It was a pre-planned mystery. Something very unique to me. My favourite character was Chuckles. now, who is chuckles the hero? no, he is an evil villain who took over a place. chuckles had planned and evil plot to rob peoples house. it was an amazing plan. I wish i was as smart as him but not doing bad stuff of course. But unfortunately, Geronimo stilton saves the day with Hercule Poirat( i know its Poirot because my sister and father are huge Agatha Christie fans. but in the mouse world its poirat) The Halloween party wasn't that great as chuckles got away stealing some petty things. But it was very funny.
Okay, did they even resolve the real problem in the story? There's a thief who steals stuff from everyone's house and almost everyone is locked in an amusement park while the bad guy robs their homes. So the solution? Um...there wasn't one. But the bad guy flew away, they were able to get the code to unlock the park, and then the MC ends up making his own Halloween party the next day.
....well, guess he wasn't totally robbed. Guess no one cares about being robbed...at least they're free. Let's not really mention anything about getting our stuff back or even that there was this horrible thief in town. How did these books get published???????????
Okay, so I see they are a bit "addicting"...even though people lack morals and stories lack solutions.
this book is so so so very riveting and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I highly recommend reading this book regardless of your age. you will be transported into a different world with Geronimo Stilton and will assist him in his quest to find the pumpkin thief. i wish i could meet Mr Stilton. I think so very highly of him. when i think of him i get butterflies in my tummy. He is my inspiration and i hope to one day be as clever and smart as him. i love this book because it helps me connect with my favorite mouse and i feel like I’m with him. ❤️ read this book and you’ll be in for a treat. 😄😄🤯🔥🐭🐭
Geronimo Stilton took Benjamin to Tricks for Tails the most popular party store in New Mouse City. It has lots of decorations, weird gadget, and party pranks, they were all so spooky, they couldn't decide. So they decided to think it over and come back in a few days. The next day they went back to tricks for tails But when they got there, there was nothing left: no tricks, no decorations, no costumes. But everything was robbed! Another great Mystery!!
Geronimo Stilton, an adult mouse of undetermined mouse-years, and his nine-year-old nephew Benjamin are anticipating a joyous Halloween celebration. They visit a themed Halloween store to buy amusing items for the party. Geronimo returns to the store the following day, wanting to surprise Benjamin with additional amusements, and finds the store empty, the victim of a mysterious thief. Stilton receives mysterious communications from a stranger, inviting him to a Halloween party. The entire town population of Mouse City is lured to the mysterious attraction. When all of the unsuspecting towns-mice are entrapped at Mystery Park, Stilton and Hercule Poirat (Agatha Cristie reference) figure out the evildoers’ grand plan.
This 2003 trade paperback features a mixture of large and colorful fonts, emphasizing key words, phrases, or other story points. Numerous small illustrations support the text, and there are several full-page drawings. These drawings provide details related to the story line, such as the layout of the villains’ mysterious tower. Following the conclusion of the story, two sections describe Halloween décor ideas, and illustrate other Stilton titles.
Suggested for grade 2, or age 7 and higher, this series invites detailed exploration of the rich illustrations that support the story. Readers at this age may find the extension possibilities very engaging, tracking story action on the Mouseville map, or lingering over the details of the mysterious villains’ tower. This reviewer did not detect substantially controversial or questionable content. There are numerous vocabulary extensions possible, as key words appear in alternative fonts and colors. Invented words, such as ‘fabumouse’ invite opportunities for students to begin thinking about root words, and deciphering made-up words through an apparent root and the context in which the word is used.
This story resembles How The Grinch Stole Christmas, lending itself to comparative study. Additional cultural references may include comparisons to dia de los muertos. Similar texts for students who enjoy this series might include Nate the Great (ISBN 10: 044046126X) or the Cam Jansen series. The story is primarily void of specific cultural references, set within the generic concept of Halloween that many middle class Americans hold.
This is my first read of a Geronimo Stilton book. It was recommended by our local Seattle Mystery Bookshop. I'm a mystery lover, and I wanted to introduce my five-year-old to something basic and fun.
Boy, does this fit the bill! Colorful illustrations, fun and complex language, and great storytelling kept us turning the pages. We had to work hard to restrain ourselves and not stay up all night to read it all the way through. We wanted to know -- Where did everything keep disappearing to? Who was responsible for the strange tower, and the strange invitations?
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a fun, youthful mystery. It has been particularly great for us as we transition into chapter books. (The chapters have titles and "icons" but not numbers, which has been a little confusing to my son, but also a good lesson in how chapters work.) We will be going on to more Geronimo Stilton books. We are told, and it seems clear from this example, that they do not need to be read in any order.
The book I am reading is called The Peculiar Pumpkin Thief by Geronimo Stilton. This is the last book in the series until new ones come out and quite frankly I don't think its good enough. I usually enjoy these books more but I guess I just thought it was well…. BORING I mean he kind of a baby but we all know how this ends …. he saves the day and everything works out fine. I liked the other books more than I liked this one. I like his sisters books better because with his sisters you don't know who you will meet but with Geronimo he is either with his family by himself or with his friends.
Geronimo is a very caring person but he cries a lot especially when he's in danger. Yet sometimes he can be very brave and smart. Sometimes I wonder who the real author looks like instead of being pictured by mouses. But something what about the story was. Everything else is related to the real world and I thought that was pretty cool.
This installment in the Geronimo Stilton fiction series was a lot of fun to read. The chapters are short and descriptive, interesting words are highlighted in different colors and type styles. The illustrations added to the story. The story revolves around the mystery of who stole all the Halloween decorations days before Halloween, and who invited everyone in New Mouse City to the new Mouse Mystery Park for a Halloween celebration. In the back of the book are ideas for a Halloween party (decorations, recipes and crafts) There is also a short teaser for the next book, as well as a list of all the previous books, making it easier to read them in order. At the very end of the book are maps of New Mouse City and Mouse Island.
I would recommend this to boys or girls in second grade and up looking for a fun beginning chapter book.
Geronimo Stilton and the Peculiar Pumpkin Thief is so good that when you read it, you'll want to get the whole entire series! The author is Geronimo Stilton. In this story Geronimo wants to give Benjamin the best Halloween part ever! But all the pumpkins are stolen and Geronimo gets a letter from his friend Hercules that says, "Can you help me find the pumpkins?" Read the book to see what happens! My favorite part is when Trap shoots water onto the squirt ring because it was so funny! I would give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Get this book right now! If you do then you're going to want to get the entire series!
1)I really like the book because it is very funny and it have a lot of action. In page 15 Geronimo friend Hercule trick him to knock on his door then green slime fell on him.On page 74 Chuckles the clown was doing a lot of funny thing for example he smacked his nose on the floor.2)If you like a very funny book this book is for you because their is a lot of funny things.3)There was no challenge in the book.4)The character in my story is Geronimo Stilton, he is a very good person because he cares about his family.
Good read. Geronimo is going to have a party for his favorite nephew for Halloween, but there is a problem....all the costumes, decorations, etc have been stolen. Then the whole city was invited to a party. Everything goes down hill from there.
all the pumpkins are lost in mouse city and all the stores have been robbed. geronimo gets an invitation to a pumpkin festival. the figure out a clown, who was hosting the festival, was the thief and he did it because he wanted to be famous.
My six year old enjoyed this Geronimo Stilton, and I've given it an extra star for the easy Halloween craft ideas at the back. He's already tried some of them out, and the decorated straws and halloween versions of paper dolls have been a big hit.
This book is about a clown named Chuckles that stole all the pumpkins in New Mouse City, on Mouse Island. Geronimo's friend, Hercule, helps him find the pumpkins and the thief. I would recommend this book to newspaper writers and detectives.
These books always make me laugh and keep me entertained, whether I am in third grade or an adult. The illustrations are part of that reason. This book’s illustrations are entertaining to look at because they are so colorful, and they give clues to help the audience solve the mystery. The word choice is not for beginning readers, but good for students around second grade. The words in this book are different from typical text. Sometimes they are colorful, different sizes, and even different fonts. The varying words will help keep children’s attention. I knew it worked for me when I was younger. These books kept me up late at night because they were so entertaining. I would use this book in my class as personal reading material because students would not get the full effect if it were a read aloud. Overall, I loved this book and it makes me want to read all the books in this series.
It such a fun read, I had my little cousin read to me. With the colours and the different fonts it easy and fun for kids to read along. This is about a halloween mystery where all the costume, decorations and pumpkins are stolen from the entire city. The next day a mysterious note appears on every mouses door inviting them to attend the mystery halloween party. Little do they know that this is a set up to lock all citizens in the park and ransack their houses and stores. Its up to Geronimo and his friend Dectective Poirat to solve the mystery and find out who is behind this debacle.
This book is about Geronimo and his friend Hercule poirate ( who is a detective ) went to fight a crime that is planning to steal all money from the mouse island. This book is really interesting and it brings my excitement and tense too. This book also brings me into it. It's like working with them to solve and arrest the crime together. I highly recommend this book to anyone (even the adults) to read this book.
A Halloween story that is the perfect amount of spooky for JUVs. I wish there was some more resolution in the end as it seemed the main issue was just dropped, but I hardly think JUVs would notice that.
