Elena Lockwood travels to Europe with her college to save her from a lonely summer. When a classmate takes a necklace from a museum in Scotland and tries to throw it into a lake, Elena is quick to act and save the artifact. The moment she touches the jewel, she is transported back to a time when magic and other inhuman creatures existed. There she meets Killian, a demon with a bad attitude, who agrees to go on a journey with Elena in search of the blessed items that will hopefully get her home.
Perfect for readers who enjoy books involving time travel romances, enemy-to-lovers, slow burn romances and fantasy. This is also perfect for those who enjoy watching Outlander and Inuyasha.
Elena just travels to save her summer and is so innocent.. then a stolen necklace?? Transporting back in time? Meeting a demon and it being a slow.. sloooowww burn with her and Killian. Good read!
⭐️⭐️⭐️💫/5 It’s a fun and interesting premise and I genuinely loved the ending. The ending was perfection.
There are parts of this book that is a little absurd. The king like immediately proposes she be the queen…? He has like zero reasoning for this. And the same with the Cordelia situation. I need these actions to make sense. I think this book would be better if it was 100-200 pages longer and characters were more fully fleshed out.
This book is basically a novella and it’s hard to build a world and characters and have a plot in less than 200 pages, so this book is very good considering that.
This has got to be one of my favorites. Love how SJ Frey immediately throws you into the time travel mystery - so many exciting twists throughout too! I especially loved the romance between Elena and Killian, sooooo good!
