Questionable Tactics is the blistering new high octane thriller from best selling author Gavin Stone.
The US secretary of defense is dead, assassinated by Raymond Napier, a megalomaniac genius. Napier has stated that if his demands are not met, 10,000 more Americans will die. With orders from the White House to stop Napier at any cost, the FBI's Agent Carver considers deploying Scott Lomax, a man the government locked away after he was deemed too dangerous and uncontrollable. Lomax is a man with a singular purpose and a penchant for extreme violence. But on the rare occasion he's unleashed, he's extremely capable and has proven exceptionally useful to the government. Lomax is not completely alone. He has the calming influence of Mary Collins, a British medical expert. However, Collins soon learns that her influence is only superficial. With pressure from above and against every professional instinct in his body, Carver makes the reckless decision to unleash Lomax. Lomax refuses to help. This changes when Carver makes a revelation. But what is that revelation?
Hold on tight for the ride of your life as Gavin Stone's new action antihero, Scott Lomax, is about to engage very QUESTIONABLE TACTICS.
"Violence, intrigue, action and a story line that’s scary because it could so easily be true, the best thing I’ve read this year” Douglas Lock author of Lock
“Scott Lomax unleashed is a whirlwind of energy and excitement, that will keep you turning the pages. Buckle up, folks. It’s an amazing journey.” - David Darling, author of the Noah Hunter series.

"If James Bond is getting sensitive, then Scott Lomax, the protagonist of this book, would cause all kinds of nightmares for H.R., local building codes, hospitals, car repair shops, and the billionaire class. Meanwhile, Bond would be crying into his virgin martini about the CO Offset of his Lotus Esprit and a turtle he surprised while surfacing. James Bond is on steroids, literally ,I put that their for grammarians to wince at; yeah, I did that too :P
The book reads like a movie treatment and would make a kick-ass movie, ridiculously violent in the manner of Commando Era movies in the 80s, leaving you looking for some humor to bring it back to earth. Thankfully, the book is not shy of that :)
The setup is as follows: A bad guy wishes to force the US medical system to start doing its job properly. He hatches a scheme and a demonstration that suggests he could remotely kill anyone he wanted when he wants unless his demands are met. He impressively demonstrates this as the US Secretary of Defense and suggests that many thousands more will die. Oh, and we’ve got to have a ticking clock…
It’s the kind of situation where you would need an uncompromising force of nature to stop them by whatever means, even questionable tactics. Add in a UK agent to “keep an eye on him,” and we have a buddy comedy/thriller that needs to get made. he likes to keep his eyes on her too, for purely professional reasons, naturally.
There are also some nice asides about how the USA treated doctors who didn’t have the Reich views on treatment, which fits nicely into the motivation for the bad guys."
