General Douglas MacArthur said, "There are two things worse than death. One is to lose your freedom and the other is to lose your honor." A person cannot thrive or reach their full potential in an atmosphere of dishonor. Even Jesus was limited in what He could do in his hometown because of the lack of honor. Honor is essential but it is not automatic. It must be taught by precept and example. Not only should the significance and value of honor be taught, but also the blessings and rewards. Honor will always cost you something. You can respect with words, but you honor with substance.
“You will reap a harvest of the honor you sow because that is the way the kingdom of Heaven functions.”
“Humility is crucial for people in leadership.”
“When you serve as unto the Lord in private, God will reward you openly.”
“God is not a rewarder of offices or talents, but He is a rewarder of faithfulness.”
“You cannot receive revelation and anointing from a person that you criticize.”
“God does not reward natural talents, He rewards faithfulness and obedience.”
“If you want to have a great influence on the people around you, you have to believe in them.”
“It is important to recognize what true humility is. Sometimes people get the idea that humility is talking poorly about yourself, but when you do that you are actually still focusing on yourself. True humility is when you focus on Jesus more than yourself.”
“I like how Smith Wigglesworth said, "You need to see how wonderful you are in God, and how helpless you are in yourself."”
