An ex-bull rider tasked with watching a baby. The woman who left him 14 years ago and who doesn't want to be back in this small town. When a medical emergency brings their worlds together, will the secret keeping them apart finally be revealed?
Colt Cross adores his niece and doesn't mind watching her for a week while his brother is on vacation. He's got it handled. He can definitely run the ranch and watch a baby. Until she comes down with a fever and he needs medical help. When he shows up at the doctor's house in the middle of the night, he never expected that the woman who left him at the altar fourteen years ago would be there, and he really never expected he would demand to know the truth.

When Sierra Shamrock, ER Doctor, comes to Cross Creek to help out her father after a heart attack, she never imagined she'd be face to face with Colt. And she really never imagined all of the old feelings coming back; it'd been fourteen years, and she should be over him. Yet, as he demands to know the truth of that night all those years ago, Sierra finds herself wanting to give this man more than the truth, possibly her heart.
Will a fire and conquistador gold pull them together or tear them apart?

As the Cross siblings get tested, they find they have to do the one thing their father always wanted them to do; trust each other and protect the land that is their legacy.

A note from the author:

Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.

I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.

What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.

It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.

And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.

What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.

I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.

I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.

I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!

Hugs-

Taylor

A reminder of what’s important in life
This is a story of what truly is important in life, forgiveness of self and others, supporting and helping family, and caring for others around us. Colt is single but dearly loves his little niece and she loves him, always reaching for him and clinging onto him. So it’s no surprise that when his brother Porter wants to take his wife on a beach vacation, they turn to Colt to watch little Arkansas or Little Rock as the family calls her. They know with him in charge they don’t need to worry and Colt is ecstatic, after all how hard can it be to watch a little one who isn’t even walking. When Little Rock spikes a fever in the middle of the night, Colt heads to Dr. Shamrock’s for help not knowing the doctor has had a heart attack and his patients are being taken care of by his daughter Sierra, an ER doctor and the one who left Colt at the alter with no explanation. But Little Rock is sick and she is more important than his feelings, so feelings are set aside to take care of her. But can you really set feelings aside? Mix in a drug reaction, a hot tub, two meddling relatives, conquistador gold, secrets, and a fire, and you have a story to keep you reading. A great read. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.

Colt Cross agreed to watch his niece so her parents could enjoy their vacation. When she becomes ill, visiting the doctor late one night is necessary. He's shocked to see Sierra Shamrock, the woman who left him at the altar, tending the ill. Slowly, they begin to mend fences, but his latest ex and dangerous thieves after Conquistador Gold cause plenty of additional stress.

This Contemporary Christian Romance is captivating. With the help of their families, they must unravel the secrets of the past to begin healing. Eventually, the secrets emerge. Some villains are captured and arrested. Finally, the reader reaches an enchanting end.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Romantic. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

Colt-Secret Second Chance Love

Wonderful story of second chances. Sierra Shamrock had left Colt Cross without explanation the night before they were to be married fourteen years earlier. Her father suffers a heart attack and calls for her to return home and help him with his practice while he recovers. She agrees and returns hoping to not run into Colt or any of his family. Colt is tasked with babysitting for his young neice while her parents take her brother on a brief vacation. The baby develops a fever and Colt needs to make sure she has medical help. When Colt takes the baby to see Dr. Shamrock, he is surprised to see his ex fiancé filling in for her father. Will either of them get the closure and forgiveness they need from the night that haunted them in order to move forward?

A second chance love for a cowboy, A FBI agent, a movie star and a billionaire with four great girls

Loved being with this author for the first time. Colt, Sam, BC and Michael stories were sweet and exciting. All these men especially Colt, Sam and Michael thought the could never have their first loves back. But time and God turned things around for them. BC and Kira it was new and fresh. All these couples had things that tested them. But they got through them togethor. My most favorite was Colt story. I enjoyed each one of the Knight brother stories as well. Sibling stories are always sweet. Looking forward to reading Colt brothers stories and also a second chance for Sam, BC and Michael dad.

Sierra had left Cross Creek 14 years ago. She left Colt at the altar. She is now an ER doctor in Denver. She is divorced. Her ex was an addict. When her father has a heart attack, she comes home to help out. Her father wants her to take over his family practice, but she avoids Cross Creek as much as she can. Colt is babysitting his niece. When she gets sick, he has to take her to Doc. Sierra opens the door and they are both surprised. She finally admits to Colt the reason that she left.

The gold hunters are back and causing problems too. Love all the Cross brothers and the family.

I really like Colt and Sienna's story. Fourteen years ago, Sienna bolted and left Colt, the night before their wedding was to take place. She left her small home town in Wyoming, went to medical school and is now an ER doctor in Denver. When her father suffers a heart attack, Sienna returns home to help her father and can't help but run into Colt. This sweet second chance romance has a great cast of characters and I love the crossover with the Stone family and the mystery of the Conquistador's gold.

I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Colt Cross and his brothers run the family ranch. When his oldest brother and his wife leave for a few days and leave their toddler daughter with him, he finds out what it’s like to be a single parent. When the little girl gets ill, he takes her to the town doctor only to find his former girlfriend who left him at the altar filling in for her dad who recently had a heart attack. Sierra knows she has to make peace with her past and let Colt know why she left. A touching story with a bit of suspense included.

I love Taylor Hart’s books because they have everything...love, loss, plot twists, forgiveness and faith. This book was one I just couldn’t put down until it finished. And I loved the fact that the book doesn’t end at the obvious place...we get a couple glimpses of their future down the road. And I came away with a great quote: ‘You can only control yourself. You can’t control what’s coming at you.’ I recommend you read this book.

Big thanks to the author for giving me a copy of the book to proofread, and I voluntarily chose to leave a review.

Love me some good second chance love

Taylor Hart has done it again-another great story with undertones of conquistador gold. I love second chance stories, with all the misunderstandings and love that won’t stop, forgiveness and reconciliation. Their first chance was at 18 and she left with no explanation and nearly broke him. She was so deep in her own pain she didn’t see what she had been putting everyone else through for 14 years.
Clean. Can be a standalone but there is mention of the treasure and characters from previous series and books.

This is such an awesome story. I enjoyed seeing Colt Cross and Sierra Shamrock get their second chance after 14 years apart. I was surprised to see why Sierra walked away from their previous wedding that didn’t happen. My heart just melted at how sweet Colt was with his niece he was babysitting, when she gets sick Colt is surprised to see that Sierra is filling in for her father who is the town doc. This story has it all, suspense, surprises, love, family and forgiveness and shows the importance of faith and praying. I enjoyed this story so much!

This book is an uplifting second chance romance. When Sierra gets called home to help with her dad she never expects the past to finally fully come out. Chance was her sweetheart from when she was young who she happened to leave at the alter. God stepped in with a plan for healing and forgiveness as well as a second chance. Their story is sweet yet has some action as the quest for the Stone gold continues. I can’t wait to see what else happens with the Cross family.

Great addition to this clean series by Taylor Hart.
Very heartwarming second Chance story!
Sierra is a divorced ER doctor. Colt is a former bull rider who’s back in town. Sierra left him at the altar years ago. When Sierra’s dad has a heart attack, she has to come back to town.
There is believed to be a large cache of conquistador gold somewhere on Colt’s family ranch.

Colt and Sierra's story is a great second chance story, I love this family and the Conquistidor Gold added in, but it is not the focus. Sierra left Colt at the altar years ago, and now she is back in town helping her dad. There is just so much to love about this book, you can read it alone and not miss a beat, BUT the first book is also wonderful. This is a clean story and no cliff hangers. So much to love!!

This was a fun, romantic book filled with family, faith, heartache, and suspense.  That is why I enjoyed reading about Sierra and Colt so much.  I liked learning about their past and hoped they might have a future together.  I also liked that this story tied into the Stone family with rumors of gold being hidden at the Cross family ranch.  I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Loved this second chance romance with Colt and Sierra who reunite after she left him fourteen years ago at the alter. She was too young to fully commit so she on to finish medical school and comes home to help her father and his medical practice when Colt has to bring his sick niece and sees his long lost love. This is a lovely story about forgiveness and accepting the love that they are both ready for.

Colt is a clean, heartwarming, second chance romance. This awesome, well written book has so much to love. There is a second chance at romance - after 14 years, a dedicated doctor, a charming uncle, a cute kid nicknamed Little Rock, love, laughter, danger overcome, acceptance of God's forgiveness as well as His love. I just kept turning the pages as I always do with Ms. Hart's books. While it works as a stand alone, it is so much better when you have read all the books about the gold!

Oh my GOODNESS! I know that I say it after reading every book BUT!!! BEST. STORY. EVER!!! Truly, the romance, yes, is amazing-as well as the awesome Cross Creek characters, BUT! the message of God’s love and forgiveness…it is just... WOW. There aren’t enough words to express how deeply it touched my heart. Colt is an absolutely beautiful story. And the book should come with tissues🥰😂 Just sayin'!😂

This book was wonderful. I.loved the relationship between Colt and little Rock. He was soft when he needed to be. Loved his relationship with his brothers, girl from his past and present. This book had it all. He was very protective of his family. He went undercover to find the person responsible for setting fire to the ranch property and new he was the one to go. Cannot wait to order Chances story.

A lovely second chance romance. I loved the medical and baby angles. Plus, who doesn’t love a bit of teasing, some drama, mingled with a dash of suspense? It was a great addition to the series and I was full on engaged.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Being alone with my baby suddenly became very ill, I can totally relate to Colt’s fear for Little Rock/Arkansas. I know when I pick up a Taylor Hart book, I’m going to get a solid plot with relatable characters. There will romance, hard work, humor and a few surprises. Her families are strong and even if there are a few missing, they are missed. Sierra was young, scared and made a wrong choice, unfortunately sometimes those are necessary to make us grow. I really enjoyed this book.

I love this series. Colt and Sierra are a great couple. They do have a past that needs to be reconciled and forgiven. I liked all the interactions between them. And slowly, we learn more about the Conquistador’s Gold. I really enjoyed reading this.

I loved this book by Taylor Hart. It's a second chance romance that really focuses on forgiveness. Sometimes our biggest obstacles in life are our own selves. One mistake and the inability to forgive herself caused Sierra to miss out on a lot of blessings. But sometimes the journey to forgiveness, though rocky and arduous, can lead us to a HEA.

Great book

This is a very interesting and exciting story. Colt is an amazing and heartwarming person. Sierra and Colt go back a long way. Things happened and they haven't seen each other in 14 years. She is back for a couple of weeks to help her Dad. Can Colt and Sierra get back together?

I very much enjoyed this story. Colt is so cute when he takes care of his baby niece and knows just what to do when she gets sick. That takes him to the doctor's home and a surprise: his ex-fiance is there. It's a sweet story from there as they mend fences and have their happily ever after. There are a few swear words in this story.

Colt and Sierra were going to get married fourteen years ago, but she left him at the altar. She left her small hometown and became an ER doctor in Denver.

When her dad has a heart attack, she comes back home to help him. Of course, she runs into Colt. Is the attraction between them still there?

I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.

I enjoy second chance romances and was really happy Colt and Sierra got one. Their story was sweet and a quick read. The conquistador gold makes another appearance, so it would be helpful to read the Family Stone series and Porter's story before this one, but not necessary.

Love Colt & Sierra’s Story

I’m not usually a second chance type of romance reader. But I enjoyed this one. I really enjoy the Cross brothers.
I love the story of forgiveness - not just for Colt and Sierra. You’ll have to read the book to find out more.
Enjoy the read.😉

Another great story about second chances. I just loved how Colt was with his little niece. You knew he was a great person all around and so glad Sierra finally explained what happened 14 years ago and they were able to work it out with love and faith.

Good read

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The family support and foundation comes back in times of need. I really enjoyed the author adding three other full length stories of the Knight Brothers Romances.
