H.G. Royster has a modern and authentic voice, she speaks to the reality of life as a junior doctor in a humerus and eye opening (occasionally triggering) way! I’d 100% recommend to anyone interested in the behind the scenes of being a doctor!

I knew being a doctor was hard, but I didn’t think it would be that hard.
I was pleasantly surprised by how well written and how incredible this journey was. I laughed, I cried and I got annoyed. A great read and I hope the author writes a second novel about residency!! :)
The whole time I was reading I just kept thinking about past friends and what they endured- I felt sad but I know within their families and friends they have a strong support network. I wanted to reach out and ask them if they were okay. Doctors truely are lifesavers!! Don’t forget to ask R U OK!!!
