Melody, the second-born princess and heir to the Crimson Shadow's Pack, has had her fair share of troubles in her short eighteen years of living. Heartache, betrayal, and a cheating no-good wolf who shattered her heart. After that, she swore off mates altogether.
But fate has a funny way of intervening. At the next mating ball, Melody meets her mate, and he's everything she never expected.
Marcus, broken from the loss of his first mate in the Dark War, and far from being a full wolf was the hottest bachelor of the kingdom. To hide his shattered heart, he puts on a facade of a playboy.
Little does Marcus know, his mate is a curvaceous, intelligent she-wolf who will challenge him in more ways than one. But there's a catch - Melody is not only his second chance but also the daughter of his best friend.
As their undeniable attraction grows, Marcus must confront his past trauma invoking much possessiveness over Melody. Stalking, seducing, and questionable courting-- Marcus will bring the big guns to win his mate. All the while, Melody must balance the mate bond and take over her father's former pack.

Why do authors create such simpering, self doubting women who create their own frame when none exists and then turn the main female character into a stroppy cow of a character with the emotional range of a teaspoon?
I made it 47% of the way. I could live with the insecurities. But it started turning south for me when Melody chose to believe the words of everyone else and not her mate. How she hypocritically lambasted Marcus for having a past where she, herself, had her own companionship. The level of toxicity she brings by withholding everything to “make him work for it” really concerns me. Definitely have Marcus demonstrate that he’s more than a wolf who wants to get in her pants…but don’t act like a pre-teen playing games. At 47%…Melody starts crying because Marcus praises another woman for BEING a friend! And the image? Crying, broken Melody wiping copious amounts of snot from her nose with the back of her sleeve stomping her foot in the dirt. Seriously. None of these people should be in relationships….and Marcus…just takes it? Please. He needs to dump Melody and Melody needs to grow up.
I love Marcus! He has been torturing himself since the war and never shared his inner demons and what changed him with his best friends. The poor guy is given a second chance at happiness with the youngest princess & daughter of his bff but had to endure the beatings of his mate’s dad and proving his worth from past indiscretions. Marcus turns into a sweet, sexy dominant mate thats helps his mate love her curvy smart self. Although I love that Melody is extremely smart and curvy, different from the average she wolf, I could do without her immaturity. She uses her past to punish her mate and make him prove his worth, her self doubt brings on issues with her pack and she takes forever to stand up to her father and his hypocritical view of her mate. But I understand her viewpoint is limited because she is only 18 and has little experience. I love this author and would love to read a story where the female is not a 18yo who just became eligible to receive a mate. I don’t care if thery are a virgin , but it would be nice to read about a female lead who has more life experience.
Vera Foxx strikes again with a gripping love story between Marcus and Melody. Marcus is a best friend of Melody's alpha father and is quite a bit older that she is. Marcus has a sad, complicated history involving the death of his first mate and gained a reputation of being a playboy during the past 20 years, most of it unfounded. Melody is very bright and fairly inexperienced. Once Marcus realizes she is his mate, he tries, tries, and eventually succeeds in winning her. He has to get the acceptance of her father, his now former best friend and that is a story in itself.
"The Broken Alpha's Princess" is a very absorbing book, full of all kinds of relationship dynamics. I couldn't put it down!.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I finished this in 1 afternoon, usually, I'm not a big fan of female Alphas but Melody's personality was definitely not overly dominant. Also, I was a bit confused on why this was released after Twinning and Sinning, since the order seems off. Anyway, this is a "dad's best friend" fated mate story and I loved that Marcus loved getting Kane worked up. I also love that Melody has more curves than other she-wolves and Marcus is obsessed with it. This whole series is amazing. I don't think any of them could beat Clara and Kane's story, this book is in my top 4 of the series.
Once again Vera Foxx has proven that she stands out from a pack of supernatural romance authors. She has created a fantasy roller coaster ride from start to finish. I love how she weaves the characters she's created from previous adventures into the lives of her latest creations. Follow Marcus and Melody's tale along with the entire Under the Moon Series cast as they find love despite devastating heartaches of life. The Broken Alpha's Princess is definitely worth reading!
Another fantastic book from vera! The characters were amazing and I was very excited to read this story as it was kane and Clara's youngest daughter the middle child melody. She was very different from the other kids but still loved how the story played out. Glad they got their happy ending and with the full family too. Marcus really stepped up and I liked how they both overcame their issues together. Great book and will be reading over and over again!
Melody has just turned 18 and finds her mate is non other than Marcus her fathers best friend. Both have issues from their past but can they work together for a future? Well written engaging story, drama desires, a great addition to the series.

This is such a good one! I’m loving the way the characters come together. The way the story plays out is great! I was a bit hesitant to read this one at first, but I’m glad I started it. I thought it was a good werewolf/dad’s best friend type of romance. Great work! I can’t wait to read another one.

100/10 They just keep getting better and better. I know I sound like a broken record at this point but WOW! Pure gold! I didn’t think I could like this family more but then another book comes out and boom there it is. More love. I do love this world and cannot wait to see what books are coming next.
I absolutely loved this book. The youngest princess, of Kane and Clara, is mated to none other than Kane's best friend Marcus. Both have their own insecurities to deal with while also learning to accept the bond to each other. Drama, love, family, and spice are what you'll get, 100% recommend the read.
These two characters each have their strengths, weaknesses and insecurities when it comed to leading and being together. A happily ever after and plenty of hijinks to make you laugh. Recommend reading the series in order.
This was incredible, it was impossible to put down once started. The chemistry was off the charts the dialogue and the plot was extremely well written and the HEA was amazing with everything wrapped up.

Really liked Marcus from all the previous books an knew there was a lot more to him, so glad he got paired with melody the not so quiet one who does have a bit of Kane in her after all. Hope to get more books from the growing family!!
Another amazing story from Vera Foxx!! Absolutely love Marcus and Melody!! Her intelligence and his playboy personality are so fun and wonderful to read!! So funny and gut wrenching in parts and what another amazing couple!!
Really good book. I enjoyed the growth between both Melody and Marcus. I'm also curious to find out about Marcus' family? That would be great because I assumed he was orphaned after the 1st war. Great job! Can't wait to read the next books
This book was the funniest in the series. After The Dark War it as needed. The author pulls all the punches via her FL. It was so good I just couldn’t stop laughing at the antics of the characters. I do recommend to any one over the age of 18.
So, I always wondered when Marcus would get his happily ever after and this story proved he deserved one. Must read to find out all the twists and plots he faced along side his mate Melody.
Vera’s done it again except this time with the dads best friend trope. Read all about sexy body positivity, and over protective mate and a forked muscle 😜
