I absolutely loved Damien and Ivy! The book really dragged me out of a reading slump because I have been EXTREMELY busy lately and it was just what I needed. If you liked the Anna Huang Twisted series then the Masquerade series would be perfect for you because I really feel the vibe is similar!
The characters? The story storyline? The emotions? The 🔥?
It was hard not to fall in love with the main characters. Leah wrote so well that I felt like I knew and understood Ivy, Damien and Stella so well. There was something in each of them that I felt I could relate to. All such different people who fit perfectly together in this story.
I genuinely felt I was on a rollercoaster of emotions with this book and was so emotionally immersed, which I find rare in books these days. I also feel like I learned a little about myself with the way Leah wrote about how we all wear masks and sometimes we need a new one to start over and it’s okay if it sticks.
Let’s not forget about all the hot, jaw dropping and addicting sex scenes (I even sometimes went back and read those parts more than once)🙈
Every new chapter came with a twist and made you never want to put the book down. At one point, I even pretended to be in a teams meeting for an hour because I just couldn’t stop!
Thank you Leah for taking me on this journey of a story and I genuinely CANNOT wait for book 2 💗💗
It started off interesting but went downhill by the 50% mark. Both the leads are worse than immature teenagers from there onwards. DNF'd on page 260. Very disappointed.
I recommend this for anyone who... - loves bad boys with good souls - likes a little mystery and suspense tossed into a romance - wears a mask to protect themselves and/or others - likes to laugh and smile
The spice in this book is the perfect recipe for a decadent five course meal. You'll devour every page with new excitement and curiosity. I kept going back for more, and I was left feeling satisfied and full at the end.
Once I started reading, I was done in 2 days! Could not put the book down and I was on vacation! The spice was spicy!! The twists were twisty! The plot was amazing! Everything you want in a book, is in this book. I will be adding a copy of the book to my bookshelves for a book trophy.
It was a good book. Ivy gets on my nerves at times lol but the plot was good. I feel like I wanted more of their relationship. I recommend this book. Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Oh Damien how my heart beats for you. You sexy swoony man. And Ivy, you badass beautiful dancer.
From the moment you start this book you’ll be enthralled with these two characters, the constant cat and mouse game played at first and the pull between these characters that won’t let them be apart, you fall hard for them. The chemistry between Damien and Ivy is HOT🔥 the scenes are detailed and intimate and everything you could dream of 🤤
If an alpha who is all in with his girl is what you look for then this is it for you, because Damien oh boy ... he’s dedicated, sweet, salty dominant, ride or die with Ivy and you will definitely swoon over him.
For a first time author Leah did an exceptional job. The story that’s woven is mysterious, thrilling, swoony, and so interesting it will keep you on your toes reading the whole way through until the end when all secrets will be revealed and the story is wrapped up beautifully.
I'm legit filled with shock & awe that Masquerade is Leah K. Plamm's debut, but I'm definitely grateful that she decided to take a chance because she's simply brilliant so I can't even fathom what she's going to put out next but I'm HERE FOR IT! This story had everything that I love about my books with heat & passion, super sexy times, a hero & heroine who I loved, and a kicker of suspense with insane twists that kept the loud f-bombs dropping. From the beginning, I was drawn in & nothing else could get my attention until every last page was devoured, and yes, I know that I'm being cryptic, but I want everyone to be as awed as I am by going in blind. The utter perfection of this epically written story is forever tattooed on my heart, and I'm CANNOT WAIT for more (hopefully in the very near future)! Do yourself a solid and hit those one click buttons because I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
I had the pleasure to read one of the initial drafts and boy, I am so glad I took a chance on Masquerade and Leah. xx
Masquerade is Leah K. Plamm's debut novel and it is beautifully written. I say this considering the draft and the final copy. Leah is a great writer and she has done justice to the word of romance.
This book is filled with smokin' hot chemistry and action packed romance between Ivy and Damien. These two characters are EVERYTHING.
Masquerade grabs your attention and puts you at the edge of your seat. It's the suspense mixed with all the sexiness that will leave you hot and bothered. These characters will demand your attention at every single page leaving you wanting for more and I highly recommend this book!
Прочетох я за кратко време само че на няколко пъти тъй като нямах време. Мога само да кажа едно огромно БРАВО. Обратите-на място. Смът- на място. Обачеее на няколко момента много ми се дърпаха локуми затова е 4.5⭐️
It's really quick to read and definitely pulls you in. It does start dragging a bit after 60% but I find this is usual with smut books.
The plot is quite predictable and has all the obvious twists of the genre (car accidents, disapproving parent, crazy ex, kidnapping) but it did have some interesting plot lines. I wish we concentrated more on these (like what happened with Ivy's parents; her programming language; that bank account she found in New York)
However, the smut and the love story, which was the main focus, were pretty good. I really liked Ivy and Damien's relationship progress. It was a nice twist to have the first sex scene before they officially met. I was getting a bit tired of slow burns and "when will they kiss" books 😅
I was very pleasantly surprised by the language as I know it's not the author's first language - very well written. There were few chapters which concentrate more on the characters' inner thoughts rathar than plot and action, which made the progress a bit slow, but I guess it is the author's style and it didn't bother me too much.
It's a bit sad we didn't get to know the side characters more, but I guess that's kind of usual with these type of books.
I will definitely read the next book.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. And your telling me this is the author's FIRST book?! Fascinating! I'm left speechless. Never in my lifetime a book has made me cry. But this book... Well... This book is something else. It made me cry, laugh, scream (in a pillow ofc) and the best thing a bookworm can experience - kicking their feet in the air out of joy. Leah, my hat is off to you. I cannot tell you how much I loved this book. It pains me to realize I cannot experience the book like the first time. But Bravo! 👏🫡
!!! SOME SPOILERS DOWN BELOW !!!
I would love to read about Stella and Lucifer too, but sadly they still don't sell it in my country. And guess what country! BULGARIA. That's right. I'm Bulgarian like Ivy herself, except that I don't have a dark past. And awful parents... And sadly a man like Damien... :(
But anyways. Overall - this book was chefs kiss. I would recommend it to every romance reader. (Sadly I don't have much friends that read...) And I ate that UP and left no crumbs.
I'll update if I find the book somewhere for my fellow Bulgarians :)
well um the premise of this book was great and tbh the writing was easy to get into. but it was too “i wanna write a great romance without really many connections” cuz it felt like there was just trowing of tropes that shouldn’t have been there and the author wanted to explore everything in one book which became a bit much after a while. ivy was nice tbh but she felt a bit dramatic idk how to explain it cuz everyone did try to kill her😭 but she was explaining it all soooo dramatically and the “i feel numb” scene tho it was relatable it wasn’t executed well for me. and damian was cool but he had a very strange logic when it came it ‘i will forgive my ex who tried to stab me because then maybe my gf will forgive me for cheating’ and also he fell in love out of nowhere?? and if we only had one storyline to follow i believe it would’ve been better but the olivia thing was interesting

oh, how i loved every second this!!! ivy and damien, you own my heart!!! brownie points for the pretty cover… it is what got me to open the book to begin with. i love to do blind dates with books solely on a pretty cover and bad boys brings heaven delivered in every way! the action, the mystery, the thrill, the intrigue - so beautifully executed. flawless even. some parts may have felt a little crazy but i felt like this was such a packed story and it all unfolded in a way that made for an unforgettable read. not to mention - the chemistry, the spice, the romance?! burning right off. the. charts. it was intense and i loved every little quirk in ivy and damien’s story. cannot wait to get into stels’ story!
I think overall this is a solid story. The ending caught me by surprise.
There were a lot of characters and I found it difficult to keep up. There were times that a lot of storylines were introduced at once and it was a tad confusing.
Damien and the accident His parents and their issues. Rosalie? Stella and Max?
I have so many unanswered questions. This probably could’ve been at least 80 pages shorter. I also have no idea what correlation the title has to the actual story.

This book is filled with Awww!! After long tym I read a good sweet and spicy romance . The way Damien and Ivy adore each other 💞 is just all. Damien is just the man every girl wants in dream , he isn't perfect but fits Ivy ain all ways possible. The way he handled Ivy secret and gave her assurance that he will do anything to protect her is that readers expected.

It was a 3 until I get to the ending..... annnnnddddd it was a 2.
I am disappointed that I didn't like this book. Because I was actually looking forward to read it and then it just didn't do it for me. Something about the writing style and the plot were too... cringe for me. And then the ending. Bah! I want to stab somebody.
I really loved this book! I was hooked from the very beginning and read almost half of it in one sitting. It was more than just a romance. There was some decent mystery / action elements that I felt elevated the story. Plus the author seems like a pretty awesome human. Would recommend!
I FUCKING LOVE IT. THAT WAS THE FIRST BOOK TO MAKE ME CRY FOR REAL, LITERALLY DAMIEN IS A MAN, A MAN! IF HE'S NOT LIKE DAMIEN DON'T TALK TO ME ABOUT HIM!!!!! LIKE THEIR LOVE LIFE?! MY STANDARDS AFTER THIS BOOK 📈📈📈
This one was by far one of the best books I’ve read this year 🥺 I loved the characters so much; Damien an Ivy are so ❤️🩹❤️🩹✨✨. The storyline is sooo interesting that you can’t stop reading and the writing was sooo perfect!
I enjoyed this book. Although most problems could be prevented by communication. Although the MMC is a dominant concrete head. Although a lot of drama is just produced for dramas sake. I like the FMC to have her own abilities and her love of dancing. A lot of it was hot.
He fact that I bought AND read this in Bg 🫢 Coincidence? I think NOT🧏♀️ ANYWAYS this was a really good book that got me out of my reading slump and I can't wait to read the next one 🥰🥰
