Novels of French writer Jules Gabriel Verne, considered the founder of modern science fiction, include Journey to the Center of the Earth (1864) and Around the World in Eighty Days (1873).

This author who pioneered the genre. People best know him for Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea (1870).

Verne wrote about space, air, and underwater travel before people invented navigable aircraft and practical submarines and devised any means of spacecraft. He ranks behind Dame Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie as the second most translated author of all time. People made his prominent films. People often refer to Verne alongside Herbert George Wells as the "father of science fiction."

Uma das histórias mais famosas de Júlio Verne! Muito entretida e lê-se muito bem. Uma aventura que leva os protagonistas às entranhas da terra em busca de glória e reconhecimento, mas o que encontram desafia toda a lógica e conhecimento científico… conseguirão estes heróis voltar da sua viagem e gozar os espólios da sua jornada? Verne era um génio visionário, muito interessante o enquadramento científico nos seus livros.

Terminei hoje a segunda história (As Índias Negras) deste volume. Não conhecia esta história de Verne, é uma história engraçada e que fala um pouco da vida dos mineiros e dos perigos a que estão sujeitos. Uma história sobre lealdade, isolamento e, verdadeira felicidade. Boa história!

Minha primeira leitura de Jules Verne, gostei muito dessa viagem com poucas personagens e tão distintas entre elas. Tem alguns momentos em que a leitura fica cansativa mas que a vontade de saber onde eles vão parar é maior que a vontade de parar.
