There was definitely a clear-cut definition of a Villain's Obsession if there ever was one - to the extent, that it was almost unforgivable! I'm sure there's an audience that enjoys dark mafia romances, where the MMC goes to such extreme measures to keep the FMC with him, but this was borderline repulsive - blackmail and extortion - I don't care if they had a romantic fling before in their youth. I would never give anyone the time of the day if they had to bribe and manipulate and sexually abuse you, even if you're acting like you're enjoying it! *sigh* But, my not enjoying this is entirely on me. Every once in awhile, I do try to give these books a chance to see if they can grow on me or if there's something about them that can appeal to me, but I just couldn't. 😞 If anything, the mafia storyline was a lot more appealing than the romance, which, honestly, just made me cringe.
When she was 18 years old, rising star of the theatre, Lorelai Novak started a romantic relationship with her life-long crush, Zakh Volkova, a higher-ranking member of the Brotherhood of the Knights, belonging to the Bratva family. But, a disastrous event takes place causing him to flee and going into hiding, leaving Lorelai at the mercy of her father, who plans to wed her off into another Mafia family in order to claim their rankings in the business, while also having to deal with her own personal issues, as well. It only gets worse when Zach resurfaces into her life - and he will stop at nothing - call it jealousy, call it possessiveness , call it obsession - to make her his - always and forever. 🙄🙄

Yeah, it had it's moments, I'll give it that. The sex was very kinky and hot - and when they got down and dirty, it did make me want to fan myself, even if I was still a little repulsed by the extortion Zakh was inflicting on Lorelai. But, this is a 'dark second chance romance' so I guess, I'll just have to roll with it. I liked Lorelai - even if she was at his whims, I admired how hard she was trying to make right of what was done - that she wasn't afraid to back down - even going against her family and standing up to not only her father, but that horrible fiancé of hers 😡😡😡 and especially Zach, despite how much she felt that she still loved him.

I can't say I liked Zach as a character - even if his goal in his unfortunate life was to embody the Phantom from Phantom of the Opera in their relationship, as he spent some of his time, justifying his treatment of Lorelai, it just made me roll my eyes, cuz I just wasn't buying it. I did enjoy the mafia storyline - even if it went a tad bit longer then I thought it would. There was such a volatile set of emotions centered around his storyline that had my head reeling with how much of a chaotic mess this family was, but I managed to make my way through. Plenty of intrigue, betrayal and drama for the readers who enjoy these type of stories - sadly, this definitely wasn't one for me. 🤷🤷

This was not what I expected from the blurb. I did really enjoy it though. Faith Summers is a reliably good author. She has way more hits than misses for me thankfully. There have only been a couple of hers that fell short.
H is the brothers best friend but that doesn’t really have a big role here. From the time h was 18 and H was 26 they’ve had a secret relationship. Initially they hid it because she fell into a lower class than he did. Then when her family was promoted he held back for her safety. He ends up pushing her away to save her which ended up being a mistake.
He ends up framed for murder and in hiding and she’s stuck engaged to a douchey jerk. He comes back a couple months before she’s to wed to clear his name and save her from the douche. When she’s hesitant to stir things back up and is avoiding him he blackmails her into being with him.
Her fiancée cheats on her somewhat discreetly at first and then openly when he’s accidentally caught. He’s a real piece of work. They are never intimate thankfully but he does threaten her and nearly kill her when he suspects she’s also cheating. Lovely, huh?
I like H’s ruthless determination to keep h but hated that she got so emotionally banged up I. The crossfire. He wasn’t near remorseful enough about that.

She suffers a miscarriage at 4 Months during their separation. He didn’t know about the pregnancy until he comes back. She didn’t know she was pregnant before he left.
Upon his return he’s desperate to keep h while he’s blackmailing her he also tampers with her birth control resulting in a new pregnancy.
All the other stuff eventually gets resolved.

Faith Summers is one of my top favorite mafia authors, I always get excited when she has a new book to review & I know for sure I won’t be disappointed in it- or bored!
Zakh & Lorelai have loved each other for years, but have kept their relationship a secret f/everyone. After being framed for murder, Zakh knows he needs to prove his innocence & also needs to protect Lorelai, in doing so he leaves town. Now a year later he’s back, but she’s suppose to marry someone else & Zakh still isn’t any closer to finding out who framed him.
This was another excellent story, Faith always delivers amazingly well written characters & a story that is very well detailed & has depth, & she never fails on the spice & action. This one had all that plus betrayal & an incredible guy who would burn the world down for his girl.
I’m so excited for Malik’s story & am looking forward to seeing Leo’s too!

Villain's Obsession by Faith Summers is book Two in the Savage Legacy Series. This is the story of Zahk and Lorelai. Lorelai and Zahk had a secret relationship but he pushed her away. Zahk did so because he was being falsely accused of murder so he had to go on the run. But he then he came back to clean his name and to get back Lorelai. This starts their story.

Faith Summers has written a 5-star book. This is the story of Lorelai and Zakh. Lorelai and Zakh have been together for a while and she thinks things will change when she turns eighteen. Things change but not the way she thinks. Her father arranges for her to marry someone else. That someone is Dmitri and Lorelai is not happy with this. She doesn't like Dmitri and knows he is not a good man. When she tells her father about how she feels she is told to just deal with it, this is for the better of the business and family. Zakh has told Lorelai that they have to break up. She thinks that he has just used her and now he doesn't want to fight for her. She tries to stay away from him but he does something that makes that impossible for her to do. Someone is out to get Zakh and they do that when his Uncle was killed and Zakh is blamed for it. Zakh has trouble finding the person that is after him.
Can Zakh find out who is after him?
Will Zakh and Lorelai get back together for good?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story from start to finish its Forbidden romance, murder, revenge, secrets, lies, angst, steamy scenes, family turmoil, danger, suspense, twists that have you turning the pages.
Zakh Volkova one of the most powerful men in Boston his world contoled by secret society & Bratva
he's Lorelai's brothers BF & totally off limit's to her
but they cross that line & see each other in secret.
Zakh is framed for murder goes on the run thinking its the best idea to leave Lorelai the only way he can protect her raking both their hearts.
I definitely recomnend to get this amazing story to see the lengths Zakh will go to when he sees he's about to lose Lorelai to another its been a year, will they get their HEA, will he get he get his revenge on the one who framed him you must get book to see how everything turns out you so won't be disappointed.

Oh my god!!! This book!!! I love Zakh and Lorelai, the pain , anguish the love that they have for each other and the fight both of them put up,! You know it's just pure love when you read it. This book has all the making of a perfect mafia setting and love all the twists and turns thrown in. And the 🔥🔥🔥 oo man so so worth it... Loved it !!

Villain's Obsession is book two in the Savage Legacy series. It's dark mafia forbidden romance. A beautifully written story with extraordinary characters and storyline fueled by revenge. The story captures your attention from moment you start and keep hooked on the edge of your seat until the end. It's a standalone full-length novel with no cheating or cliffhanger and complete with a satisfying happily-ever-after. This one is about Zakh Volkova and Lorelai Novak. They have been friends since they were little since he was her brother's best friend. They had been together since she was sixteen. When her father took a higher position in Bratva she thought that Zakh would finally claim her as his future wife. Instead, he was accused of murder and fled town. Lorelai's father was going
to marry her off to a horrible person. She felt like her life was over. But thankfully, her perfect villain came back and he wasn't about to lose her for a second time.
Such a great book!!! It is the perfect mix of mafia suspense and steamy kinky sex. The plot is captivating with the murder mystery and the forbidden romance. The storyline has a steady progression and good world-building. The descriptions of the important scenes
are phenomenal, you can easily imagine them. The characters are amazing as well. Zakh is the dark and dangerous mafia-obsessed guy who would burn the world for his woman. Lorelai is a sweet girl who is a loyal friend and partner. Her heart was made of gold.
My favorite parts were the love scene and the tragic event.

This book was fantastic. I absolutely love this world that Faith has created, it feels pretty unique to a general mafia world. Just a little more intricate with the little details about the Vikings and things like that. These stories are always suspenseful and action packed with a side of mystery and it comes together so perfectly.
I really loved these two, especially together. It's quite the take on a forbidden love given Zakh is on the run from his own mafia for allegedly killing his uncle. He disappears for a while but shows back up into Lorelai's life right before she is to be married to someone he'd rather unalive himself than see her with. Because of the circumstances and their past, it's a good ole fashioned enemies-to-lovers and the heat that causes is nice and spicy.
The clîmåx rocked me as we find out who set him up, but also how everything goes down. The beginning was a little slower, but I devoured the last part whole, I couldn't wait to see how it ended. The epilogue was so sweet too! And we get to see a tiny sneak at what Malik's story will look like, which I am so excited for.

Typically, Faith Summer's dark mafia romances include some captive bride/forced or arranged marriage plotline so I really enjoyed this break from her normal fare (not that I don't love her normal stuff, which I definitely do). I simply enjoy when a writer shows their dynamic abilities in storytelling and plotline! This book is on longer side and is definitely more of a slow burn, but as a standalone you are not stuck with a cliffhanger- it is interconnected with other books in the series but not having had the chance to read them I did not feel I missed much other than some details in the prior storylines. Zakh and Loralei were a great couple to read and while this was a darker romance, it was not as dark of most of her stuff which was honestly a nice change as well. Zakh was an anti-hero for sure, but from the get go there was love between the couple. The overall book had great action, suspense and lots of spice to keep the reader engaged. I'll definitely be checking out the rest of the series!.

Wow oh wow. This was an unexpected book that I absolutely enjoyed reading. Zahk is a wanted man in hiding for a murder he didn't commit. But he still comes back to witness the woman he loves (his best friend's sister who he had been in a secret relationship with until he pushed her away for her safety) on her debut night as a theatrical actress. I absolutely loved Zahk and all his alpha attitude. He chose to stay and fight for his innocence. He chose Lorelai. I absolutely adore that, even if he had to go to extremes to prove it to her. Lorelai? I have mixed feelings about her. I liked her and felt so much pain and heartache for her. But I also just wanted her to put up a fight. I know she couldn't without consequences but I still wanted her to fight. There is so much in this book that it will keep you coming back wanting more and more. Again, I absolutely loved it.

Definitely a novel that draws you in to keep you captivated & keeps you guessing on who the traitors are as they blend in with the most powerful men in the secret society. Zakh & Lorelai have a long loving secret relationship. People in Zakh's circle are dead & he breaks up with Lorelai to keep her alive. He's being framed so he needs to clear his name. As the story continues, there are even more secrets & mysteries that need to be revealed. The plot really thickens, with more twists in this story. Faith Summers is amazing in being so descriptive in her story-telling, I had mixed emotions on Zakh & Lorelai's choices in recapturing their love so they both stay alive long enough in trying to reach a HEA. It's a lengthy story but worth reading to appreciate the Russian mafia groups.

This is Zakh and Lorelai's story. Book 2 starts where book one ends. Zahk is best friends with Lorelai's brother. They have been secretly seeing each other for quite a while. When Lorelai's father gets promoted, she is sure that Zahk with ask for her hand, though he doesn't. All of a sudden, he breaks things off with her and things go from bad to worse. She is betrothed to a playboy from a good family who has no real interest in her and sleeps with someone else the night of their engagement party. Zahk has to go into hiding to save his life. Eighteen months later he is back to clear his name and to claim Lorelai. Will he be able to do it with everyone searching for him? Will he be able to protect Lorelai? Good read.

This is the second book in the Savage Legacy Series. Zakh and Lorelai have been in a secret relationship for years. Just when Lorelai believes that Zakh will claim her, her father sets up a marriage contract for her. When Zakh father dies Lorelai rushes to be with him thinking that he will need some comforting. However Zach believes that breaking up with Lorelai is the only way to protect her from the danger. Zakh goes on the run after being framed for killing his uncle. A year later Zakh decides he needs to get Lorelai back in his life, but she no longer has faith in him. How will Zakh clear his name, find out who killed his uncle and get Lorelai to fall back in love with him? This story is filled with twists and turn, lies and secrets. Great story, very engaging it kept me riveted.

This is a well written mafia romance with a cast of strong characters centering on Zakh and Lorelai. The author does a great job developing the story and pulled me in with all the intrigue, mystery and romance. I was glued to the pages with all the action, suspense and surprises along the way. It's told in the dual POV which helps to show their thoughts and emotions, their anger and fears as well as their love for one another. The story moves fluidly with perfectly painted scenes and the author delivers another fantastic read. Loved and recommend this book.

Villain's Obsession is Zakh Volkova's book and was a good read! Zakh and Lorelai had a secret relationship as he was best friends with her brother. They continued seeing each other after Lorelai's father promised her to an evil man. Only for Zakh to push Lorelai away to protect her. Days later, he is implicated for murdering his uncle Leif. Zakh has been on the run for 18 months and is now back for Lorelai and to clear his name and find the true killer. Zakh was swoony, sexy and so protective of her. I loved the connection and chemistry between them and I really loved them. Looking forward to reading more in this series!

This is the second Book of the Savage Legacy series and one that will grab your attention immediately. Talk about a lot of danger and fast action, this book has it all. Lorliah and Zakh's story is steamy, passion and explosive chemistry. He's one of the most powerful men in Boston and her brother's best friend but is off limits to her. He spends most of his time trying to clear his name after being framed for murder. A search for truth, this story is told from a dual POV. No shortage of steamy scenes. Love this series!!! This picks up after the first book...Zakh has fled Boston and left everything he cares about in order to figure out who framed him. What hurt the most was leaving Lorelai. She was never meant for him, but that didn't matter. Lorelai thought Zakh would save her from the marriage her father arranged, but time was running out. Someone is manipulating the secret society and the Bratva and Zakh is determined to find who is behind it, and make sure Lorelai will be his. This is deliciously dark and brooding, but you can't help but get swept up in the danger, intrigue and undying passion in their story. I received this ARC from Bad boy Updates.
