You know that Netflix show with the size-two, twenty-something woman who has an affair with a handsome, hotshot chef in Paris? Everyone told me to watch it before I left for vacation. Yeah, right! As if that stuff ever happens in real life. -Victoria Espinoza, a size-curvy, almost-forty divorcee before having an affair with a handsome, hotshot chef in Paris
A grumpy, jaded culinary celebrity who avoids the spotlight.
A feisty vacationer ready to conquer Paris one croissant at a time.
Two people find each other seventeen years after a chance encounter. When their attraction burns hotter than a kitchen fire, they start an affair more sensual than their wildest imagination.
But other factors start going into the mix: affection, laughter, care, understanding, and chocolate. So much chocolate.
Are they ready for passionate love that lasts beyond a vacation fling, or are they just falling for Paris?
Laura writes romances featuring women who slay their own dragons and the men who love them fiercely. In her books, the fall is hard, the steam is blinding, the groveling is glorious, and the passion all-consuming.

Grumpy/Sunshine Celebrity chef MMC Second Chance Sassy/ curvy FMC Vacation Fling BDSM awakening
This was a fun quick read about a hot grumpy chef and a sassy divorcée on an extended vacation in Paris. I enjoyed the initial time jump giving us the glimpse into the past. There is tension, angst, banter and this instant connection and chemistry! This is a quick to love story but there are barriers that they must overcome. I enjoyed the characters growth they had together. But there were a few parts of the story that just felt a little rushed I would have liked to enjoy more! But overall I enjoyed this story and I loved the ending!
“Hold me tight and don’t let go. Tell me I belong to no one else but you. Tell me you won’t let me leave.”
I received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.
Tori was looking for a nice break from her upside down life and went to Paris for a cooking class (because that is her favorite place to be).
Rafael is a well known chef who has to cover a class in his cooking school, when all he wants to do is be alone in his house in the country.
On the first day of class they recognize each other but Rafael has his guard up and keeps her at a distance and he is very grumpy. When he would give attitude she would give it right back (in front of everyone).
This book was so cute, and I loved the banter between the two and to watch them fall in love was just wonderful.

Hello. This book was so much more than I expected. This spicy (open-door) romance made me blush. Some say second chance romance, I say a story of learning to live and love again. They had a chance run in once as young adults and find themselves together again as adults, her after a divorce, him after a medical diagnosis.. she is tired of being in control and he is more than happy to take it LOL
I always enjoy Laura's books ❤️ im normally one for a dark romance full of guns and violence but then I have a welcome break in the world that Laura creates!
Tori is on a French trip with her class when she bumps into a handsome young chef that offers her a bite of his croque monsieur in a time of need. Many years later when she returns to the city that held her heart the last thing she expected was for the chef to be her new teacher.
This book is full of sass, good food and laughs whilst also facing the tough subject of a chronic disease. I felt every emotion along with each character throughout this book and cannot wait for the next one ❤️
Yet another delightful story that shows people with pasts that have scarred them, yet able to embark on new experiences. A novella for sure, but it was full of love, laughter, tears, amazing food, and hope.
Thanks to Laura Marquez Diamond for the early copy for review.
The characters came alive. I did get aggravated with these two from time to time. I loved the connection Tori had with her family. It was time for a character in a book to have a good family. This is a must read.
My first book I’ve read by Laura and I really enjoyed it. Victoria and Rafael met while Victoria was on a college trip. Fast forward 17 years later, Victoria returns to Paris to rediscover herself after experiencing a divorce. While in Paris, Tori reconnects with Rafael when she finds out that he is a celebrity chef and they rekindle their friendship/relationship.
The cover really threw me off, thinking it’s a sweet girl’s vacation trip to Paris, but quite the contrary. After seeing what Rafael says when he picks up Victoria for a date, oh my freaking goodness!! And the tension and banter between these two, okay wow! The ending made me so happy! So happy that Tori & Rafael got a HEA!
Tropes: ❥ Grumpy x sunshine ❥ Celebrity chef MMC ❥ Second chance ❥ Sassy/curvy heroine FMC ❥ Vacation fling ❥ BDSM awakening
What its about: After life’s whirlwinds, Tori ends up in Paris again and meets Hotshot Celebrity Chef, Rafael. The catch? This isn’t their first meeting.
My Thoughts Definitely an unexpected spicy little read! I loved the imperfections on both lead characters!
Tropes: *GrumpyxSunshine *Second Chance *Dom/Sub
“I spend all day obsessed with all the ways you tempt me. And my nights wanting to punish you for it” -Rafael
📖 (Plot) This was an overall great little read. It does require one to actually like the tropes involved aswell as an open mind as the emotions involved are realistic and… well mature. At first I thought the story was quite fast paced.. and then I realised that the book itself is under 200 pages. Its well written, food orientated (great bonus), and made me want to pack my bags and go to Paris! I also loved the nod towards mental health and chronic illnesses. I think this is so important in modern society where the reality is that romance and your ‘prince charming’ may not be perfect.
👤 (Characters) Victoria: I loved how she is so strong willed and can stand up to her own feelings without all the unnecessary ‘drama’. To be fair, she is ‘almost forty’ and a divorcee so she has every right to be! She was full of sass and I was living for it! Rafael: omg… he was definitely an ass in the beginning. But as the story progressed, we can see why. His character development felt real and him being a celebrity chef definitely was appealing (*cough the food references 😜 cough*)
🌶️ (Romance/Spice) Definitely Insta-lust. But its forgivable where they are at in life 😉 I absolutely loved how they both learnt more about themselves as you they were finding each other. And despite the many open door scenes, I found their love quite pure… plus the plane scene was just sweet 🥰
“You remember. You remember our meeting.” Only family and friends from her youth called her Tori. And only once would he have heard it. “Yes, I remember. Though you’re the farthest thing from a nice college girl now, aren’t you?” “I haven’t been that for a very long time,” she snickered. “And you,” she emphasized the word with a pointed finger, “you’re no longer the sweet boy who offered me kindness when I needed it.” Before she could retract her finger, he grabbed her wrist. “You’re right about that. I’m far from kind. And you should know, Tori, you locked yourself in here with a man. Not a boy.”

When Victoria first visited Paris she met a kind boy who shared his sandwich with her, when she returns many years later she discovers that the kind boy has turned to a hurt man.
You get plenty of spicy scenes mixed with self discovery and dealing with past trauma. As both Rafael and Tori deal with the looming deadline of Tori’s return flight will they make the leap for love so they could one day have the happiness they have always wanted without losing themselves.
If you have read any of the other Destination Love series you’ll be happy to know the other sister do feature in this one too!
Book series REVIEW!!! I am including all 3 books for the Desination Love series by @romancinglauramd
The END.
Eeek I just read the final the end of the Espinoza sisters book and now I'm all up in my feelings! I swore I would love book 1 the most, then I ready book 2 and was positive it was the best, but tonight I finished book 3 and well you guessed it, it stole my heart too! There's no possible way to choose a best or favorite, they each were so perfect. The character development, the plots and the angst and banter in each book was perfectly done. This is a series I would highly recommend to anyone looking for romance, laughter, and some tough times that bring people together.
Book 1: Kat and her awful boss Max end up on a business trip together, Kat thinks that absolutely nothing good could come from it but her boss has other plans. 🔥🔥
Book 2: Celina lost the love of her life to an accident and she thinks finding another person to love will never be possible, but then a quick trip to her late husband's friend Dane's canadian cabin results in some very spicy and romantic times. 🔥🔥🔥
Book 3: Tori divorced and unsure of her future goes to Paris for a few weeks, takes a cooking class and just so happens the instructor is none other than Rafael who she had met 17 years ago on a trip to Paris with her friends. Thongs do NOT start off pleasant with the reunion but angst soon turns into flaming desire. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
It’s supposed to be Emily in Paris but plus sized and forty. There weren’t many comments about her body at all so she could’ve been straight sized.
This was ok. Kind of bland and I expected more description and to “feel” like I was in France. They get together early on and I was kind of bored then. Despite being novella length and about 170 pages this dragged.
They met as early 20 somethings while she was studying abroad but lost touch. She miraculously comes back to France after her divorce about 20 years later and unknowingly ends up in his cooking class.
He’s a grumpy chef. He has nerve pain and scars on his arm. They have a lot of sex. There’s some dom/sub lite stuff. They go to his country house have more sex and cook together. There’s not much plot.
She’s going back home so they break up. There’s a bit of a miscommunication trope because he says something that makes her think all the time they spent together meant nothing to him. Really it’s his insecurity about his arm and nerve pain.
They end up making up on the plane. He upgrades her to a first class ticket and buys a ticket for himself to go back with her. The end. There’s an epilogue with a marriage proposal and her sisters.

This was a really fun read. I mean, who doesn’t love books about Paris, great food, a hot chef, and love?
Tori and Rafael met when young, but something happened and they didn’t get to meet up as expected. Years later, Tori returns to Paris to have some fun and find herself again. Tori runs into Rafael again and their instant connection never died. Tori found Rafael a mad and removed shell of a man because of a condition he developed. But, her love of food, travel, and good nature calls to him and makes him long for things he never thought he could have. She breaks down his barriers and shows him he can be the man she needs and have everything he wants as well.
What I loved about this book is that they found themselves in finding each other! I definitely recommend!
I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
I love Laura’s books! I’ve read most if not all of her books and it didn’t disappoint. This is the 3rd installment to the Destination Love series where each sister had her own separate story. I loved both 1 and 2 and looking forward to this 3rd book!
The story was about second chances, a touch of spice, lots of angst, back story and HEA! Flashback, Tori met Rafael during a trip with her class. Years later, she was a divorcee, gave up everything and went to Paris. She didn’t expect to meet Rafael in France and was surprised that he became a celebrity chef. I love how Laura incorporate all the sisters in these books and how they love and protect each other. It was a great, short read for me but with lots of laughter, good food and optimism. You’ll end the book with a satisfied sigh. Thank you for the ARC!
i was warned about the spice but i wasn't that prepared for how spicy this book is! i also read other spicy books but i think this is the first time i read a spicy romance between characters on their 40s (please correct me if i'm wrong with their age).
what i loved about this book: - i took interest with the cooking classes scenes in this book. the author did a great job in writing those - the banter between them is good! - the chemistry between the characters was written well - i loved how the characters expressed their self-discovery throughout the story - i loved reading how they fall in love. i read some of the nicest love quotes i've ever read in books here.
what i didn't really enjoy much in this book: - the unexpected spice threw me off at first so i had to adjust for a while. it's not bad; i wasn't just used to reading older characters being that sexually active i guess? but their chemistry is so undeniable i understand the heat they share with each other - i didn't love rafael's character at first. he was such a pain i almost gave up reading the book. i'm glad i didn't
thank you to the author for providing an ARC in exchange of my honest review 💛
Grumpy/Sunshine Celebrity chef MMC Sassy/ curvy FMC Vacation Fling
Book 3 of the Destinaton Love series. It was a quick and easy to read. The couple met seventeen years prior in the prologue. The grumpy chef and divorcee meet again when Victoria sets off on her own version of eat, pray, love in Paris. Despite instant attraction and chemistry, this vacation fling had a few speed bumps on the road to becoming ready to love again.
This novella was simply breathtaking. Following Victoria’s story as she reunites with an old flame in this heart wrenching tale of love and sacrifice to get you what you want, and to believe in yourself for who you really are. Touching and emotional as well as just the right enough humor. Absolutely loved it.
This is my first book from Laura Marquez, and I'm kinda upset about that. This book is so good and a second change romance. Not very spicy but that doesn't make the book any less of a great book for it. I love the relationship tori has with her family. It's so good to have the relationship in a book every now and then.
This was my second book by Laura, and another which I loved. This short novella focuses on Victoria, who meets aspiring chef Rafael whilst on a summer vacation in Paris. Their encounter is short and sweet nothing but a hello and sandwich offer but an encounter that will forever be memorable.
Fast forward seventeen years, Victoria is taking a break from work and finds herself in Paris. Undertaking a cooking course her path again crosses with Rafael - but he’s a changed man, his warm nature is replaced by worry, insecurity a form of helpless due to a diagnosis which has impacted his work and life.
This story pulls you in from the start, it’s engaging, fun, with the added benefit of hearing about some amazing food.
It’s a grumpy sunshine trope, both characters are likeable and the chemistry between these two is perfectly balanced. There’s a lot of spice but also a lot of understanding and hope - a move away from the past and a journey to recovery and self discovery. It’s emotional at times, but carefully balanced with the right amount of humour.
The chapters are relatively short and easy to follow. It’s a quick read, but packs enough detail to make you feel all the feels. You can’t really go wrong with a story that entwines romance, spice and food and I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good romance.
I really enjoyed reading this book. This book is a second at love and it's well written!! Victoria & Rafael met while she was on a college trip. Then years later Victoria returns back to Paris to rediscover herself after her divorce, this is where she reconnects with Rafael again.
This romance was so good. Both Ralph and Tori won my heart from the very start. It was just brilliant to see the both of them grow and challenge each other, and I was on the edge of my seat with every chapter. That ending.... Gosh, so so good!! Absolutely loved this book!!!
This was a good read. Based on the cover and description I was expecting a lighthearted read but this was actually more emotional than I expected. I really enjoyed Tori’s character. After going through a divorce she’s doing something for herself and is no longer going to let a man dictate her life. She didn’t take any of Rafael’s crap and spoke her mind. There was a lot of tension (sexual and non-sexual) between these two. Some of the sexy talk made me cringe. It just read awkwardly for me. Overall good story full of tension and emotion that will give you a little bit of wanderlust.
