Messy Joy: How Joy Can Begin Before Your Difficulties End

Rate this book
Are you entrenched in the difficulties of life and scoff at articles and books that encourage you to "choose joy" but don't say how? Author and joy coach Robin Shear suffered through years of night terrors, chronic pain, and despair, all while concealing it from the world. But God, in His goodness, gave her joy that wouldn't have been possible otherwise-and He can do the same for you, no matter how messy your life is.

In Messy Joy, you'll feel a sense of belonging as you read the author's personal stories of her privately held lowest moments. You'll discover new ways of viewing your circumstances and how to choose joy in the trenches, all without having to wait for your difficulties to end first.

Messy Joy is full of practical, applicable, and surprisingly fun exercises, tips, and journal prompts that will immediately add joy to your life. No matter what you're facing, one quick read will help you move from feeling helpless and alone to feeling hopeful and heard.

I really enjoyed Robin Shear’s session at a conference I attended this summer about JOY; this book as inspirational in how she combines joy and her faith to her daily life

Great Book

Robin’s book is so good, thought provoking, and while encouraging us to find joy when our lives get messy, it shows just how good hearted and funny Robin is. I’ve always know Robin to be a great person full of life, compassion, love, and even joy…. But even she has struggles in her life some times and in her book, she shares how she finds joy in her struggles and how we too can find joy.

Excellent read

This is written in a manner that allows self growth in many areas. I am truly enjoying the reflective questions and am revisiting many that I could not answer for myself when I first read the book.
