Twists are a natural part of life. Whether on the pages in a book or in the real world. Lets face it, things that keep us guessing are what makes it interesting. As I also love stories with twists, you will find I try to sneak them into my stories. Doesn't matter if it's romance or a mystery... so keep an eye out.
So, here is the basic break down. I am the oldest of 4 half brothers. I grew up in Utah and I live in Idaho. I burn the candle at 15 ends on a good day - which is why I get the compliment "You look tired" so often- HA.
Some of the things I fill my time with are my family, my business - both writing and teaching preschool, sewing, reading, baking, cake decorating, drawing, singing, home improvement, yard work... well, you get it.

After reading the most recent book in the Wishing for Love series (A Cranberry Wish) I went back to the beginning to see where it all started. Unfortunately this book didn’t live up to my expectations after enjoying the other one.
That's not to say it's bad. It is fun, romantic holiday fluff that will give you that Hallmark Christmas movie feeling. The setting is quaint and adorable, perfect for getting some Christmas spirit.
The relationship was....alright. Parts of it were cute, but it also seemed crazy that there was talk of love and relocating to a new city after a few days. And while I love the tension of a couple wanting to get together despite the obstacles in their way, they really belabored the agonizing over their decisions until I was rolling my eyes and just wanted them to get on with it.
So, while I wasn't overly impressed with this initial offering in the series, liking the characters, the town, and knowing that one of the later books is improved, I'd be willing to give the next one a shot.

It’s great to return to the cozy town of Breckenridge. I enjoyed the threads of humor and the wintery peace of Christmas. It’s always fun to read a book where the main character is an author. I feel like I’m getting an inside peel into the behind the scenes for all of these books I consume as I am also, high five Lucian, a voracious reader. We must be similar ages because I also believe he grew up reading about Alexander’s day.
This was a lovely small town, celebrity romance. I enjoyed the festivities and our author’s journey in figuring out what she wants. Though, I’m definitely on Lucian’s side. It’s been awhile since I’ve read from Shuey and it was great to settle in for a snowy Christmas romance with all of the warmth and joy that entails.

Set in a small town, we have Lucian, an actor who left that career behind to open an inn and protect his heart. And we have Holly, an author whose heart was brazenly broken, causing her to miss deadlines and lose her job as a writer, and is now looking to forget about love. Her friend Tiffany encourages her to hit the road and head for a B&B in Idaho to spend Christmas. With both Lucian and Holly not interested in risking their hearts again, the reader is ready to watch the fallout as the two of them meet. The attraction is definitely there, but will they give love a second chance and believe in each other? Or will the arrival of Holly’s smug ex-boyfriend Cole wanting her back be a deal-breaker and destroy the new romance before it can get started?

The holidays always add an unexpected twist to any story. Good characters that have flaws and issues they have to deal with as they work through them and toward a budding romance. There are some usual roadblocks in the way. A few twists and turns as well. But there are also some heartwarming and good moments for the couple. Good read.

This was a sweet romance that pulls at your heart and keeps you with each turn of the page.
Holly and Lucian have both experienced heartbreaks. For Lucian he decided to leave his life and open a BnB. Holly needed to escape the memories and found a place get away.
They connection between the character is there, but their past has them pushing it away. Good feel read.

An adorable Christmas story centered in the magical town of Breckenridge - where romance wishes can come true. An engaging story about a romance author who can't seem to find love of her own until she meets handsome ex-movie star who is suffering from the same ailment. Together they overcome the hurdles that stand in their way to finding true love. A lovely read at Christmas time or any time the romantic in you needs a lift!

Cute, easy read. Follows all the traditional expectations for a Christmas story. Fluffy romance. Good palate cleanser if you're looking for something quick and fun.
