Rate this book
The Revised Edition of A Source Book of Ancient Chinese Bronze Inscriptions offers English translations and commentary on over eighty-two important bronze inscriptions, ranging in date from approximately 1200 B.C.E. to 200 C.E. with critical corrections to the first edition. The translations and discussions are a collaborative effort of experts scholars, including Constance A. Cook, Wolfgang Behr, Robert Eno, Paul R. Goldin, Martin Kern, Maria Khayutina, David W. Pankenier, David Sena, Laura Skosey, and Yan Sun. For each inscription, authors offer a brief overview of the provenance and historical context of the bronze, followed by a transcription in modern Chinese graphs, an idiomatic translation, and a list of further reading. This Revised editon corrects errors in and updates the material in the original edition.
