Muses That Align Us

Rate this book
Forced from their homes, fleeing a wave of destruction, how far will they go to uncover their fates…

Reeling from shocking revelations into her past, Kayda voyages to the Southern desert city, Joria. Just when the answers she craves are within her grasp, Kayda is thrust into a new adventure in the Sul Waste, and even her dragon can’t save her from the perils that lurk there.

Despite the changes forced upon him, Conall’s still dead set on locating his sister, Lark. That quest leads him on a hunt for a mystic through the icy Northern land of Doln, where the treacherous weather is the least of his worries.

Inspired by her glimpse of Kayda while fleeing the scourge, Lark is determined to conquer her earth magic and return to fight. Her performer friends insist scouring the Raimire jungle will yield answers, but in a land teeming with dangers, that might be a hard act to pull off.

Back in Dracwood, all that remains is a city of refugees with monsters clawing at their defenses. Will they return in time, or will the land they love fall to ruin…

We had the same POVs from the first book- Conall, Lark and Kayda. The prologue and epilogue had new POVs- which were great addition to the book. Again the epilogue has me questioning everything.

I love the found family that each character is experiencing. Lark and her found family is so heartwarming. Kayda is starting to get some amazing friends throughout her travels- I love can’t wait to see where they take her. I enjoyed getting more information about her family. Conall and his bondmate probably had the hardest journey during this book but the reunion was so very worth the hardship.

I love that all three main characters are finally together. I am so excited for the third book as everything from this book is leading up to it- can’t wait for the rest of the secrets to be shared.

This book was just as good as the first if not better. Lark is on her journey to learn and adapt to her powers with her new friends/family. She not only wants to find her brother, but also has a drive to find someone who will teach her how to draw on her power of healing along with her bonded friend.
Kayda is a force to be reckoned with. Now that she is bonded to her dragon and is leaning more about her family. She travels to the waste land with her newfound friend and ship mate. He is from the waste land and helps her be a part of the tribe. She has to prove to the leader who she is in a very disturbing and exciting way. Had me freaking out the whole time because I do not like spiders. As she learns more and more about who she really is and where she comes from, the store gets more interesting.
Conall is on his journey to learn more about himself and how to draw on his power. He is quite stubborn, hurt, and angry which blocks him from learning how to be a mage. He finally realizes that the only way he is going to find his sister is drop the anger and try his best to use his power and to draw on it. The journey he takes with Delyth is extreme, but he does get his answers in the end.
Towards the end, all the fabulous characters meet up. Lark and Conall find each other, which is good but not the end. The whole story starts to come together more and more.
I want you to know that this book captivated me and drew me in from the first few pages. So adventurous and exciting. It was very hard for me to write this review without giving away too much information or a spoiler. The magic, love and determination to find out who you are, learn the magic you need and to keep the ones you love safe is phenomenal. This is a must read. If you have read the first book, don’t stop there because you will not be disappointed.

4.5/5 ⭐️

This book was so good, the first one was a great introduction but this books was simply amazing. Returning to the world was so amazing. I loved that we got to see some of the mysteries from book 1 be answered and at the same time be given more mysteries that you didn’t even see coming. I loved how we went back to the main characters POV’s and how we got some a glimpse into the minds of new characters.

As I said before the first book was a great introduction to this world but this book made me care so much about the characters, more than I even thought possible. Sometimes it felt like I was there with them, feeling what they were felling and seeing what they were seeing which is a feeling I don’t get often with books. Seeing the found family slowly form through the book truly warmed my heart and the moment the three stories connected made me scream internally from happiness. I also loved to see the different culture of the places they visited and seeing all the new people they meet in the way. I really wish I was a part of this world and be able to experience the cultures, the travels, the crazy trials, and hopefully have a bond mate like they had.

I can’t wait to read the final book and see the gang again and see where the story ends because right now it is going in an absolutely wonderful direction. This author has definitely joined my list of must read author and I can’t wait to see what else they write.

Being able to manipulate elemental magic is cool....but I want bonding magic! To soar on a dragon, have a wolf at my side, or a falcon watching over me......okay well, considering how little I like heights and don't even like step stools, maybe just the wolf or falcon lol.
Absolutely wonderful story, which I have so enjoyed reading! The main characters, which traveled to the far corners of the world, converge together, led by Fate, and now rush headlong to their destiny. The places they've visited are vivid and amazing....although I never ever ever want to visit the Waste and face what Kayda had too 😳 That is the stuff of nightmares I may never recover from lol. Their trials, losses, and joys make the characters very relatable and you can't help cheering for them, wanting to hold a hand in solidarity, hug them in sympathy, or occasionally shake them and scream "Are you out of your mind?!"
Absolutely wonderful series!

This series keeps getting better and better! I absolutely loved exploring each character more in depth, and seeing their journeys to discover more about themselves.

I also love that we get more world building! It was awesome reading about Joria, the Sul Wastes, Doln, and Raimire 😍 also THE SIDE CHARACTERS!! I literally love them all, in this book we get a lot more Aren/Lark interaction and I just love Jayan❤️

This book really does such an amazing job of expanding off the first book, and it really starts to piece together the story and just how everyone connects. I just loved it!!
This book is perfect for you if you love:
⭐️DRAGONS!🐉
⭐️Magic!
⭐️Adventures
⭐️Lovable characters!
⭐️Strong animal companionship

Can’t wait to read Book 3!!

I'm already sad that this is a trilogy because that means there is only one book left! Ahhh! The epic fantasy continues and I am in love with how detailed the world is. There is a smidge of romance in the plot, but this is basically an epic adventure full of risky quests, magical battles, and endearing characters that keep you turning the page and wanting more. I was knocked off my feet by the first book and the second book is not disappointing. I can't wait to see what Amber L Werner writes next!

Amber did it again and even better! I plowed through Shadows and even more through Muses. The characters have now become family and meeting the new parts of the puzzle was stimulating!

Its a puzzle that awakens your brain as you go through adventures waiting for the pieces to fall into place! Its all very exciting.

Amber is a truly talented story weaver. I am going straight to Palisade 3. Its going to be hard to say goodbye to these characters!

This 2nd book in the trilogy is just as action pact as the 1st. The story continues with our three hero’s all fighting for the same thing without truly knowing the others are out there.
Like with any trilogy the 2nd book answers questions from the first while adding in new ones to be answered in the next. I was reaching for the 3rd book as soon as I finished this one. The scenes we get with the characters falling in love had me kicking my feet like a little girl.

A thrilling second installment of the Palisade Trilogy!

As always, I love Amber's beautifully descriptive and emotional writing that brings everything and everyone to life.

It's the people that make this book, the characters who live in the pages. I loved their friendships, found family, different perspectives, and getting an insight into how the various communities in this fantasy world live. There's a wonderful moment when several storylines and people converge that was my highlight of the story.

second book in, and I can't get enough! Conall, Kayda, and Lark have become characters im attached to, including those they are bonded to. A wolf, hawk, and dragon. what a trio. They are still searching for answers and trying to find a way to end the scourge, but I can't wait to see what happens now that they have come together in a group. Will there be more help? more secrets uncovered? im on the edge of my seat!

Second book in the Palisade Trilogy. I think I finished this in four or five days as an audiobook. Great continuance in the story. I loved when the mains all ended up converging. It was very heart-warming and at the same time heartbreaking. Loved the little loves and friendships that have developed along the way. Loved the mains discovering and harnessing their talent. Excited for the finale.

Second book in the Palisade Trilogy (its the sequel of Shadows that bind us), I was glad to be able to be part of each stories ARC team. I thoroughly enjoyed this as it gave us the same POV's as the first book however there was also new POV. The dynamic between each character flows simply and their found family is beautiful. I cannot wait to read the third book!

This book is really starting to tie together and solve some of mystery from the first book in the series, yet still creating mystery and new questions! I can’t wait to see how this story wraps up in the final book! A quickish read with some amazing characters! They’ve really been developing in their strengths, powers, and relationships this book. Consider me fully invested!!!

This was a good set up for the finale. Generally, second books aren’t as exciting, but this book kept up the tension, explaining some things, while also leaving us with a cliff hanger. Ready for book three!

This is a solid second book. I didn't expect the very end, but I wouldn't say it was unpredictable. Still a story to enjoy though, as we follow our 3 MCs through their troubles as they look to respond to the scourge.

Muses that align us is the sequel of Shadows that bind us. I preferred Muses that align us.
We knew more about the three main characters which allowed me to connect even more with them. There is a good found family vibes. I also loved the interactions between the main characters and their bond mates. Half way through the book, there were more actions, and I liked the direction the book took and how it’s turning. I liked having some Aren – Lark time.
I can’t wait to read about some characters meeting again and how the battle will happen.

Muse

This second book in this trilogy is as good if not better than the first. The characters have all grown more into their roles. They are brave and willing to fight for their country. The world building is even more incredible than that of the the first book. So far I am loving this trilogy. An absolute recommend. Now on to the final book!
