Cal Younger made good as a chief in a very upscale Chicago restaurant before he was drawn into a scandal, not of his making. Cal was fired, so he took this opportunity to come home to Hannibal and open his own restaurant. Hometown boy Cal is respected by everyone except his drunken father and brother, Casey. They both cause trouble for Cal throughout the story. Allie went to college for a big city marketing career but she’s still in her small hometown doing a nothing job she hates. She has the opportunity to do side jobs to add to her “moving to the city” savings. One job is baking incredibly delicious baked goods and deserts and another is a part-time job helping Cal set up the old building he’s rehabbing. Cal and Allie are attracted to each other but they fight it for a long time. Allie doesn’t want to think of anything except getting out of town. A focus in the story is that Allie once dated Cal’s brother Casey who dumped her YEARS AGO while in High school but now, years later, Casey’s freaking out that Cal stole her from him? I don’t understand why it’s a big deal. I really like Cal. Besides being a smart ambitious hunk Cal has big dreams that he is turning into reality. Allie, however, is just kind of lost but with the help of Cal, her parents, and girlfriends she finds what really matters. There’s a sweet happy ending which I loved. I received a free advanced copy of this story from Bookfunnel and this is my opinion. Linda
The chemistry between Cal and Allie is sizzling and not to be missed. Even though his brother, who is also her ex, is a mooching irresponsible schmuck, Cal is a very different type of man. He is in town to open a restaurant of his own after scandal all but ruined his career in Chicago. Despite his poor relationships with his father and brother, he is in town to stay. Allie can see that Cal is a good man, hardworking and unexpectedly protective of her. Their attraction flares bright and quickly leads to some passionate encounters. Allie is afraid to give into her feelings though, especially since she has made a decision to leave her home town, despite the pull she feels toward Cal. The fact that he is the brother of her ex boyfriend also bothers her. Allie is the one who makes Cal feel like he could build a great future here in his home town. He is ready to take things to the next level with Allie and to make some much needed changes in his relationships with his father and brother. How will their story play out?.

Cal is coming home to open a new restaurant, hoping that his past transgressions will not taint his future in his hometown. Allie hates her job and is furiously saving to find a way out to start a new life somewhere more exciting. Little do they know that just around the corner is the answer to each of their longings.
They run into each other at the open market on accident and Cal recognized his little brothers ex from years ago when they were younger. He knows she should be off limits to him just because of their history, but the more time they spend together, the more he becomes attached.
Allie knows she shouldn't be attracted to Cal since he is the bad boy of the town, but she just can't help herself. She knows that what they share now can only be temporary since she is determined to leave and begin a new life somewhere else and he is opening a restaurant to stay. But how can she resist him as the more they are together, the more that she wants him.
Can this really work out and become the future they both are craving to find? Only time will tell.

In this book “Tasty” Cal comes back home to this small town called Hannibal to open a new restaurant. Cal had left home after a disagreement with his father. Cal and his father never seemed to get along. Cal was a chef in a restaurant in Chicago until the owner became convinced that Cal was having an affair with his wife. Cal was then blackballed by other restaurants and was unable to get a job. Allie used to date Cal’s brother Casey a long time ago. Allie is dreaming of leaving their small town and working in marketing. However, she is currently working in the post office. Allie offers to help Cal get his restaurant fixed up if he pay her money. Allie and Cal begin a relationship that she wants to keep quiet because of Casey. How will Casey react to Cal and Allie’s relationship? Will Cal and his family repair their relationship? Will Allie move to the city? This was a great story. It moved a little slow in the beginning but, I loved the relationship between Cal and Allie. Cal was a really great guy. I love when the guy is not only a combo of sweet and bossy but nice and kind. There are some steamy sexy moments in this book.
Cal Younger was making his mark as a chef in Chicago when he was drawn into a scandal that he had nothing to do with and was fired. He has returned to his hometown and is trying to make a go with a farm to table restaurant. Everyone who was in town before knows him, which Cal views as something of a burden, but it's more a reflection of his father and his brother, Casey. Cal keeps bumping into Allie, who used to date his brother. She helps him with the renovations of his restaurant building and they get closer. Each of them feels that they should resist the temptation between them, but they don't really fight it. There is a little angst with Cal's brother feeling that he stole Allie from him (mind you, they were over years ago and she doesn't want anything with him, so it's completely misplaced!). There is also the fact that Allie is doing what she can to leave town and Cal is coming home to build a life there. Ultimately, there is a happily ever after and a really sweet ending.
Very good book, Cal is a chef returning home to start his own restaurant. He runs into his younger brother’s high school girlfriend Allie. The connection was immediate. The two kind of hoped neither recognized the other due to the younger brother issue it might cause. But love has a different path for both of them, not smooth but full of doubt of both their own feelings and that of the other person. It was fun to watch them dance around each other and go through the trials we have all gone through when me meet that special one. Allie needs her good friend Mia to help her understand what she really wanted and what she was hiding from herself. But it all came together and what better way to spend your life’s work than with the one you love the most. Good book and time well spent. buy the book you'll like it.
Cal is returning home after making it good in Chicago as a chef that is until something happens and it almost ruins his career. Deciding to open his own restaurant in Hannibal is going to be tough considering his father and younger brother will try to cause problems. Allie despises her job and has been saving money to leave the small town and start fresh. When she runs in to Cal, they develop a friendship and she helps him try to get his restaurant open. She knows he should be off limits since he is her ex’s older brother but they are both fighting the urge to not fall for each other. Emma does a good job with this story. The main characters are likeable and throw in is family and them trying to cause trouble adds just enough drama to make it better.

Allie is a friendly, caring, genuine young woman who hates her job and is saving every penny for her new start in a big city. Any big city. This is all she has ever dreamed of. Cal is a hard working, talented, kind young man who has returned home to open up a restaurant. Struggling to get some members of the community to look past his teenage reputation and his family's poor behaviour.
What starts as an offer by Allie to help get the restaurant up and running quickly becomes something more. As their growing attraction for each other heats up does she still want the same thing?
Wonderful love story which hooks you in from the very start.

This was a sweet and sour read. Told in first person POV by the main male and female characters. This story is full of second chances, finding yourself, laughter, arguments and steamy chemistry.
I love that Allie was so confident throughout the book, except for a few scenes when she let her doubt take over. I love that Cal didn’t let the small town gossip bring him down. I love the chemistry between them and how they both were quick to talk things out and/or forgive.
The side characters made the book even better and I hope there is more to this series. This is the first time I’ve read from this author and she did not disappoint.

He is determined to open up his restaurant and make it big in his small town. This is a good second chance romance that I enjoyed reading. The chemistry between the main characters was amazing and there’s a sweet happy ending which I loved. He’s working on realizing his dream of opening his own restaurant in his hometown, so he’s renovating a place that will become his restaurant. She’s bored of her small town life, dreams of moving to a big city. She does odd jobs and bakes to fund her dream. He’s her ex boyfriend's brother, so she seeks him to do some renovation work. Her plans get complicated by the fact that she’s ridiculously attracted to him. As is he to her. They both have issues in their past that complicate the relationship.

I thought this was a cute little romance book. Told in dual POV with an epilogue which I love! Allie is searching for new beginnings, she is cute, has awesome parents and friends, all of whom love, support and protect her. She is generous, giving and helps everyone in the community. Cal is returning to his roots has an unsupportive or loving family but he wants a new beginning with his dog Klaus. He is a hard worker, determined and re-building his life. Theirs paths cross and soon we have the baker, the chef and the past to work through.

Cal and Allie have great chemistry together. Cal looks tough, but he is soft and gooey on the inside and treats Allie marvellously. She loves this and she also loves his cooking, but he is her ex-boyfriend's older brother and his family is a little messed up. Combine this with the fact that Allie has always wanted to get out of Hannibal (a small town where she hates her job), and their relationship might not last. Cal is such a great guy, it's hard to see how Allie can resist him at all. I enjoyed seeing how their story played out. I also liked the author's writing style and storytelling skills. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I really enjoyed reading Tasty: Second Chance Chef Romance!!! All about Cal Younger a chef in his thirties & Allie Harmen a postal worker in her late twenties. Cal moved back to his hometown to open a Farm-To-Table Restaurant. While renovating the building his brothers ex walked in. Allie was my brothers girlfriend in high school. I’d come home one weekend from culinary school & they had broken up. I had not seen her in years. Read about Cal & Allie as they navigate life in a tiny town. Lots of emotions and some toe curling incidents throughout!! Definite Read!!!!
This was SUCH a good read. I enjoyed how both characters are coming together from different paths in life. I was hooked when you first get to know Cal and the hard work he's put to getting his life on track. I was hooked on Allie's sweet and positive nature. The hot steamy scenes didn't hurt...at All!!! This book really offered the reader a view inside Cal & Allie. It's truthful in how life goes sometimes, but I assure you when they come together....fireworks!!! #feedmemore.

Sweet romance with some hot scenes and a bit of complication thrown in. The female is a bored small town girl working for a way out to the big city. The male is a small town guy who left to make it big and has now returned. They work together and realize they have awesome chemistry. But both have issues in their past that complicate the relationship. This book was a quick read that was intriguing with a couple twists. Sometimes I wished I had more details on the back story, but overall this was a great read! **I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.**

Cal and Allie are very interesting and entertaining as they work together while trying to ignore the chemistry between them. Allie is attracted to Cal and although he's her ex boyfriend's brother, they have been over for quite some time so when he acts like Cal is stealing Allie from him it makes things interestingly tense. This was an enjoyable read that takes you on an entertaining ride. This is my first time reading an Emma Blake book but definitely won't be my last as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
When Cal comes back in town to start open up a restaurant, Allie is helping with the opening and things are beginning to heat up between the two. Will Allie find herself becoming the new taste of choice for Cal and will it lead them to a happily ever after? This story kept me glued to the drama to see how this end!

I truly enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down. Cal is returning to his hometown to open a restaurant. Allie is over her small town and trying to do everything possible to leave. This book shows the development of them rekindling their friendship and slowly falling for each other.
This book was sweet, steamy and definitely emotional. I truly enjoyed the trajectory of the story.

Cal has moved back to Hannibal to open a restaurant and face his childhood demons. Allie used to date Cal's brother when they were in highschool and ends up helping him open the restaurant to try to save some money to leave their small town. Can these 2 work past their location issues and past history to have their happily ever after? Great story.

This is a wonderful book that tells the story of Cal and Allie. Cal returns to the place where he spent his childhood and wants to open a restaurant. Allie is no stranger to Cal as she moved in with his brother and now wants to help him open his restaurant and save money so she can get out of town. The storyline is great and the characters are enjoyable. This is highly recommended reading.

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. An easy to read small town romance that was sweet, cute and steamy with a little angst. I felt there were some unanswered gaps/questions but nothing too serious to take away the enjoyment. Overall a good read for a lazy afternoon that put a smile on my face.

Allie and Cal were such a great pair! Allie was ready to leave town just as Cal was finally returning home after being away for years. It was the worst time to start a relationship, so there's no way anything could come of the sparks flying between them, right? I loved how sweet and protective Cal was with Allie. These two were just perfect!.
