I was born and raised in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Wanting to escape life in a big city and concentrate more on working to live than living to work, I moved to the Outer Hebrides in the north-west of Scotland in 2004 and I have lived there ever since with my wife and dogs.
I write post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, dystopian and horror fiction. I’ve released fifty one books across six different series - Safe Haven, The End of Everything, Unsafe, Relentless, The Burning Tree and Scares in Scotland.
In addition, most of my titles are now available as audiobooks narrated by Kim Bretton, so if you’re one of the many people who struggle to find the time to read, you can listen on the go.

Amazing as always! Can’t wait to see where the former residents of Safe Haven end up. After a failed mission of last hope that are going to find some sort of hope just off of hope street. Mike may be finding a new ‘close’ friend and I’m wondering if Wren will will be jealous. These girls are all amazing as hell! I want to be them! I also want to be Kim Brettons friend as well! Her narration is perfection! Kim if you are ever in Texas we can visit some wineries or distilleries!
Another awesome, edge of your seat read, you really feel every emotion reading this series, you take the characters into your heart and they feel like family. Having the girls and Mike fight side by side to try to save what’s left of their community was so exciting and scary at the same time. Loving Griff and to see how he plays his part further along. Was sad to say goodbye to what I feel was an idyllic home but even more excited to see how they get Olsen for what she has taken from them and how their journey goes. Trying not to give spoilers away but this was a brilliant read. Well done Mr Artinian, I never want this series to end. 👏
Yet another great addition to this character driven, emotionally charged series from Artinian. The Safe Haven survivors are now faced with an uphill battle to find food and somewhere to build a community yet again. Mike, Mya, Wren, Robyn and others head into an overrun by zombies Glasgow to do just that.
I absolutely love this series! Most of the longer series that I have read start to feel stale and I often lose interest before the big finale. Not this one! The combination of the Safe Haven and End of Everything series just continues to get better and better!
In book 10, Hope Street, the remaining residents of Safe Haven find themselves trying to find a new place to call home. And, they are doing this without some of their prominent citizens! I really liked the way that the author sets a story in a zombie apocalypse, then throws in tons of emotion and issues that face everyone at one time or another. Even though we aren't living through the zompoc, we can all relate to reaching a breaking point and feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities!
The new characters that were introduced added a lot of great humor (especially Grizz). The dialogue between these people feels so authentic and I found myself laughing a lot, even in the midst of zombie encounters and life or death situations. At this point, I truly feel like I know these characters; they are so much more than just people in a book.
The narrator, Kim Bretton, does her usual amazing job and her voices are absolutely perfect! After listening to so many of these books, I can tell who is talking just by her voices. Perfection!
Now, if Mr. Artinian could just figure out how to supply me with Pop Tarts to eat as I listen to these books.....
It’s getting harder and harder to review the author Christopher Artinian books because they are all so amazing and all the reviews could be the same and fitting all of his beautifully written by his amazing brain and penmanship. And always ends with crazy action seen which leaves you with a need for much more ! If this doesn’t says it all I don’t know what will.
Kim Bretton narration needs no introduction, she does an awesome job reading beautifully each and every one of the characters helping to turn perfection into audio.
Absolutely with out a doubt got my recommendations !
Ps: Input: An amazing author with an amazing imagination ! Output: One hell of an amazing narration ! Ends with: An awesome audiobook.
Yet again, Christopher Artinian has delivered one hell of a book. After living through yet another hellish attack, the survivors must move forward with the only plan they have. This time, the stakes are higher and the risks are even greater than before. Artinian has created a world where you feel immersed in the story. You will feel your heart beat faster and you may even feel the weather he describes. His characters continue to grow with each book, but they are all normal people who have had to step up to help others and themselves survive.
Audiobook: I enjoyed the tenth book in the "Safe Haven" series. This story related the multiple heartbreaking difficulties that the residents of Safe Haven have to face. The tale was filled with many twists and turns. I enjoyed the character arcs. I appreciated the humor found in the tale. Once the audiobook started, I had to listen until the end as the story was so engrossing. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Kim Bretton's narration was engaging, and her performance drew me into the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
This series is an incredible read. A turbulent emotional rollercoaster that just leaves you wanting more. The characters are awesome and you are dragged through every episode with them willing them on. It's brilliant and needs to be on the screen. I found this series after reading The burning tree series another mindblowing read. Alomh with The end of everything. They're so good I got them all on audio book too
My only problem with this series is that I can't go directly to the next book (I guess that's the problem with catching up with the author). Why can't he simply write a quickly as I can read? All kidding aside, I've enjoyed reading about all the characters from Safe Haven, and mourn when one of them dies as if they were real people. If guess the "art" of writing well, is they seem to be real. Well done Chris!
Spoiler? I have mixed emotions about this one. It was good, there was action and I was sad but some things left me wondering why? I'm glad at least there were no losses. I'm wondering why Shaw felt the need to kill the 4 soldiers, would he have still done it if he wasn't suffering? Was the trip to Glasgow a waste of time? Now what? It wasn't easy getting there so it won't be making the trip with 75 other people. And then what? Guess I gotta keep reading.
When I think no there’s no more characters to like, new ones come and we love them! This series is amazing. All the characters get a good enough write up and enough care in the writing it makes us readers just love them. I truly love this series and the end of everything series too. Feels like family :)
another outstanding book in this series. This book see’s mike and the gang venture out on another adventure, it’s action packed and full of edge of your seat drama. We meet lots of new and likeable characters who will no doubt be a great addition to those we already adore, can’t wait to read the next book in this series
Wow! Another rollercoaster of a ride and really does take you from despair to hope. Brutal survival at it rawest and not a AK47 or M16 in sight! The series that just keeps giving and goes from strength to strength. So well written and Chris certainly does his ground/ homework. A brilliant read from start to finish 👍
What an amazing book, it started so bleak and desperate and also showed a warmth and generosity that the Safe Haven family have so much of, I definately got through a few tissues with this one and a few giggles. Christopher Artinian definately knows how to play our heart strings, teamed with Kim Bretton's amazing narration talent they are my dream team for a good audiobook.
I started this book last night and not even 24 hours later, I’m done. I could NOT put it down. EXCELLENT. Safe Haven gets better and better with each installment. Action packed from beginning to end!!!!
stunning! One of the books you have to read in one sitting
You have done it again Christopher. So beautifully written complete investment in the characters that makes you hold your breath for their safety happiness and survival. Amazing
Wow ! Words cannot describe how good this book is. Mr Artinian has done it again. Pulled us into his amazing story where we experience, shock, horror, sadness and laughter and many surprises along the way. It's just brilliant and I'm longing for the next one.
They left Skye with Hope in their hearts. They found Glashu, with tears in their eyes. The Hordes were much more than they expected. Then the Weegies found them. Absolutely brilliant read.
You never let us down. This is another cracking book in the series the pages just fly past. I can’t wait for the next, I know one day this series will end but until then…bring on the next episode. Thank you.
Another warm, exciting and heart wrenching story. How I continue to cry over these characters amazes me. I am never disappointed with the creative way these people overcome tragedies, adversaries and still remain a family. Thank you for another great read!!
The hits keep coming for Christopher, Mike,Bobbi,Wren,Mila are eyeball deep in the $hit once again, they suffered great losses and once again find there self's at wits end.talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Another absolutely cracking book.Just loved this.Especially with one of my favourite characters Shaw. This is going to be a turnaround for the group hitting Glasgow.I can't wait for the next book seriously .
The one word to describe this one. I was on the edge of my seat from page one. You did it again Sir. Absolutely amazing job. I dislike the cliffhanger and now I must wait for the next one. Please hurry as I need to know what happens next. Again fantastic job.
Can the gang catch a break? Well if you like a fast pace storyline with a lot of action and great characters, then you need to read this author. So get his books and leave your reviews.
Things start off bleak in this one, causing Mike and crew to take the most dangerous risk yet Loved the colourful new characters and the growth of others Kim knocks it out of the park with her narration and production as always Can’t wait to see how the new adventure pans out 5stars
Every book leaves you craving for more. Very well written. Always wanting to see what awaits the group around the next corner. But also afraid the series will end. One of the best zombie series I have read.
Chris has done it again. This book totally caught my attention from the beginning. There were lots of action and moments I was on the edge of my seat. Loved it and can't wait for the next one😊😊😊
