She’s a witness in need of protection. He’s a warrior in need of a female.
Nala When an unknown enemy shoots down her space cruise ship, Nala’s pod crash lands on an unidentified planet. Flat on her back, she finds herself looking up at a blue male with horns, tattoos, and a disarming smile. But her motto is ‘The only good alien is a dead alien.’
The male doesn’t hurt her. No, he tries to woo her. He claims to have two cocks and says both are hard for her, proving she’s his heart mate, whatever that is. Clearly, he’s crazy. Either way, she won’t be another notch on his beautifully tattooed chest.
Skaggs Skaggs never thought the gods would gift him a sholani. They literally sent her down wrapped up in a silver pod, just for him. She landed on his property, and on Zyan, anything on your property is, well… your property. Good thing too, because he’s in a bind that requires having a female.
She’s his, and he’s not letting her go. First, he’ll have to save her from the aliens who are trying to kill her. Can he convince her she’s meant for him and that he’s not the manwhore he appears to be, but a Zyanthan Warrior worthy of her love?

Skaggs is the misunderstood, fun-loving hero who will do ANYTHING for the woman he loves. The tropes for this alien sci fi romance include: Forced Marriage, Fated Mates, and Past Trauma. There's a lot of humor in this book as well as angst, so be prepared to laugh and cry!
Nala (h) works as a waitress onboard a space cruise ship when she draws the unwanted attention from an og’dal, the same specie of alien who abducted and enslaved her in her past. A mishap leads to Nala crashing in an escape pod onto a nearby planet, Zyan, where she encounters Skaggs (H), a blue alien with tattoos and horns. Skaggs believes her to be the answer to his need to claim a mate within a week or he’ll lose that which he holds most dear, but Nala has no interest in being anyone’s mate due to her past. Lots of action and danger at every turn for Nala and Skaggs, even as things heat up between them. Lovely alien fated mates romance with a side of heat and lot of action.
💙 “You make me better. You make me want to be better, sholani. You’ve taught me one thing my warrior training could not…. The importance of trust.” ~~~ Nala is an amazing woman who’s been through so much! Taken, used and forced to endure horrible things and then rescued, Nala is now trying to take back control of her life. I admired her strength, not only to endure everything life’s thrown her way but to do her best to move on and even face her fears by taking a job in space. She’s so resilient and brave - a true survivor. Even more, she’s such a kind and compassionate person. I loved her so much!
And Skaggs is one phenomenal male! He might be known for being a ladies’ man, but there’s so much more to him than meets the eye. Not only is he strong, fearsome and fiercely protective, but the Zyan warrior is incredibly honorable, patient, thoughtful and so, so charming. I absolutely adored everything about him. But Skaggs is hiding a secret that could destroy his life and the time for fixing it is running out.
I loved everything that happened between Nala and Skaggs! After the ship Nala’s working on is attacked, she crash-lands on Skaggs’ property. From the moment they met, their attraction was strong but Nala’s fear of aliens didn’t make it easy for them. Nevertheless, I adored Skaggs for being so thoughtful and patient, showing her that not all aliens are bad and helping her cope with her trauma. Even more, despite knowing that she’s his fated mate, I loved him for giving her the chance to get to know him and the time to decide for herself if she wants to be his or not. And he was there for her and helping her find courage to testify against the og’dals. And I loved Nala for managing to overcome her fears, learn to trust Skaggs and see what a magnificent male he truly is. She was so fierce standing up for him and supporting him when he had to deal with his father and giving him the bravery to tell his crewmates his secrets. Those two were amazing together and the passionate moments they shared were so hot. But their journey towards happiness was not an easy one. Nevertheless, Skaggs and Nala were perfect for each other and, after everything both went through, they more than deserved to find acceptance, healing and love with each other!
In addition, the storyline was fantastic! With the danger from the og’dals, the suspense and the unexpected turns of events, I was glued to the pages till the very end. Even more, I loved Skaggs’ crewmates and was so happy to meet the Marshals from GI7 and some of the Zyan warriors again. And then, there was Skaggs’ father - as much as I disliked him throughout the story and didn’t approve of any of his actions, my heart broke for the old warrior.
Overall, the story is another spectacular addition to the series! It’s filled with danger, action, drama, violence, suspense, twists, intrigues, hot romance and magnificent characters.
I absolutely loved every page of it and cannot wait to see what happens next!
“She’d forgotten how to joke and laugh a long time ago.”
Based on other reviews I can see I’m clearly in the minority but I was disappointed with this book. I’ve been a huge fan of this series but I’ve never read any of the books in the Zyanthan Warriors series. Since there were a lot of references and appearances to the Zyanthan series, maybe that’s why this book never really clicked for me. Skaggs is obviously a characters that has made many appearances before but he was unknown to me. He seemed charming and I liked him ok. Even Nala appears to be a nice person. She’s been through a lot and that in itself is one of the problems I had. For someone who had been through everything she had, she sure did a complete 180 with almost no hesitation. Also, while I believe they liked each other, I really felt there was very little chemistry between them. In fact, compared to the other books in this series, this book had almost no steam at all. Finally, I know this was a novella from an anthology that was expanded and even if the author hadn’t mentioned it in the blurb, it was extremely obvious. There were inconsistencies and repetitions all over. I think it’s probably harder to expand a previously written story than write from scratch. Despite all of this I’m not going up on this series. I enjoyed the first three books too much, especially Grit, which is one of my favorite alien romances by anyone. (Trust me. Read it.) Ri’Nom is next. We left him on Dal taking care of personal business and I can’t wait to see what fate throws his way. And I have to stick around for book six, Zirkov. There’s no way I’m missing that male conquered by love.
This book was brilliant and the characters were amazing and I loved how they both wanted the same thing but had different reasons why, one needed and wanted it and one wanted it to feel safe and loved. Nana is a human that was kidnapped by ugly Og’dal aliens and sold into slavery and used but now she works on a Cruise ship as a bartender and keeps getting hit on by the aliens she serves but she ignores them by one alien is a Og’dal who keeps watching her and reminds her of being taken. Now the cruiser is under attack and everyone heads to the escape pods and when the alien try’s to grab her she is gone in a pod to an unknown destination. Skaggs is a Zyan warrior that works for the Marshals from G17 and is at home on his property trying to work out how to get out of the marriage he doesn’t want that his father will arrange in 7 days if he has wed by then, sure he loves the ladies by isn’t looking to settle down and now his prayers are answered when a pod crash lands on his property with a gorgeous human female inside that he instantly knows is his Sholani and thanks the gods and if it’s on your property by Zyan Law you own it. Nala wakes to find a huge blue alien with horn’s and a sexy smile is standing over her telling her he can make her happy and pleasure with his special equipment and she is grossed out and believes a good alien is a dead one after everything she has been through and isn’t looking for a mate he tells her she is to him. How does it all turn out do they find there HEA after all the secrets are revealed. Loved it.

Nala signed up for an alien bride program in a last-ditch effort to get off earth. Unfortunately, the females were sold into slavery by the O’gdal. Rescued from the brothel and returned to earth two years earlier, she is unable to find a job. To avoid starving to death she takes a job on a luxury cruise ship catering to rich humans and aliens. As much as she hates aliens, she forces herself to be polite to them while she is working. When their ship is shot down, she escapes in a pod and lands on Zyan. The first thing she sees is a blue alien standing over her. Oh no, not again! She kicks him in the chest and runs!
Skaggs has spent the last 10 years looking for his sholani or heartmate. As a warrior he has traveled the universe, but has had no luck. His father is forcing his hand. He has one week to mate or he will be kicked out of the force and loose his warrior status. He refused to mate someone that is not his sholani. He has returned to his home to accept his fate. He can’t believe his luck when the Gods drop an escape pod at his doorstep with a beautiful female inside. When he realizes she is his sholani, he will do anything to get her to agree to be his mate.
A wonderful journey as Nala and Skaggs trudge through the disasters of their pasts and learn to trust each other and move forward. But fate will take them on a harrowing journey and test them to their limits! A wonderful, amazing book!.

Human Nala has a past that haunts her, and she is trying to do what it takes to find a place where she can hide from her trauma as an Earth abductee sold as a sex slave. The last place she wants to wind up on is an alien planet, in the company of Skaggs, a fierce-looking alien warrior who immediately sees her as mate material. Nala isn't ready for a relationship of any kind and Skaggs is in a rush to get married for reasons he's reluctant to disclose. Slowly, they start to close the trust gap between them and seize the day by acting on their attraction to each other. He proves his devotion and concern for the woman he knows to be his fated mate, and she opens herself to the possibility of love and a future away from Earth. The relationship between the two lovers is complicated by intergalactic politics, assassins out to get Nala before she exposes them for sex trafficking, and a tangled father-son dynamic that could break the couple apart. I was drawn to the slow and tender way that Skaggs prioritizes his mate's independence and gives her the time she needs to accept their relationship fully, even though doing so undermines his own timetable. Nala is a survivor, and she finds the strength to confront her fears, her father-in-law, and Skaggs's self-doubts. There are also a rich number of secondary characters who make you want to learn more about them. Great story-telling and sizzling romance.

I really like the Alien Marshals & Mates series because of the strong heroines and amazing males willing to do anything to protect their true mates. This book starts unusually, because from the beginning we are not dealing with a witness to protect or one of the marshalls. The heroine is a waitress on one of the space cruise ships. And although due to her tragic past, Nala doesn't like aliens, she faces her fear every day to realize her plans for her dream home. However, unexpected events force her to save her life and leave the ship in a escape pod. Thus, she lands on an alien planet where she meets a Zyan warrior. For the Skaggs, Nala's arrival is like a gift from stars. He had been looking for his sholani for so long that he had already lost all hope of success. I liked how their relationship was presented. Skaggs was not only a pritectong and caring but also a patient male ready to show Nala that not all aliens are evil. As always in this series, the book is full of action that keeps the reader in suspense from the first page to the last. The great creation of the heroes makes us cheer for our heroes to defeat the demons of their past and experience their HEA. Even though this is the next book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, so I recommend it to fans of the alien romance genre.

This is a steamy friends to lovers romance story! The characters are well written and amazing. There’s Nala who ends up crashing on an uninhabited planet after the space cruiser she was on is attacked. Nala has given up hoping for true love and doesn’t trust any males, especially alien males. So when she finds herself looking up at a tall, blue, tattooed hunk who says she is his Sholani and his two hard…..”insert alien body part here” prove that she is the one for him, well she doesn’t believe him one bit and refuses to be another notch on his bedpost. Skaggs always thought he was meant to live his life alone without love. So when the gods drop his Sholani on his property, literally, he’s very happy and for more than one reason. He has her and he’s not giving her up for anything. He just has to kill the beings that are trying to kill his Nala, then he will spend the rest of his life if needsbe proving to her that she is the only one for him and the only one he will ever want or need. The storyline is exciting, entertaining and full of adventure, fated mates, danger, steamy scenes and more with a happily ever after ending.

I first read this story in the Claimed Among the Stars anthology and I adored it then. It this new expanded version it's even better Skaggs has been apart of the Relentless crew for years he's home inbetween missions when an escape pod crashes in a grove on his property. When he opens it he finds the most beautiful human female inside. Nala as suffered greatly at the hands of aliens especially those associated with the Gurd. She was kidnapped from earth and sold into slavery. Once rescued she vowed to take care of her self and never allow someone to trap and hurt her again. While working on board a star cruiser she's attacked but managed to escape and ends up on Zyan in the fields of a very blue warrior that looks to handsome for his own good who also seems to want to help her. Together they find out who is after her, Skaggs falls near over heels and finds out she's more than he ever expected, and Nala learned to trust and ultimately love. It's a fabulous story with twist and turns. Just enough angst and suspense , love and passion to make this an excellent entry in the Marshalls and mates series! 🔥💖🔥💖💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥
I enjoyed this alien romance story with all of the characters. The two main characters were Nala and Skaggs.
Nala is a human woman that was taking for Earth. Now she working on a space cruise ship. But when a unknown enemy shoots down the ship she on while she trying to protect her self from an alien that wants her. While trying run from alien she gets into a escape pod. The pod lands on a planet that not known to her. Plus there is also another alien that find her.
Skaggs is an alien warrior. He live on Zyan. While walking home he see a space ship but when he find it is only a escape pod. There is something in the pod. It an human woman that doesn't want his help.
This was a fun story to read. It had action, adventure, suspense and drama throughout. It had a few giggles within. I had a bit of steamy to it.
I received a complimentary copy via Booksprout. This is my honest unbiased opinions.
The fourth book in the Alien Marshals series is a good one in this entertaining Sci-Fi Romance. Bartender Nala finds herself launched into space when the luxury cruise ship she is working on comes under attack from an unknown enemy. After her pod crashes on a nearby planet Nala is found by Zyanthan warrior Skaggs who believes she was sent to him by the Gods and is his heart mate, arrived at last. Both of these lead characters were long overdue for love and in Nala’s case complicated even more by some heavy past traumas. But kudos to Skaggs for his unwavering determination in convincing Nala they were destined for each other. I enjoyed their story of steamy passion, adventure, intrigue and emotional healing which was written well is fast-paced and kept me invested to the heart palpitating HEA.

I have not read any of the previous books in this series. There were parts that might have made more of a connection for the story of I had read the previous books. I still enjoyed this story. It seemed a little wordy at times almost to much description but overall it was a great read. Nala has triggers that put her back to when she was enslaved. This makes it hard for her to trust, love or even be herself. Skaggs is very patient and understanding with her. I thought after her trauma that falling for the Alien would take longer. The storyline with Skaggs father was a surprise and a good p!or twist. All the extra characters added to the story and those that have read the other books most likely enjoyed catching up with them.

I loved this book! It was an amazing read. I absolutely love the Zyanthan warriors and was excited to pick this one up. Great world building and wonderful characters. I was hooked from the start and couldn't put this book down. I completely fell in love with Skaggs. He is honorable, patient, kind, and protective. Nala has suffered trauma and distrusts aliens. This story was a journey for her to heal, face her demons, and learn to trust again. I loved the way these two supported each other and seeing them fall in love. The story had danger, suspense, and intrigue, and I couldn't wait to get to their happy ending. 5 stars.
"She never thought she could trust another male, let alone enjoy s*x, again. But Skaggs understood her. He’d given her back the ability to trust again. To feel anything beyond fear."
Without losing her kind spirit, Nala shows her resilience in dealing with her difficult past and still finding a way to move on in strength. The ship where she works is attacked and she finds herself crashed on an unknown planet in her escape pod. An alien Zyanthan Warrior finds her and claims she is his mate! She’s not at all ready to jump into that role right now.
Skaggs had almost given up that the gods would offer him a mate. But because she is now his, he will protect her from whoever is trying to kill her and prove himself worthy of his mate. Can he convince her they were meant to be together? Is she willing to accept him as her mate despite the terrible things that had happened in her past?
Loved this story about Skaggs and Nala. Both characters were depicted well and were very likable. You have Nala who was abducted, enslaved and bought to work in a brothel, is now determined never to bow down and be used by an alien again as she restarts her new free life and Skaggs a warrior who been threaten by his father to find his mate or he'll be removed from service is desperate to find his sholani, his heart, were very engaging in this story. Nala life pod lands on Skaggs farm and he frees her from the pod. Nala tussles away from Skaggs not wanting to be touched. after a brief talk, Skaggs proposes to her. What occurs is a delightful story that I received by the author, and I volunteer to read and review.
Nala lands on Skagg's doorstep just when he needs her most. But she just needs to get home and away from aliens - especially since they all seem to want to kill her. She bonds quickly to Skaggs, but he has a secret he won't even share with her. And of all the family he's lost, the one family member he has left is his insufferable father who is set on blackmailing Skaggs and getting rid of Nala.
The two of them together are nothing short of sweet and snarky. Skagg's secret is scandelous at a cultural level, so he risks Nala either being horrified by his secret, the way others of his planet would be, or seeing it as trivial and consequently being dismissive of his struggles.

This is Nala and Skaggs' story and I loved it. Nala's life has been traumatic and she doesn't trust anyone, especially not aliens. When her life is in grave danger she comes across Skaggs' who discovers she is his sholani and he will do anything to protect her. Nala is scared to commit as a result of her past but knows she feels a connection with him. But her past has put her in danger and it will take all they have to keep her safe. I loved this book. Skaggs' and Nala are an amazing couple who help each other deal with their past. I will also never think of a honeymoon in the same light again. Well written and it will have you chuckling in places. A great addition to the series.

Just as he believes his problems are solved Nala’s past comes searching for her. Nala just wants to get on with life, it has been harder than most but just as she starts to figure things out it takes another turn. I enjoyed Skaggs and Nala’s story, it is a great addition to the series. If you are needing some suspense, action and a heavy does of romance this is a great book to find it. This world of was immersive from beginning to end. The building of the world and the characters within were written well.

Nala is a damaged but still feisty human female. She's just beginning to rebuild her life after being rescued from an alien brothel when she crash lands in an escape pod on Skaggs's property.
Skaggs has spent his life searching the universe for his shaloni when she falls from the sky onto his own property. He is a fierce, charismatic Zyanthan warrior with a quirky sense of humour.
Can he pursuade Nala to become his shaloni whilst keeping her safe from outside forces.
This is a beautiful, fast paced love story with plenty of action and intrigue.
Julie is a new author to me and I will definitely be looking out for more from her.

“Skaggs: Sci-fi Alien Warrior Romance” is the fourth book in the series’Alien Marshals and Mates’ by Julie K Cohen. Another beautiful addition to the series! Each book can be read separately but is best read in order. Each book is original, creative, has their own plot and is filled with twists and turns. Love reading about Skaggs and Nala’s attraction to each other and their beautiful romance. Julia K. Cohen keeps us guessing from page one. The path is filled with suspense, difficulties, amazing sexual scenes, hot, enticing, aliens, and you never have a clear idea how they will get together. Julia K Cohen is a gifted author, who knows how to weave an amazing story. Thank you for a wonderful read, Julia K Cohen.
This is a fantastic science fiction novel! I loved it! It's steamy, heartfelt and thrilling, with plenty of adventure. You are so caught up in the story that you can't let go and want to read through it in one piece. I loved everything that happened between Nala and Skaggs! After the ship Nala is working on is attacked, she crash lands on Skaggs property. From then on their attraction was strong, but Nala's fear of aliens didn't make things any easier.
It is full of danger, action, drama, violence, suspense, twists, intrigue, hot romance and magnificent characters.

Skaggs was always seen to come across as a bit of a playboy really, telling of his exploits except that is not really who he is. He is a bit of a joker but at heart he is a protector and one who never thought that he was worthy to have a sholani of his own. Imagine his utter disbelief when the small human turns out to be his. Nala has been hurt and she is determined for it not to happen again. That is all well and good until a huge blue male refuses to be put off by all her defenses add to which he seems determined to win her heart out from under her. Turns out that Skaggs might be one of the biggest softies going.. but only for his Nala.
This was a fantastic story that kept me entertained till the very end. I loved the storyline and the characters. Nala was a bartender on a luxury cruise ship and finds herself in a pod that crash lands on a nearby planet. She happens to be found by a Zyanthan warrior named Skaggs who believes that she's from the Gods and his his heart mate. Nala has lots of baggage from when she was enslaved. Skaggs is so patient and wonderful with her. Their journey to an HEA is filled with suspense, secrets, joy, danger, attraction, fated love, friendship and steam. Enjoyable story. Looking forward to .

Skaggs never thought he'd find his sholani, because he'd been seeking her for so long and for her to literally crash down at his feet was like a gift from the gods. Nor that Nala would have agreed at the beginning, since she tried to attack him to get away from him. She soon came to feel safe around him. But his "sholani"? After being a slave, am she wanted was peace, but danger seems to follow her. Can she give Skaggs a chance? And can he help her find out who wants to harm her? Lots of action and adventure as well as great characters. Awesome worldbuilding. A great read!.

The story keeps getting better and better. And I liked meeting old friends who appeared in this book.
The story feels like it's fated. The MMC's sholani being dropped on his property just when he needed her most. She may be human, but she know that she's safe with him. They have a lot of healing and growing to do and reaching the end, knowing that they're happy is good news to me.
There is much laughter here too. I loved the bonus epilogue too. It is what family is all about.

Planning on the planet? Check still afraid of aliens? Check attracted to the alien that is taking care of me? Check Skaggs is one of a kind? Definitely. Good characters. Storyline is definitely one for the books. He is ready to do what needs to be done to keep her safe. Never mind she’s scared of aliens and think that they should be nonexistent. It is what it is and they are both falling for each other. Good read.

Nala was abducted by aliens and was sold to a brothel. After she is rescued, she takes a job on a space cruise ship where she is again put in danger from the aliens who used her so badly. She gets away from that alien and into a pod when the cruise ship is attacked. She literally lands on Skagg's property. Skagg knows Nala is his sholani but Nala has a few things to say about that at first. They go through a lot, both apart and together before Nala realizes Skaggs is the one mate for her. This is a sweet and steamy romance with a lot of action and very enjoyable to read with a happy ending.
