近未来世界，地球因战争遭到严重污染，人类转移到避难所中生活。此时，已冷冻睡眠数十年的天才科学家八津苏醒了，等待他的却是机器人和人类敌对的世界。

为了和平，八津继承了同伴小七的遗志，研制出可以清除战争污染的“地球清扫机器人”，并为此付出了生命。当地球终于恢复原状，机器人却将枪口瞄准了他们眼中的垃圾——人类；而八津以自己为本体制造的克隆人，却沦为人类的战争工具……但在漫长残酷的战争中，始终有一群人相信，机器人、克隆人和人类可以一起活下去，在这片满是温柔的土地上。

This one makes me cry every single time.
Although it's mainly about robots and cloned humans, each character passes on a part of themselves throughout every interaction and shows a growth of empathy and emotional intelligence. Ironically, in the war between robots and humans, the robots are the ones who take in a human (their enemy) and treat him sincerely, eventually planning to surrender due to their love for him. The humans, on the other hand, are the heartless characters of the story.
