Uh. What. There's a tribunal body so evil that they don't care about the fact that Kal El was a literal child? Jor El and the house of El was evil? They blew up their sun? Clark decided to like.. hide and leave everyone behind with 0 heads up and how long has he known about that and he decided to hide... just in time?????? WHAT. That made almost no sense. I mean good for Lois and her promotion at the end. I guess oh boy we can transfer the powers to someone, like we didn't see exactly how that could go wrong here and there in some other comics and jesus what they did to Lex was... a lil extreme if satisfying and kinda... I don't know. This was... something. Not one I think I'll be rereading, the characters felt kind of OOC and I'm not sure they ever recovered any of their heroes like, there was so much going on and ... how long did Clark know about the dark history of Krypton and then he waited sooo long to ... c'mon. I don't know. I really wasn't all that into this, and it was one I was more or less enjoying and looking forward to some kind of resolution to, honestly. I don't need Superman to be super, or keep his powers, even, I just... on the whole have so many questions about this...

I originally picked up this mini series without any sort of expectations. Whitta is an entirely new writer me, and I thoroughly enjoyed this story from beginning to end. This is a decent issue with a solid ending, staying true to the characters and their roots (especially when it comes to Batman, Superman and Lex Luthor). This makes me feel like they should bring back the Elseworlds imprint. Actually, I would love to see a continuation of this alternate reality/ timeline at some point.
