The Grey Wolves #18

The Hybrid Rule: Book 18 of the Grey Wolves Series

Rate this book
So many impossibly powerful foes have opposed the wolves and their allies over the years. Evil witches, warlocks, fae, elves, and alphas, just to name a few. And all have found the pack too strong to break. But the foe hellbent on taking down the pack now—the vampire king, Cain—has a plan that might finally tip the balance of power away from the wolves.

In the middle of the desert, Cain works desperately to find a way to mix the blood of wolves and vampires. While most find the idea reprehensible, Cain believes it is the key to his victory. He imagines an army of unstoppable hybrids with the combined power of the vampires and the Canis lupus. Such a force would be unstoppable, even for the powerful of alpha of alphas, Fane Lupei. And Cain just might have found the secret ingredient necessary to bring his plans to fruition.

Hello, Readers. My name is Quinn Loftis and I am lucky enough to call myself a novelist. In 2011, I self-published my first novel, Prince of Wolves with no expectations, other than my friends and family might purchase the book out of pity. Now, several years later, with 30+ novels and counting under my belt, Prince of Wolves had been downloaded over 1 million times. Though I was hesitant at the time to submit my work to the world for their scrutiny, I'm so glad I did. It made my dream of making a living by telling stories a reality.

I'm blessed to share my household my wonderful husband of more than twenty years (who also co-writes with me on occasion), three beautiful sons, a French Bulldog, and an oversized tabby cat. I love hearing from readers, so if you have any questions about the books or my journey, don't hesitate to hit the 'Contact Quinn' in the menu above. Thank you so much for taking a chance on my books.

Excerpt from The Hybrid Rule

“What do you look like?” Lizzy asked as the voice in her mind. She rolled her head around her shoulders, trying to stretch her neck. Lizzy had grown stiff sitting on the cold linoleum floor. Her captor hadn’t even bothered to lock her in a furnished room. She leaned with her back and head against the wall, trying to find a position that was, if not comfortable, didn’t cause her muscles to ache. At some point, she had stopped counting the days. Vampires came and went, bringing food and escorting her to the bathroom. Time had little meaning when nothing changed, and no one would give her any information as to how long or why she was being held prisoner.
The worst part was she had come willingly. Looking back, she cursed herself for how stupid she had been, how easily she’d been manipulated. Now she knew the truth. Well, she knew some of the truth. The problem was, the truth was too unbelievable to believe. Vampires, werewolves, hybrids, and true mates? Strange men speaking into her mind. I am so confused. Lizzy didn’t know what to believe.

“Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.” Finn’s voice intruded on her inner ramblings. Lizzy had forgotten she’d even asked him a question. Since she had regained consciousness, Lizzy’s thoughts were jumping all over the place.

“Seems like it,” she said. “But, who knows how long I would have laid there on the gurney in that catatonic state if you hadn’t come along?”

What was happening to Lizzy was almost too strange to describe. Apparently, Finn, who claimed to be her true mate, was somehow bonded to her. And he had used that bond to break into her mind. Since he’d done so, Cain had been unable to put her back to sleep. No matter how many drugs his goofy scientist boy tried to put into her, Lizzy’s body fought off their effects. Finn told her he was using the mate bond to give her some of his strength. Lizzy couldn’t begin to understand how it worked, but this whole mate bond thing was proving to be quite useful. Cain was pissed about it, which was the most advantageous benefit, and the memory of the vampire’s frustrated cursings caused her to smile.

“Has he come to see you again?” Finn asked, his voice all growly. The sound in her mind made Lizzy smile, though after Cain’s first visit, Lizzy had been forced to figure out a way to block the wolf from her thoughts. As soon as Cain had entered her room, Finn had gone into a tizzy of epic proportions. Lizzy had found the tirade charming, but also distracting. She hadn’t been able to concentrate with Finn screaming obscenities at the vampire, especially when only she could hear them. Maybe she shouldn’t get a kick out of the fact that this man she’d never met was so protective and jealous of her. But hey, what girl doesn’t want a man to be jealous of her? And not jealous in a ‘I own your body and only I’m allowed to sell it’ sort of way. But jealous in a ‘I want to protect you with my dying breath, and anyone who gets in the way of me doing that will die’ sort of way. Maybe jealousy wasn’t exactly the best way to describe it. She lifted her hand and tapped her chin.

“Possessive, protective, and yes,” Finn chuckled, “maybe a little jealous.”
“A little?”

“He’s gotten to lay eyes on you more than once. And you were asleep when I saw you. So, Iguess it is more than a little.”

“Hmm,” she said out loud and nodded. “Well, I haven’t gotten to lay eyes on you even once. So, I’ll ask you again. What do you look like?”

Lizzy could feel Finn’s irritation at the question, but she didn’t understand it. Instead of pushing for an answer, she simply waited. A few minutes passed, and then the image of a man suddenly filled her mind—an attractive man. “Whoa.” Her brow rose even as she kept her eyes closed and focused on the image he was projecting into her mind. His hair was dark auburn, and he was rocking that messy but sexy look. His eyes were dark and rimmed in black, making him appear as if he was wearing eyeliner. Finn had a straight nose, and an auburn beard and mustache that he wore close to his face, allowing her to see a strong jaw and thin lips. All in all, he was hot.
“It’s the last picture I saw of myself,” he explained. “That’s probably better than trying to describe myself to you.”

“Uh-huh,” she said absently as she studied the image. Finn was standing beside a truck. He was muscular and tall, but not massively large as she imagined werewolves to be courtesy of television and movies.

“I’m six foot,” he offered. “Not that tall among my kind.”

“Okay, ‘not that tall.’ I’m a foot shorter. Nice to meet you,” she said dryly. “You’ve kind of got a rocker vibe going on. Though the auburn hair wasn’t what I pictured, at least not from your voice. I was thinking burly lumberjack, and I pictured you a little older. The auburn hair makes me think of a penny. Not like an old rustic penny but instead you’re more of a semi-new, still a little shiny penny.” What the hell was she going on about? A penny, Lizzy, really? Okay, so maybe his unexpected good looks were throwing her off her game. Not that she had any game.

“How old are you, Lizzy?” Finn asked.

Thankfully, he threw her a lifeline. “Uh, Nineteen.” She felt relief flow through the bond. Then she laughed hysterically. Maybe it was tasteless to laugh at this man who had pledged to love and protect her, but Lizzy was being held captive by a vampire because she apparently had werewolf blood flowing through her veins. At this point, how was she supposed to know how to act? “Were you worried that you were mated to jail bait?”

“No,” he answered, though she felt there was a hint of hesitancy in his answer. “Our bond wouldn’t have connected if you weren’t of the appropriate age.”

She frowned. “Who determines the appropriate age? A couple hundred years ago, it wasn’t uncommon for someone my age to not only be married but have a house full of kids.”

“The Great Luna.” He said the name with reverence. “Our creator. She determines the time for a true mate pair to join.”

Lizzy didn’t really know how she felt about that. Not because she didn’t believe there was some sort of creator out there, but if there was, then why hadn’t they cared about her? If there was someone, a God, this Great Luna, or whoever had apparently created her and Finn, and destined them to be together like some great love story, then why had this being allowed Lizzy to live through nineteen years of hell on earth to get to this point in her life? Lizzy took in the bare walls and dirty floor surrounding her and laughed out loud again. “What point in her life was she talking about?” she asked the empty room. “I’m not exactly living my best life here.” She laughed harder, almost hysterically, imagining all the crap she’d been through, everything she had survived, only to end up trapped in a six-by-six room, waiting for the king of all vampires to turn her into a werewolf vampire hybrid. “Holy crap.” Lizzy huffed and grabbed her stomach. Her muscles clenched, partially from laughing and partially from hunger. She had refused the last two meals the vamps had offered her. “I guess I should be honored. Look at me. I’m special. Woo hoo.” She rolled her eyes and slumped back against the wall.

“Why won’t you eat?” Finn asked. At least this time, he didn’t growl at her. Spoke too soon, she thought, as a snarl came through the bond.

“I’ve already told you. The food could be poisoned.”

She could practically feel him shaking his head. “And I’ve already told you, he wants you alive. He’s not going to poison you. Why would he poison you if he is planning on turning you into a hybrid? And if he wanted to kill you, he could obviously do it without poison.” A mixture of fear and rage came through the bond with Finn’s last statement.

“Even still,” she replied. “Best not to take chances. He could change his mind at any minute and decide I’m better off dead. And yes, I’m always this hard headed,” she said before he could ask her, because she knew he would. They’d talked so much since he’d woken her up that she felt like she knew what he was going to say. Or maybe it was because she could feel what he was feeling. Finn was like an open book. “So, Linc, how old are you?”

“Linc?”

The wariness in his voice made her smile. “Yeah, like Lincoln, cuz you’re a not-so-old penny. Remember?”

She felt his humor through the bond, which was what she’d wanted. Anything to keep him distracted. She’d realized Finn had a tendency to get cranky when he focused on things like her refusal to eat or her periodic visits from the vampire king.

“I’m…” He paused as if he had to think about the question.

“Dude, red flags are going off in my head if you’re having to think about this answer.”
“I’m not trying to lie about my age. I’m just—”

Lizzy blew out a breath. “Good. For a minute, I was thinking you’re like some really old dude who just happens to be hot and looks younger than his actual age. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. You know. I mean, to each their own. Cougars and silver foxes need love, too.”

“You think I’m hot?”

Lizzy rolled her eyes. “I think you know the answer to that question. So, either you’re actually humble or you’re a narcissist looking for compliments. Please don’t be a narcissist. I’ve never thought I could be capable of murder, but after some dealings of the narcissistic variety, I am now completely confident I could kill some of the narcissists I’ve run across. And I’m talking premeditated, first degree, not that weak little manslaughter crap.”

“I think we all have a little bit of narcissism in us.” Finn’s deep voice rumbled in her mind. “But I don’t think my ego is any bigger than the next wolf’s. The reason I had to think about my age is because Canis lupus age differently than humans.”

Lizzy’s eyes snapped open. She didn’t even flinch at the bright fluorescent lights that glared off the white walls. “Age differently how?”

“We age one year for every six human years. But I’ve noticed that our aging slows down even more once we’ve bonded with our true mate.”

“Oh, so that makes you almost, but not quite, as cool as a dog.”

She heard Finn scoff in her mind. “I’m sorry, did you just say I’m not quite as cool as a dog?”

“Yeah, you age six years for every one of our years. Instead of a dog, which is seven years for every one of ours. So, you are almost as good. It’s okay. Not many people are as good as dogs. I learned that a long time ago.”

“Okay, with the exception of the bit about dogs being better than humans, everything you just said is wrong.”

She raised her eyebrows. “Why?”

She felt him sigh, as if her hand was lying on his chest. She could literally sense the rise and fall like a physical sensation. “Well, first, while dogs are awesome, they can’t speak into your mind like I can. Which makes me cooler. And second–”

Lizzy held up a hand, though no one was around to see it. “Hold on. I’ve never owned a dog. Growing up without a home tends to preclude pet ownership. But I’ve met a ton of them, and I’ve known some pretty intuitive dogs. It certainly felt like they could read my mind. And I felt like I knew exactly what they were thinking.”

She could tell Finn was nodding. “Okay, I’ll give you that one. But still, the rest of what you said was wrong. To begin with, you are not human. So, you might as well quit thinking of yourself as one.”

Lizzy gulped. I’m not human. Then what the hell am I? A dormant Canis lupus. Even after all she’d seen, Lizzy was still having trouble wrapping her head around it.

“And your math is off. You’re thinking I age six years while a human ages one. Actually, I age one year while a human ages six.

“And that makes you…?” she asked slowly.

“Um, I guess I would be twenty-five in human years.”

“And in werewolf years?”

“That would put me about a hundred and fifty.”

“Oh. I see.” A host of thoughts assaulted Lizzy’s mind. Talk about an age gap. Older men weren’t necessarily her type—not that she had a type. And Finn certainly didn’t look like he was a hundred and fifty. So, I guess it’s not a big deal, she told herself. But then her mind jumped to the fact that she’d known guys who were actually twenty-five instead of a hundred and fifty. And they had been around the proverbial female block way, way too many times. What did that mean for a man who’d been alive for so long? He must have been around the block, the neighborhood, the city, the whole freaking state. Is this jealousy I’m feeling? What the hell?

“Canis lupus do not seek out females other than our true mates,” he said quickly, having picked up on her racing thoughts.

“Sorry, my copper-headed suitor,” she said, “but I’m not buying that. Apparently, I’m a dormant wolf thingie, which means I can only exist if a full-blooded Canis lupus had relations with a human. And from what I understand, which I admit is very little, Canis lupus and humans cannot be true mates. So, someone, somewhere along the way, dipping into a cookie jar that didn’t belong to his true mate… or her true mate, I guess. I don’t want to be sexist and just assume it was the male wolfie who was doing the fornicating outside of matehood.” Lizzy didn’t like the fact that jealousy made her blood boil at the idea of Finn putting his hands on another female, especially when she’d not so much as laid her physical eyes on him. Regardless of this true mate bond he said was between them, she didn’t have any sort of claim on him, at least she didn’t feel like she did.

He growled again.

“You’ve got to get that stuff under control,” she told him. “You can’t just go around growling.”

“You have a lot to learn about Canis lupus. There will be much growling. And I’m not going around anywhere,” he snapped. “I’m sitting in a box, unable to get to you. My wolf is going stir crazy because we cannot be by your side. We cannot keep you safe, and that is making us both a little irritable.”

She snorted. “A little?”

“Harrumph.” He huffed like a child who’d been told he couldn’t have his favorite toy.

Lizzy’s butt grew numb. She rolled over and laid on her stomach, propping her chin on the palms of her hands. “How about we talk about something that takes your mind off what’s making you cranky?”

“Nothing is going to take my mind off you being the prisoner of a bloodsucker.”

“Well—,” Lizzy began, but then the door to her cell opened, cutting off the thought. She turned her head and saw a woman step into the room. The newcomer raised her hands in a placating gesture.
“Lizzy…” Finn snarled.

She slammed the visual walls down in her mind, knowing he would lose his crap, which meant he’d attempt to destroy the room he was in, which only resulted in himself getting hurt.

“I’m not here to hurt you,” the woman said. “My name is Alice.”

BOOK 18?!? SAY WHAT?!?! Yep, I've made it this far in this series. I started reading this series when it first released in 2011. This is a comfort series for me and as long as Quinn writes them, I will read them. Especially Costin, he is my favorite wolf.

There wasn't a lot that happened in this one - which to be fair, they needed a break. However, it still gave us plenty to read and think about. I like filler books like this mainly because my heart can breathe but we're also still gaining vital information to the series plot.

It was interesting but also sad (because Lizzy deserves better) to see the plans moving forward and yet not being aware of the outcome. Fane has so much of my respect because he didn't ask for the task of being Alpha of the Alpha's but the compassion he showed to a rogue wolf who called out through that alpha bond . . . I melted.

Also, I'm going to need everyone to leave Peri alone. My girl needs a century long break.

You know the saying "Change is good."...well I guess that depends on who you ask. I had the extreme pleasure of being an ARC reader for this book. Quinn amazes me with every new book. How one mind can create such an intense and massive supernatural world that holds my attention for so many years astounds me. This time she delivers yet again. New insight into the minds of friends and foes keeps my eyes glue to the pages. Again I found myself liking the villain but then hating him at the same time. New surprises both happy and sad continue with each chapter. Ready for book 19 please and thank you!!

I had the incredible honor of being an ARC for The Hybrid Rule and what an amazing read. I'm not sure how Quinn does it, but I'm so glad that she does! Without giving away any spoilers, this book had so many plot twists and turns I felt like I was on a roller coaster!
Quinn throws you right into a supernatural world that does not feel supernatural. These girls are your family. The furbutts are your protectors!
Quinn always leaves you waiting more and you never want to wait to get it!
If you have not read The Grey Wolves Series, please do not start with this book. Start at the beginning with Prince of Wolves, I promise you, you will not regret it!

The Hybrid Rule ruled me! Right from the beginning, I was pulled in. The Prologue caught my attention. By the end of chapter One, my emotions were pulled, pushed and shaken up. The Hybrid Rule was new and not. Greed and power guides too many. Vampires operate with a different set of rules...mainly none. We already knew at least one hybrid Jacque, the female Alpha who is part Sprite. We see more of her power in The Hybrid Rule. But, I am guessing we will learn more about hybrids in the future.

The new and new-ish female characters have moved right into the already overflow crowd of amazing supernatural warriors. They represent the best (and maybe worse) of a warped world. Time will tell. Some have survived horrendous events and they still find ways to care about others. Rogue wolves are still around. More questions are being asked. Few are answered.

Myanin has quickly become a favorite warrior even though she has a past filled with big mistakes wrapped in selfishness. My favorite characters Jen, Jacque and Sally are present. More mature -- even Jen. Their men are still fighting the good fight. Many of the old famous and infamous beings are present. Peri, Zara, Tanya, Dillon, Kara, Nick and more are present with their sarcasm, yet each can be accepted as is without knowing their full back stories, though after reading this book, you will want to know more. I hope going forward the magnificent Quinn Loftis includes a family or mate tree along with the alpha pack names and their connections because it is a winding, twisted, and ultimately connected road to the Great Luna.

The Hybrid Rule is full of deception and treachery. It is also full of love and passion. It is still very much YA in that there are no explicit sex scenes and the language is fairly mild. But there is darkness and light. There are many twists, turns, ups and downs that have you sitting on the edge of your seat and every now and then you might need to scream. There are characters I wanted to smack. Others I wanted to hug. Absolutely nothing surpasses the wisdom, love, and adorableness of the babies. They left me wanting much more of them without danger, though.

I am convinced that if you have never read a book written by Quinn Loftis, then you are missing out BIG TIME, and if you start with The Hybrid Rule, you will enjoy it. You will also probably want to go back to the beginning after reading The Hybrid Rule. She includes a reading order list to help you, but don't let that list turn you away. With The Hybrid Rule, there is a noticeable shift as if the circle is being widened welcoming new readers to the fold. FOR THE PACK!

Book eighteen of the magnificent grey wolves series by the talented storyteller Quinn Loftis. This book is a fantastic addition to this great series. Quinn gives real depth to her characters and the level of realism as they go through personal emotional and relationship struggles is very captivating to read. I love the fact that she isn’t afraid to kill off loved characters and surprise her readers. I love the fact that she has her recurring main characters and supporting characters but regularly introduces new characters to the series expanding this fictional world she has created. I love how this supernatural series has a wide spectrum of supernatural characters such as the werewolves, vampires, far, elves, djinn, pixies, warlocks, witches, sprites, gypsy healers, trolls and draheim. I definitely recommend reading this series or really any book written by her you won’t be disappointed.

Following the events of the previous book the dormant Lizzie Fairchild and the rogue alpha wolf Finn are being held at a human military facility Area 51, because Cain the vampire king is working with human scientists trying to create an army of hybrids. Cain is made aware of Alston the traitor of a high fae’s death. Cain has discovered the key to making a hybrid thanks to the fact that Alice a human scientist is a gypsy healer, she’s conflicted on helping Cain but thanks to her father ordering her to spy on Cain she has no choice and they inject Lizzie with gypsy healer and vampire blood to make her into a hybrid the transformation will take about six days since that’s how long it takes to transform into vampire. Finn desperate to get to his mate uses the mate bond to contact Fane to alert him about Cain using gypsy healer blood with vampire blood and experimenting on dormant wolves. Lilly, Tenia, Myanin, Dillion and Tanya are questioning the captured vampire Claude for answers when they receive word from Fane about Lizzie and Finn’s situation and that they is an undiscovered gypsy healer now in Cain’s grasp. Fane recruits the pregnant gypsy healer Kara and her mate Nick for assistance who is horrified to learn that Cain has her friend whom she thought was dead. Since his fathers death Thalion is now the elf king, Decebel and Jen are still dealing with Jen’s miscarriage, Boain and his mate Lorna are tasked to visit cities where they have found dormant wolves to try protect them. Peri and Nissa have a personal mission so they get other fae to step in and give the pack a hand. Jen discovers that Thia has a habit of dismembering her dolls. Jewel and Kara are reunited since Kara’s rescue from Ludcarab, shocked to learn that Kara is pregnant. Jacque while fighting vampires uses her sprite abilities again. Lizzie survives the hybrid experiment, Alice who has been reading up in the gypsy healer books seeks information about mates from Lizzie who realises that Alice is lonely making her feel some sympathy towards her especially after Alice confides in her about being there against her will too and ordered to spy on Cain. Lizzie tells Alice that the wolves are coming for them and they’ll want Alice too because she’s a gypsy healer. Nissa, peri and Lucien head to the draheim realm looking for answers on their missing memories about being rescued by the draheim when they were children. The great Luna steps in and tells them it’s not time to know. Jen who isn’t on the hunt for vampires is watching over the children with Rachel and sally is training Titus Sally’s son who surprises them by turning into a grey and white wolf puppy, much to everyone’s pleasure, Kara and jewel enlist sally and rachels help to use the gypsy healer bond but it doesn’t work completely. Fane expressed reservations about them contacting Alice because she is working with Cain and unsure of her loyalties. Tenia uses her control powers on Claude making him a spy to get them information on the base and make contact with Alice. Alice and Cain argue because she doesn’t want to harm people but Cain opens up about when he was turned into a vampire against his will, vampires and wolves were fighting and the vampires were desperate so they started attacking villages feeding and turning them into vampires this happened to Cain and he went after his fiancé Alice who had been bitten as well but the wolves had killed her and all the others that had been bitten that’s what he has against the wolves. Lizzie starts dying because she needs blood, Cain has been adamant about keeping her separate from her mate Finn but when Gus blood doesn’t work gives in Finn and her claim each other a fight breaks out between Finn and Cain which is broken by Claude biting Alice Cain tries transforming her into a vampire to save her. Claude informs Tenia that Cain has over two hundred dormants and that he bit Alice to save Lizzie and finn but knows Alice will die because she needs her true mate blood and gypsy healers only have wolf mates, he also informs her he’s broken free from her influence warns her about his obsession with her. Lily and Thad come with a warning that the demon book is in the hands of a sprite they don’t recognise. The female sprite in question plans to bring her sisters back I think it may be the same one from The previous book that helped Cain find the rogue wolves angry at peri for killing her four sisters tapped in the order. Finn and Lizzie sharing a cell now concerned by cains threat that of Alice dies he will kill everyone in the military base and knows his blood won’t be enough to save Alice because her gypsy healer dna will fight his blood off only the blood of her werewolf mate can save her.

‘“The Hybrid Rule” by Quinn Loftis is the eighteenth book in The Grey Wolves Series. As per usual Quinn Loftis does not disappoint us with her unique, imaginative and amazing talent for writing. Quinn has created this wonderful world in which she transports you to by her words alone.

This book is exploring deeper into a few new characters that came about in the last book. It is thought provoking and has you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. The storyline of course includes our new Alpha couple who have grown and matured so much within the series as well as our beloved Pack and Gypsy Healers. Will there be new pairing mates that have never before happened? What does The Great Luna have in store for her precious supernatural children she so loves in this series?

Quinn Loftis you have outdone yourself again, you get better and better at creating storylines that hold our interest and peak our imaginations. I look forward to the next book following these amazing characters. If this genre is for you then you should definitely pick up a book by Quinn Loftis, you will not be disappointed!!

Very Exciting and So Enjoyable

Oh WOW! WOW I am really enjoying this series and it will easily keep you on edge of suspense. There's a powerful combination of suspense and excitement that gives fuel to your romance. All of the characters are so captivating and their relationships is magnificent. The story is so suspenseful and when you add in their drama, along with their emotions about their mates with the intriguing twists they go through you have a tale that's a great read and that's truly delightful. There are parts that will bring smile and sometimes a frown to your face with lots of emotions in your heart. The series is such a pleasurable experience that you will certainly enjoy them all. It's definitely a awesome story to read but for one thing and that's the cliffhanger but if you enjoy a good cliffhanger then this is it. I really enjoyed this series of books.

Thank you Quinn for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC reader for you again. This book, the 18th in the series is an amazing read. I was hooked from the moment I opened the book - so hooked I was late for work! The Hybrid Rule follows on well from the previous books, whilst adding so much more to the series. There are so many new angles, that we get to explore, whilst not losing where the story began, and the character development is amazing to see… I enjoyed every twist and turn of this journey. I have so many favourite moments in this book and the cliff hangers (yes, there are several) have left me eagerly awaiting the next book… I really hope it’s not a long wait!
Every book in this series is special, you, the reader become part of the pack… the characters become your friends and family. I cannot wait to see where the journey will take us next. #ForThePack

Oh Hell No!!
Why are there always evil creatures after Peri, sprites in this case. And who are these sisters she want to bring back from the dead? And why does she want Peri dead?

I loved this book, but that isn't a surprise because everytime I read Quinn's books, I'm sucked into the world like I'm a part of it. And I love the sarcasm and jokes throughout the book, it always makes me laugh.

I'm so happy that Lizzie made it thanks to Finn. But I wonder if they'll actually survive now that Alice's life depends on her true mate that she hasn't met yet and no one knows the identity of.
So I guess Cain better keep her alive so he doesn't go on a killing spree because of his newly found emotions now that he had claimed her as his 'mate' according to Claude.

I can't wait to read the next book and see what will happen to everyone.

Oh WOW! This is so different than the other Grey Wolves book. We saw what Cain was up to and how he is trying to build an army to fight Fane and everyone, but will he still feel that way after realizing his feelings about Alice. Glad to see that Finn and Lizzy were finally mated and was able to stay together. There was no fighting and everyone was calm, even Jennifer (as calm as she could be). I was waiting for a rescue from Fane and company, but no. Cain in love? Never thought it would be possible, but want happens when her true mate shows up? Jennifer and Decebel need to get pregnant again real soon. Cannot wait for the next one. If you have not read this series, start at the beginning. You will not be sorry.

This is the 18th book in the Grey Wolves Series you should really read this series with the Gypsy Healers Series in order to fully enjoy what is going on with all the characters. Each book builds on the last while adding new characters and exciting things you don’t except. This book like all of Quinn’s books is full of laughter, emotions and friendships. Quinn writes in a way that makes you feel as if you’re part of the pack and you feel what they are going through and cheer for them and cry for them. This was a great book and I’m looking forward to reading the next book. Hope this series continues for years to come.

OK, I am so honor to be an ARC reader once again, and to try to put the rights words to express everything that happens in this book. You are going to start this book and you wont be able to let it go, you would feel everything, soo many emotions, and when you think that you´ve seen it all, read it all, it doesn’t… it´s so awesome the power that has Quinn to put the feelings in the words in the story. I was so scary that the end would come, is like… what else she can write? And her mind and power to write is endless. LOVE IT, FOR THE PACK¡

I love the story and the characters. Quinn does an incredible job of developing the characters and the story. I am really curious to see how the story unfolds.
Quinn brings to life characters that are very well developed, and we get to see them shine. As we get to watch them shine, Quinn doesn’t shy away from bringing us the difficult and heartbreaking moments. I love how things that happen in the story aren’t forgotten, they good things are celebrated and the hard things are worked through, and the vampires become separated from their hearts and heads.

My favorite series has a crazy twist what!! Can’t wait for the next book! This book was an amazing book as all her books are but in this book there is a twist we will have to wait and see how it unfolds. If you haven’t read the grey wolves series you have got to start them but buckle up baby and grab them tissues bc these books will have you rolling on the floor laughing. You will be screaming at the bad guys and jumping up and down cheering for the good guys and yes you will need plenty of tissues bc you will cry some tears of sadness. I recommend all Quinn’s books they are truly amazing!

Where do I begin? This one kinda got to me in a way all the others didn't. Obviously nothing has hit as hard as Vasile and Alina but there was something in this one, I can't give spoilers, that hurt the heart and made my stomach hurt. There was so much witty banter, as always. I'll never grow tired of the fun conversations and feelings of deep family/friend bonds. I can't wait til Alston is finished. He's been allowed to live for too long. Jen and Dec have been through so much. As have Sally and Costin. Jaque and Fane. All of the pack. But they always rise above. ❤️

I was a huge fan of this series and Quinn Loftis as a writer until this book was released. I’ve tried several sites to get this book so I can continue the series to no avail. I’m giving this review because I am seriously disappointed in the author’s lack of concern about her readers and the ease of access to her books. I won’t be reading anything further from Ms. Loftis and I will be removing her from my follow list on all book platforms as of today. Sorry Quinn but you’ve made it too difficult to even attempt to read your work.

This book will set a new standard for future books. Once again, Quinn manages to shock us speechless and send us howling with the pack simultaneously. The hybrid Rule will pull you in and have you questioning what good and bad truly mean and which side are you on. You never know what will happen when Quinn is in the drivers seat. So buckle up and take notes because the rules have officially changed.

Quinn, you are amazing! I have missed your characters! Super busy in my life. This book has all the things! I am amazed and always left hungry for more of your words.... does this make me a literary vampire?? Hmmm... need to think about that, lol. Fane is definitely growing into his role as Alpha, and His Luna is stronger than ever. There is so much healing and surprises instore for anyone who reads this series. Looking forward to the next book!

nice surprise twist

I didn't think after the death of Fane's parents, this series would be able to continue with credibility and the enemies like surely there will be a time when there will be no book because the end is done. I don't see this happening until the young cubs are grown. I really liked surprise twist and the different aspects coming into Play now, keeping you entertained and on your toes.

The world is changing but is it a good change or a not so good one? Quinn has absolutely floored me with this book! I adore how she adds new to the story, and boy is it NEW, but also brings us back to our original trio that we love so much. I'm especially loving Jacque in this book! It just keeps getting better and better, and you won't want to miss this one!

Quinn always keeps me on the edge of my seat with her books. I never know what is going to happen or who is to randomly make an appearance. The Hybrid Rule did not disappoint. I had to set the book down a couple of times to get control of my emotions. This is Book 18 so if you want to read it please make sure to read the 17 before it first.

Quinn never disappoints, and she certainly didn’t with this next installment in the Grey Wolves series. I loved getting to know some of newer characters/mates and catch up with some of the OG characters, too. This book had a great balance of humor and seriousness, and I was left wanting more. I can’t wait for the next one!

Another page-turner from Quinn. In this newest novel of The Grey Wolves Series, we find an evil (or is he?) vampire trying to create vampire/werewolf hybrids. Will he succeed or will he be stopped in time to save our heroine? Will he create a new breed of supernatural? Will love save the day? Jump back into the world of the Grey Wolves and find out!

Another first class read from Quinn Loftis. This book is a little grey (no pun intended) in the other books of the series it’s very black and white good guys versus bad guys, & whilst this book start their same I found myself not hating Cain quite as much as I would usually do. Well worth a read. Thank you.
