About the author

Rachel Clift is a writer, traveler, photographer, & artist based in the mountains of East Tennessee.

She began this journey of writing poetry in 2017 and has published seven books since the summer of 2019.

In the writing world, she is known as R. Clift or The Constellation Poet. More than anything, she longs to inspire people— in some way, somehow, to love who they are and live life courageously.

I'm happy and honoured to say that my poetry has been a part of this beautiful collection of Unsent letters. It's an wonderful initiative by R. Clift, to bring people together from over 34 countries, to share and write something that's meaningful and personal to each of us. An opportunity to let go of heavy thoughts or memories that are a burden, collated into words that were left unsaid.

This book isn't something that can be read in just one sitting. It's one that you pick up when you're feeling nostalgic, when you miss someone, when you want to relive a past in seasons.

I loved how it brought together so many people, people I have never seen, spoken to and might not ever see or speak to ever, and yet so many letters in this book are relatable, in a way that expresses many things in my life that I might have left unsaid.

This book mustn't be mistaken for letters to a lover only. It's letters for your future and past self, parents, grandparents, siblings, friends, first loves, exes, acquaintances, spouses and a lot more. It's love, infinite.

Phenomenal idea riddled with complex perspectives. It is often easy to cling to a certain outlook of life, or the way one or several articulate their experience, ultimately giving you someone to look up to. This book is inspiring in the diversity of writers all with words that left unspoken, and perhaps by letting them be known they can be intoxicated with new words and instances. It also drove me to write poem about a kite, letting go and choosing to be grounded where I am healthiest. Three of the letters are mine, who knows one could be written to you.
