The Wonder Boys #4

Love in Disguise

Rate this book
Kit Morgan has always hated change—he’s as steady as they come.

At least, that’s what his friends think. Feeling trapped by a routine he never wanted but everyone expects, Kit is almost glad when his life suddenly falls apart—especially when it leads to him running into his middle school girlfriend, Skyler, who happens to need a fake fiancé for a family reunion.

The two pick up where they left off seventeen years prior, and Kit reverts back to the friendly and fun-loving person she knew for the semester they were together—someone completely different from the role he’s been playing his entire life. Desperate to cling to his chance to change his life for the better and finally live the life he’s always wanted, Kit is ready to tell Skyler he’s in it for real. The problem? She has no intention of settling down anytime soon. Or ever.

Torn between the reliable life he’s always known and a sweeter one without guarantees, Kit has to convince Skyler—and himself—that past patterns can be broken and relationships are worth fighting for.

Otherwise, he might lose the only person who’s ever known the real him.

Fake Fiancé, close proximity, lots of heart, endearing characters, family reunion in the mountains, clean swoony romance, and of course, the Wonder Boys! What a fantastic end to an amazing series! From that first book I was drawn to these Wonder Boys, and this last book really tied a beautiful bow around the whole series. In Love in Disguise, we finally get Kit’s story!

Kit is the guy who keeps all his friends together. He’s the glue, but also a mystery. This handsome illusive guy keeps everything to himself. While he’s deeply involved in his friends’ lives, there are secrets he’s been keeping even from his sister. He’s so worried about disappointing others that he’s perfected the mask he wears. But, deep down, who’s the real Kit? When his middle school grade crush shows up in Diamond Springs after 17 years, his world is about to get thrown upside down.

Skyler was devastated when she had to leave Diamond Springs 17 years ago. She’s especially missed her first crush, Kit. Leaving her high powered attorney job for her dream job, she comes back to the only real home she’s known and decides to open a bookshop. But, in order to keep the funding, she needs a fake fiancé to take to a family reunion. A chance meeting in a local restaurant reconnects her with Kit and surprisingly he agrees to be her fake fiancé for the week. But, after spending a week with Kit, will she be able to let him go?

I loved Kit & Skyler! They’re perfect for each other and bring out the best in each other. It was great to see Kit finally shed some of that seriousness and really open up. Seeing him in this new light makes you love him even more. He shares things with Skyler he’s never been able to share with his closest friends. Skyler’s chaotic, unstable childhood makes her cautious about all the relationships in her life. She’s afraid of loss. Kit really helps her let go and overcome those fears.

I loved the friendship bracelet, the playful banter between Kit & Skyler, the paintball incident, tie-dye t-shirts, all that happens at the fair, the kiss in the rain, and the woodworking. It was also enjoyable to meet Skyler’s family and watch her get closer to them. Can’t wait for the spin off series!

The two epilogues at the end were amazing! Loved the glimpses we get of the fabulous futures in store for all the Wonder Boys. Though I’m sad to see the series end, this book wraps it all up beautifully. Highly recommend this book and the entire series!

I’m so sad to see this series end! The Wonder Boys have been my favorite. I knew that Kit would be my favorite of the guys. And I was right. This is the last book of the series. It would stand alone just fine. But I recommend reading the other books as well, you’re going to want to!

I loved Kit in this book. Kit is the guy who single-handedly holds the Wonder Boys group together. He’s the one the guys go to when they have a problem. I loved seeing Kit having the problems in this one. It was kind of comical. Kit is normally the guy who has everything all together. But a series of unfortunate events in the beginning of the book makes it so that isn’t the case. And Kit was able to grow because of all of those events. I loved seeing his mask and his walls come down through the book. He grew so much.

Then there’s Skylar. I loved her so much! One thing I really loved was how Skylar and Kit had known each other before. It was fun to see how they interacted together. On the one hand it was like they still knew each other. On the other hand, it had been a really long time since they had seen each other. And they needed to get to know each other all over again.

The fake relationship part of Kit and Skylar’s story was my favorite. At times it was hard to remember that their relationship was fake, because they worked so well together. It was just to watch it play out.

I loved Skylar’s family, too! There are so many great characters there. Hopefully some of them will be back at some point. I really loved the aspect of Skylar’s relationship with her family growing as well.

This book was so great! I loved it.

I was sent an e-copy of Love in Disguise as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.

Oh, Kit! I have been waiting for his story since the first book because he is such an intriguing character and let me tell you, his story was EPIC and absolutely worth the wait! Kit is the glue that holds the group together but he is feeling lost when life throws him a couple of curveballs including an accidental meet up with his junior high girlfriend Skylar.

My favorite thing about this series - besides the Wonder Boys themselves - is that every book has the fake dating trope but somehow each book is so different from the others! This one is mixed with a

second chance romance and includes a
family reunion
epic paintball game
one bed/cabin
forced proximity
great character arcs
bookstore talk
cameos of the wonder boys
suuuupppppper swoony kisses (but always sweet)!

I seriously cannot recommend this book - and this entire series - enough. The characters are endearing and the books are unputdownable. This one deserves all the hearts and stars! I am so sad it is ending but looking forward to the spin-off series coming soon.

I received a complimentary copy of the book but a positive review was not required.

'Was he really about to pretend to be someone's fiancé or an entire week and expect everything to go well? Yes. Yes he was.'

An entire series with a fake dating trope? SIGN ME UP!

I have loved having this series be so entertaining and unpredictable-despite having the same trope!

I've been dying to get Kit's story from book 1. He was always the serious, grownup of the group. He liked things orderly and nothing out of place and definitely no new routines...Skyler Montague is about to spice things up.

'Nothing like a little insanity to spice up a summer afternoon.'

The character arcs for both characters were huge and I loved watching them both develop...Kit's especially! The romance is oh, so good. Fake dating provides so many great opportunities for awkwardness and forced proximity! I really can't say enough good things about this one.

Also, the paintball scene? Perfect writing by Dana LeCheminant!

If you're looking for a book to curl up with and have an unputdownable, but still relaxing read--look no further!

Dana is so great at telling a story full of heart, character and swoon that you'll love every second of it!

Thanks to the author for the copy. All thoughts in this review are my own.

The final book in the fake dating series, The Wonder Boys, is SUCH a satisfying read. Really, I don’t know if I have the words to properly tell you how happy and pleased I was reading this one.

I have been highly anticipating Kit’s story and Dana LeCheminant delivered on every page. You think you have an idea of who Kit is, but just you wait, you will fall EVEN MORE in love with him in his story.

You’ve got Kit feeling lost with everything life has thrown at him and a determined Skyler who has plans for her future that her family, and the “Clark Kent” Kit can’t change. Let me tell you, you are in for a treat with this story.

You’ve got family reunion shenanigans, paintball, forced proximity, small town summer fair, cozy cabins, second chance romance the Wonder Boys, let’s not forget them.

One thing I loved about Kit’s story is the character growth you see for him and Skyler. There is ALOT of growth that happens in this book. There are a lot of emotions, things to work through, fears to face, and I loved reading and seeing how it all came together in the end. They pull out the best in each other-the fun, serious, the emotions and make each other shine. Round of applause to LeCheminant for great writing, fun and heart pulling plot with great character development and so much more.

This was such a beautiful, exciting, heart breaking and swoony close to the Wonder Boys series. I loved every minute spent reading it. And the epilogues. LeCheminant knows how to go epilogues the right way and I got all I could ever want out of them. I may have even teared up...ok, there were tears because I love these four guys so much and seeing how they build lives for themselves and each other is just beautiful. Loved this book and highly recommend that you read this and the other three in the series if you haven’t yet.

I loved this book, but also hated that it was the end of the Wonder Boys series 😭💔

I adored Kit and felt for him. I think everyone can relate to him because most of us have worn a mask at least one time in our life. He was such a sweet and fun character to get to know better. I loved how Skylar saw the real Kit and brought out his playful side.

Getting to see all of the friends together again made me smile. And laugh. I loved the Wonder Boys text messages. 🤣

Though book 1 (Madi and Oliver) will always be my favorite, there is something so special about following the friend group through the entire series. The epilogue at the end was 😭❤❤❤. It was perfection. 🤌🏻

This series will always be one of my favorites! And I would totally read more about these characters.

*I received an ARC from the author. All opinions are my own.

Sigh. Why must I homeschool my children when all I want to do is read this fantastic book??? I just wanted to read about Kit. Because seriously. Kit. Morgan. 😍

Ok. I didn't think you were supposed to get teary-eyed while reading a rom-com. But this book had ALL the feels: laughter (literal, out-loud laughter), tears, anger, and chills (yes, literal chills).

I'm really not sure what else to add to this review. The book was just so...satisfying. From the beginning to the end, I don't think there could be any improvement.

Well, no improvement with one exception: I'm gonna need some Kit Morgan youtube videos! 😂 Dana, if you could get on that, that'd be great!

I absolutely loved this book! Although I am so sad to see my time with the Wonder Boys end. These four guys now hold a special place in my heart!

It was so great getting to know Kit more in this book. He is the Wonder Boy who holds this group of friends together. He is the one the others go to for help and he knows parts of them the other friends don't know. It was surprising that there was so much about him that the other 3 guys didn’t know because Kit kept it locked inside himself. I really enjoyed getting to see the true Kit come to life and really get to know him more.

Skyler was Kit's first love in 6th grade and he was hers as well. When they run into each other again 17 years later he agrees to be her fake fiance for a family reunion. Skyler is such a great match for Kit, she has a very fun personality. Both Kit and Skyler have things to learn about themselves; Kit to be himself and Sklyer to love again and learn what she really wants in life. It was perfect the way they helped each other learn these things.

I pretty much loved everything about this book! The group texts between the friends were the best! I loved when Kit and Sklyer got stuck in the rain, the wedding crashing scene, all the kisses between them, and the paintball and potato salad adventures! :) Seeing Ben, Oliver, and Cam’s lives grow in this book was amazing too!

The book started out with a bang for me and held me all the way until the end. I wish I had the words to do this book justice but you will just need to read it for yourself. I laughed out loud so many times my daughter wanted to know what was so funny, so I read some of the book out loud to her. I had so many emotions running through me. The bonus epilogue was heartwarming and I ended this series with tears and a smile. This is a series I am happy to have on my shelf and one I will reread again. Love in Disguise can stand alone but you will want to read all four!

I Love Kit!

Dare I say it? Last book in the Wonder Boy series and I think it's my favorite. The build up to Kit, who has been at the core of the Wonder Boys since the beginning, was immense. Getting to his heart was so good. I just love him. Looooooove him.

Ugh. Is it really over? The end of this series? I'm happy but sad. The ending and epilogue were so satisfying, so good. But now it feels like I'm leaving my friends behind. luckily I know this author will give more great things to read so I'll patiently wait for that.

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Kit & Skyler’s points of view

Review:

I absolutely adored this ending to the Wonder Boys series! Kit was even better of a character than I knew (from reading the other books) on the inside. I loved his strength and want to be there for everyone around him. I loved that Skyler brought out the playful, less stressed Kit that he was with her as a kid. I loved that Kit helped Skyler to relax and see what was right in front of her in her stepfamily and her mother. I loved Skyler’s stepfamily, so many of them were fun and funny and I loved that they all ended up coming together. Some of my favorite scenes from this story included: potato salad, paintball, a Ferris wheel, a hypnotist, phone calls/texts with the Wonder Boys & their girls, family activities, the grand gesture/epiphany, and Kit’s hidden hobby.

Summary:

Kit doesn’t feel like himself, but also doesn’t feel like he can change from the serious and resistant to change person he’s been acting like for most of his life. But when everything in his life falls apart, Kit is led to his middle school girlfriend, someone who knew a different version of himself. When Kit finds out Skyler is looking for a fake fiancé, he is quick to suggest himself for the position. Not only will it help him to forget about his current problems, but it will also give Kit the chance to be the guy he once was. Someone who wanted a future with the girl he fell for…

Skyler is ready to go out on her own and start a bookshop like she dreamed of as a kid. But to get the funding she needs to cover it, she invents a fiancé that helped her with her new venture to make it seem more plausible to her stepfather that it will be successful. When he asks to meet the fiancé, Skyler panics and starts interviews to find a believable guy that shares her interests and can easily be let go of when the meet and greet is over. She never expected to see the man that stole her heart as a kid to walk through the door. Skyler didn’t even expect to keep falling for him, but she can’t have a relationship with him. They want different things and Skyler isn’t about to hold Kit back from the future he’s always dreamed of. It could never work, right?

The final book is here! I was so excited to read this after reading the other Wonder Boys’ books. Kit Morgan is steady as they come and has always hated change. At least that is what his friends think and now he feels trapped in a routine that he never wanted. When his life starts to fall apart, he finds himself running into his middle school girlfriend, Skylar, who happens to need a fake fiancé for a family reunion. They pick up right where they left off and Kit finds himself back to being the friendly and fun-loving person she knew, and who he has not been the rest of his life. Kit finally feels he has a chance to change his life for the better and is ready to tell Skyler he is in it for real. Except she has no intention of settling down. Ever. As Kit struggles between the reliable life he has always known and the sweeter one with no guarantee, he has to convince Skyler and himself that past patterns can be broken and relationships are worth fighting for. Will he lose the only person who’s ever known the real him?
This was such a good book! I was super excited for this and a bit nervous honestly, but it turned out to be an amazing ending to the series. Kit is such an interesting character. I already liked him from the other books, but I feel like I really got to know him in this book. He was really good at acting like he had everything put together. It was sweet to see how he felt like he could be himself with Skylar. It was so cool to see in his head, especially his views of the other Boys. I loved his scenes with the kids too! Totally adorable!
Skylar was a little more complicated for me. I really liked her with Kit and I definitely felt for her. But I think I was just frustrated with her at times. I really admired her passion and determination though, and it was so nice to see her connect with her family through Kit. Kit was able to connect with her and help her get a different perspective. He connected her with her family in a new way and helped her see them.
As always, seeing the rest of the Boys, especially from a different POV is a highlight! I love getting to see the continuation of each of their stories as the book continues. This was the perfect culmination to the series, though I would definitely read more books in this world! This is a clean rom-com that is best read as part of a series, but can definitely be enjoyed alone!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.

Nobody does fake dating like Dana LeCheminant's Wonder Boys. As the fourth and final book of the series, Love in Disguise tells the story of Kit and his first love, Skyler. Kit and Skyler were inseperable for four months in middle school, before Skyler disappeared without saying goodbye. When Kit runs into her at a restaurant where she is holding interviews for applicants to be her fake fiance, Kit finds himself falling for her all over again.

One of the things I love so much about the characters in this series is their emotional depth. The author really flushes out these characters and their thoughts and feelings and those translate onto the page. These emotions aren't just quirks to set the characters apart, but rather a major component in moving each story forward.

That Kit. He sure is swoony.
He's warm and kind and inclusive and sweet and aware and I want to be like him. A person who makes everyone feel special. Wouldn't that be lovely?
And Skylar. What growth! I like her sassy attitude, her broken bits that make up a wonderful whole.
Plus, the series epilogue is such a wonderful and fulfilling end.

If you like fake relationships, second chances, family reunions, friends that are really family, group chats and bookish books, I recommend this one! Plus, it has a delicious HEA which I think we all appreciate.

Thank you @authordanalecheminant for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

This book was amazing, and that series epilogue at the end has me feeling all the feels 😭😭🥰☺️ I’d been eagerly waiting for Kit’s story, and oh my goodness that man was going through it! I felt so bad for him and how he felt like he had to hide himself in order not to disappoint others. Watching him rediscover who he was (with the help of Skylar) was so heartwarming! Him and Skylar fit together perfectly and I loved their every interaction! 😍 Kit is literally perfect and so good with kids, and Skylar is so fun and awesome! Gahh I loved everything about this book, these characters, the Wonder Boys, and this series! Highly recommend it! 😆

As we come to the conclusion of this wonderful series, it’s a bittersweet moment… The Wonder Boys have carved a place in our hearts and we don’t want to let go! But endings are inevitable and this one was oh so satisfying!

Kit Morgan, the man we’ve all been waiting for! Getting little bits of information here and there about him in each previous book, and now we get HIS story! And it was so worth the wait! Kit was full of surprises and you just fall more and more in love with him! I loved seeing the real Kit come to the surface. Everything about him was already wonderful and endearing but with Skyler we got the “more”. And that more is what makes Kit positively irresistible. (Can we tell that I’m a little bit in love? 😍🤣)

Skyler and Kit… I loved their second chance romance! Falling for each other at twelve and unknowingly carrying a torch for 17 years for one another. The spark was lit again the instant they saw each other again after all those years. And boy did those sparks fly like crazy throughout the book! And I loved every minute of it 😂.

I totally enjoyed the plot and all of the characters were spectacular. Dana is a genius at creating worlds with the most relatable and lovable characters. You really wish they were real! I am so excited for a spin off series with the singles we met at the reunion! (Perhaps we’ll catch a glimpse of some Wonder Boys there too??? 😁)

I’m a huge fan of epilogues and we get TWO awesome ones for this book! The series epilogue tugs at your heart but I love getting that glimpse into everyone’s future. Definitely a beautiful way to end a series. Well done! We readers thank you for sharing your Boys with us ❤️❤️❤️

Am I sad that this is the final Wonder Boys book? Yes. But was it the PERFECT ENDING? YES!

Seeing all the boys finding their true love was beautiful. The epilogue to the series?! Absolutely perfect! I just … *melts into a puddle*

Seriously, if you’re looking for a sweet, clean, but TOTALLY swoony romance series (with characters you root for from book one!) I HIGHLY recommend this series!

Love in Disguise was a sweet conclusion to the Wonder Boys series. We get to know a lot more about Kit, who has always held this group of friends together. He is the cinnamon roll of all cinnamon roll heroes!

As with the rest of the books in the series, there’s a form of fake dating involved, which is always a delight. I really liked Kit and Skyler together. Plus there are some great new side characters introduced for a new series, including a girl named Micah, whose story I’m excited to read!

I always enjoy a good texting conversation in a book and this one delivers with the Wonder Boys group text chain. The series epilogue felt like a big hug from this friend group we’ve gotten to know in these books.

Read it for:

I absolutely could not wait to unravel the mystery that was Kit Morgan, so I volunteered as a tribute to beta read this gem. (Such a sacrifice. 😂)
This was such a great end to the Wonder Boys series. I absolutely love that Kit wrapped himself up in a fake-dating predicament too, with a dash of second-chance romance to round it off.

Things I Loved:
-A Wonder Baby! 😍
-The meet-cute, the whole thing. So funny.
-The bracelet
-Potato salad
-Micha
-All the group texts
-Goals
-Lying on the floor
-Paintball
-Kit and the wonder twins. SWOON.
-“Practice”
-Ferris Wheel
-YouTube
-The super unique & hilarious grand gesture
-The epilogue
-The series epilogue #allthefeels

I really loved both Kit and Skyler’s growth and how it started with all of Skyler’s perceptions of her family, and then slowly, you see the reality of who they all are through her as she discovered it herself. The series epilogue was just what we needed to for a heartwarming, bittersweet end to a fantastic series. I ♥️ the Wonder Boys.

If you’ve been reading the wonder boys series, you’re likely a little curious about Kit. He seems to be the glue of the friend group. Yet he’s also a bit of a mystery.

This is a second chance love, grumpy/sunshine and fake dating book and it was done in a really fun way. Fake dating always creates some unique fun experiences and this one had me laughing. The side characters were such a great addition and now I can’t wait for the new spinoff series coming next about Skyler’s stepbrother.

I think perhaps my favorite thing about this book was the character growth in each main characters and how the two main characters were a catalyst for this growth in each other.

Don’t miss this last installment of the wonder boys! This book releases tomorrow and is free on kindle unlimited!

4.5 stars. The Wonder Boys has been a favorite Rom-Com so far, and Love in Disguise was the perfect way to end the series. Dana has perfected the fake dating trope, and this book uses a lot of text message dialogue to enhance the story, which was so fun! It really allows the reader to see the personality of each Wonder Boy come out.

It boggled my mind that a relationship could be based off a junior high romance, so I had a harder time relating to that. However, the character development was on point and showed how both Kit and Skylar grew together throughout the book. And the ending…definitely my favorite part!

Thank you to the author for the advance copy. All opinions are my own, I was not required to share a review of this book.

I've been wanting Kit Morgan's story since book 1, Love on Camera, but I wasn't prepared for it! We know that Kit is the one who put The Wonder Boys together but we don't know much about him except he's: Madi's brother, a teacher, and set in his ways. The man doesn't like change which I completely understand, but we find out he hasn't always been like that. There's a Christopher Morgan that we've never seen before and oh, boy he's something else and I'm here for it.

Kit is the Wonder Boy that's always organized, put together, and has a plan. He's the "mom" of the group--the one everyone goes to with their problems or for advice. That is until he has an unexpected issue at work, then runs into Skyler Montague, his crush from 17 years ago!! Skyler is back in Diamond Springs to open a bookstore and she needs her step-dad's continued help with the financing. Long story short she needs a fake fiancé for a big family reunion and buttoned-down, by-the-book Kit Morgan says he'll do it!!

Oh my these two!! The attraction was there and the chemistry was definitely there. I loved all the scenes at the big family reunion--the accident with the potato salad, Kit's interactions with the kids, making friendship bracelets, tie-dyeing t-shirts, and especially the paintball game. We get to see a Kit we've never seen before--who he was before he thought he had to be responsible for everyone else.

This is a story where both character show a lot of growth, but they grow together, not apart. I loved Kit's interactions with Skyler's step-siblings and I when Skyler stood up for herself to her step-father I was cheering for her! Sometimes we have to toot our own horn and let people know what we're worth.

I love that we got not one, but two epilogues!! One for Kit and Skyler's story and one for the series. I've loved every books in this series--the characters are all so likeable. They aren't perfect but that's what makes them relatable.

I received a complimentary copy but also bought one for my personal library. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

SO CUTE!! Of course there’s some cheese but it’s FUN lol. I loved Micah’s personality so much, she made me giggle several times 🤭 Kit was deeply relatable in his personal struggles and Skylar was a sweetheart; it was so sweet to see them so comfortable together, always touching/holding hands 🥹
Also, yes, I know I read the last book first lol.

CONTENT: very clean! A couple innuendos, and several kisses, moderately described. The two main characters sleep in the bed a couple times, but nothing sexual happens; towards the end they live together but the guy stays the nights at a friends house.

I absolutely loved this book! Each book in this series has been an instant favorite for me, and I knew from the opening lines that this would be another favorite book. ❤️

Oh, Kit. 😍 I loved him in the other books, so I was thrilled that this was his story, and what a great story it was! I feel like Kit would be a hard character to write about, but Dana LeCheminant wrote about him in a masterful way! His character development is so well done, and I loved seeing him grow throughout the story. I also really loved Skyler and her character development! I can’t imagine how hard it must have been for Skyler to grow up the way she did, and I loved seeing how she and Kit brought out the best in each other and how they helped each other overcome their personal obstacles.

I love series with great friend groups in them, and this series stands out to me because it has an amazing group of guy friends. The way the friendships develop and the hilarious things these guys say and do to each other help make this such a fun series!

There’s so much more I want to say about Kit and Skyler, but I don’t want to spoil anything, so I will just say that they are both amazing characters, and their story is so worth reading! I laughed out loud, highlighted many hilarious parts and beautiful lines, and I teared up several times. When I finished the book, I had happy tears in my eyes because I love these characters so much! It was bittersweet to finish this book, but I will definitely be rereading this series in the future, because I’m going to need to revisit the Wonder Boys and their significant others! ❤️

I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This final installment in the Wonder Boys series finally gives us Kit’s story! Kit is always so full of helpful advice for everyone else while he himself buries the issues he needs to address. I love that we get to see the real Kit in this book and unearth who he really is. I think most people can relate to not being able to be your true self sometimes.

The chemistry between Kit and Skyler was smoking hot while keeping it classy! I loved the paintball scene and the potato salad debacle. There are so many great moments throughout the book. This story really brings the Wonder Boys full circle and I loved the epilogue. I am so sad to see the series end but so grateful to have been on the ride. Hopefully this is not the end of them for good, maybe LeCheminant will cameo them in a new series? One can hope! I received a copy of this book for free; all thoughts and opinions are my own.

THIS BOOK!!! 😍😭

I read this story in an evening & finished with a smile on my face and tears streaming down my cheeks. Madi & the Wonder Boys have became my friends—friends I’ve cheered for & cried with, friends I’m sad to say goodbye to.

Kit & Skyler were utterly adorable and absolutely perfect together! And oh, how I laughed over their escapades! Plus, seeing all the other Wonder Boys was a treat! Yet there was so much heart packed into these pages. Kit feels stuck in the same routine. Feels like he’s being left behind. Wears a mask because he’s afraid of disappointing those he loves. Oof, I felt that so much. 😭

Was this book all I hoped and more? Absolutely! Was it a stunning finale to the series? Beyond all doubt!

Dana, you broke my heart in the best of ways! This series is an all time favourite & I am already eager to start rereading!! 💛

“‘Did you ever think we would get here?’ she asked, taking Oliver's hand as their chaotic family filled the kitchen.
‘Sometimes I wondered,’ Oliver admitted. ‘But yes. I knew, one day, we would all have these incredible lives that felt so unreachable back when we were kids. Maybe we didn't talk about it all the time, but we all wanted this. For ourselves and for each other.’”

This book was the perfect ending to the Wonder Boy series. I loved how much we got to learn about Kit, our Wonder Boy leader. This book had all the emotions for me! I was never bored or tired of reading it.

I 110% recommend this read and hope everyone loves it as much as I do!!

The Wonder Boys have truly lived up to their name!!!

"Kit Morgan, you can't just go around ninja attacking people with big emotions!"

"You are a paintball king with a heart of gold who spends his summers planning friends' weddings and comforting little kids. You notice things no one else notices, and I don't think there's anyone in the world who doesn't feel worthwhile if you're around. You live big and love hard."

Read if you like:
* Fake Relationship
* Close Proximity
* Dual POV
* Second Chance Romance
* Clean Romance
* Strong Character Arcs
* Part of a series, but can be read as a stand alone (however, I highly recommend reading the whole series in order!)

Dana has done it again!!! With each successive book in this series she has taken characters that we thought we knew and added layer upon layer to them. In Love In Disguise we finally get Kit's story and wow, was it worth the wait! We all know Kit as the reliable one, the glue that holds the Wonder Boys together but, after a series of unfortunate events, Kit is suddenly facing an uncertain future.
On the flip side Skylar grew up facing nothing but uncertainty and change and thus doesn't trust that anything in her relationships can be permanent so she keeps a wall between herself and her family to keep from getting hurt. I loved watching these two help each other find the courage to open up to each other and their family and friends and be their true selves.

Favorites:
* The Diner Scene
* Paintball
* The Bracelet
* Kit with the "Wonder Twins"
* "Practicing"
* The You Tube Videos
* Potato Salad Mishap
* The Ferris Wheel
* Hypnotized Kit
* Skylar's Family
* Kit's Grand Gesture
* The Wonder Boys (and their girls) Texts (Dana is so good at incorporating texts in her books.)
* The Epilogues (both of them!!!) I love that we got a book epilogue and a series epilogue!

I have loved every book in this series and while I am sad to see it come to an end I am so excited that there will be a spin off series. I can't wait to dive into the Briggs Sibs books, they can't come soon enough!

* I received an ARC of this book from the author, however, all thoughts and opinions are my own. I actually loved this book so much that I purchased a physical copy as soon as they were available.
