!
WOW! This book was phenomenal! We get to dig deeper into the world of our unhinged pyromaniac Derek as he searches for his little brother Asher. These two plus Violet kept me on the edge of my seat, biting my nails with anticipation of what could possibly happen next, and squirming from all of the heat coming off the pages. It was an intense and emotional rollercoaster ride from start to finish!
I fell in love with Violet right away. She’s fierce, sassy, smart and strong and isn’t afraid to put herself in danger to help others in need. The instant attraction and intense sexual chemistry between Violet and Asher was definitely panty melting and you just knew that when these two gave into the lust and desire wafting between them, that they were going to set everything on fire! Their back and forth banter was filled with sexual innuendos and some filthy dirty talk that had my lady parts aching. I couldn’t wait for Violet to let Asher take over! They were made for each other.
Another well written addition to this trilogy that was riveting, action packed, suspenseful, thrilling, exciting and with twists and turns throughout that left me gasping at the end as it just about killed me. I can’t wait to see how this story concludes in the final book.
Burn For Me (book 1) knocked me on my @$$ and this book kept me there (and I wouldn't have it any other way 🤩).
Asher's past is far from a pretty one. He and his brother, Derek (book 1), had a childhood that broke my heart. It affects Asher to this day, evident in his need for control, both in his daily life and in the bedroom (or any room for that matter 🥵). He prefers his "relationships" to be ones with zero strings (unless it's r0pes to tie you up with 😏) ... but all of that changes when he meets Violet. She's a force to be reckoned with and gives just as good as she gets, yet still has a vulnerable side that she rarely shows to anyone. Dealing with a trauma from her own past, she has trouble letting people in, yet there's something about Asher that makes her want to. But Asher isn't the type to settle for just being let in. He wants to claim her as his own while freeing the side of Vi that he sees simmering beneath the surface. 🔥 The chemistry between the two is off the chart and don't even get me started on the couch scene. 🥵🔥🥵
Interwoven into their story is continuation of Derek's (the anti hero from book 1) and what follows is definitely a story that will keep you on your toes.
Can't wait to read to see how this all ends in book 3!
Well holy good MotherFucking Fuckity Fuck - Derek is back and he's brought his hot firefighter brother and the sassy fire investigator Violet along for the ride....they just don't know it!!!!
We'll start with the brother Asher - this man is Hot - with a capital H! He's a very serious person, has a very demanding job, a very sad past and likes control - in all aspects of his life. And the last person who would fit in with his life is Violet - the strong, sassy and obsessive fire investigator who has never got over the death of her parents.
These two shouldn't work but they do - of they seriously do and the are smoking. I loved them together and I was fully invested in their story.
So when it was put at risk by the infamous Derek, the seriously hot an tragic and firestarter, I was on the edge of my seat!!
My heart hurts so much for this man, seriously, he tears me in two and I just want to save him...
I don't really know what else to say, this book will suck you in so fast you won't even notice. It is addictive, it's sad, hot, spicy, intriguing, full of angst and just plain motherclucking brilliant! I definitely recommend reading book one, you need it to understand Derek more!
Derek lit me on fire in book one, literally and figuratively but Asher melted my heart. This is book 2 in the Consumed Trilogy and it did not disappoint. Book 1 gave us insight to Derek and book 2 allows us to see what happened to his little brother, Asher. They had a traumatic childhood which shaped both boys into the men they are today. They both took very different paths in life. Derek is very much an antihero, Asher is the hero stories are written about. Asher likes to be in charge in every aspect of his life including in the bedroom. He’s always in control but is tempted to break all of his rules when he meets Violet or Vi. Violet also had a very traumatic event in her teenage years and it still haunts her today. She’s too busy chasing ghosts to actually enjoy her life. Vi likes to be in control as well but has to learn to let go in order to be free and actually live. Asher and Vi don’t realize what they’re missing until they find each other. They truly were destined to meet and once they do, the passion and fire between them is definitely hot. The story is amazing, it’s definitely a page turner. Not only does Brooklyn write amazing stories that keep you guessing but her characters are phenomenal. It’s all the little details she includes about her characters that truly make them real. Her characters truly bring her stories to life. I love reading her books and never knowing what comes next, all the clues are there but there’s always I twist that I can never figure out. I can’t wait for the third book but I’m also excited for whatever she releases next.
Burn With Me is the second instalment in The Consumed Trilogy by Brooklyn Cross. And I’m here for it.
We start where we left off in book 1 (Burn For Me) delving straight into a brilliant, complex and multi dimensional narrative filled with twists, turns and an incredibly tense plot line.
We are introduced to Asher, a hot as hell Fire Chief, and Derek’s estranged brother! We find out about past events and secrets are unveiled!
A beautifully crafted narrative that will keep you guessing and needing more. I loved these brothers and their complicated dynamics.
Violent, a fire investigator and hell bent on uncovering the truth of her parent’s demise. Meets Asher on the job… A fierce and feisty woman who can meet Asher’s conflicted, defences with ease. Sparks eventually catch and their dynamic is electric!
A beautifully constructed fast paced, multi POV, dark and deeply emotional journey from beginning right to the cliff’s edge.
Brooklyn delivers yet another thrilling narrative that will have you on the edge of your seats and white knuckling your tablet for the duration of your read!
Again, just wow. As we continue with Derek's story, we now have Asher and Violet come into the picture. Asher, who turned in Derek when they were boys after Derek killed their parents and two other people, continues to beat himself up for thinking he wronged his brother. His life now as a firefighter is consumed with saving people and staying as far away for any relationship as he can. Violet, well, strange twists are brought to light where she is concerned. She is the fire investigator charged with finding the arsonist who is wrecking havoc on their city, and on a mission to find the person resposible for killing her parents. Makes for a good plot twist, and it definitely was.
When Asher and Violet first meet the sparks between them were undeniable, even though both tried their hardest to resist them. The chemistry between Asher and Violet was off the charts hot. Great steamy scenes and lots of banter keeps their growing relationship very enjoyable.
Derek continues his "burning" quest to set as many people on fire as he can, but starts to target those that have wronged others, whether he realizes that is what he is doing or not. We see a shift in his vengence and mindset, but his brutality is still quite ingenious. His journey is evolving and fun to watch.
Definitely 5 stars for me and can't wait for book three.
Our favorite pyromaniac Derek is back and ready for revenge on those he deems are unworthy to live. His brother Asher is his main target for his part in Derek being sent to an asylum and tortured for years. If you haven’t read the first book in this series stop and read it first it’s in only Derek’s POV and you will understand why he is the way he is.
Book 2 has 3 POV’s Derek, Asher and Violet, they will lead you to the fiery moment that Derek and his brother Asher are reunited. Asher is a firefighter now and he meets Violet after she rescues a woman from her apartment fire, she’s also a fire investigator with her own mission. She wants to know who killed her parents in a house fire when she was 14. They join forces to try and find out who their serial arsonist is. Asher never imagined how close to home that person was.
It’s a small world and the twists in this book will have you at the edge of your seat.
Derek is extremely smart and clever, the plan he set up at the end was of an evil genius and will have you yelling at the author for even getting you worked up for even thinking that it was a possibility. To know what I’m talking about you must read this series!!
Okay, okay. I am brimming with adrenaline here. I was so excited to read this after the first book.and oh mylanta this book is straight fire!! We get more of Derek, which yes, please, and then throw in his brother Asher, this is one fine book.
Derek is stalking his brother because of what his brother did when they were younger. He is furious that it seems like his brother betrayed him then never thought about Derek again.
Asher is a firefighter and also a Dom and is oh so hot. He fights fire because of things that happened in his past. When he meets a woman that ran into a fire, he is instantly intrigued by her.
Violet is a fire investigator and also has a past that isn't pretty that has drawn her to solving fire cases. When she meets Asher, she is definitely hot for him but doesn't trust easily.
What will happen when Asher and Violet spend more time together? Will Derek get his revenge on his brother or will there be more than he actually knew that happened? Oh my, so much happens in this book and a definite must read! I love some of the side characters too! Beck is great and funny, and Ava makes me laugh with her quirkiness and want to know what happened to her. Love, love this book and onto the next!
OMG, Brooklyn—this was SO good! Friends, do not let another day go by without diving into this trilogy. Burn With Me is book two in the Consumed Trilogy, and it takes the heat to a whole new level. Derek, the “Pyro Vigilante,” is on the loose, determined to leave flames in his wake. But the sparks really fly when Violet and Asher finally come together—I mean really heat up, in more ways than one. Let’s be honest, we all need an Asher in our lives. Meanwhile, Derek is keeping tabs on his brother. He’s the big bad boy you just want to hug and tell, “It’s going to be okay.” My heart ached for him, even while his internal dialogue had me cracking up. (iykyk 🤭) And seriously—how dare someone else take credit for his work! Asher, on the other hand, is struggling with feelings he’s never experienced before, while Violet tries to figure out what exactly their “relationship” even is. Along the way, secrets are revealed, torment from the past is finally laid to rest, and by the end, Asher and Violet get their own Merry Christmas 🤭 “Meet me where the baby rabbits used to play.” And of course, Brooklyn, the queen of cliffhangers, leaves us hanging once again with that final line: “Unfinished business”
This book was so enthralling! I freaking loved it! I was on the edge of my seat/beanbag/couch in every chapter! Such a thrilling read! It moved at such a rapid pace as each chapter added layers to this intricate and delicate plot so seamlessly. The triple POV was really enjoyable as the reader got to be be immersed in every detail of the plot as it unfolds. I love the way the MC’s stories all interconnect and were woven throughout. So much detail and depth and research has gone into this book. I adored learning more about Derek and his experience of the world, his MOU. Derek is definitely one of my fave characters of Brooklyn’s. Derek’s brother Asher, who is the MC of this tale, definitely has some special spicy skills which I found quite pleasurable to read! Violet, the FMC is such a brave, intelligent and epic character with so much smarts and sass I loved her! Side piece characters, as true Brooklyn style, were hilarious and provided much comic relief throughout some of the more traumatic moments. I need to know more! Cannot wait for the final instalment of this trilogy. Such a great read! 5/5
Violet is one of the best fire detectives there is, and with a mission to find the people who destroyed her life and family, she isn't here to play around. Asher is a solitary man from a different kind of family. He prefers to keep his relationships to a non-existent level and succeeded in doing until Violet came along. But both have secrets and ghosts that may come back to haunt them and engulf them in flames right when their relationship begins.
Brooklyn Cross is one of those authors that I will always want to read. They have put out so many books that just captivate me and keep me on the edge of my seat and this book is no exception. Being that it's book two in the series, I would expect the story to slow down and pick up on the final book. Not with this one. The author has kept the series at a consistent level of excitement and intrigue that keeps me invested in the characters and the story. I never feel like there is a dull moment and the steam is just *chefs kiss*. I also love that Derek made his appearance in this book alongside his brother, since he was very much the anti-hero in the previous book.
TITLE: Burn With Me GENRE: Dark Romance AUTHOR: Brooklyn Cross TROPE: Serial-Unaliver, Pyromaniac, Vigilante TYPE: Series (The Consumed Trilogy Book 2) POV: Multiple POV MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 / 5
⚠️ Check trigger warnings; this dark content is for +18 readers.
Derek's story continues in Burn With Me, but this time, we also get the point of view of his estranged brother Asher, now a fire chief, and Violet (Vi), a fire investigator investigating the rash of arson fires. Derek's revenge plan is set into motion, targeting his brother due to Asher's betrayal when he turned Derek in to the police, leading to Derek's institutionalization and abuse by the doctors and staff there.
The second book in the series had even more angst and spice, gripping me in the storyline until the cliffhanger ending. My anticipation grew while waiting to see how the reunion between the brothers would play out with Derek's revenge plan looming. I am counting down the days until book three in the trilogy releases on Jan 31, 2024. I am giving a rating of 4.5 / 5 stars.
I’m loving this series so much! In book 1, we meet Derek, our fave unhinged pyromaniac, and get glimpse of his brother, Asher. In BURN WITH ME, Derek is back again and is searching for his firefighter brother, Asher.
We get more of their backstory and find out what happened to Asher. They both had a traumatic path but they grew up to lead two very different lives. Derek is more of an anti-hero whereas Asher is your typical Hero, and as a firefighter, wants to save lives. Asher is super HOT. He doesn’t do relationships but then he meets Violet, who makes rethink his “no strings attached” stance.
Violet, a fire investigator, is fierce, sassy, and just an overall badass. She has her own traumatic past that she’s dealing with. She is guarded but something about Asher makes her want to let him in. And man, the two of them are explosive!
I’m so looking forward to book 3! I can’t wait to see how the trilogy ends! 5⭐️
Thanks so much, Brooklyn, for the gifted book. All opinions are my own! 💕
“Burn with me” is book 2 in the “consumed trilogy”
This series is consuming my every waking thought! I am flying through this series Brooklyn Cross will definitely keep your attention with they phenomenal series.
This book focuses on Dereks brother Asher who is a firefighter. Asher and Derek have a traumatic past one which no children should ever have to go through. When Asher meets Vi these two go head to head and I don’t think there’s anyone more perfect for Asher than Vi. Their chemistry was off the charts, but there is an arsonist out on the loose will Vi and Asher be able to catch the person responsible for setting these fires without putting them selves in danger?
“Burn with me” is full of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I am throughly loving this journey and I can’t wait to get my hands on the final book in this trilogy.
Burn with Me by Brooklyn Cross packs an intense punch that will leave you absolutely breathless & begging for more.
As usual, Brooklyn delivers a pulse pounding, breath stealing, thrilling novel that will be on my mind for weeks to come.
In this story, we meet Derek's younger brother Asher, now a grown, sexy firefighter and sassy Vi, the fire inspector, investigating a serial arsonist. They work together in hopes to solve the mystery. Their banter is delicious and the spice is toe curling perfection.
Oh. I forgot to mention. My Avenging Fire Angel of death Derek, pyro-extrodinaire vigilante... is back and has unfinished business with his brother.
Burn with Me is Book two in the Consumed trilogy. After that cliffhanger, I cannot wait to get my hands on the next one!
Be sure to read the trigger warnings before diving in. This book is not for the faint-hearted. Your mental health matters. 🫶
LOVE! All the love for this trilogy and yes I’m only on book 2. Burn With Me is book 2 in the Consumed Trilogy and once again, I have fallen hard and fast. We still have Derek, our beautiful anti-hero, who I will never get enough of. I know, I know, but I can’t help myself. We now have his brother Asher and well yeah, he is panty obliterating goodness. Violet is incredible. Her sass, strength, smarts and resilience are on full display with zero fucks given, and I love it. Both Asher and Violet are comfortable with their set ways and rules behind protective walls. It is beautiful to read as they bend and break together. This book is captivating from page one, action packed filled with suspense and looming danger and all unfolds at a perfect pace. Questions are answered while more leave our minds reeling. The incredible evolution of the story as layer after layer is revealed had my mouth agape. I cannot express how heart gripping this ending is and the need for book three is real.
The second book on the trilogy follows Asher, Derek’s brother. The same brother that turned him in for killing his abusive parents. I went into the story biased because I really fell in love with Derek in the first book. This book gave more insight to Derek’s abuse but we also learn about Asher and why he did what he did and what he went through. Asher has his own trauma and guilt that he lives with. He quickly found his way into my heart as well. Violet has been on a mission to find out who murdered her parents and has really put her life on hold obsessing over it. This story has got its hooks into me and by the end I was a crying mess. I could feel the pain that these characters have experienced and I love when an author is able to do that. I can’t wait to start the third book in the series.
I loved this! It's Asher & Violet's story & picks off from bk.1. This was awesome & The Queen of Cliffhangers strikes again!! In this we get Asher's POV & obviously it's very different than what Derek thought. Violet & Asher are freaking awesome together! The chemistry was amazing & I loved watching their story unfold! She's an arson investigator & they work together to figure out who's behind it all. Derek wants him to know who it is, because he has his own plans for his brother. Violet has been obsessed with finding out who was behind her parents' death in a fire & is getting closer. But secrets & danger surrounds them both. A lot of things happen & come together; you get answers, but more questions need answering. I loved this story & the spice was fantastic!! I cannot wait until the next one!! Highly recommend this trilogy & this author!
What was that!! Brooklyn, you really know how to pull at someone's heart strings and then BOOM!! Cliffy!! This book had me OBSESSED and even though Derek is my guy, Asher is tasty too. *wink* So in this read we meet Asher, Derek's little brother all grown up with very specific taste. #IYKYK And he caught the eye of the sassy and sarcastic fire investigator, Violet Carter. When things between them become blurred, good ol' Derek is always there in the shadows. I thought book one had me hooked. Hell to the nah, I was wrong. We get a few answered questions and more to the main story in this read. Asher is simply delicious and the brat in Violet had me screaming!! And let's not forget the spice!! 🥵🔥 But Derek is still himself now set on revenge and let's not forget Ava. I need more of her and her energy!! Run to grab this series!
Derek is watching his brother Asher. Asher is a firefighter and he meets Violet who is a fire investigator. The sparks between are intense, but Violet fights it. They are looking into a serial arsonist. Working together brings them closer, but danger is right by them. Can they be together and find the arsonist before he finds them? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. I love Derek. Love Asher and Violet and their character development. Great supporting characters. This book has so many twists and turns and I couldn’t put it down. This is book 2 ends with a cliffhanger. Read your trigger warnings. Book 3 will be out the end of January 2024. Love this book and world.
Well the first book floored me so no surprise this one would surprise me as well.
My favorite pyro, Derek, is back and loveable as ever in that very morally gray way. His POV added to the other two’s was the icing on the cake.
And oh…my my… Asher. Way to send a guy like that my way. I love a sexy firefighter and his dom kink was epic. Violet the FMC is one lucky lady. And might I say she is a total badass herself.
Arsonist still around to cause terror and havoc and Violet is the one trying to solve the crimes while trying to do so with parents’ death at the hands of a arsonist. Suspense thrown in and that ending - Just wow!
* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
Yes I went there with that pun . What can I say I loved Burn For Me and didn’t think it could get better than that but holy hotness Asher is just smoking hot and in several scenes I was sure my panties were going to spontaneously combust .Ok I’ll stop the with the fire related puns now and say I can’t wait for book 3.
This is book two in The Consumed Trilogy and once again Brooklyn Cross has written a brilliant and dark steamy read! I was hooked from beginning to end and completely lost in the story. The characters are absolutely amazing and I definitely felt their emotions while reading. I loved the relationship between Violet and Asher and the steam they bring to the pages! This is one of those books that saying it is five stars is not enough it is so much more and I don't really have the words. Please do heed and triggers and if you can handle them I absolutely say this book is a must read!
I was excited to start book 2. I couldn’t wait to dive into Asher’s story ! I loved the relationship between Violet and Asher and the steam they bring to the pages! Asher is a firefighter and total smoke show who’s a fucking DOM🥵. Like hello…You can come put my fire out anytime🔥💦 Violet is a Fire investigator that lost her parents in a fire when she was younger! The dynamics of these two together was pure 🔥 the plot & story line was fantastic! I absolutely love how the past came to light, and we saw everyone’s POV of what happens. The end Omgoodness I shedded a few tears, and of course! Bam cliffy…5 ⭐️ 3🌶️
This book was very good and does pull you in to have you wanting to find out what happens with Asher and Violet along with Derek. This is definitely an emotional roller coaster of a read. Was it worth the emotional damage that it gave me hell yes it was. Would I reread it to get the emotional damage that it brought yep sure would. Asher is a firefighter and Violet is a fire investigator that is how they ended up meeting Derek, Asher’s brother also had a play in them meeting. With this being book 2 it is different characters but does pick up right where book one ends can’t wait to read book 3 concluding the series to see what happens next.
I loved Burn For Me and could not wait to read this one. Was not disappointed!
The chapters coming from the three different viewpoints (Derek, Asher and Vi) gave insight into how arson had affected their lives in different ways, including the jobs they'd taken as adults.
I enjoyed the way the story unfolded, all these little things interconnecting along the way.
I loved Asher and Vi together! They weren't what they thought they wanted, but were exactly what the other needed.
The ending left me intrigued. I'll be eagerly awaiting book 3!
Brooklyn Cross’s second book in her The Consumed Trilogy really consumed my every thought. The characters were wonderfully written with a marvelous storyline that came full circle. But yet the very last sentence left you thinking and wondering if there was more to come. The book was full of exciting adventure, mystery, suspense, steamy situations with twists and turns that was so riveting I couldn’t put it down until the last page. I can’t wait to see what this author has planned next. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!
Don’t even know where to begin. This book kept me on the edge in the best ways. I love Asher. He was Derek’s brother and he didn’t know what happened to Derek after they were separated. Asher looked for him with his adoptive mom but they couldn’t get any information. Derek ended up finding Asher but he didn’t know Derek was around until the end of the book. Asher was a fire fighter who met a fire investigator who was involved in looking into some of the fires. She asked for Asher’s help. They became really close.
