Eight years ago, a young and vivacious Lacy Brown arrived in Mule Hollow. A town that at the time was dying. But thanks to the three elderly matchmakers, Lacy and the Wives Wanted Campaign, the town resurrected and has continued to flourish.
Now years later, the stories published by Molly were much enjoyed by Izzy Cranberry’s grandmothers and now that they have passed, Izzy is in town for a short to fulfill the grandmothers’ wish of visiting Mule Hollow.
But life has a surprise for Izzy when she meets and has an instant attraction to Luc Asher. A loner cowboy and horse trainer that carries a great deal of guilt and has decided that he would rather be alone that suffer once again the death of a loved one.
Will these two realize that not only plans change, but that opening their hearts could bring them great happiness?
This story is a touching, clean Christian romance that at times might seem corny, but in reality is very sweet and good for the soul.
If you have read the author’s series Mule Hollow Matchmakers, you will be delighted to “see” how the characters from the previous series are doing. If you are a new reader, rest assure that the author gives plenty of information on all the characters and you’ll soon feel like you have met them before.

Izzy Cranberry doesn’t want to be part of the matchmaking. She has her own plans. Plans to move to the city and open up a hair salon. But she’s here in Mule Hollow for her gram’s and grammy’s sake. They never made it here while alive, so Izzy will live out their dreams of visiting there.
Luc and Izzy try to tell the Matchmakin’ Posse they aren’t interested. Ha! Like that’s never been tried and failed. They also find out the plans for their lives and what God has for them are two different things. So, welcome back to Mule Hollow, Texas. It's fantastic to be in Mule Hollow again! How I have missed this town and it's residents! I've always felt that this is a real place in Texas and I want to live there! It feels like a real place and just opening the book felt like going home. The characters were old friends, ready to pick up where we left off! This time we get to meet two new characters, Luc and Izzy, who mistakenly think they can avoid the matchmaking posse just because they don't want to find love in their lives! They will soon find out that love will find them in Mule Hollow whether they want it or not! Luc had great tragedy in his life and has chosen loneliness and solitude so he won't get close to anyone else only to lose them. Izzy is only in Mule Hollow to keep a promise to her grandmothers who wanted more than anything to visit Mule Hollow but died before they could. She's not staying, she has dreams to open a hair salon somewhere else. Well, we'll see how both of those people fair once they meet each other! Wonderful story and characters!

Yay! This series is taking us back to Mule Hollow and the Matchmakin' Posse. This series starts with the story of Izzy Cranberry coming to Mule Hollow to honor her grandmothers. Her stay is meant to be temporary, just until she gets to meet the residents (especially the matchmakers) and experience the town. Luc Asher came to town a year ago at the request of Pace, who was a friend back in Idaho. The fact that neither of them is looking for a relationship is a moot point.
This is a sweet romance with plenty of humor, a close community, quirky animals, and so much more. Both Izzy and Luc start of fighting their attraction to each other but eventually they come to the realization there was a reason they met each other.
If you haven't read the Texas Matchmakers series, you will still enjoy this book as the author includes information on many of the core characters. But I would highly encourage you to read the other series as there are so many great stories.
This is a sweet romance with plenty of humor, a close community, quirky animals, and so much more. Both Izzy and Luc start of fighting their attraction to each other but eventually they come to the realization there was a reason they met each other.

Mule Hollow is ba-aaack!!
Welcome back! It’s been a long time since we paid a visit to Mule Hollow and the matchmaking women and the men all over town are up to helping the cowboys find their true lives. Izzie is in town to fulfill her two Grams dreams and them to move on. After a tragedy 10 years earlier Luc is determined to remain single so he would never hurt like that again. But even with the encouragement of all the matchmakers in town, the real matchmakers were more of the angelic variety. Green Acres anyone?
For previous fans of the series you’ll have a silly grin while you read this, for new readers, you’ll also have a silly grin. Come join the gang of the Wives Wanted club and drive a pink Caddy convertible.
Clean, Christian themed, I received this as an ARC ( but I also purchased it) and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good time reading about a little town that’s almost magical.

I fell in love with Debra's books a few years ago and I'm always playing catch-up, as I seem to start reading them out of order. So it was great to find a new series, which I can follow as each new book comes out.
The Trouble with a Small Town Cowboy is a clean Christian story, that has been written brilliantly, with wonderful characters that you can relate to and their chemistry is strong. A very good storyline that also has characters from previous books.
I loved this story and look forward the reading the rest of the series once they come out. I highly recommend this to all.

I'd call The Trouble with a Small Town Cowboy a romantic comedy! The Matchmakin' Posse of Mule Hollow, Texas, have new targets when Izzy Cranberry shows up in town and rents a house near horse trainer, Luc Asher! Izzy is fulfilling a wish of her deceased grandmother and great-grandmother by visiting Mule Hollow but has no desire to get married and settle down in a rural town. You will laugh at the antics of all of the matchmakers! If you want some humor, you don't want to miss The Trouble with a Small Town Cowboy by Debra Clopton. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.

Such a sweet return to Mule Hollow
Im lost for words to describe what a wonderful return to Mule Hollow this has been. From the 57 Caddy still purring along to the jukebox with a mind of its own and most of all the Matchmaking Posse and Samantha! It was like a long overdue and highly anticipated family reunion with greatly loved family and friends.
Absolutely great for all ages because it’s squeaky clean, thank you Debra! However it does touch on real life hurts and Gods love and mercies for us. I can’t wait to read Max’s story and start a 2nd generation of Mule Hollow Matches.

Two orphans find love in a small town.
Loved being back in Mule Hollow again. It's been awhile since I've been back. Luc and Izzy story was love at first sight for them both. But neither was looking for love. So many chances for to Luc to save Izzy it made the story fun. It took one intimate moment for them to see how much they needed each other. But loss for Luc hampered it for just a little while. But after Luc turned it over to God and let it go he was able let Izzy fully into his life and heart. Looking forward to Max story. Want to also here how Pace and Sheri are doing. I loved their story when I read it.

Mule Hollow might have had a shortage of women to marry all their cowboys but despite that fact, with all those ranches full of men, there were still a lot of single cowboys this town was still determined to marry off.
I am a big fan of Debra's and of her many Series' of Books. With this being the first book in the 'Texas Matchmakers at it Again' - book 2 is going to have to wait while I take a hiatus from Kindle reading.

I have several of Debra Clopton's books in my to read list and if this book is an example I will enjoy the others. Cowboy Romance is not a genre I read frequently but I chose to read this to get a break from MM Romance or Mystery and I enjoyed it.
The plot was easy to follow and the humour was delightful. I felt Izzy and Luc left their romance to late in the book but the stories along the way were fun. Both main characters are stubborn and reminds me of the bull or the horse Luc is training - in other words there is a streak of stubborness throughout the book

Two people meet in a small town. Luc was trying not to let anyone in bec of the loss he experienced. Izzy didn't want to stay in a small town bec she wanted to open her own hair styling boutique. Mule Hollow had one and didn't need another. However, They kept running into each other. Their feelings grew. It was hard to feel the pain Luc felt. I think thats why God put them together. The story has a great ending.

Rattlesnakes, a Beamer bull on the loose. Bluebonnets covering her backyard field and some match making people who just can’t help themselves. It’s funny sweet, caring, and I couldn’t lay it down. I wanted to ride in that pink Cadillac convertible too, but there was only so much time. Loved loved loved this story

A fun book to read
This was a happy and uplifting story. I adored all the characters and the story line was perfect. Sounds like a place I would have loved to have my life in. If you are looking for a book to sit back and have a pleasant afternoon, this is the one for you. I would highly recommend.

Good story
These stories aren't extra long but they are fun and cheerful. They also lead the reader to hope... Which humans need to keep living.
Izzy is satisfying her curiosity by renting in mule hollow & working as a hair stylist. Her grams loved the town's local newspaper. She learns to also love the town and the people in it.

I was so tired of seeing Gram & Grammy! They were mentioned far more than necessary.. We heard the story early. It didn't need repeating so often! I usually enjoy Clopton books.

Ridiculous fluff heavy with religious overtones and memories of grammies. ("My grams...my grams..." ad nauseum.) The one good thing I can say is that it only took 2 hours to read because I skimmed over all the unnecessary filler included by the author.

Hard to believe that a bestselling author would put out such a horrible book
Not only was this book not edited, it was filled with gigantic blocks of dialogue—one person talking on and on and on. Plus things were repeated dozens and dozens of times. Horrible writing!

It’s a cute store about the struggles of falling in love. I did enjoy the read, however as a teacher it is so hard to not grab a red pen and start doing corrections. I’ve read 2 books from this author and I’m not sure I’ll read a third. Hum??
