I gave this book a really fair shot. It's a debut author, and even though I pretty much never like first person present tense writing, the writing itself wasn't bad so I pushed through. Eventually I was able to get into the story enough that the tense didn't bother me. I feel like every new omegaverse book that comes out, people say it's the "new Lola & the millionaires" which was my absolute favorite read of 2022 (I read it four times!) so anytime people say this, I have to at least give it a try.
What went right for me? I like the premise. I like two omegas bucking tradition and society norms to be together. They love each other's scents and the rest of the pack feels the same so why should anyone care? I like that twist. I like that there is m/m because I almost exclusively read m/m lately unless I dip back into omegaverse or RH. I like that although the rest of the pack is nervous about another omega, no one is outright against it. I'm not a fan of a lot of inter-relationship angst so I appreciate this.
What went wrong? I absolutely adore long books because I'm a fast reader & I want a really fleshed out story. But this story really needed a heavy edit to take out all the extraneous fluff. We didn't need to read the same explanations and descriptions and character traits over and over. Everything in a book should move the plot forward, but I was feeling really bogged down. One mistake a lot of authors of omegaverse & RH make is making cookie cutter characters, and then giving them no depth. Making each character feel like an individual when there are so many is incredibly important. Putting them in boxes marked "nerdy girl who likes monster porn books" and "nerdy gamer creator" and "scary tattooed marshmallow guy" and then giving them no personality beyond the stereotypes that readers would just plug in is lazy and surface. Nothing about those characters was unique or made me want to know them; they could be replaced with carbon copies from tons of other omegaverse or RH books, and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.
I wanted to like this because I want the "next Lola". But this wasn't it. The writing itself was not bad so with a good editor and more practice, I think this author could really produce something great. But I couldn't slog thru this anymore.

I was just looking for why choose romances with more than one woman and a handful of men, so I was pleasantly surprised that this omegaverse has one female omega, one male omega, one female alpha, two male alphas, and a male beta. We get MM, MF, FF, MMF, MFM, MMFM, MFFMMM. Just think: if there's an orifice, it'll be filled. lol.
This was a really sweet omegaverse. In terms of relationship development, it's fast paced. The characters go from strangers to in-love really quickly which wasn't really my cup of tea. Plot wise, it's slow. The main conflict is lightly sprinkled in the first 80% of the book before it comes to a head.
The writing was a touch repetitive. There's also a lot of fluff in here. I wish we spent more time seeing Ripley get to know the Kingston pack rather than the time jumps we got in the beginning. We see that she spends X amount of time at their house hanging out and bonding, but we don't get to see it and I feel like that would've made the difference in making their relationships more compelling. It would've been much more intriguing if their relationships didn't all start so early so there's something more to look forward to in the end.
Overall, I think this was a fun omegaverse. I struggled a little bit to remain interested, but I really liked how unique two omegas, one female alpha, two male alphas and a beta in one pack is. Plus the smut is abundant. I think if you like books that focus on slice of life, this could be for you!

Way too much Ripley
DP and DVP so those are automatic wins for me. Very brief and scant MM which is a shame. The real tragedy is how much Ripley there is in this book. My love of the Alien movies aside, her name is stupid and doesn't fit her. She joins a pre-existing pack of five people- four men and one woman- and becomes the whole focus. The book is told in multiple pov but everyone is thinking about Ripley. We're told repeatedly that the other five love each other but you wouldn't know it by how little they actually interact with each other without Ripley. There are no scenes without Ripley with the other five where they aren't talking about Ripley. It made them all very one-dimensional. We never learn anything about this pack as a whole or who they are as individuals. Partway through, we find out one of the alphas only engages in physical acts with one other person in the pack, and now of course with Ripley because we cannot go more than five sentences without mentioning her. This is an interesting piece of the pack dynamic which is, of course, completely random since I had already forgotten that character even existed in this book. He, and the beta, are both very small background players. The FF gets more attention than the MM or even any of the group scenes, of which there are only a few and are also Ripley-centered.

Omegaverse
Wasn't my favorite omegaverse, but still very enjoyable. I liked the storyline, and the characters. I think the sec scenes is what really turned me completely off here, not that it was gross or anything. But it just didn't seem to find it as hot or spicy. It just read awkward and cheesy. The defy talk was horrible, the pet names? Cringy. I found myself completely skipping about all sexual encounters. And that's pretty much a lot of the book

February 18, 2023This was a fun and unique concept for the first 40%. Nico and Syn were my favourite alphas and I loved how Ripley and River's connection was the foundation for the rest of the romances.
That said, there was far too much filler. Even the smut got tedious, and I lost interest once I realised the plot was going nowhere fast.

This book was so bad it turned into a hate read.
First things first: what kind of POC representation is Syn? There was obviously not much research by this white author on black/poc characters and if there was it was poorly executed. Down to the comparisons to food like items and poor understanding of black hair descriptions it was just all bad. The scene where Ripley is telling Syn she loves her hair? Was so clearly micro aggressive that it was actually painful. The black family dynamics in the book? The descriptions of black people in general. Huhhhhhhh are you serious?
Secondly: The pacing? I saw the major point of action happening from the first maybe 20% of the book. So why does it happen within the last 4 chapters? And the casual murder? That’s completely not like the character at all are you kidding me. Then it’s just simply brushed over? Okay sure fine. This book could be cut up and rearranged and the plot would be the exact same and just barely a little more tolerable than whatever this was
Lastly: The last thing that definitely differentiated this book from a two star read to a one star read is the last minute epilogue baby. F them kids. Like it might be your thing but it’s not mine especially when it’s not fleshed out appropriately! Like maybe tease the baby talk earlier in the book? Prep me for an epilogue baby like dear god.
Despite this there was good potential in the book. I read bad books all the time. This just happens to be one of them. If you have no knowledge of POC (or a specific race in particular) maybe have a couple of beta readers from that group? Hot take. Every great once in a while I stumble across a book from an author I’ve never heard of and take a chance on it and have it blow me away.
I devoured this book. It was so sweet and sexy and captivating.
I loved the different dynamics in this book, by my favorite (probably like many others) has to be the love between our two omegas. It just really really worked for me and I love this family.
If you like sweet Omegaverse and reverse harem this is a must read.
There is lots of MM, FF and every configuration you can think of. Cuddles, whining, growing, purring, heats, nesting- just everything we love about Omegaverse books.
Kind of reminiscent of Nicki and the Night Owls but even sweeter and less gender fluidity.
Love love love, totally recommend.

What really makes this book pop is the writing! KL Moore has a way with words that just pulls you right in. Every scene is so vividly painted, and you can feel all the emotions swirling around. Plus, the way polyamory is explored is super refreshing and totally relatable. It’s like you’re right there with the characters, feeling all the ups and downs of their complex relationships!
And let me tell you, listening to the audiobook was a total game-changer! The narrators were on fire, bringing these characters to life in such a fun and engaging way. They totally nailed the raw emotions and those steamy moments, making the story even more enjoyable!
Just a heads up, though—if you’re not a fan of spice, you might want to skip this one. The FF/MM scenes are a big part of the plot and really ramp up the romance factor. But if you’re ready for some heat, then dive right in! You won’t regret it!

May 27, 2025I tried to finish It, I promise. Coz this cast is so delicious, and it’s duet. But I’m giving up at 59%. It’s unnecessary long at 18 hours, and absolutely nothing happens in this book. First few chapters are interesting, promising even. But then it’s same thing over and over again, she flirts with another pack member, they bang, all is good, next one.

This was... different. LOL.
So, it's been a long, long while since I read anything Omegaverse and all the new intricacies are; well... new to me, so you can only imagine I kept expecting this lovely group of people to shift into whatever animal and they never did so I was slightly confused but hey, they still had fun, amiright?
This book was entertaining and funny. It does touch on some current topics in very clever ways and it was overall cute, with a good twist at the end. I HIGHLY recommend the audiobook, the narration was A++++++ and the spice was XXX rated but all in all, it was a fun read.

I can appreciate the amount of work that goes into putting a book out there. It's a real achievement and the author should feel proud of themselves for doing it. That said, this book could have done with more work - that's entirely my perspective, others will feel differently because reading is a personal and subjective experience.
If you want spice then wow this book is definitely for you. So much spice. All the spice. I read a lot of spicy books and love them, although this story felt like like extended s3x scenes - whole chapters one after the other - with character and plot development added as optional extras on the side. You know, the garnish that you push to the side because the main event is going on. But hey, at some point the decision was made that s3x sells and they really went for it. Other than a bit of discussion about the omegaverse and what that entails, you could have turned the characters into multi-millionaires and you would have had a very active why choose story instead.
I also realised very late in the piece that some of the characters were POC. There were a couple of throwaway lines of caramel skin and curly hair that didn't get a chance to register properly. Should the mocha scene have indicated something as well? It didn't register with me because everyone's scents are so specific that it was lost in the mix. Some sensitivity readers could have been a real help in this aspect. Easy for me to say from the cheap seats I know, but it feels like a real lost opportunity here.
I would have loved to have seen more character development. Each alpha/beta/omega had a hobby, and wow the new omega has all those hobbies! She has a loving family, one of the alpha doesn't, so the new omega gives a long talk at the table about how love is love and maybe we can all be chill. Obligatory bad guy is bad, there are then multiple spicy chapters, plot development at the 85% mark in the book and then ... and then? Huh.
This book felt like a slog. I never thought I'd found myself taking a workmanlike approach to reading that much spice to push through and see if anything else was going to happen. I mean, the bad guy had been flagged very early on, so I was wondering if they were all going to stop shagging long enough to actually deal with some conflict. Or maybe get some electroytes and something to deal with the omega's inevitable UTI, or do some laundry and mop up all the slick because ... ew.
I read a lot of romance and spice, but this one felt like a bit of a chore to get to the expected ending. It's not a book that provokes strong feelings, and I'm reluctant to yuck someone else's yum. My personal view is that this is not a great book. It's also not a bad book. It's just something that could have been more. That said, the writing voice is good and I'd be willing to bet that they had a ball writing it. At the end of the day they've got a book out in the world with their name on it, and that's something to feel happy about.

DNF @ 29%. I like the idea of this book, two omegas being into each other, but it's executed poorly.
The author skipped over their entire relationship growing in a paragraph about how they'd been chatting for weeks getting to know each other, and then we're supposed to be happy with smutty scraps? I read romance novels for the ROMANCE and if I don't get to watch it develop, what's the point?
Waaay too much telling instead of showing, irrelevant details thrown in at random times, repeating character traits in list form for every character multiple times, characters with no distinct personalities or back stories, lots of stupid nicknames that make no sense whatsoever (why is he randomly calling her "little bird" from the very first meeting? nicknames need reasons), very amateurish writing that desperately needs an editor.

When I started this book, I started questioning whether my attention span has become that of the clichéd goldfish, because the book is long and I didn't want to commit to it. I'd start, stop; start, get something more interesting to do with my time, stop. I should have just listened to my gut because about a half of this book is not needed.
It is just repetition, filler and then smut to fill out the book. The characters also weren't that deep. It was a basic Alpha, Beta, Omega mix, diverse in race and partner preferences, then the typical gamer, lawyer, artist etc job groups.
The book is long and for its length, it actually isn't memorable. Nothing, apart from the intial Omega-Omega pairing is actually new/different if you've extensively read ABO books.

Ripley isn't amongst my favourite Omega's as she was also very whinny. Very slow-burn, and I thought the villain plot was a little disjointed and not well meshed, but I enjoyed the overall journey and how sweet it was.

Narration: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is not my first Omegaverse, but this is the first I’ve read that has more than one omega in a pack and it was intriguing! The story progresses quickly in the beginning where Ripley’s unique situation comes to light. Once the courting begins, we get to know Ridley with each of the mates she is fated for. It’s not all sunshine and daisies though, there is resistance and judgement in their world because of their relationship, but the overarching theme is love is love. However that love may be in danger from an unknown source who crops up unwanted and unexpected.
Switch Heater was a throughly spicy why choose, but carries an abundance of love and support throughout the book. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters, seeing how each interact with each other and how the bonding would occur. There is a lot of time progression throughout the story much of it we get a lot of detail, but there are some things that are skimmed over.
Ripley has wanted a pack her whole life, it seems like fate finally brought her what and who she has always craved. Being surrounded by love and support, being taken care of, is her dream come true. But Ripley is a much stronger omega than anyone could have imagined. She is put in an unimaginable situation and rather than wait for someone else to take care of it, she does it herself.
What a stellar cast of narrators! Each of them were brilliant in their roles for each character. Jacob Morgan does such a great job bringing out the bratty, needy omega, River. Dane Anderson has the growliest voice I think I’ve ever heard which paired great with Nico’s vibe. I’m pretty sure I’m now in love with Ehlen Valentine because of her sultry voice as Syn. Corvin King is rapidly moving up my favorite narrator list; he made the Best Kian! James Cassidy has an amazing range and was killing it all the way through this audiobook as Knight! And Stella Hunter as Ripley, my gosh! She is top tier. Her voice and skill pulls you in and holds you captivated until the end. Each and every one of these amazing voice actors gave an outstanding performance that had me devouring nearly eighteen hours of audio in two days. They were THAT good!

So this was my very first omegaverse book/audiobook and I wasn’t disappointed 😆 I was actually surprised.
The audiobook was absolutely incredible in multicast/duet.

So the story starts out with the main fmc-Ripley who is at the omega center which is like a college for omegas. It’s her 21st birthday and she’s the only one that’s not bonded yet. At the graduation ceremony she’s pretty down about it but catches a few scents that have her going wild. There’s Syn who is an alpha and Kian who is a beta. She’s also confused because one of those scents belong to a bonded omega who is part of Syn’s pack. It’s kind of unheard of for omegas to bond to omegas.
I don’t want to give too much but as the story continues, Ripley finds her pack and who she is. There is also a villain of course. It’s a rollercoaster of heightened emotions.
The narrators did an absolutely amazing job as each character by bringing the emotions that the reader can feel and making the voices easily to distinguish each character.
I really wanted to give the story 5 stars but I wish it had a little more story to it because there was a ton of spice. (Not that I minded the spicy scenes because boy was it 🥵)
The author also did a good job about making sure the omegaverse terms were described for the reader, which I appreciated.

I think this was the first time I was willing to DNF a book at 85%. This was up and down for me. I liked Ripley and the pack, they were sweet and there weren't really any issues between them. It was insta match, resist and then the omega getting the girl until the rest jumped on board. It was a sex fest with the Victor is a threat pop up thrown up again, before its forgotten for more sex and family bonding. The nicknames were a constant, and the only time I did like them was with Kian banning them.
River was clingy so it was omega heavy with the alphas wrestling to get attention. The bit I wanted to DNF was the its all okay not being stalked anymore lets go party with no alphas. That's where I stopped and considered if I wanted to continue or not. I did and I regret it. Predictably, she gets drugged and kidnapped and taken to Victor. Cue the beatings and threats, along with the where is she panic. I did like that she took care of things herself, but it did feel like the kidnapping was just there to introduce/rescue a new character and the whole killed a guy thing. Then the end with pregnancy. I liked the characters and the courting. I should've DNF'd. Fave character was Nico.

I give up. The premise had been super intriguing, but I can’t take it anymore. The dialogue feels unnatural, and it’s like every trope is slammed in, every stereotype as well. Really could use some editing too. I would have looked past the punctuation and grammar mistakes if the story delivered. But it didn’t.

This is a multicast narration and they do a fantastic job!
MMMMFF poly omegaverse. I believe I got that right, lol. Basically everyone screws everyone! This was my first FF in a why choose. This was a very spicy read no real plot so don’t expect that it’s just a spicy good time!
