The misfit adventures and teacher love stories have all captured my heart. I couldn’t get enough and this story doesn’t disappoint. I would read the previous books to understand the background of everything that’s gone on but it can be a stand-alone story.

Erza, the PE teacher, is in love with Lina. Everyone in his life supports and recognizes his feelings. He would do anything for her, cook, listen when she needs it, laugh, sing, make her pickles and chocolate fondu that she loves. The only one blind is Lina.

Lina, the art teacher, is always going after eye candy. Anyone who peaks her interest is usually a one night stand. She doesn’t do relationships, her parents taught her that marriage never works out. She always thought of Ezra as best friend material. If things were to go any farther, she knew she wouldn’t have her best friend anymore. So she clung to playing it safe.

When she thinks she finds Mr. Right, Erza tries to move on. But Lina realizes she’s not as happy as she thought she would be with Erza having a relationship of his own.

This story doesn’t begin as a chemistry between two people. Lina especially makes it difficult for Erza to announce his feelings in any regard. But later on, it definitely seems to pick up. I preferred the chemistry at the beginning between the other two books but this was a more of a slower paced romance. I enjoyed it thoroughly and recommend it. There’s a lot more to the story than meets the eye. Not only is it a romance but a journey of discovering how to accept one another as entire beings, their past, their faults, all of it mixed together.

I received an ARC copy for my honest review.

Just a little more than friends is the next standalone romantic comedy from Melody Sweet and this friends to lovers story was the perfect mix of sweet and sassy. Best friends Lina and Ezra have never crossed the friendship line. They live together and are both teachers at Haven Academy. Ezra is secretly in love with Lina, however she has no idea and it's not until he finally plucks up the courage to speak his truth and lay his heart on the line that Lina sees what has been in front of her this whole time. This was an amazing romance that had me laughing and impatiently waiting for Lina to see what an amazing man Ezra was and how right for each other they were.

This is probably my favorite book in the series so far. I love friends to lovers! There were a few times it was hard to read this book, but it's because it handles heavy topics such as emotionally abusive parents. While it is a tough topic, it is handled with such grace and beauty. My favorite thing about this book is accepting your past and loving yourself through it. I couldn't put the book down from the start and that carried throughout the whole way. I absolutely adored Ezra and the adorable cinnamon roll man he is. Absolutely recommend.

OMG. This book was amazing! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I absolutely would.

This book follows the story of Lina and Ezra, two teachers at Haven Academy. They’ve been best friends for years, so what happens when that friendship turns into something more?

These characters are so cute! I loved their chemistry, Melody Sweet is amazing at creating the perfect relationships. The appearances of characters from her previous Haven Hallways books and the Misfits Remix series by Jordan Fors was cool too, I loved the interconnectedness! The plot was engaging and it was extremely well paced, making it a comfortable read. I also really enjoyed reading a book from the perspectives of two teachers, I am a training teacher myself so I thought this was quite fun!

If you’re a fan of friends to lovers, dual pov and closed door romances, then this is the book for you!

SPOILER: Also, I would just like to mention that I absolutely loved that instead of “getting married” they are going to become “lifelong lovebugs”!!! It is just so sweet!!

All the slow-burn feels!

Friends-to-more is one of my favorite tropes, and I simply love the Haven Hallways series - as well as the companion Misfits Remix YA series! And while this book can be read as a standalone, it’s even more fun if you have met some of the supporting cast in the previous books.

This sweet and entertaining story made me smile a lot, it had a couple of laugh-out-loud moments, there were plenty of swoons, and it packed quite an emotional punch. I truly felt for Lina, and it was so gratifying to see her grow throughout the story (even though her sheer stubbornness and occasional evasion tactics could be a tad frustrating at times). And Ezra, this epitome of a cinnamon-roll hero, made it sooo easy to root for him. (Also, I adore his family - can I adopt them, like, all of them?)

Can't wait for the next book in this series (or the Misfits... I'm not picky... ;) )!

This is such a lovely story, it will put a smile on your face.
Ezra and Lina are besties, but he wants more. This unrequited love is heart breaking for him watching her go on dates. Will he risk their friendship?
I think her eyes were opened before he said anything. She had such vulnerability, a bad upbringing that she thinks holds her back. Ezra will show her how strong she is.
I just loved this story so much as we watch friends become so much more.

I read this book as an ARC. I really enjoyed reading it and when te author send it to me, she said that it has some Ross-Rachel vibes (Friends). I definetely felt those vibes in the story, i loved that! Friends is my favourite show, so that made this book so enjoyable for me.
I also really liked te story between Ezra and Lina and how their relationship grew between them.

Grateful that i received this e-book to review it! Definetely worth reading :)

This is it! Lina never thought she would find a great love and was destined for hookups, but she's found the perfect man. Caden is gorgeous, successful and so charming. Maybe she can get the HEA her friends all seem to have. But once again, she's reminded of the Russo curse. Her family is not good at relationships. Unwilling to risk losing his chance again, Ezra confesses to Lina that he's in love with her. Has been for years. She friend-zoned him from the beginning and he's been scared to lose her friendship. Now Lina has a decision to make. Can she risk losing her best friend if dating him doesn't work? Can she risk passing up love with her best friend if it does?

This book is a contradiction. It's light-hearted on the whole but also delves into past childhood abuse, its aftereffects on adult relationships, and unrecognized/unrequited love. So sprinkled among cheery pages are moments certain to tug at your heart. It's a lovely friend-to-lovers romance between two likable characters that are meant to get their HEA. You can't help but root for Ezra from the beginning to get the girl. I was impatient with Lina at times but I understood what she needed to work through. and knew she would be stronger for it. She took a few extra turns along the way but it was worth it in the end. Shout out to The Cotton family. Don't we wish all big families were this wonderful? And here's to being a Cotton Girl!

I love the characters in these books, they are all well written and engaging. I highly recommend this sweet and clean romance with just a little steam, and a surprising twist in the plot that makes it hard to put this book down.
For Ezra it was love at first sight, but Lina has some serious hangups about long term relationships. After living through her parents’ bitter divorce as a young girl, she does not believe that she can find someone to love her for herself. When Lina’s first attempt at a long-term relationship with a man Ezra introduced her to ends, he is determined to convince Lina to trust him with her heart.

Ezra and Lina have been best friends for years. Ezra is totally in love with Lina though and is now struggling with the fact that she may have found a new guy.
Linas background/childhood was terrible though so she doesn’t want to get married or thinks she can’t make it in a long relationship.
Ezra was by her side through everything but he couldn’t hold his feelings in any longer.
Ezra was the perfect guy for Lina; it just took her a bit to realize that. I felt bad for both of these characters but thankfully Lina is stronger than she thinks.
This story is definitely predictable but still sweet and enjoyable.

Ezra is the best! Oh wow, did I love him! Such a sweetheart! He broke my heart with how he sweet he was to his best friend and how she was completely ignorant of his feelings. Lina had placed him firmly in the friend zone, without ever contemplating anything more.

Turns out that Lina was hiding a horrible past and had good reason to not believe she was worthy of the perfect romance. So when Ezra finally plucked up the courage to make his feeling known it was no surprise that Lina dealt with it badly. Their journey to happily-ever-after was emotional and full of angst.

Melody knows how to write the perfect romance and this was it! Love this series!

Ezra and Lina have been best friends for years, but he has secretly loved her since they met, having only remained best friends and now not knowing how to change that category.
Lina doesn't believe in lasting love relationships, as her family background is not the best, but Ezra will do anything to show her that love is worth it and can overcome anything.
These two together are fantastic, as is Ezra's family.
I loved the story and the characters and how Lina was able to overcome her fears. I highly recommend the reading.

Great friends to lovers romance.

Ezra is an awesome friend and person. I loved how warm and kind he was to everyone. Lina seems a bit on the shallow side, only looking for a hook up. As the story progresses we read about why Lina is the way she is.
It is a wonderful story about recognizing who you are and overcoming your past.
There is great depth in the story that comes out toward the end of the book.
I loved the appearance of Beck (from the Forever Love series) in this story!

Ezra and Lina are best friends. But he is been in love with her from the first time they met in college. Lina’s past is keeping her from opening her heart to real love. Can Ezra help Lina realise she is worth it and have a future together? An epic love story that will make you fall in love with sweet Ezra and brave but closed up Lina. Trust, family, friendship and above all love.

Best one yet! I’m really enjoying this series but this one was my favorite! It was funny & sweet. Don’t get me wrong I wanted to punch Lina for not seeing what a great guy she had right in front of her & it taking her so long to give it but the ride was a fun one. Can’t wait for the next one, enemies to lovers!

**SPOILERS**Wow does not fully encumber the breadth of this book. I was prepared to read a bit before bed and before I knew it I was nearing the end crying while hoping for the HEA both Lina and Exra both deserve. The declaration after Ezra's accident and then to disappear. How you mess with my emotions. And then at the end my heart grew three sizes with her own proposal.

Liked it

I enjoyed this book, didn’t love it but I liked it. I think the reason is I didn’t like some things about the main characters . The MMC was a little overly accommodating to the FMC which sometimes came off as unrealistic or not standing up for himself. And I liked the FMC in the previous books in the series but in this one when we take a deeper dive into her character she seemed too oblivious and shallow or something. Just didn’t connect with me. These are minor issues which didn’t impact my experience too much.

So that being said, I wouldn’t shy away from recommending it to you.

Ezra and Lina have been besties for a very long time, Ezra having some more than platonic feelings that are incredibly unrequited. Everyone knows it except Lina and want the two to be together. Lina has her own past which she has difficulty with letting herself be loved and love others. It’s a cute, slow paced story with all the feels and the drama that is to be expected. It was a fun book overall and I would recommend it.
