Fantasy author under various sub-genres. I love writing morally grey heroes, complex character romances, and found families while elevating lgbtqia voices
five stars because I spent so long writing this book and hope it to be worthy of love.
I won't ramble how I feel about it, but this book is DARK EPIC FANTASY, therefore will have elements that aren't for everyone. If you experience discomfort when reading about any of the following subjects, then this book will not be one I recommend picking up. This is a high fantasy series, NOT a fantasy romance. If romance is required in your reads, I would not recommend picking this up (though the relationships do happen as a subplot starting in book three).
Trigger Warnings are as follows:
* Sexual content (all consensual, multiple partners, mention of genitalia, nudity) * Violence (standard fantasy violence - gore, blood, murder, body horror, mutilation of corpses) * Slavery (very brief in the beginning, and then mentioned in conversations later) * Bigotry (brief situation) * Violence against children (brief situation, non-sexual) / Child death * Abuse (emotional) * Cults * Alcoholism (brief/implied) * Rats (giant rat-like creatures are relevant throughout the whole series - if rats make you uncomfy, I wouldn't recommend this series)
However if you love:
* Video games like: Skyrim, Dungeons & Dragons, Dragon Age, and Baldur's Gate 3 * Epic stories/quests/battles like Lord of the Rings * Queernorm worlds/queer representation in characters and future relationships (nonbinary, bi, asexual, aromantic, gay, sapphic) * Long series (there will be 8) * Morally grey heroes like Guardians of the Galaxy * Found family like in Six of Crows * Grimdark worlds like Game of Thrones, Witcher, or Warhammer Fantasy * Multiple POVs (5+) like in Six of Crows or Game of Thrones * Low spice (there will be hints of it but never too explicit) * Vampires (not the sparkly kind) * Horror elements in fantasy (think horror movies like The Ritual or The Hallow) * Dragons (but they're gods so only hints of them throughout the series) * Vast worldbuilding like with any high fantasy series
"There was no more urges, no more quiet hunger lodged between his lungs. Still, he thought as he turned to the Misfits, why does it still feel like something is wrong?"
Mayhem, mystery, murder, and misfits are what await you when you stumble into the kingdom created by Jordan Dugdale in The Tidings of Misfits. Okay, and me not knowing that is is labeled as science fiction only is entirely on me - considering, it's a genre that I ALWAYS have trouble reading. But, as much as it wasn't my cup of tea, it wasn't a waste of time - it did have a few solid good points that made it worth my while to read it till the end. And, ending on the cliffhanger that it did and having me intrigued with the futures for one or two of the characters has piqued my interest enough to keep an eye out for the sequel. 😊
Through strange and unforseen circumstances, our five main misfits - Cassius, Rooster, Intoh, Linda, Helai - band together to form an unlikely alliance as they travel together to reach the city of Volendam, to unearth the dark secrets and strange conspiracies that befall their kingdom. Each has an unsavory past that they're running from, each of them in the hunt for the chance of creating a better safer future for themselves, escaping from the imprisonment in which they crossed paths in first place.
Unique characters with interesting personalities, I did find myself intrigued with how each of them behaved in certain situations and how they slowly started to open up with each other and trust in sharing their feelings and thoughts about everything. Helai, being the only girl in the group, was strong and confident and fierce in her actions, and I liked the interactions she shared with the other two lizards (yes, you read correct), Linda and Intoh. I also enjoyed how Cassius, the immortal vampire, started to develop a strong bond with the human warrior, Rooster, and acknowledge his judgments and views.
“I am the master of relaxing. You should know this.”
Laughter slipped past her lips, and she looked at him with a teasing judgment. “Your ineptitude is acceptable because I love you.”
Cassius definitely caught my eye the most (yes, vampires are my weakness) and it pained me that as much as he needed blood to survive, he always tried to feed away from the group - even if they tried to assist him in his endeavors. My heart hurt for him that even with all his immortal years, he was still yearning to find a love that he could connect with - someone to share a bit of real affection, a deep connection with. 😢😢
He also has the strongest ties to the cult-like machinations that were plaguing their city, being the chosen perfect candidate as a sacrifice to revive Gorvayne, the dragon that served as a source for all vampires special powers. It was an unexpected twist I didn't see coming, and it makes me curious to see what else is in store for him and his gang of oddballs in the foreseeable future.
My one grievance though would have to be that did we really need to have five multiple povs?? Yes, I know it has to be fair to respect each character's history and train of thought, but, surely, there could have been another way to do so - writing techniques do have that, don't they?? I would start a chapter and then have to go back to see whose point of view we were getting this time around and it made it even harder when we would have multiple chapters dedicated to one particular pov. It had started off pretty strong with just Cassius' storyline, but as it deviated to the others - the story just got more jumbled for me. 🤷
And another thing - why, oh why, did the menace of the story have to be rats, like 🤢 *shivers* Just reading the misfits' encounters with giant sized rats aka the draken was enough to give me the creeps, especially with how much detail went into describing them and the pivotal part they actually do serve to the overall storyline. Rodents and I have a bad experience! *shudders again*
As for the writing style - it was alright - nothing too flamboyant, and nothing too irritating that made me pick errors out here and there. The story was flowing, despite my qualms with the constant disruption in character train of thought, and as it is my nature, I must find out the conclusion, even if it pains me to do so. 😆
Still, despite its flaws, it was a somewhat decent read - I do feel I have to be more careful when I decide what to read, but the cover was so artistically appealing, I decided to take a leap. I did not fall, but it's left me suspended in mid-air, not so eagerly awaiting the sequel, but tempting enough to keep an eye out for it. ✨✨✨
Please give this author a round of applause , the world building was on point. The way she describes everything so perfectly that I could see the city in the caverns, smell the air in the villages and feel the energy the entire time. Her world building in the caverns reminded me so much of lord of the rings. The story follows a literal band of misfits who honestly wouldn't be caught dead together if it wasn’t for the unfortunate circumstances that led them to one another and to work towards a common goal. Id also like to acknowledge the authors mentions of gender pronouns and how amazing Linda is. The comic banter in the group keeps it entertaining while the plot is much darker and even Erie at times. This book was absolutely fantastic. Not only is this book packed with action from start to finish but you get to enter a world filled with dwafs, dragons, cultists, mermaids, centaur, vampires and so much more. The magical system in the book is extremely unique as well as the different cultures you get to learn about though out. This isn’t a book filled with spice but rather war and mischief. I highly recommend this book
𝐀𝐍 𝐔𝐍𝐋𝐈𝐊𝐄𝐋𝐘 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐘… While on their own quests in different parts of the continent, they were captured to be sold into slavery. When an ever-growing horde of giant rats seek to eliminate the world, this band of misfits escapes and works together to stay alive and save their world.
𝐀 𝐃𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐄𝐏𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄… If you’re an avid fantasy reader, or you’re a big ol’ nerd and play D&D like me, please read this book! I could see myself within the story playing as each of the characters’ POV. Sometimes they rolled a natural 20, other times they rolled a natural 1. There is a lot of world building, and mysteries within every character. Overall, I truly and thoroughly enjoyed the Misfits and their story! It’s chock full of battle, mysteries, lovable characters, and heartwarming moments. I am excited to see where the adventures will lead them in the rest of the series.
I had the absolute pleasure to be an ARC reader for Jordan’s debut novel and the first of this fantastical series. I got to chat with her a few times, and she is just the sweetest person! 🥰 A big huge thanks and shoutout to @jordandugdaleauthor for letting me snag a spot for this ARC.
despite me taking literally FOREVER to read this, i really ended up enjoying this world and the characters in it!
the tidings of misfits consists of FIVE different character povs.. yes i said five. and let me tell you, the author writes each character beautifully and creates such a complex world that will keep you interested as it moves from character to character and gives insight to their stories!
i personally thought the five povs was going to be a bit much at first, but i really ended up liking it and it is written so well that i didn’t find myself getting lost during the pov switches.
this story follows intoh, cassius, rooster, helai, and linda. this group will eventually band together in search of a town called volendam, which holds many mysteries that the misfits attempt to uncover. volendam is full of secrets, and *small spoiler* continues to have secrets even at the end of the book.
my favorite character was definitely cassius, the vampire of the group, but i kept calling him cassian for the longest time just because i’m so used to acotar and the characters from that world 😭
i haven’t read anything like this before, but this book was super cool and i can’t wait to start the next one :)
Anyway most anticipated read for 2023 get ready for a journey beyond just “fun”. Found family, queer characters, and action galore!
Serious review below — No spoilers! :D
As someone who has read pieces of this story through every stage of its creation (first draft, second draft, edits, conversations about the book bc Jordy can’t stop talking about it) I don’t have a shadow of a doubt that this novel deserves the universe’s praise. I have provided counsel about foreshadow, description, showing instead of telling, and the like because some of the future plot twists and character journeys are truly exceptional.
I have always wanted more and more queer characters featured within mainstream fantasy books because I know of their upmost importance to the community. In being seen and heard. Linda’s journey of self-actualization and discovery regarding gender expression is exquisite, and *far* from being complete. Of course I won’t spoil a thing, but the future romances/ships within this story are something to root for, something to find comfort in.
Jordan knows how to write a complete and gripping plot, whether its a fight scene or an intense transition of dialogue that insights further action. They know how to write in different tones: horror, grief, reflection.
And finally — found family, the most prevalent trope in the book. The interactions between the Misfits is some of the most fun you’ll have in a while. You’ll laugh, you’ll sigh in frustration, but I hope you’ll grin at their shenanigans the most. These characters have no reason to like each other, but that’s what will make their eventual bond so special.
There is and will always be so much more to this story. If I have not convinced any readers of my review to pick up this series then I have failed. I think The Whispered Tales series will be one of the most praised, genuine stories of our generation and it would be a dishonor to miss it.
First off, I'd like to thank you, Jordan, for giving me the opportunity to snag an ARC copy of this book!
Let us begin!
This being Jordan's debut book is unbelievable, from the first line until the last line. The book grabs you and won't let go! As we go throughout this book that is filled with action around every page, we get to see five different characters that go from being individual misfits to becoming a family of misfits!
Each character has such a different back story, and we get a glimpse of this throughout the book. (I need a book on each. ASAP!) But the way that Jordan has captured describing them is breathtaking, especially Cassius, who is the main vampire, and Linda, who is a krok'ida with the pronouns they/them! (Better read the book to find out!)
Also, the world building was on point! I love that I could smell what under a mountain and a forest could smell like, and could feel the damp fog from the marshland upon my arms!
So if you are fan of dark new adult books that have vampires, lizard folk, magic, a hint of ancient dragons (more to come!), with a hint of spice, then this is a book for you!
I will definitely be buying a physical copy when it's released to place on my shelves and will unpatiently be waiting for the sequel!
Honestly this was my first ARC and I am so glad! Cassius is everything. The first line of the book you aren’t sure where it’ll go, I can tell you it’s haunting. If you love Vampires and detail it’s a must read. I love dark books and to be able to find someone that can give me that had me wanting more. Amazing job!
I love D&D. I play twice a week. At one point in my life I played 4 nights a week. I could never get into Critical Role. HOWEVER, I love The Tidings of Misfits! I actually did not know it was based off a D&D campaign til my friend pointed it out and then I went to read the synopsis again and looked at Jordan's Instagram page...how was I so oblivious? Anyways! . . Plot The worldbuilding is immaculate. It draws you in and you'll want to stay there for a few hours and go on this adventure yourself. Reading this made me wish I was at the table playing as well! The action was so well done! It's one of the things I heavily critique in books and it's also a no brainer that a D&D campaign inspired book would have great action. I'll say it a million times, it is so well done! This book leaves you wanting more. . Characters Linda is my favorite, hands down. The queer representation is chef's kiss. And to top it all off found family. It is really amazing to read how relationships change between different characters as time goes on. Ones that initially are against each other in the beginning can trust later on, etc. Interpersonal relationships between characters in books and on a D&D table are the best thing in the world. I love, love, love the found family in this book. In other books, I'm *usually* meh about it because I don't care, honestly. But The Tidings of Misfits DELIVERS. Ten-fold. Sign me up! . . If you like my reviews, follow me here or on Instagram!
🖋I am honored to have received an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing!
Title: The Tidings of Misfits Author: Jordan Dugdale Series: Whispered Tales Series Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆
One of my most anticipated reads of 2023, Jordan knocks this book out of the park. I can't get enough the world she's built with all the magical and paranormal characters even throwing some spice throughout just to keep things even more interesting.
Each character is well thought out and really brings something to this story. I was totally enthralled with the world building and descriptions that Jordan used to really pull us into her world. I loved that Jordan added Linda, a LGBTQ character who identified as they/them. I think we should have more queer characters who have different pronouns in books nowadays. Every unique character, their background and identity only adds to the story. I really couldn't get enough of Cassius. Jordan wrote some really diverse characters and I feel that there is a character for everyone in this story.
This is a dark grim fantasy and does discuss some topics that could be triggering for readers so I would definitely read the warnings before proceeding. With that said if you like dark fantasies found family, queer characters, magic and morally grey, diverse characters then this is your book. Jordan didn't disappoint with this debut book. I highly recommend this book to all.
Thank you Jordan Dugdale for letting me be apart of your arc team for my honest review. I truly can't wait to read the next book in this series!!!!
4.5/5 ⭐️ First off, I am so grateful for the opportunity I was given to read the eARC for this book. This was such a special experience as I’m only just breaking a several year long reading slump. I also hated it because now I’m going to have to wait twice as long to read the next book.
Now for the meat and bone of this (non-spoiler) review. This story has it all. Found family, queer representation, a unique magic system, easy to follow world building, multiple POVs, and a plethora of magical/mythical creatures. I was incredibly surprised and impressed with all of the lgbtq+ representation in this book, especially with Linda’s character. They are such a badass, and at many points throughout the story, very relatable. I absolutely fell in love with Cassius and Helai. The tension between them was captivating, and I’m anticipating more in the rest of the series. Rooster feels like a brother; I love the man, but I worry about him. I definitely want to see more of Intoh and learn more about the magic system in this world because it’s very interesting, but we don’t get very much of it here. Because the world is so vast, we are also introduced to several different cultures that I really hope we get to explore moving forward. Overall, I really enjoyed watching our 5 main characters develop such a strong bond when they were strangers at the beginning of our story. This was an incredible story from a beautiful soul, and I can’t wait to read more.
Very slowly paced, more on par with a dungeon crawler.
The story started off with a bit of mystery. A vampire in excile awoken before his punishment finished, compelled to leave his sanctuary by mysterious urges. I found this part of the story to be interesting. I wanted to know what called him and why. Then as his adventure starts, the story morphed into a litRPG. For the next near 30% of the story, a dungeon crawler to kill rakken...or anthropoid rats. Although this brought together the party that eventually helps him, it felt more like a distraction and was a slog to read through. As was the next mission, to obtain money and weapons. It was all way too drawn out and felt like it pulled away from the main plot. The plot became an after thought that was then rushed to be finished in the last 10%. It wasn't properly concluded either. I was left with more questions than answers and annoyed with the slow roundabout storytelling.
The journey of unlikely friends, as they face challenges and join in on epic battles. I appreciated and loved every detail put into this story, and the world building was great! The last 25% will have you on the edge of your seat and the end will have you begging for more.
I received this book as an ARC, but I can’t wait to purchase a final copy. Excited to see how the series progresses and dive back into this world.
The whole book is a slow burn, I feel like. Cassius? SO GREAT! Enjoyed the world building and learning and reading the character development. Excited for the next book!
Wow. So. This was not what I expected in the best way possible. I haven’t quite felt this “vibe” so to say as I read a book before or in a long time. The last handful of chapters held the most bizarre creepy eerie atmosphere.
The title of the book says it all. We follow a group of misfits throughout the book, each of a different race from Vampires to a race of beings that are basically crocodiles that are bipedal and speak (also my fav character of the book). They all don’t quite understand the others motives but they’ve come to care for one another. They fight for their lives and battle creatures that shouldn’t exist or be there, all while confused and conflicted about a weird feeling they all get. I don’t even know how to appropriately sum it all up with all the twists and turns thrown at me.
Jordan’s world building and way with words is superb. She made me feel ENGULFED in the story. The characters she creates and visualizes are unique too. The vampires are not sexy vampire diaries ones, they’re decayed and rotting, the mermaids are beasts, and lizards have magic.
I want to start by saying I was selected as an ARC reader for this novel, but this review is of my own thoughts and opinions of this book.
I’ve been stuck with my reading for a while now, and reading The Tidings of Misfits got me out of my reading slump!
The Tidings of Misfits is a dark fantasy in the new adult genre (see the trigger warnings in the Goodreads reviews) Honestly, I think the story is fantastic. This book has morally grey characters and the found family trope which are two of my favorites! Overall, this story has an intense and unique plot, some of the most realistic feeling characters with amazingly portrayed emotions, and the character arcs! The character arcs are amazing!
The writing style and tone set are so unique and well done it was as though I was pulled into the book and was with the characters every step of the way! I’m honestly so excited to see more of Jordan Dugdale’s work going forward!
4.5/5⭐️ Starting this off to note that I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, and the following thoughts are completely my own.
I am the first to admit that I was unsure if I would enjoy this book, as I’m not a regular fantasy reader. However, I was blown away by this book. The author has created this amazing and beautiful world full of unique characters. With their use of imagery, you feel like you’re living it right there with them. The characters feel relatable in almost a modern way, but their world is so mysterious and unique that it keeps the fantasy of it all in check.
I truly would recommend this book to all kinds of readers! (Even the ones that aren’t so sure about fantasy 😉) I am so grateful I got the chance to read this and I can’t wait to pick up a hard copy once it’s published!
What a beautiful written book! My favorite kind of book is one that you can tell how much the author LOVED writing it, and this is 100% one of those! This is very different from other books I’ve read, but on a good way. The world building is so good, and really does a great job pulling you in! So excited to read more from the author. Hoping people love this book as much as I do, and I’m so great fil for the chance to read it early 💕
I love the misfits! Oh my goodness this book is full of adventure, mystery, and suspense. What a wonderful world to lose yourself in. I cannot wait to read more adventures with these characters as they all find themselves and grow. I was so lucky to be apart of the ARC team for this book and I cannot wait until others can enjoy this story as much as I did.
I received an ARC of this book and I couldn’t put it down.
The author’s descriptions made me feel like I could smell, taste, and see even the tiniest details. It was so good at times it made my stomach turn. The world building is so well put I couldn’t help but want to know more. Following along with this group of beings was such a wild and unexpected ride and I can’t wait to read the other stories Jordan wants to tell.
In the beginning, it starts off with a bang and then slows tremendously, I often was bored through most of the books. Although it took me a bit to get into the story (I was in a reading slump when I started to read this), by the end of the book I was really fond of the characters. I haven't often read a book that categorizes as a misfit/found family trope but the author wrote this well enough that I am going to look at other books with this theme. I enjoyed the humor in the book and the author’s ability to describe a setting.
I also really enjoyed how this story is written from the five main characters' points of view, each portion of the story was fleshed and its own building on other perspectives which was nice and enhanced the story. This book focused on a lot of world-building, and while it was pretty short it packed a lot into the story. I appreciated the detail put into this story. With that said at times the world-building was so much that I often felt like I was losing pieces of the story and had to go back and reread the passages.
Did I like it? Yes, despite some it its initial flaws the story was strong and by the end, it felt like a "merry band of thieves". There were questions that I would like answered and hope that the story continues.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It's a solid debut novel. Again despite the parts that were slow like molasses and having to reread portions to get a grasp because there was sooo much world-building at times you forget that this is the author's first novel.
I did receive an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to the author for allowing me to review her book.
This books tells you the story of different characters while switching the points of views (POV) and the transitions are seamless as you don’t any repeated scenes once the POV changes. The Misfits, as they are named at some point, come from different backgrounds, are a group you would not find together under any circumstances as their kinds don’t mix where they are. They come together due to circumstances that end up guiding them together to reach a common goal and location.
This book is full of well written, inclusive, very different but entertaining, and whole characters. It is action and adventure packed. There are many details that help you create an image of where they are and what they are doing during their adventures.
My favorite characters were Linda and Intoh. Intoh has a hunger for learning and understanding more of what he is interested in. Linda is Linda, and they are a fabulous character that often made me laugh.
If you like fantasy, dark fantasy, vampires, magic, and adventure, you must definitely read this story.
Ps. For it being the author’s first book, Jordan did an amazing job. This is incredibly well written.
I received an ARC for an honest review. So here we go.
I would like to make it short and painless for those of you who do not want to read a long review.
What I liked/loved: -The worldbuilding. It took me some time to really get into it, but when I finally did I could not put the book down. The world is complex and amazingly well developed. -The characters. They were everything I wanted... And more! They are diverse, inclusive and different. It is very common to read a debut novel in which all the characters feel the same. In this one, every character has its own personality, motivation and backstory and the way they fit perfectly together only makes me want to know more. (I may have a love for Rooster...So I am pretty biased.) -The pace. At the beginning the book felt slow. It quickly changes, developing into action mixed with intrigue. I could not read fast enough!
What I did not like that much: -It took me some time to really get into the story. I was afraid of missing something important, because of all the details that were said. -In some scenes I was not entirely sure what was happening and I found myself re-reading a couple of them.
Conclusion and final thoughts: -Did I like it? Yes, by the end I felt like part of the story. I really feel like already having such a good knowledge of the world that I cannot wait to keep discovering more. I really need to know what happens next! -Would I recommend it? HECK YES. It is a very solid debut novel. The writing made me forget that on numerous occasions. The way Jordan evoked some feelings is not something every author is capable of doing. I will definitely keep an eye out for her and this series!
I would first like to thank the author for a free copy in exchange for an honest review. (Spoil-free)
It's hard to find anything bad to say about this novel. The world-building was great. I could easily picture where the characters were and it really felt like I was there with them. I commend this since the characters literally traveled everywhere from towns to caves to forests. Making the reader feel connected with each setting can be difficult, but Dugdale pulled it off.
Not only was her world-building phenomenal, but her diverse cast of characters was *chef's kiss*. She did an amazing job intertwining modern social aspects into a fantasy novel. Following five different characters can often get confusing, but I was never lost to who was speaking or who's POV I was in. However, while I was never lost, I personally don't like following that many POV's just because I will typically latch onto one or two characters and be more invested in their side of the story. That being said, each chapter was still amazing.
Magic and action filled this novel from beginning to end and I highly suggest this to anyone and everyone. It's a very unique novel with its own magic system and every sort of fantasy creature you can imagine - from dwarves to vampires to centaurs. Again, I can't recommend this novel enough. Save yourself the time of deciding and just read it.
From the start, I was hooked and pulled into a wild but dark fantastical world full of vampires and other otherworldly creatures. I was seriously not expecting to feel as much as I did for each and every character of the misfit gang, and would love for another story to further explore their individual background stories. I felt as though I could easily connect to them on certain levels, and it didn’t feel too rushed nor empty.
Another great thing about reading this story is that while this book ranges over various dark themes—which I strongly advise to all to do some research beforehand—it isn’t as dark to the point where it becomes unbearable to continue. Although, there were some moments in the book that made me go woahhh, there.
Cassius is, by far, my favorite character. He had me in the palm of his hand from the get-go. Rooster is a close second, partially because of his personality and because I keep imagining he has a rooster-style haircut😂.
I absolutely love, love this book and will definitely buy a physical copy of this book once it releases in January.
Cassius is awoken from his long sleep from someone in the dark. A voice urges him to go to Volendam. He meets four others on his journey there: a thief, a man who has lost his name and two lizard folk. The posse is called to Voldendam and they must band together to find the truth.
I really enjoyed how this story is written from the five main characters points of view. Getting the different perspectives enhanced the story telling. This book focused on a lot of world building. There were a lot of questions posed in this book that were not answered. This is a series so I am anticipating that what we learn in this book will give us the knowledge needed to better understand events and get answers in the next book. I do look forward to reading the next in the series to see how this story unfolds.
Please make sure you read the trigger warnings the author has posted before reading the book.
Thank you so much to Jordan Dugdale for the ARC. The thoughts expressed in this review are my own.
This was a fun-filled adventure story that felt less like I was reading a book and more like I was sitting at the table watching a Dungeons and Dragons campaign unfold before my eyes.
I loved everything from her take on vampires to how she changed each character's speech to fit them. Speaking of vampires, I LOVED that these vampires aren't just your standard pretty immoral creatures, we actually get to see the monster for what it is. Jordan really did think of everything when building these characters and this setting. I haven't read a book that touched the five senses like this in a long time.
Overall, I hope to see more from each of these characters as Jordan could easily not only continue this series but also write additional short stories on each of the individual characters.
Remember to check your trigger warnings and prepare yourself to dive into this epic dark fantasy that will have you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
