‘Reading these books is like cuddling up beneath a warm blanket. They are just so enthralling.’
The summer regatta is in full swing, but this isn't the most highly anticipated event in the local social calendar. The wedding of the year is only days away, and romance is in the air for everyone … until a body washes up.
Was it a tragic accident?
No, probably not.
Following on from her recent sleuthing successes, the islanders expect Reverend Jess Ward to solve the mystery. But in a race to find the truth, will she be forced to accept her family’s supernatural past? Can she crack this case without embracing her own mystical, pagan side?
I’ve enjoyed this series, and reading out of order I didn’t realise i had read them all. I do hope there will be some more of this excellent series. 4 1/2.
A fun, yet sad story. One of the regatta visitors has washed up on the beach. Despite the fact that Rev. Jess is supposed to be helping with 'the wedding of the century', she and her gift are called to help figure out what happened. Like the others in the series, I really enjoyed this one. The characters are developing more depth with each book, and interactions are often comical. The series, though murder mysteries, are lighthearted and fun to read.
Jessamy Ward has trouble accepting the gift as she is slowly taking over from Cindy wether she likes it or not but what’s a washed up female body got to do with her anyway? Determined not to investigate ,how long can she keep away and to what end? Really enjoying this series and the relationships that are developing in the isle of Wesberrey
Does make a person wonder.... Why on Earth are so many murders happening on a small island when none had been happening for decades prior to Jessamy Ward's return? A pretty pickle of a dilemma, really. Will paganism and Christianity clash? Or can some sort of balance be achieved for this vicar? Loving this series so much!
Another hygge tale and interesting murder mystery. I was looking forward to seeing Jess embrace her powers more and the island get ready for the big wedding and neither disappointed. This sequel introduced some new characters who will hopefully stick around and some interesting teasers for what comes next, another enjoyable read.
This series and its characters are just getting better. A vicar who struggles with her pagan and Christian sides. A large loving family and supportive friends make for a great cast then add in a mystery and it makes a perfect read
This book has it all, it'll make you laugh, it provides food for thought, it'll make you sad, and above all, you'll enjoy it so much that you'll be anxiously awaiting for the following book in the series! I thank the author for the ARC.
Barbara and Phill are getting married! The regatta is in full swing. The body of a young woman is found in the ocean nearby. Part of a party on a boat visiting for the aregatta. How did she die? Great story!
This is book five of this series of a sleuthing female Vicar. The characters are like my friends now and I can't wait to start book 6 to see what their next adventure is.
