The Onis Chronicles #1
Reign of the Ancients: Part 1: The Prophecy
The Prophecy:
Elf born, raised by wolves, and talks to dragons… who is this girl? She wants to find out too, as she abandons the safe confines of her home to discover the truth for herself. Blessed with a great magic, she is anything but “normal”—no matter how much she wishes to be. The young elf is known by many names, and some believe her to be the one of prophecy that will unite the land of Onis. It is no easy task that has been placed on her shoulders. There is no love between the dragons, the elves, the humans, the dwarves, and the drow, so getting them to listen will not be a simple task. Luckily, the wolf child has an unprecedented team of cohorts to aid and guide her on her quest, but is she ready for such a challenge? Will the great dragon, Aeris’, extreme hatred be overcome so that peace can be brought to the land? Or, will the young girl fail in her quest and bring forth an even greater war between the races?
Reign of the Ancients Series:
In a region ruled by ancient dragons, terrorizing all the two-leggeds into hiding, while the very land around them is dying, a prophesied elf is sent to Onis to confront the ancients and restore the land. Will she overcome the dragons' hatred and fulfill her destiny? Or will the land face an even greater danger yet to come?

FANTABULOUS!! When’s book 2 coming?
First I’ll start by saying that fantasy is not my genre. It was recommended by a friend and they were right…I loved it. The writer did an awesome job creating a whole new world, full of history and lovable characters. They all have their own unique personalities and idiosyncrasies which can be humorous at times. The story itself is truly one of a kind. It weaves a tale of a 1000 yr old war and a prophecy told that only 1 can put an end to, the dragon’s mortal enemy…an Elf.
I read about 70% of it in the first sitting and finished it the next time I opened it. I have read it 2 more times and loved that there were little things I thought were unimportant the first time that had a lot of meaning and insight into the overall story. And given where it ended, there’s a long long journey ahead of The Chosen One and her cohorts. It will definitely leave you wanting more and I can’t wait to read the next one.
Also, it is not overly grotesque and violent and I felt comfortable enough to allow my 12 yr old niece read it. She loved it too.

Doesn't matter what books you typically go for on the shelf, because this one has a little bit of everything all in one. From coming-of-age story and the type of sweet, kindling romance (and heart break) you'll remember from your youth to action-filled fight scenes with fantastical creatures and characters, you'll find a sprinkle of every genre in the pages of The Onis Chronicles! Without any spoilers, all I can say is the ending definitely left me wanting more.. I can't wait for the second book! I'm glad I decided to take a dive into the world of Onis, I promise you won't be disappointed either!

This well written and entertaining book impressed me! It is my first book by Ms. Davies. The story is well told, and her writing style makes it easy to understand the plot and the characters. What an imaginaton! I found this book hard to put down, and am looking forward to the next in the series.

One of my favorite new authors! I could not put this book down and completed it in two days.
The writer has a profound way of keeping you moving through the story where you feel you are on the journey through Onis! Great descriptions and the added sketches really add to the appeal in my opinion.

It's a really good book. The author has created an interesting world with likable characters. As Laila comes into her powers, it makes the story even more interesting. I especially like the color portraits of the characters. Can't wait to read part two.

The Prophecy
Great story, with excellent world building. The main characters draw you in, rooting for their success. Secondary characters are well rounded, and add to the story. I am really enjoying this series, and can't wait to read the next one!

This book is a must read and it’s good for any ages I am almost seventy six and I find the book intriguing
I didn’t want to put it down the writer captures your curiosity on every page wondering what’s going to happen next or wether they can survive what comes next
Although I have finished it I can’t help wondering what’s next will she accomplish her feat and if so how
Can hardly wait for the next book in the series
If possible I would rate this book 10 out of 5

Reign of Ancients has all the elements of an Epic novel; Elves, Dragons, Drow a human and a Dwarf. Not only is the world building wonderfully laid out but the character development is amazing for a first novel. This is without doubt 'One of those rare books' that is impossible to put down! It is a young elf girl's quest to unite the lands of Onis against the dragons but it is also a quest of self discovery as she is being called the one of prophecy who will defeat the dragons. On her way, she is joined by a human wizard and his uncle Hort, who is a dwarf, Hort's wife who has magic of her own, a Drow and a Dragon. Pavula has her work cut out for her if she is to unify the lands against the dragons and bring peace to the lands of all the races. This is a wonderfully enthralling gem of a book that will deliver hours of pleasure in the reading and one that I highly recommend. I thoroughly enjoyed every last page and anxiously await book two in this magnificent series. EK

What a wild ride!
It is not difficult to find new stories to read in a genre full of the fantastic and whimsical. It is rare, however, to find one that is so engaging.
The author has woven a tale that blends elements of many great fantasy traditions that is worth reading. Moreover, she has added enough hidden gems within it that it bears re-reading and will still feel fresh. There is ample humor, bravado, angst, and romance so that everyone has something to look forward to enjoying and revisiting.
There is little doubt that with this novel's climax, the rest of the series will be just as vibrant and wild!

Looking forward to the next installment.
I enjoyed seeing the herione of the tale develop her powers and grow as a person. She is still a child in many ways and has a ways to go but I'm intrigued as to how the rest of the story and her personality will continue to develop. I very much enjoyed the legends, history, and languages of the world Davies has crafted and hope to see more of that in the rest of the series. Eagerly anticipating the second book.

Absolutely loved this book! It has become one of my new favorites and I went ahead and preordered book 2! I'm excited to discover what happens next! The world building and character development were excellent. Didn't find any flat characters here. I appreciated that it wasn't full of cursing and vulgar scenes like so many books tend to do now. It was clean and just all around good fun! I foresee a great epic in the making and I couldn’t put the book down. I would definitely recommend it to any fantasy lover! Especially anyone who liked Lord of the Rings, Dragons of Pern, or Eragon, to name a few. I believe it would fit on your shelf nicely. I plan to reread it again before book 2 comes out and am looking forward to reliving the adventure!

I don't even know where to start with this one. This has all the elements of a perfect fantasy story. It will draw you in & you won't want to put it down. Extraordinary characters that will make you laugh & some will make you curse out loud. I loved the songs that the author included & the voices were great. I listened to the audiobook which I highly recommend. This story is full of magic, emotion, prophecy and curage. Pavula was a small elf girl who was raised by a wolf and could talk to dragons. Her wolf mother trained her to harness the spirits of all the elements knowing that someday Pavula would leave her to fulfill the prophecy. She was the child who would bring an end to the war with dragons & bring peace to Onis. From the day Pavula left her wolf mother she had no idea how her journey would turn out. She had to go to the mountains & talk to the Queen of the silvers but she wondered how she could do it alone. Along the way she gains some companions. She meets Darvan a human wizard and his Uncle Hort who is a dwarf. Also Horts wife who has magic of her own & is also a healer. Included is also a drow and a dragon. As Pavula and her friends work to complete her task they will face danger and suspicion but they all want to see Pavula succeed. This story will make you9 laugh and also mad at times. I absolutely can't wait for book 2.

Raised by Wolves, Child of Prophecy
Parents- PG13- good for middle school to adults
Language- PG- I don't remember any if there is it's minimal and no f-bombs
Violence- PG13- nothing too graphic
Sexual Content- PG13 mostly the kissing and teen romance variety with desires and being drawn to each other, but not a heavy part of the story
If I could have I would have given this one 4.5🌟. This is a unique coming of age fantasy about a elf child that is raised by wolves (adopted mother is a wolf goddess). She's 16 and is coming into her powers and learning so much about other cultures and healing the gaps between them... along with an interesting beginning of a love triangle (dare I say it is a bit similar to Twilight...). This one had it all, elves, dragons, orcs, drow, many other mythical animals and beasts. It really was a fun read and I can't wait to see where it goes.
Narrators both (4🌟) did a great job with the different voices, acting, evening singing! My only complaint is that the overall speed was slow, but it was fixed between 1.25-1.35x speed. I do tend to listen a bit faster, but my chosen speed on this one was 2x which for me is higher then normal.

Ok there are tropes. Prophesy. Elves, dwarves, dark elves, dragons. Girl raised by wolves (sort of). Overpowered but naive. But the writing was distinctly better than the previous book I read, details were sufficiently different, I kept reading, and everything was retroactively inevitable, as it should be. The change of perspective even 4 times in the same paragraph, as somehow not jarring. Hence the 4 stars even though I might not remember this much in a year.

Thoroughly enjoyable book. A little slow to get into but once the pace picked up, it was hard to put down. It ended on a well planned cliffhanger and the only downside that book two hasn't been published yet. I look forward to the next novel in this great trilogy. EK

📚Reign of the Ancients: Part 1: The Prophecy by R.E.Davies
✨My Rating:-9.9/10
📚My Review:- Looking for some gripping book series to read ? Tired reading the same romantic stories ? Hello dear readers, i'm back with an amazing book review penned down by the author R.E.Davies. This book is basically the first book in " The Onis Chronicles- A Fantasy Adventure " book series. It revolves around a young elf girl, who wants to know her real identity and the hidden secrets she is unaware of. She is believed to be one of the prophecy meant to join the land of Oris. Aeris was the monarch of the silver dragons, the eldest of them, and by far the strongest, with Turathyl as her successor should anything happen to her. Although anxious of her destiny, Turathyl would see to it for that day not to come for as long as possible. Aeris was an honourable leader, very esteemed among all the dragons, and it would be tragic if anything were to befall her, causing an unnatural demise. Unlike others, she is blessed with a magic which helped her discover a world at war ruled over by the dragons. It was slowly dying and she had to do something. What will she do ? Who was the girl and why was she different from others ? Turn the pages to know what happens next in the story. The author just tried to keep it simple as it could be which makes it a engaging read. Each piece leaves an impact on the readers heart as the author has shared the whole story beautifully. I've read many fantasy adventure books but this one is so good. The author is, within a doubt , a fantastic storyteller as everyone believes. Because of this one factor, I was able to glide through this 426 page book so fast. Even the cover of this book has been designed on such an interesting note, that it's easy to capture the reader's attention. It's a nicely layered book with a good narration throughout the book. The language is pretty simple and easy making it a comfortable read. Highly recommended to all the adventure and fantasy lovers.

Reign of the Ancients: Part 1: The Prophecy" follows a young elf on an epic adventure for peace and self-discovery, as she battles creatures, forges unbreakable connections, and confronts the ruling ancient dragons of Onis. It took a little while to get into, but once it did, it was difficult to put down. It came to a satisfying conclusion with a well-executed cliffhanger. The book deals with addressing one's anxieties and obstacles in achieving one's goals. The underlying concept of a society where misunderstanding leads to hate of others is ubiquitous. The author has added a map of her realm, music, and a language dictionary to her novel. The major characters are well-developed, yet there is enough mystery about them that the reader wants to learn more about them.
The author did a fantastic job of inventing a completely new universe, complete with history and likable people. They all have their distinct personalities and quirks, which may be amusing at times. The narrative is one-of-a-kind in and of itself. It tells the story of a 1000-year-old conflict and a prophecy that only one person can fulfil: the dragon's deadliest adversary, an Elf. I couldn't put it down since the author piques your interest on every page, leaving you wondering what will happen next and whether they will be able to survive it.
The author has crafted a story that is well worth reading, combining aspects of many great fantasy traditions. Furthermore, she has included enough hidden nuggets that it is worth re-reading and will still seem new. There's enough wit, boldness, angst, and romance to keep everyone entertained and wanting to come back for more. The author has a unique way of keeping you engaged in the tale and making you feel as if you're on a voyage across Onis! Great descriptions and sketches, in my perspective, add to the charm. I was left wanting more at the conclusion. I'm looking forward to the sequel! I'm delighted I opted to explore the Onis universe.

This is an unusual fantasy story for this genre in that the main character is a young girl who was raised feral and in secret by a wolven goddess, taught in the ancient arts of magic for the purpose of fulfilling a prophecy which will unite the races and end the long war. She is hidden from the outside world until she becomes of the age where her curiosity leads her into the hands of her kin. Here she finds out about the prophecy and decides to confront her destiny.
I liked that the story involves a wide variety of magic which she endeavors to master, along with getting to know her unuorthodox team of warriors.
The production of this audiobook was also well done. I appreciated the different character voices and sound effects which only enriched the story.
Overall, the book is very well written, great world building, kept my interest throughout and I wasn't expecting the twist at the end. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next in book 2, and if my suspicion's about a certain devious character are correct. Recommend.

Bad
-- Dialogue, especially at the start was simple and almost kringy. fortunately it became better as the book progressed.
-- The beginning was almost long standard gather group around the chosen one clichés
Good
-- The cosmology was very interesting and explained a lot about why certain events were the way they were.
-- Descriptions of items and places were very cool. In some cases I could see the place in my mind.
-- MAP. Seriously, these help!
-- Decently written action scenes.
-- Characters we end up caring about.
-- Dragons that felt like they belonged!
Now she does end the book on one BIG cliff hanger, but I am invested in the characters and I want to see how this is resolved!
Will I buy the next book? Yes!

Audiobook: This was my first experience with R. E. Davies' work, and I enjoyed it. The story featured a female elf child that was raised by wolves, could speak with dragons, and just might be the person that fulfills a prophecy of old. I appreciated the complex worldbuilding. I liked the characters and the friendships that were forged by the trials and tribulations that abounded throughout the tale. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Aaron Smith's narration was awesome, and his performance added to the story's entertainment. I appreciated the additional voice provided by R. E. Davies. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Coming of Age Fantasy
A fun and engaging quest/prophecy adventure story. There is plenty of action, drama, and a touch of romance, even a love triangle developing.
It was nice to see that even though the elf girl of the prophecy has an amazing amount of power and ability, she's not infallible. She still has to figure things out as she goes, and makes mistakes.
Excellent world building, and the way the magic works makes sense. All the characters are well-written and add to the entertainment and development of the story.
The author and Aaron Smith made the story come alive. I liked the bits of music and songs that are included in the audio version.

Be prepared! I really liked this story. The author keeps the interest all the time. The problem of finding the roots, of finding one's own path, is not easy. Establishing the connection with the spirits, of speaking to the powerful authorities, turns out to be even more difficult. It is a problem that everyone can relate to, there are authorities we dare not speak to.
I like that the story is not straightforward and the events seem to discourage the plot.
The narrator does a really good job of involving the listener with singing, rhythm and voice changes.

Good read
I would have said excellent read if not for the literal cliffhanger, I won't spoil this imaginative and otherwise entertaining book, and it's only my opinion. I like for a book to end on a high note, and I'm happy I found this series already finished, so I can go now to the next book.
It truly is an enthralling book with engaging characters, and an intriguing plot. Enjoy!

It's as if Avatar, the Last Airbender and the Lord of the Rings were combined into book.
It did take me a minute to get into because the first half of the book sets the stage of what the world is like for the 2 main characters. Once the main characters actually meet, it then gets very interesting. A lot of magic, politics and wars between species, and ,of course, DRAGONS!!!!!
The only reason why I didn't give this book 5 stars was the slow start, but once the 2 characters meet it becomes a whole different ball game. I would definitely recommend this for anyone!

The Prophecy is a story of magic, dragons, and epic self-discovery! With a wolf-raised elf destined to unite a fractured world, this adventure kept me hooked with its vivid world-building and heart-stirring moments. R.E. Davies' storytelling paired with Aaron Smith's enchanting narration is a perfect match for fantasy lovers craving action, camaraderie, and a touch of destiny.

This book is a great start to the new series. I love the dragons and how they are portrayed. Laila is a wonderful heroine and I like how the remainder of the group are flawed. I am looking forward to the next book.

A page turner
I gave this book 5 stars because it fills a voi CTd in rare action saga's that actually tell tale of a quest that has not really been done since Dennis McKeirnan did the Iron Tower Trilogy.

Nothing out of the ordinary for a fantasy book -Elves, Dragons, Dwarfs etc, but it's well written and an interesting story, with several themes worked in - coming of age, romantic conflict, magical combat etc.
1 star deducted as it took a bit to get going, but good enough for me to read book 2.
