I received a free copy of Sm{B}itten (a BBW/vampire romance) (Night Fall Book 1) in return for an impartial review, so thanks!

I am a huge fantasy fan, and I love vampire stories of any kind and enjoyed reading Ms. Devlin’s take on them. I liked the characters in this story – Emmy, Dylan and of course Quentin, whose story I cannot wait to read.

I have to say that I don’t think there is a genre that Ms. Devlin hasn’t written. Sm{B}itten is of course about vampires and how they interact with humans, with quite deadly results and how one female draws two vampires to her who have different reasons for wanting her.
I liked Emmy Harris – she had some issues with her body and she talked – a lot - and she didn’t shut up and she is also quite sexually inexperienced.

When she meets the vampires Dylan and Nicky, they both want her, but for very different reasons. Dylan prevails and I loved how he wondered what he had got himself into with Emmy, his little human. How is she going to cope with the knowledge that he is a vampire? How is she going to cope with a girlfriend, Monica, who betrays her to Nicky and the consequences of that betrayal?

With all that goes on and that happens to her in the space of a few nights, Emmy seems to cope quite well. She is attracted to Dylan and he is attracted to her. There was a time in the story, though, when I really didn’t like what Emmy had become – she seemed to be really harsh and just not her usual self and I am not sure if it was the change or the bloodlust she felt, but that was off to me and it certainly didn’t jibe with the scatterbrained but likeable talker that she had been – perhaps it was used to show how she was affected by the change, but whatever it was I still didn’t like her right then. So what is going to happen to Nicky and what happens to the friend who betrayed Emmy?

I liked reading about Dylan – he was scared of losing Emmy to Nicky and also vulnerable because he cared for Emmy and because he had issues that connected with him losing his wife hundreds of years before.

It must be quite a lonely existence to live for such a long time and to not be able to form real attachments with anyone other than a fellow vamp because humans don’t live as long and they die. The sex between Dylan and Emmy is hot and sizzling once they get started and it does take both of them a while to even get to the ‘love’stage because though their bodies communicate well, these two haven’t really spent that much time actually talking!

This is a great start to the series and I look forward to reading more about the vamps in this world that Delilah Devlin has created!

BBW, Vampires - this book is so hot it might set you on fire!

I loved this story, the first in Delilah’s Night Fall series. I want to warn you up front, there is a cliffhanger of sorts but there is also a HFN (happy for now). The ending left me wanting to read more but not so much feeling devastated because I have to wait to read more.

The blurb for the book gives you the background for the story so I won’t retell it here. Just know that if you love vampires and erotic romance you have to get this book! The heat between Dylan and Emmie is off the charts. There is also suspense and intrigue which kept me thoroughly captivated by this book.

Dylan’s friend Quentin is an interesting secondary character and I can’t wait to read his story.

This book is Delilah Devlin’s captivating storytelling at her finest.

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review but I loved it so much that I also bought a copy.

Okay concept. Too much awkward chit-chat during sex. No transitions between most scenes and read as if large portions of the story were savagely sawed off to make novella word count. Minimal chemistry with the couple. In essence, poorly written (and edited) porn.

This was the second book I have read by Ms. Devlin. I loved it even more than the other book I read of hers. I have added the rest of this series 'My Immortal Knights' to my to-be-read book list and once I catch up on the series I will patiently (okay impatiently await for my next fix). I was captivated from the beginning and laughed numerous times while reading. I picked this book up while it was on the amazon free list, (a hell of a bargain for me!) and ended up highlighting several lines on my kindle. Some of them for things I must try to see if I can get away with at some point in my life and others because I couldn't stop laughing at the line. For example:

"[He ripped the zipper down the rest of the way, then doubled over in pain. Air left his lungs in a single strangled gust.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Emmy's hand patted his head. "What can I do? Can I help?"
Still clutching his groin, he raised his head and stared at her.
Her eyes were wide with concern. "Your face is bright red. Are you all right? Can you breathe? I know the Heimlich."
"What the fuck?" He shook his head in confusion. "Just sit!"
When she sank onto the edge of the leather sofa, Dylan felt it safe enough to turn his back. He reached for the edge of his desk to steady himself. Gradually, the pain ebbed, and he straightened.
Nervous laughter bubble. "Ohh! I meant CPR, not the Heimlich. No wonder you looked at me like I'd grown two heads."]"

That is just the tip of the ice burg for the hilarious scenes that take place between the hero and heroine. I really enjoyed the dynamics of their meeting and the developing of their relationship. I completely loved Emmy and wish she was real because I would look her up and make her be my friend! I loved that the sex scenes were just like their character were; fun, random and a complete pleasure.

The novel starts off with Emmy going to a club with her girl friend, becoming set up with a bad guy, almost gets killed by bad guy. Emmy ends up picking Dylan out and tries to use him to get away from bad guy, not realizing that the two men actually know each other. Dylan and Emmy end up connecting immediately and they end up starting a bond. Emmy doesn't quite grasp how much her life is actually in danger and tries to be independent until she realizes that nope, her girl friend is now a vampire and is working for the bad guy. Lots of funny yet serious, tantalizing shenanigans ensue as Dylan tries to keep Emmy out of harms way while they further their relationship (to include he tells her he is a vampire as well) and eventually falling in love.

This was a wonderfully quick, but well paced roller coaster ride of a girl meeting and falling in love with a vampire.

I wanted to like this. There were such promising elements but it just didn't work, and I'm bummed.

Emmy goes out on Halloween and finds herself in mortal danger in a vampire bar, Dylan comes to her rescue.

Dylan is yummy sexy and I would have liked more of him but Emmy was just TSTL. I didn't hate her but she was so silly I couldn't like her.
I know the author was going for funny with her but it fell flat.

There is lots of sex and it could have been so good but it was ruined by Emmy's ridiculous chatter. And the pillow talk and euphemisms during sex just ruined what could have been some pretty hot love scenes. I mean, Dylan even tells Emmy to stop talking.
I just didn't see anything in her to make Dylan fall in love with her.

So 2 stars and I sadly can't recommend.

Read the other day after I got it free and forgot to review.
I did not finish. What I read made me think the chick in this was mentally about 15/16. Creepy much??!!!
The author also tried hard to use every word for the female anatomy that she could think of.
Obviously it just wasn't my cuppa...

DNF: if I could have given this negative stars, I would have. God I wanted to kill her within seconds. There's innocent when it comes to sex, and then there's this crazy weirdo who doesn't seem to know literally anything. SO not worth spending time on.

I have some very mixed feelings about this story. Whilst reading it, I kind of couldn’t put it down. But I also felt weirdly uncomfortable reading it. I’m not entirely certain why. But there was definitely discomfort. It may have a lot to do with the fact that this was an eBook though. I just can’t seem to get into eBooks as much as physical books…

The storyline in this book is fairly so so. Its not one of those impossible to put down, impossible to forget stories. Not fast-paced or full of action. But it is full of lust. It is a wonderful story, completely filled with the joys of lust and I certainly enjoyed it. The graphic nature of the writing made the lust and the passion just jump off of the pages. Certainly not a story that you want to read in front of your family and friends… it’s a little too private for that.

One of my favourite things about this book is that Emmy is curvy. She doesn’t look anything like a model, and, in fact, finds it quite hard to believe that she could even be beautiful. She is, of course, frequently described as sexy and beautiful by her paramour and others, but I like that she’s not considered to be modelesque. Definitely a great take on a romance lead.

Trying to write this review is kind of difficult. It was a really fun read, and I have already bought the next book in the series, and have it sitting on my kobo ready to go. But it wasn’t one of my all-time favourite books. It was an easy read that I thoroughly enjoyed and would probably read again. But mostly because the ease of it means that it’s quite easy to forget what happened, so it would be like reading it all over again.

Graphic steamy sex carries this story of an innocent and a Master Vampire looking for a one off. Emmy's cluelessness is both refreshing and hilarious. Dylan can't help bit fall for her. I can't wait to read the next installment. I want Quentin to get an HEA and Nicky to get his comeuppance.

Emmy and Dylan

It was a bad idea to go it with her best friend but it landed her an insatiable lover and a new future. Very entertaining read!

This first book of the series introduces us to Navarro, Quentin, Nicky, Emmy and Dylan. The plot of this book is set at the beginning if Emmy and Dylan’s battle for love and freedom. The intimate series are quite graphic and abundant, you have been warned.

A bit of a disappointing read. I hadn't expected stunning literature, but I had thought it would be fairly decent given that I've read other works by Ms. Devlin and have greatly enjoyed them. Silent Knight, which is a least loosely related to this series I believe, is one of my favorite shorts, and I'd hoped this would be much like it. Instead I found myself shaking my head and rolling my eyes a lot at the often stilted dialog, and situations that resolve themselves far too easily, usually by the main characters getting turned on and having sex yet again.

Emmy is rather an annoying character. She runs off at the mouth a bit too much, and tends to babble nonsense most of the time. I get that it's supposed to be part of her character, but the problem to me is that there just isn't much depth to her character. We never really get to know her beyond the fact that she's a chatterbox, has self-image problems because she's got a little bit of padding on her and isn't stick thin, and it doesn't take much for her to get turned on and ready to go at it with Dylan. Repeatedly.

We do get a little bit of insight into Dylan's character, but again not a lot. We learn that he has a conscience, and though he can't help himself where Emmy's concerned it seems, still he is afraid of hurting her. Mostly though we are given just enough about him to make us curious to know more beyond the typical alpha-male posturing he does.

The story does improve toward the end, though it also ends with some major unresolved issues. There is hope that the narrative will get richer in later books in the series, and perhaps we will get to know more about the characters involved. The 3 star rating is, perhaps, a bit generous, but, well, the sex is pretty good, if a teensy bit repetitive at times, and the characters are essentially likeable if not well developed. Not sure if I'd recommend it too much, but you could certainly do worse than this one.

I read another Delilah Devlin book (my first ever) last week and absolutely adored it. So I thought I was pretty lucky to find this one sitting on my kindle. It was a freebie and let me tell you, I never would've picked it up if I'd seen the original cover. Holy ugliness Batman, that first cover was horrid.

Anyway, from an entirely marketing point of view, I think having this book as a freebie isn't the right thing for Delilah Devlin. It is nowhere near the greatness of the other one I read and in saying that, if i read this first, I probably wouldn't have tried another one of her stories unless it came highly recommended.

Thankfully that wasn't the order I read her in - so if you read this and didn't like it PLEASE do NOT think that Delilah Devlin isn't the author for you.

Anyway, this story was hot. It was erotic, explicit and didn't hold anything back. The story was actually very well written too, in a smooth and barely any mistakes kind of way. I can also let slide the "I just met you but I already love you" storyline. It's erotic romance, it isn't meant to be overly realistic...so what didn't I like?

The heroine.

I was trying to get into the groove, getting all hot and sweaty over the bumping uglies scenes and the heroine wouldn't shut the f*ck up. I kept reading, internally chanting to the male protagonist - "Just shove your d*ck down her throat to keep her quiet."
And it wasn't witty dialogue either. She was annoying as hell and I seriously wanted to cut her...but ok, that is who she is. In the words of Lady Gaga "Baby, I was born this way." She can't help being a douche.

Then the hero starts talkin' smack and I'm like "You guys really need to 69 this shit because I don't want to hear you talk."

Anyway, this story, apart from some annoying dialogue during the XXX scenes was really enjoyable.
I DO NOT think it is a great indication of how well Delilah Devlin writes but as a free book it was pretty darn awesome.

First book of Ms. Devlin's My Immortal Knight series...interesting. Ms. Devlin had opted for an imperfect heroine to a perfect vampire-hero--that's really cool. And the H/H's personalities contradicts each other that I had almost not seen the connection the two lust-driven protagonist could have...but they did!

Storyline: Emmaline Harris meets the perfect man at a Halloween party. After he rescues her from the unwanted attentions of another partygoer, she succumbs to his kisses and spends an evening engaged in wicked-sexy lovemaking. Sure she's just a one-night stand, she tries to exit gracefully, but soon find she needs Dylan's special skills when her world is turned upside down by a blood-drinking killer and his gang who target her for their next meal. Dylan O'Hara only wants a night of passion to slake his sexual needs, but finds Emmy is a full-bodied, red-blooded siren whose innocence and humor draws this Master vampire like a moth to a red-hot flame. When Emmy attracts the attention of a serial-killing vampire, Dylan vows to protect her, but he fears he'll lose Emmy once she discovers her "Dracula" has real fangs!

I would really miss this serial-killing vampire coz I KNOW he will meet a devastating end due to all the crimes he had done. Ms. Devlin's erotic compositions are super hot! I mean...damn!

I actually liked this book. It was my first Delilah Devlin book so I had no expectations apart from steamy sex, since it´s a EC book. I usually don´t like "funny" books so I was pleasantly surprised.

Emma is conned by her so called best friend to attend a Halloween Party at a club. When Emma gets there she is the only one in costume. Emma get´s caught by a bad guy and get´s rescued by the good guy. And, boy, is he yummy.

The story is simple and light hearted. Emma is full of questions and tend to asks them at the wrong times but Ms Devlin makes it work.
The sex is steamy and hot. I really love the idea that what makes the hero notice Emma from the start is that she is womanly rounded, with big breasts, stomach and a "big ass to cushion you" as the hero says.

I´m going to read no 2 in the series as soon as I find it!

I really enjoyed reading Sm{B}itten. It was a great story, I loved the characters and would definitely recommend this book.

Emmy Harris is not the type of girls men normally hit on. She knows she is not skinny and has some extra padding around the edges and she is good with that.

Dylan O'Hara is a century old Vampire he knows he needs to feed but he is bored with the blood whores he is surrounded by.

When Emmy walks into The Cavern she notices the eyes instantly upon her and soon her best friend leads her into a situation she is not comfortable with. It isn’t long before Dylan takes notice and not only because he want to rescue Emmy from the lurking danger but also because she calls to something within him. Can Dylan save Emmy from what is coming? Dylan will need to convince Emmy to trust him but how will Emmy react when she finds out what they are?

3 1/2 rounded up to 4 stars due to the sheer comedic value of the dialogue between Emma, our Rubanesque heroine, and Dylan, our Alpha-male vampire with the patience of Job.

The story starts with a Halloween party, so it fits with my October reading theme. Emma is a great character: she tends to exhibit what I call the gumball-machine syndrome - that is, anything idea she tends to think pops straight out of her mouth without mental editing. Thus, she tends to say a lot of things that end up funny but lighthearted. Dylan is the typical vampire male - arrogant, masterful, alpha, yet sweet to his woman Emma.

I enjoyed this enough that I am very much looking forward to the rest of the series.

I really do not know how to tag this novelette (100 pages ca). Usually, EC imprints are really out of my comfort zone, not because they are kinky or too explicit. Simply because, with some exception, they are worthless and boring porn. This book was saved by its sheer absurdity that made it "funny". And If you are laughing this hard, you can't really consider it that bad. :) Mind you, it's still porn (no story to talk of), but at least it wasn't boring. :)

This is an Ellora's Cave book so it is definitely on the erotica side.

Emma Harris innocently goes to a vampire club to be with her friend Monica. Only Monica pawns her off on a bad vampire named Nicky. Lucky for Emma that Dylan O'Hara comes to her rescue. It is the first in a series titled My Immortal Knight and the story is continued in the next book. I enjoyed the story line but it is more erotica than I enjoy. This was a free book.

This contains a whole lot of sex scenes for a short read. Although I enjoy the charcters' banters, I fully wish that wouldn't have sex at all chapters. Since Emmy is a human, how she can have a stamina like Dylan have? There should be a whole lot cause why Nicky done what he have to Dylan in the first place. Anyway, this story could have been better if it includes a whole lot of action and more plot. It is still an okay ine sitting read.

Read like a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode. Seriously, with the full on description of the vampires being exactly how they are in Buffy, nobby headbones and all.

Waaaaay too much annoying chit chat.

Really didn't have any chemistry between the main couple.

The plot was quite weak.

Did feel like there was stuff missing. Not overly impressed. This was my first foray with the author. Hope her other stuff is better, if I bother with it at all.
