When retired Guild Artemis Inquisitor Georgia Drake’s past comes back to haunt her, resulting in the disappearance of her mastiff, Benjamin, her choice to go after him is complicated by a murder that entangles her in local politics. Under scrutiny from an elite team, her magic blocked and with Harriet Quin asking for help, Georgia has to make a tough decision—throw caution to the wind and go after Benny or trust that he knows what he's doing…
I write a lot of paranormal books for someone who is afraid of the dark. And I wonder why I have to sleep with the lights on. Sometimes life is a teenaged B horror movie and I'm the one who investigates when the scary music is playing. But the voices are calling and resistance is… Yes. I am a Star Trek geek, too. And a fan of RPG’s. With a slight coolness factor since I've been told I'm allowed to join the pops.
Benny gone bad?? Say it ain’t so!! Georgie has to deal with not only the loss of her friendship with Helen but also the return of her old partner and the disappearance of Bennie. With her powers limited, this was a pretty fast paced book. I missed Benny being in it for most of the book but the ravens were are some
Too short!!!! I love the Georgia Drake series, and OMG was I excited to see that this one would be about Bennie, because who doesn’t adore him?! And while it was of course an excellent story, the author has an amazing talent for bringing you completely into this world and wrapping you up tight inside it, it ended too soon! It felt more like a novella than a true book. I get it, she (the author) has a LOT of other series and stories going on at the same time, I read a couple of them, and maybe I’m just a fast reader or I simply wanted it to go on longer, but it just seemed hurried. I hope that further installments in this series (and I hope for many, many more) are longer, because in case I hadn’t mentioned it, this series is SO GOOD!!! I need more Bennie! And the ravens! And yes please, more Sam!
A story with heart is what this series is about. I have grown to love the characters, especially the Hades Hound, Benjamin, but I also love Georgia, the ex-Inquisitor and her struggle with her love for Sam. The plot is straightforward and the premise is finding out who killed the head of the council and the woman who controlled the island. The answers were hard won and ended up bringing the worlds of the human and the paranormal together as Sam witnesses the magic "the enemy" forced on Georgia to make her listen. I highly recommend this story and the rest of the series.
I like this series a bunch! I want to visit with all the characters. I want to read more of the series! I love it that there’s a great combination of everyone. I like it that there are others and not just Georgia that are magical on the island, I hope she does become a sheriff, it’ll be very interesting. I’m glad I found a series that is a great combination of the Paranormal and the normal. Keep writing this is fun.
The whole series is great. However this one seemed a little more intense because Benny is an active part of a mystery instead of just helping in the figuring it out part. I feel like a lot of questions were answered (about Whitewitch Island as well as about Georgia and her family). Many more are brought up. Can't wait to see what happens next!
Wow!!! Fever pitch action, so much happening, it just all splintered!!! very well written story!! I love this series; it's captivating and has held my attention since the first page!!
