Okay, I read all of these in super quick succession because they all felt like they should be one book instead of six. Maybe this book should have been the beginning of the second book. Either way, I ended up stopping because I felt like I was spending money on one of those reading apps where you pay per chapter, and I got sick of it. I would probably rate higher if not for that, but it really did bug me. I was loving the premise, but it feels drawn out, and by now, these characters are just annoying me because it feels like they need more development and emotional depth for their actions (Giselle's specifically) to make sense. I want to know what happens, but I am too tired to keep stopping and buying the next book what feels like every hour.
Which end is up? What’s true, what’s a lie? Can Giselle ever catch a break? Or at least the heart of a man who truly wants her for HER, and not just for her job or stress relief?
As much as I’m glad that Carlo and Stefan both get heaps of misery this time, we’re still all wondering what’s going to tear everything apart. Giselle and Nick are spending time together, Carlo and Stefan are fighting like crazy, Eve is happy Nick and Giselle are getting along, and it looks like Giselle’s past is getting closer. And the heartbreak of knowing that yet again, she’s truly the spare wheel in every situation sends her back to her original job. But she’s not expecting the first client. At all. And honestly, neither was I. I wonder what he has to say or if he’s only looking to further shatter her heart. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
I don't care what anyone says. It is not cool to sleep with your so call best friend's husband, no matter how much that friend beg you to sleep with said husband. I used to like Nick, until his horny ass couldn't wait until his wife who's pregnant with twins, and on bed rest for weeks. Agreed to sleep with Giselle, for money until Eve, gave birth. I used to like this series until that particular episode. Poor Carlo, and Stefan, had to stand by and watch, while pining after her. Why?! I don't know, after she slept with both of them knowing that they're bothers. But they didn't know that she knew. Now both are in love with her, and fighting over her, because neither can have her, because of a pact they made. She's not worth it. Until we find out about His else's back story. I will continue to dislike her. As for Nick...he's no longer my favorite. That damn man, could have said no to sleeping with his wife's, friend, because she asked him to. He, both of them should have told Eve, we won't have sex together until you give birth. I don't want to buy anymore of these books. But I'm committed because like a moth to the flame, I want to see how this ends.
I’m beginning to get bored. The wind-up is long. It feels as if the author is creating empty space to fill pages. The story is dragging instead of picking up.
This is book six in the series and it does not disappoint. Giselle finds herself falling into helping Nick and Eve in ways she didn’t expect. Things with Carlo and his brother are still rocky and filled with lots of turmoil and angst. Giselle faces some hard moments and you can’t help but feel your heart break for her often. I can’t wait for the next book to see what is going to happen with everyone next.
"Defying the King" (The Savrano Crime Family Book 6) by Jessa York was a terrific read. I loved this latest part of Giselle's story. This story had romance, passion, billionaires, mafia, family, friends, and more. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. Highly recommend it to all fans of romance, passion, mafia, billionaires, and series.

Defying the King was hot. At the turn of every page, there were flames setting my fingers on fire Ms. York once again had me speechless. Giselle finally followed her best friend's request. Stephen and Carlo were at each other's throats but why since they both walked away from Giselle? What about the women in their lives? Are they just for show or is there more to it? Do they love them or are they still hung up on Giselle? When they both find out that Giselle has a secret that stuns them, what will they do? When Asher finds out some information about Giselle, what happens? Could her past be catching up to her? The ending had her back working for Ilona but it was her first client that had my head spinning. What will Ms.York have in store for us in book 7? Will her past catch up? Will she walk away from her client?
I really need to make some popcorn while reading these because DAMN!! Reading these like a spectator at an epic battle is happening. Boy Stefan and Carlo are really reaping what they sow due to how they both treated Giselle and then Nick and Eve are the best, well they know what line of work she was in and didn't treat her the way those two did.
This was FULL of steam and voyeurism at its best! Again, one moment you need popcorn then the next a drink or a smoke. Now we are really getting to the good stuff with Giselle. I am REALLY wanting to know what she is running from, and I can see this being answered hopefully in the next book.
Let me take you to 03:00 on the first day (or night, lol) of January. There was still a lot of fireworks outside and I thought "You know what? I can't sleep so just let me check out that ebook I got with the last Stuff your Kindle (or in my case Kobo) day." It is now the third of January and I just finished book 8.
Did I regret getting almost no sleep these past days? No I did not.
Why, you ask?
Because this I haven't enjoyed a bookseries so much as I love this one in a very long time. Like it has "fanfic telenovela level" drama (which is a very good thing) but is also written well. I enjoy it so, so much.
Hot hot hot!!!! This book had so many sexy times in it and they were amazing!!!!
I am so torn though on who I want to see her with-Stefan or Carlo. I am confused as to why she just can’t have both. What in their lives says that? I am hoping that’s the way it will go.
So we got a little insight more into Giselles past and I suspect it will come out full force in either book 7 or 8. I don’t know how many books we are getting in this part of the series but they are amazing and I’ll read how many ever this author writes.
Giselle is trying to go on without Carlos or Stefan, as they have apparently moved on without her. She is happy helping Eve and Nick with Theo and the house, but when more is asked of her, she balks.
Eventually giving in, this book gets smoldering hot pretty quick! Besides the frequent hot sex, there is crazy voyeurism and new insights from Carlos and Stefan in their POV chapters. I am still wanting to know Giselle's story and who she is running from. I definitely needed a glass of wine as I read this book and I will have a bottle handy when I start the next book!
Giselle finally succumbs to Eve’s “ridiculous” proposal😳 While Giselle learns how to live without her men, she is unfortunately plagued by them and their “new” relationships. Her past is inching closer and the time is coming where she is going to have to make the most important decision of her and Dani’s lives, stay or go?
Loved this story, it was steamy with a good sprinkle of voyeurism and kept me on my toes and guessing what was going to happen next😍 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️
There is lots and lots of heat in this one and it involves Giselle and an unexpected partner! Whoa these two are hot!! We get a lot more Carlo and Stefan in this one and get their perspective of things. Both are still in love and fighting for Giselle but don't want to tear their family apart. I really have no idea how this love triangle is going to sort itself out. It seems like Giselle's past is going to catch up to her soon adding a little suspense. The end though was, whao! I can't wait to see what Carlo has up his sleeve!!

The connection between Giselle and Nick continues to grow, and we finally get some insight into how the brothers are feel about her. The tension throughout the book is palpable, and it's evident that this love triangle is nowhere near resolved.
We also start to get a glimpse into the secret that Giselle is hiding... something that I hope to uncover more about in the next book as the suspense is doing me in!

This was even hotter than the previous books in Giselle’s story. I can’t decide whether I want her to be with Carlo or Stefan! Ir if she should keep working for Ilona. However, the dynamics between them all is so foreign to me, and I feel like a voyeur what with her busy life! Of course the babies are so cute and fun! However, Isabella… I need to know what happens next!
Defying the King is the sixth book of The Sovarno Crime Family series, and I keep wondering what will happen to Giselle? Continuing from book five, she helps Nick and Eve, but what about her heart? Stefan and Carlo continue to be mad at her but they're being just as stubborn. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Wowee! This book was HOT! I was excited to see more spice in this book, but also more plot development from Giselle’s background. I enjoyed the different POVs from Stefan and Carlos, too! “Defying the King” may be my favorite book so far in this series. I loved the little fluffy at the end and I thought to myself, “I KNEW IT!” I can’t wait to get my hands on book 7 so I can see what happens next!
This is book 6 in the Sovrano Crime family and it has many steamy scenes and so many heartbreaking moments. Poor Giselle just can't catch a break! There are many things things throughout that have me wanting to throw my kindle across the room. And that cliffy?!? Ugh! I need book 7 asap!!! I need to know what happens next.
Giselle is a good friend helping Eve and Nick. She’s still so heart broken over losing Stefan and Carlo. They both want her but family is too important for them. So Giselle helps everyone else…. But who is helping her and putting her first…. Can’t wait for the next part of this series!
Omg!! this series is so hot. Giselles past may be catching up with her. Her arrangement with her best friend is helping her so much. The other 2 men she is in love with make her life not so easy. then bam the ending. Ugh I cannot wait for the next book. I need it now
What is Giselle going to do? These men are driving her crazy and me too. And is her past catching up with her? What will she do? This book was so so hottt! Can't wait to see what happens next.
