A long time ago I was born in Los Angeles. That's where I spent many of my formative years. After I became an adult, I moved around for a bit before ending up in a small town in Oregon, very similar to Bailey's hometown. Greenhearth is fake, if you haven't already Googled that, but it's like many small towns with less than 1,000 people.
My pets... I love animals, especially my two even if they do create havoc in my daily life. I have a cat, named Snowstorm, Storm for short. Then I have a rescue, Josephine. She's a Labradoodle - I think. It's hard to say but it's the best I can come up with.
What I'm working on... I'm already working on the next book in the series - was working on it before Bad Attitude came back from editing. And now that it has released, need to stay on track with A Bit Aggressive.

Accepted is book three in the Para-Military Recruiter series by Renée Jaggér & Michael Anderle. It’s another fast paced action packed read.
It wraps up the Yeti issue, finding the missing Vampire Prince, and discover a darker plot that looks like it will continue throughout the series until it’s solved.
Julie has made some unexpected ally’s for a human. We get a lovely wedding, a trial, and a big surprise at the end of the story.
She is dealing with everything quite well and the plot is developing nicely. The characters continue to be a lot of fun; especially Hat.
Accepted was another fun read and I’m looking forward to the next installment.
I’m not clear why this series gets such high ratings - perhaps it is better as a written book, rather than as an audiobook? For certain, the issues in the writing are very clear (and very annoying / dear author, please learn about this marvelous thing called the compound sentence…or the complex sentence, or even the complex-compound sentence! “Julie snorted. Taylor chortled.” So many short sentences like this - especially over and over - drive me bananas! And for real - I have never before known characters that snorted and chortled so much!!!)
However, I must say that even as I start to wonder why in the world I wasted a Hoopla borrow on one of these books, I totally get sucked in by the second half and immediately borrow the next one!
Still recovering from the concussion she'd got in the sewers, when fighting the Yeti, Julie isn't feeling great, that she's been refused leave to go back to work immediately.
But, spending a few days at home, shows Julie that all isn't well with Lillie, her Landlady,, friend, & adopted Grandmother.
Unfortunately,, as soon as she returns to work, Julius Nox, the Head Vampire, and one of the Royal 7 families, tells Captain Kaplan, Taylor, & herself, that Malcolm, his Son and heir, has disappeared.
Of course, Julie is on the case immediately, but a confrontation with Cassidy, Malcolm's very bitchy fiance, becomes a boon, as a special connection between them means that Julie can use Cassidy to trace Malcolm - with the help of Taylor, plus the six Were's that he and Julie managed to get to join the PMA.
This event starts a whole lot of running, chasing, fighting, and other shenannigans, and Julie and Taylor have their hands full trying to get to the bottom of the kidnapping.
What they discover, makes huge waves among the paranormals but what rocks Julie's world are two things she didn't want to face, but had to.
The first involves her Mum, Rosa, coming to stay for a while, but the second rocks Julie's world!
But Julie is made of stern stuff and, as far as she's concerned, the show must go on!
I'm really loving this continuation of Julie's story. The characters are very believable, the story gets better and better with every book i read, and the whole premise of it all is wondetfully Human - Or not, as the case may be!
I'm.very much looking forward. to reading Book 4: 'Lead', next so, without a pause, I'm going to start it as soon as I finish this review.',
Once I finish 'Lead,' I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!
Julie is recovering from their run-in with the Yeti in the sewers, healing human slow with Tylenol for her concussion. Unexpectedly, she gets a visit from Julius Nox, king of the vampires, who wants to discuss his son with her. When she finds out that Cassidy was actually Malcolm’s choice, and not a dynastic decision of Julius’s, she starts to wonder…
Then, Malcolm disappears, and Julie learns about the Quickening, a maturation surge experienced by vampires on the cusp of adulthood. An aspect of the Quickening is obsessing about one thing, and it looks like for Malcolm, his focus is the Yeti that attacked him.
Julie and Taylor are dispatched to find Malcolm - by any means necessary - which they use to raid the artifact warehouse under Hat’s direction. But finding Malcolm becomes messy and dangerous; there is a conspiracy afoot to do more than disrupt the PMA. Destroying a dark circle, rescuing Malcolm and Qtana, and freeing the Yeti from mind control, pales next to the arrest of Qbit.
Protecting this world will take more than recruiting new people to the PMA, but we don’t know all the parameters yet.
I am flying through reading this series! There was so much more action and so much more of the story unfolding in this one- we are truly barely scratching the surface of what's really going on. Also it's still clean!!! I'm always thankful for clean books.
I have my own theories of what I think is going on but I don't wanna post on here to keep it spoiler free if it turns out right. To be honest it's not like a billion things happening in one book, it's all connected to the same storyline but it doesn't have to do all this extra stuff like some other books for it to still be really entertaining. I can't wait for the next book to come out and I wonder how long it'll take for all 9 books to come out.
Also on a side note I'm not really into who I think they're leaning towards for a love interest. There's nothing there for me between them, he feels more like a younger sibling than anything else. I feel like if it does unfold it'll kinda have me disinterested. I just don't get any vibes from them at all.
After the fight with the Yeti’s in the sewers, the PMA start looking into the escape, it had to be an inside job. A briefing is held to check everyone’s innocence. She meets the truth sayers of the group – three sphynx cats, who are more than they seem. But before she can figure what’s going on, she is called to an emergence meeting. The vampire, Malcolm, has gone missing. Because they haven’t found the problem in the PMA, Julie, Taylor and the six werewolves that they recruited, are sent to investigate. They are the only ones that are definitely clear. There is also a problem with Julie’s landlord, Lillie, and Julie’s mom, Rosa, shows up to help – she means well but – wow, what a pain. This book has a fair amount of action, mystery, suspense, humour and some big surprises. The magical Hat is in fine form and seems to get more powerful each book. It is a really quick read, in fact I was surprised it had as many pages as it did, I just flew through this book. Fast and enjoyable. Nothing earthshattering, just a light read that isn't too fluffy.
Stumbled onto this series while browsing through kindle book recommendations, and ended up binging the first two books at the start of the week. Tried to go on to book three, but it wasn’t out yet (curses!) but was very grateful to see that I didn’t have to wait months for the third book. Thanks to the author, the end of book two had me itching to find out what was up with the who Yeti situation - not a sentence I thought I’d ever write - and book three delivered. I had fun with this mystery. It’s full of action and furthers the plot nicely, while keeping Julie on her feet as she learns to deal with the crazy situation she’s found herself in. Taylor, Hat, Kaplan, Nox, and Lillie are all great characters to have Julie bounce off, and the addition of a certain secretive Sphynx had my Spidey-senses twanging. Can’t wait to find out the answer to the grenade dropped at the end of the book.
I received this Audiobook for free. My opinions are my own.
Real rating 3.5* (rounded up because I am not dropping the series)
I did not like this one as much. Possible reasons include: A bit more "language" / A more episodic (or just disjointed) plot / A possible plot twist that disappoints me (see in the spoiler section below)
That said - I am still enjoying the main characters, and am hopeful that we may be getting some good female friendships in the future, and will therefore keep going.
Narration: Still good quality audio & a great performance.
POSS SPOILER (a guess on my part) * * * * * * * * * I was really appreciating the premise of a human in the paranormal world (and the fact that there is a known gene that makes this rare but possible, rather than her being the first). But it now appears to me that she is going to turn out to be the supposedly stillborn princess who is mentioned. I am disappointed, since "the missing heir" is so common a trope.
the only down thing I can think about with these books, is that they do NOT end, you have to wait for the next installment, but "luckily" for me, I found them after the series had been completed ( I assume completed). I am absolutely LOVING this series, Julie, her landlady Lillie, her Mother, her co-workers and friends. and I must say, I do love to hate Qbili (sorry if I got the spelling wrong). To get to the meat of the issue, oh Hat has been dropping not so subtle hints, that Julie ignores, about her and now the good doctor has been running blood tests and freaking out a bit, that is all I will say so far, not that we have learned anything, but I do have my suspicions
Seriously. What is with the cliffhangers? I am truly enjoying this series even though it is almost completely out of my normal. I've read romances and apocalyptic books with paranormal components but I've never gotten into the whole monsters and the like. These books are seriously enjoyable but the cliffhangers really stink.
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone over 16ish. There is no intimacy but there is moderate language and violence. There is also references to and scenes which contain dark magic.
Lots happening and our heroine is very engaging. Quite a few mysteries, but things keep moving, moving, moving and solutions are evasive. I did take issue with descriptions of horrible violence being done to Julie's body so that at the LEAST she had bruised (if not broken) ribs. However, in the next moment she is jumping to her fear and then marching along and anyone who has EVER had a bruised or pulled rib knows that shit ain't happening. Is it ignorance on the author's part or foreshadowing? Can't wait to find out!
I'm on the edge of my seat! No spoilers! I'm committed to the series. Lately , series I have started by third or fourth book I bored it a chore to continue, that is so not true with these books. Thank you so much for renewing my faith in a good book or series of book, I was beginning to think, I was falling out of love with reading. It seems I'm gonna have to search harder to fine a quality book
We had a fantastic court cast in Avalon, nasty attitudes seem to cross all normal and paranormal species. Oh! And the epic Yeti battle against evil mind control guy and our fearless recruiters. And a wedding. So much going on, but my favorite is dress shopping in Avalon. Just come join the adventure.
Congratulations to Renee Jagger and Michael Anderle for this intriguing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in their stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
Julie's friend Malcolm disappears and she and her friends are pretty sure the Yeti have taken him. Once they track him down they finally find out who is behind the Yeti's strange behavior and now need to find out who the mastermind is that is running it all. This series is really good and I always have a hard time putting the books down.
I'm enjoying this series, but the pacing on them is so strange. They start out with a basic problem that they need to solve and you think "That's what this book is going to be about", but that issue actually gets resolved at the halfway point, followed by a long epilogue, and then some new crisis comes up and the book abruptly ends.
This is the best so far, a ton more action magic, snark and humour. The characters are really starting to gel as their backstories emerge, and the worldbuilding is excellent as usual. Full of twists and turns battles and surprises and the traitor is revealed, or is he? Fast-paced action from the first page this is not to be missed, Baz.
On the job training in a live environment let's our author explore all kinds of obscure possibilities. While world building we are treated to a wide range of paranormal types and then technology gets added to the mix. It's a complete twist when the story takes human myths and explains them with paranormal traits.
The third book in this series and it's as fresh as ever. The plot takes the reader to surprising places and the action never stops. It's a great series if you just want to have some fun. You're guaranteed to read this with a smile on your face.
I keep saying better and better and I mean it. I just read this straight through this morning. There are some surprises I didn't see coming. They make it even better. For a recruiter, Julie gets in a lot of battles. I love it.
This is certainly one of those - you turn the page anxiously awaiting to see what is next and... nothing, thats it, fini. Aaaaaaaaarrrrrggh! I hate / love books like this.
Ok so some excitement and a twist? I'm intrigued! Good time to ask Mom wth? I keep forgetting that she is a recruiter because she's so involved in EVERYTHING! I am hoping that Dragon will resurface soon so bring in the next book!
I can’t wait for the next book!! This one felt short, probably because I zoomed through it so quickly. It’s a good, fast read with excellent characters.
I am thoroughly enjoying the read, even though the para world seems to be on a precipice. Is some evil being behind the scenes trying to get control through murder?
The story was over before I even knew it because it was so good. The twists and turns in this continuation of the series has some vital clues as to the nefarious plot underway. Looking forward to book 4.
This storyline keeps getting better and that is rare .
I love all the characters even Hat. I really love Lillie she is a very special lady. And I remember the first time I ever met a Gemini Genevieve but I think he was a boy.
3.5 stars Again, I would say this is a very constant series. It delivers a frolicking good, action packed good time with essentially no romance. It's fun. Am I going to read the full series? You betcha. Will it be a favorite or a re-read? Nope.
OH such tension, a vampire prince missing, prisonners escaped, loosing partner...nothing is easy for Julie but i so like this series but what a cliffhanger this time; more tension, more secret, sphinx are too funny i really want more
Temperature rising!! Still working my way through the box here and this one ups the ante so much. Dark magic, Yetis, missing royalty and secrets….can the recruiters pull it all off? Of course they can… lots of characters develop in this one with hints of so much more on the way….
