Mignon Mykel is the author of the Prescott Family series, as well as the short-novella erotic romance series, O'Gallagher Nights. When not sitting at Starbucks writing whatever her characters tell her to, you can find her hiking in the mountains of her new home in Arizona.
When Kaelyn finds herself at a Police Station when her boyfriend of a few months gets arrested, she’s offered the possibility of starting a new life somewhere else and that’s how she meets Hemming Johansen. Hemming has just decided to accept a position with the Douglas Group and guarding Kaelyn while she gets settled is his first official mission. The one hitch he wasn’t told ahead of time is that he needs to pretend to be her husband until they’re sure nobody is after her. This is a story about two very lonely people who are thrown together by circumstances and end up finding love when and where they least expected. While the storyline might seem a run of the mill one, Hemming and Kaelyn’s surroundings and circumstances make for some entertaining and heartfelt reading. As a recommendation, heed the author’s warnings as she brings to the plate some mental health issues the characters deal with directly and also in their immediate surroundings that might not be something all readers appreciate. Overall, Lone Wolf is a good read with a HEA and I can’t wait to visit Forever and read the next installment about other members of the Douglas Group.
This book hooks you right from the beginning! It's book 2 in the series, but you can absolutely read it as a stand alone. I did read and enjoy book one, Free Bird, so of course I'll say you should read that one first. This new series is based around the Douglas Group, a bunch of former military that now do private security type work, so there are a lot of characters for potential new books, which makes me happy. A couple of times, just trying to put myself in Kaelyn's place, I got a little misty eyed. What she went thru to get her happy ending is unimaginable. I loved Hemming. Something about the big muscled, tattood bad boy wirh a big soft heart just makes me all warm and fuzzy. Add in his protective mode and I'm done. I couldn't put this one down, yet didn't want it to end. I can't wait for more from Forever, Montana. Oh, plus there are little mentions of the Prescotts!
I loved and enjoyed Kae & Hemming so very much!! From the minute they met, even tho she was in shock & he was trying to remain professional, you could feel the click between these two. And the bond just keeps growing throughout their story.
I love the way they communicate, the community and friends they make, the way Hemming researches certain things to make Kae more comfortable. That part of his personality, in particular, caused MAJOR swoon vibes!
And the way Kae helps him through a heartbreaking situation was it's own kind of amazing. I love the way she's there for him!
This whole story is just a fabulous read!! And the ending!!! ❤️❤️❤️
i didn't really like this book to be honest. like there wasn't any real fundamental problems, but for a while i felt really confused, and i also just didn't have any interest in the main characters. i cant really fault the book for me not enjoying it, because i think i just wasn't vibing with the characters personalities or the writing style. they just weren't really for me. the characters felt a little bit flat for me, and the writing style felt a little childish and thats fine, but it just didnt really work for me. i would say you should still probably check it out, and find out if you like it for yourself.
This was a blind date with a book, and I liked it! It’s a quick, little, fast-paced read, and I liked Kae and Hemming. I will probably pick up some of her other books as well. I have a few issues with this book. I do have thoughts: First, I liked the concept of Kae entering into a protection program to escape a mob. I think Hemming and Kae grew as individuals and together, and I enjoyed watching their character develop. What I didn't like was the names of the characters. There were a lot of similar-sounding names, which made it hard to keep track of everyone when they were talking. I also hated how fast the climax of the story was resolved. Literally, the whole point Kae entered the program was to get away from bad people. When said bad people finally catch up to her, everything is all peaches and cream within paragraphs. It's almost like the sex took greater precedence compared to the whole reason she was there. I just wish the final battle was a little more developed.
Hemming and Kae are two of my favorite characters of Mignon. This story took me by surprise but in the best way possible. I loved every word and could not put the book down!
This story has such a great take on the fake marriage trope and adds in a mixture of action and some fun and spicy adventure!
Hemming’s broodiness and Kae’s gentle nature mixed so well that they just worked. If you haven’t read or tried Mignon’s books what are you waiting for? Her books have everything you need when reading romance!
i’m kind of obsessed with this, and now i’ll need to go read book 1!
i love a romantic suspense, and this one was so so good. i love that we have plenty of side characters to hopefully get more books from.
the romance was so sweet. although it’s a “fake” marriage scenario, the romance itself felt so realistic. they bickered, they teased each other, but they both wanted the other to be happy so badly.
the suspense was also good, but i’d say it takes the back burner to the romance, with the exception of the ending👀
Marriages of convenience, fake relationship, fake marriage, one bed, I love all of those tropes, and they are beautifully combined in a highly believable way in Lone Wolf.
If spicy, tender scenes between really hot characters are your cup of tea, Mignon is easily one of the best authors out there.
I’ve read this author’s work before, but a different trope. This one is just as good! Kelly/Kae and Hemming are thrust into a fake relationship as a Witness relocation sort of situation. Both go in thinking a year max & we divorce. Life goes on. Unfortunately, they end up being just what the other needs & are too stubborn to fight those feelings. And lucky for us that they don’t!
Love this book and love this series! As always Mignon Mykel score big time with her strong heroes and even stronger women they are sworn to protect! I highly recommend this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kaelyn and Hemming! One! And I thought I reviewed this and didn’t pay close attention. I love these two and this story and these characters and this town! I can’t wait for more!!!
Terrific read. The FMC is in need of a bit of an aleternative take on the witness protection relocation program. The amazion solution implemented? Marriage, why of course. I cannot recommend this book enough. I was just as big a fan as I was of the first book. Don't miss out!
I was sucked in at the first “tick.” I couldn’t read the pages fast enough, but I never wanted the book to end. I love everything about Hemming, Kae, and their story.
