Lexie Winston has done it again. Im in love with the Neighpalm Industries series.
It keeps getting better and better. After the cliffhanger from the last book, I was worried about Holden.
I thoroughly enjoyed everyones character development and fleshing out all their flaws. Its remarkable to see a diverse range of characters all going through and dealing with tough childhoods.
Harlow continues to be an amazing MC and was really happy for her in this book. The stalker plot progresses and I'm anxiously waiting for the big reveal.
The last two chapters had me reeling; I undoubtedly am going to count down the days till i can read the next book. I just want Harlow and the Summers' kids to get their HEA!!

I was eager to read the third book. I liked it but it was not as good as the first two books. There were several things annoying me:
- Harlow never talking to her foster parents, even though Luke is suddenly there without warning. And she doesn’t ask Chuck why he send him.
- After Shane and Alex leave with Jace she just stops talking to them and they are filling a gap and are her best friends.
- No contact to Hope when she leaves for Hawaii.
- Only little contact with Max after she went to the Summer’s.

I like:
This time there are no chapters that overlap much like those in Broken Girl, where I was unhappy with the same thing different POV with little more information.

The author found a good way to mend the rift between Harlow and Decan and Harlow and Jacinta and the insider joke is done, because everybody knows that she is a vet now. Also I was surprised that she did not get her licence for Cali directly after arriving there, because no chance she will work as a vet without it. Also Hope did not get to film the reaction of the Summer's "kids". That would have been nice material to hold over their head.

Cecilia: I don't like her. And that's what the author want. I hope she will be gone soon. In this book it feels that Cecilia is not involved personally in the different assaults on Harlow or her things: Trashing the room seems to be a guy. And Luke was gone at the time. The red paint seems to be blood and the sperm could be collected form animals or a guy. But if it is a guy you will see it in DNA testing.
Also I do not understand how Brad could give Cecilia unlimited access to Neighpalm property and also his personal property.

Again we are only moving on from Wednesday to Monday not even a week. They arrive in Hawaii on Saturday and have two nights there and So it's Monday and then she has the jet ski accident.

I also wonder why they stayed there and went for the snorkeling trip when there was a threat. The reasonable decision would have been to go home to be safe. Also why did Jaxson and Kai left her to swim out of their sight?

Finally the cliffhanger: I mean it's the third book with a cliffhanger. The first one was okay, the second bad and the third bad too. Cliffhanger is alway a tool in story telling, but two bad cliffhangers in a row is bad.

I'm enjoying the A-Typcial family dynamic now that they are all on the same side and have accepted the FMC as part of the Neighpalm family. The storyline has now turned into a mystery about a stalker who either wants to scare or kill the FMC? Personally, I think . I thought I knew who the stalker was but they gave the top two suspects an alibi so now it's a mystery again.

I'm enjoying the audiobooks, although I'm not thrilled about using all my Audible credits for such a long series. I'm starting to lose interest in the series, I'm not sure how many more of these I'll continue to purchase, if the books were available on KU I might feel more comfortable about completing the whole series but as it is I'm not sure I like it enough to purchase all the books/audiobooks.

I didn't write reviews for the first two books (both 3 stars from me), so this will encompass thoughts about all three books.

I like the idea behind these books but I'm not in love with the execution. I enjoy stories about main characters overcoming rough circumstances and getting the things they deserve. I also enjoy a good mystery. I think the author writes the chemistry between the characters really well. These are the things that kept me reading despite the fact that there were little-ish things that really bugged me.

For example:
- The Summers kids were horrible to Harlow in that first book. There were some pretty irredeemable things said and done. I was kind of confused on how the author was planning to make it so these characters could bond with Harlow eventually because, if I were her, there's no way they'd ever be in my good graces.

- It got old how Harlow just happened to be caught naked so many times, including the time when she "forgot" that she was naked and hopped out of the bed.

- I don't love it when characters "accidentally" say their thoughts out loud and everyone in the room chuckles and that's the thing that makes them realize their mistake. I can forgive it once but that's it. The same goes for when an action is done that causes a laugh and they claim to have forgotten that the other person (that they were speaking to just seconds ago) was there. Just own whatever you did or said and stop pretending.

- The way new characters are introduced is either best friend material or worst enemy. No in-between. If the girls aren't Harlow's friends, then they want one of the men in her life and are super bitchy about it. So many catty females who don't respect relationship boundaries. Then, there's Alex and Shane and Hope and Jace who are her instant new best friends. Jace, she'd known for like 15 minutes before offering to let him stay overnight at her friends' place. That same night, she's revealing huge family secrets in front of him and saying it's okay because she has a good feeling about him and he signed an NDA. NDAs are not necessarily going to keep him from talking, as evidenced by Jaxon's secretary emailing confidential info just earlier that same day. There's also the story of Thomas's ex stealing plans and sharing them, which is super well known at that point. I'm sure both of them signed NDAs.

- Statistically speaking, it seemed really unrealistic that everyone was bi and/or into polyamorous relationships. The data nerd in me just couldn't let go of that.

- Then there's that moment that Kai tells some random lost child about his relationship with Harlow and Jaxon, which was really unnecessary.

Then there are the bigger things that keep me from wanting to go further with this series:

- At this point, side characters seem to have been added for the purpose of moving the story along. Harlow never talks to the people she's supposedly close to unless it's convenient to the plot. She doesn't check in with the Bostons even though they're her "adopted" family. Max is supposed to be her best friend but she rarely answers her calls and doesn't make the effort to call to check in on her. Once Alex and Shane are out of town, she doesn't talk to them, until she needed to share her whereabouts with Alex in case something happened. But there's no, "Hey, how are you? Just checking in cause we're besties." Hope seems to have been a friend option just to share more on the adoption stories and move the stalker storyline forward with the car incident.

- When everyone's safety is at risk and Brad is thinking of locking everyone down to minimize any further harm, Harlow has an outburst about her upcoming vacation. It's one thing if it was only her safety on the line and she wanted to risk it, but it's not. Don't be so selfish. Plus, they have an insane amount of money, so they can afford to take this trip at any time.

- I'm kind of confused about everyone thinking Harlow will be fine as long as she's with one of the boys since they attempt to shoot her while the entire family is out on a ride together. The stalker clearly isn't concerned with other people being around.

- There's very little accountability taken by the siblings for their actions. There's a lot of "we had a rough past" and "Jacinta got in my head." A) I feel there's a huge difference between making someone feel unwelcome and being outright cruel. Yes, their histories may make it so that they don't trust her or feel welcoming towards her. However, their actions were more a symptom of them being a**holes than a reaction coming from their trauma. B) Jacinta was not solely responsible for that billboard fiasco and I'd love for them to recognize that instead of constantly blaming her.

- The concern from the siblings is that Harlow is a gold digger and only wants a relationship with Brad so that she can get something from him. Even if that were true, so what? He's her dad and she would have had access to all of those things had she grown up with him. If he feels bad and wants to indulge her, so what? That's his choice. It's his money and she's his daughter. He wasn't immediately going to sign everything over to her, so why not give her a chance? It was a really childish and nonsensical reaction, in my opinion.

- My last issue is that the third book was kind of boring. At this point, Harlow has only been with the Summers family for 2-3 weeks and it feels like it's starting to drag. I don't need to read every last detail of every day.

I'm more than likely not going to continue this series even though I'm wanting to see how the mystery shakes out (I've got strong suspicions).

2 1/2

This is a hard book for me to rate. I like this storyline, I want to finish this series. But I can not get over how unbelievable this story is. I have tons of eye rolling moments, followed by " are you ppl serious! " let's start out by remembering this whole family is super rich, in the spotlight, and very good looking. Yet they can't for the life of them protect their property? They don't even have body guard's? Someone is in their house! Deleting camera footage? Come on! This doesn't make a lick of sense? Do you honestly see this happening? And then there is the constant crying Harlow does, it's every other page! In no shape of form was she this weak in the beginning. But now she's ugly sobbing, "I got to leave" ( eyeroll)! Not once does she get herself together and say " i will not let these ppl hurt me or my family! No, she is a complete mess and it was disgusting. She never truly thinks things through. And by the end she had a tstl moment. She's literally attacked and yet she decides to go and put herself in another dangerous situation? Thinking! Well they haven't attacked while out. A crazy psycho is after you and ur family and yet ur like " nah, we should be good this one time even though I'm hurting from last night's attack to try to murder us!? Come on!! And lastly, id appreciate if the author could use other ways of showing interest. I was bashing my head over and over the same words and actions with Harlow being turned on. She's shivering every time someone speaks or touched her, and her nipples got hard with her panties getting wet. Every other page is exactly this! Or her staring at them like a complete Moran! Plot is good, execution is horrible.

I’m liking Harlow less and less as the series continues. She talks so much about wanting family and friends but she’s super shitty to the ones she’s always had. Her sister is clearly in need of some emotional support but Harlow ignores/forgets to call her like she’s been doing for the past several weeks and she couldn’t find 5 minutes to pick up the phone and talk to Melinda or Chuck. Gross.

It also bothers me that everything makes her horny and how often she’s caught ogling the men. Men who stare at women’s body’s as long and hard as she does would be considered perverted and Harlow definitely comes off as a creepy pervert. You can appreciate the opposite sexes bodies without it becoming so distracting that everyone in the room notices and your name needs to be called several times to bring you out of a sex trance. Gross.

And lastly, this book was boring. She forgave Jaxon way too easily in my opinion and she does all the heavy lifting to develop the relationships. It’s cool that she goes for what she wants, but coupled with my prior paragraph, the picture of who Harlow is feels.. desperate. Weak, desperate and so involuntarily celibate that her nipples harden when a dude breathes in her direction.

Holy moly! WTF did I just finished reading!? This book was amazing! It was fast-paced and action-packed, nail biting, sitting on the edge of your seat, and a steamy passionate book! There is just so much going on. I can’t wait until the secrets, mysteries, and lies to be uncovered! Seriously cannot wait until book four to come out!

Oh! By the way. The cliffhanger was so shocking and hurtful, y’all are going to be outraged and blown away! The ending is going to haunt me for months to come until I get answers. This is why book four needs to come out quickly and pronto!!

I was given an early release of this book by the author. This review is written by own opinions and thoughts.

Damn this series just keeps getting better and more insane. Smother brutal cliffhanger and a whole lot of drama. Finally the guys and Jacinta actually start to see Harlow as a decent human, sure some of it may be because they need her help but I’m glad they’re finally almost on the way to something. The guys have also started to air their grandmas advice on sharing Harlow and she starts spending more time with them all when they’re not actually being assholes. Personally I think she’s being too nice and forgiving but I’m glad the annoying sexual tension and hormonal imbalances while they were belittling her or just being plain assholes is done. She’s not holding the grudge I would that’s for sure. I’m officially hooked on all this drama and now that everyone is getting along I’m ready to find out whose behind all this stalking and sabotage. I have some guesses but time will tell. I’m also waiting none too patiently for someone to wake up and purchase the property next door for Harlow so she can have her own rescue or something, swear they all may be filthy rich but they’re not the brightest 🤪

I like the writing style but the author but I keep seeing this same pattern that there is so much hate for random women. Ok I get the men are supposed to be hot but it's so unrealistic that every girl fawns over them and are super rude to Harlow every single time. If they aren't a main character then the women just always want a piece of the men. It's annoying

This book- no, this entire series- seriously needs to come with a warning! I’ve now read this book twice and my heart still can’t stop pounding!!

Let me first say, I didn’t discover this author until about a month ago- then I binged through everything she’s published like I had been on a low carb, no sugar diet and this was my first feast. I barely got any sleep.

I worried when I started this series because of so many characters involved. Like a pro, though, Lexi drew such detailed pictures of these very different characters that it was easy to get sucked it to this world.

This new book, Tormented Girl, was no different. It was a face-paced, heart-pounding, can’t-put-down, intensely HOT read. I binged through it so fast, I had to take a day to try to calm my heart and try to stop screaming at the thought of having to wait for book 4.

Once I could breathe again, I still couldn’t stop obsessing. There’s just so many twists and turns- things even a voracious reader like myself couldn’t figure out. So of course, I had to start back at book 1 again hoping this time, if I read slower maybe I’d pick up on clues. Sigh. I have so many theories...

Seriously though, this is a must-read RH. It started out as slow burn but heated up to extreme levels in this book. The mystery, complex family and friend dynamics, and of course, the crazy complicated romance with no paranormal elements, makes this series truly unique in the RH world. Actually, even if you haven’t read RH before, I’d still highly recommend this series.

I won this ARC through a readers group. I am only reviewing because I sincerely can’t stop thinking about this book and want others to join me in my addiction, I mean, love for this book and series.

Y’all..... this series 😀😋🥺😳😬🤬🥰

Let me tell you about this book and about Lexie Winston. I’m gonna start off with how mad I am. #1- I’m mad at Lexie Winston for writing such a good dang series. Like, I can’t handle this addiction lady. #2- I’m mad at Harlow. This girl. 🤦🏻‍♀️. #3- I’m mad at myself. I was so excited the other night to keep reading. I had to stop the night before right in the middle of a super good part. I got everyone off to bed, took care of the dogs, got everything done so I could sit back and read for a while. Oh it was so good. I was all up in it. Turned the page...and that was it. It was over. 😭😭I hadn’t been paying attention to how far I was. I wasn’t prepared for it to end. I was so grouchy for the rest of the night lol.

Anyways if you haven’t read this series, DO IT!! Please. You will love it, I promise. And if you do, then we can be conspiracy buddies. I keep thinking I have it figured out but then little miss author lady shoots my ideas right out of the water. Enjoy!!

The Plot Thickens

This really is a multi-faceted story. There is the complexity of Harlow finding her new family and her place within it. Then there is the story about making new friends and becoming more confident in herself. On top of that layer we have the romantic relationships that are developing with the adopted sons of her father. Finally we have the story about the stalker.

After the last book’s ending, it should come as no surprise that there is a horrendous cliffhanger at the end of this book too. Just putting that out there, in case it’s something you can’t tolerate, but if that were the case you wouldn’t have got this far, so I don’t know why I’m worried about it.

As I was reading this book I was in awe of the author. I’m absolutely stunned that she managed to make me believe that a strong and independent thinking woman like Harlow would forgive the way she has been treated by her new ‘family’. The very clever writing had me understanding and sympathising with the transgressors and accepting that Harlow could forgive them. They all moved forwards towards forgiveness at their own pace, on individual journeys. I also liked how Jacinta did her own soul searching.

At the end of book 2, I was so sure I knew who the stalker was, but by the end of this book, I haven’t got a clue. There seems to be all sorts of conflicting situations that confuse who could be to blame and why. No one has a clue and there are all sorts of mysteries surrounding Harlow’s mother’s death too.

Basically, there is tonnes going on in this very cleverly structured book, and as I get to know each character I find myself learning to love them a little bit more. Every character is complex and interesting. I love the way they all interact with each other. I also appreciate there is some actual sex in this book, as after all the fooling around in the previous two books, there needed to be some action in this one. It was worth the wait! (fans face with the heat!!!)

This series just keeps getting more interesting and I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us.

With every book in this series I fall more and more in love with Harlow and her guys. They way these characters are maturing and evolving is just wonderful. I started of this series with certain definite favorites but with each book I'm finding it harder and harder to choose which character I love most. Which is so incredible and exactly what you want in a Reverse Harem Romance, right? Usually I finish reading a book or a series and am able to say I liked one or two characters over the rest, so far not this time. Harlow is definitely an amazing character and the dual confidence/vulnerability we see from her is endearing. I have been totally turned around on characters I was determined to hate too. Lexie has done a brilliant job with this book. 10/10 would recommend. I fething loved it!!!

Not even going to lie favorite book this year and I've already read 46 others!!
Harlow will take you on the ups and downs of all the unexpected, wonderful, and downright awful things that happen to her and those around her. In Tormented Girl all the guys besides, one has finally given her the benefit of the doubt and she just may have a new sister in the making. Let us not even talk about the cliff hanger Lexie left for us at the end you will just have to read to figure out what I am talking about, but I will say it has me wishing it were already September than I could get my hands on Wanted Girl. Lexie is an amazing author, and this is my very first review that I have ever written so I hope that I am doing her book justice. I was blown away with the story line this series has, and I highly recommend you dive right into Neighpalm Industries Collective.
