While attempting to commit suicide by heroin overdose, Frank McCall reflects back on the previous fifteen years of his life struggling with addiction which has ultimately led him to the decision to end his life. Frank offers the confessions of a heroin addict through his grim, explicit and dismally funny memoir Devil's Venom. Coming face to face with death, this wretched tale takes readers on a chaotic ride through the life and mind of a hopeless junkie and his path to recovery, ultimately redeeming himself.
Frank's ability to reveal himself, with full transparency, the details of his wrongdoings and crimes will both frighten and inspire you as he sheds light on the mindset of a heroin addict and his miracle path to recovery.
This is an amazing addiction memoir. It's crazy how similar our stories are (except length of clean time. I got 4 yrs 7 months). Unfortunately, I had to remove a star for the repetition of "the God I didn't believe in". We get it! It was on every page it seems like. At one point in time, I ALMOST quit reading it because of that one line. Other than that, this has been one of my favorite addiction memoirs ever!
Although I’ve never been an addict or lived the life. I know ppl who have. Thank you for sharing your story! I hope it will give other addicts hope to make a change.
