USA Today bestselling author Laurel Greer loves writing about all the ways love can change people for the better, especially when messy families and charming small towns are involved. She lives outside of Vancouver, BC with her law-talking husband and two daughters and is never far from a cup of tea, a good book, or the ocean—preferably all three.

Terrific book. Franci and Archer are friends and coworkers at the local dive company. Archer's best friend is Franci's older brother, Sam. When Sam leaves for a trip to the UK with his fiancé, he extracts a promise from Archer to watch over a very pregnant Franci.

Franci is stubbornly independent and plans to raise her baby on her own. Her family's super-protectiveness frustrates Franci, who sometimes feels smothered by the attention. She pushes back against Archer's attempts to help her. Not only does it go against her independent nature, but it also makes it difficult to resist her overpowering attraction to him. Everything changes when a monster storm coincides with Franci going into labor early.

I loved Archer. He is a man who cares deeply about his friends and family, but he locked away his emotions after a tragic accident. He has also buried his growing feelings for Franci, believing he is too old and no good for her. He has a lot of love to give if he'd only forgive himself.

I loved watching the relationship between Franci and Archer develop. Each has buried their feelings for each other until that fateful storm. I loved how Archer got his foot in the door to check on her by offering to help her paint the nursery. Neither expected Franci to go into labor early - she was counting on the family tradition of being overdue, and Archer followed her lead. I found it amusing that Archer figured out she was in labor long before she did. With no one able to get to them because of the storm, that left Archer to deliver the baby. Thank goodness for his Coast Guard rescue training! I loved his support during the process.

Neither expected the depth of the bond formed in delivering baby Iris. I loved seeing baby Iris create cracks in the walls around Archer's heart and then watch Franci widen those cracks further. Circumstances cause Franci and Iris to stay with Archer for several weeks, allowing them to grow closer. I liked how Franci began understanding why Archer is the way he is. I ached for Archer as he fought his feelings. I cheered when he faced one of his deepest fears and won in an incredibly emotional scene, opening a path to his heart's desire. The epilogue was terrific.

One of the things I enjoyed about this book was the treatment of Asher as an amputee. It isn't the focal point of who he is, just a fact of his life. The challenges and daily life are portrayed realistically and without drama.

Franci and Archer were everything I wanted and more! If you read the first book in Laurel Greer's Love at Hideaway Wharf series, you will recognize Sam's sister Franci and co-worker Archer from the dive company. I was very quickly hooked on the chemistry they oozed whenever the other was around, and the feels the turmoil they each are going through brings to the surface are spot on and addictive. I loved every minute of their story. I really enjoy Oyster Island and would love to see more stories come from this series.

Franci is a sweetheart and really likable, but Archer was by far my favorite character. There's just something about him being the man that he is even as he's living through guilt and despair that he won't share with anybody that makes him a solid guy who you can just tell won't let anybody down.

I highly recommend this book as well as the first book in the series to anyone that enjoys a small coastal town romance where the family and friends play an integral part in the background of the town. The characters are endearing, their story is fast paced and the happily ever after was all I could have ever wanted.

Single, pregnant Fancie Walker is determined to do things her way. Have her baby with only financial help from the father, plus she's got a whole host of help with family. But her brother is going with his fiance to Kellen's home in Scotland for the holidays. And her dad is now in the midst of a romance. Plus there's the dive shop, and fellow diver Archer Forest. Archer has his own dark background, losing a friend in a diving accident in the Coast Guard, for which Archer blames himself. But it's Christmas, there's a terrific storm, and Franci's baby decides it's time to come, and there is only Archer to help.

A HIDEAWAY WHARF HOLIDAY is the second in Laurel Greer‘s Hideaway Wharf series. Franci Walker and Archer Frost are great coworkers, reasonably good friends, and when Franci’s brother Sam asks Archer to help make sure Franci is okay while he’s out of town, he agrees without hesitation.

When a storm traps them together, it forces them to acknowledge feelings brewing between them, ones Archer intended to pretend don’t exist. He’s not worthy of Franci or her darling baby, even if they’re everything he’s ever dreamed of.

Laurel Greer writes Archer and Franci beautifully. Their feelings surge off the page and sweep the reader along for the passionate ride. I love Ms Greene’s characters, and their very real vulnerabilities and so relatable reasoning, even as I root for them to overcome the challenges that arise along the way. I also loved revisiting Hideaway Wharf and the mostly intensely supportive community there. I can’t wait to come back!
