- Mention of cheating (not MCs)
- No OW/OM drama
- Mention of physical abuse
- Cliffhanger
So here is the thing with this series: It gets crazier as the story progresses. You really are just sitting there thinking that somehow things can't get anymore complicated but of course another twist is revealed and you can't help but wonder how anything you know can be taken as a fact.
I'm not quite sure what the end game is here but I hope ''Roman'' (if you have read the book then you know why I put his name in quotes) and Lucille can somehow manage to survive the game that seems to have been in play for YEARS.
I had some theories of my own going into this second book but a bunch of them were thrown out the window. The cliffhanger we get in this concerning ''Roman'' is quite shocking. Honestly, what the hell is going on? The cliffhanger concerning Lucille wasn't as it has been hinted since the first book, but I'm still interested to see if the procedure worked or if it was all natural (IYKYK).
The one thing I really believed would be solid (and it was) is the growing love and adoration the two MCs have for each other. They are truly in this mess together and both are out to protect one another.
I do wish we had gotten more insight into the journals, but I guess it is all part of the grand scheme of things to keep the readers in the dark.
Honestly, this story is getting a bit darker than I expected. I don’t know who to trust (outside of our MCs). Can’t wait for the final book where all will be revealed!

I thoroughly enjoyed Resilient Reign. It was captivating!
As Lucille and Roman's relationship grows deeper for each other, they still need to tread carefully because they don't know who to trust among the people they meet in and out of the palace. Everyone has their own motives, secrets, and reasons for doing things. Sometimes it may seem like they are being helpful, but they are only out for their best interests.
Seriously, this series is getting better and better. It kept me guessing. and just when I thought I knew what would happen until I didn’t.
Ms. Romig does not disappoint as the plot thickens with every chapter. I love her writing style. The pacing of each scene was good, it never dragged. I really was not expecting the twist at the end of this book! Another well-done story by this author! Highly Recommended!

What the hell is going on inside the Molave Palace's halls???
This series is getting even more complicated with each part that is coming into our hands and I am really wondering what will happen at the end... especially, after another one crazy and unexpected cliffy!!!
The royal games are holding well and you don't know who you can really trust in this crazy world!!!
It is very hard and unsure to be a royalty, after all!!!
The betrayals are too many and very unexpected. What is the end game after all???
Will Lucille and 'Roman' discover the truth about their roles and can they manage to get free from the invisible shackles that are bounding them to Molavia???
"Maybe my life was one of a fairy tale.
I was the sleeping princess, and this new Roman was my prince charming.
His kiss was the key to waking."
The story picked up exactly where "Ruthless Reign" left us and the agony was intense to see what will happen next...
Yep, we got some answers, but they were hardly enough to satisfy me, as more questions were rising in the surface...
The only sure thing is that 'Roman' and Lucille are in too deep and I don't know how they can pull themselves out of this crazy situation where they unknowningly stepped into...
My stress levels are insane for their behalf...
"I'm afraid of losing you..."
The only good thing of this mess is their rising feelings for each other...
Yes, Lucille was disappointed by Roman before, but this 'new' Roman is making her heart sing...
As for the prince??? I am really worrying about the fate that is awaiting him... He got himself in a big trouble, but I have faith to him that he can find a way to succeed and to protect the woman he loves...
My only complain is that I would love to see more intensity between these two!!!

I am enjoying the Royal Reflections series very much!!!
The political games are insane, the twists are living me breathless and the storyline is keeping my interest in high levels...
Roman and Lucille are the cherry on the top and I can not wait to finally reach the end of this crazy royal romance!!!
It is frustrating that I don't know who to trust and why... I just need the conclusion to finally reach some kind of peace, even though I am sure that Mrs. Romig will send our way much many crazy curveballs until we reach THE END!!

Aleatha shoots mindf**k to a whole new stratosphere, as she throws the Royal World of Molave in turmoil.
Every chapter is packed with explosive revelations, secret rendezvous, sizzling passions. Readers need to hold on to their seats and hearts as adrenaline rush takes the power of tsunami in this book.
"It’s a mess and a scandal waiting to happen, but it’s real.”
Written with intricate details and elaborate visage, it kept me glued to the pages, till days and nights blended into one. The story has Roman Godfrey stick in Molave. His wife, his father, his family, all cloaked in distrust and doubts.
All the pieces on the chessboard are running blind, King Theo had my trust off and on. Lords and Ladies practicing their own agenda and in the midst is innocent, naive pawn of Lucille.
"he’s resilient, unwilling to accept circumstances and refusing to accept that they’re out of his control."
Of the characters, Roman has grown more impressive as he dodges every curveball Godfreys throw at him. His persona becomes more noble, more compassionate.
He wasn't supposed to rise so well to the occasion but he flew so high, I think Aleatha has lofty plans for him as he passes strenous loyalty tests. Almost like David fighting Invisible Goliath with one arm tied behind his back....in the dark!!
"A man trapped in another life with no one"
It's hard to sum up a book which has a million facets. They all shine brilliantly as Aleatha sheds light on them one by one. The full picture shall emerge in the next book and my gazillion questions shall be hopefully answered
Till then we wait and hope for a dodged bullet!!

Resilient Reign is the second book in Aleatha Romig's brand new series, Royal Reflections, and it immediately picks up after Ruthless Reign. Lucille and Roman are confronted with a dangerous revelation that may cost them their lives. Not everything is what is seems and no one can be trusted. Lucille is shocked, confused, but determined to make things right by continuing on with her role as a princess and wife. Roman is not who he really is but she is already helplessly in love with him. Roman/Oliver is similarly in love with Lucille and he is adamant about protecting her at all cost—even with his own demise. The mystery behind what happened to the real Roman remains a prevalent question throughout the story and is magnified by the fact that there are forces who want all versions of him dead. The book does end with a shocking cliffhanger that will threaten Lucille and Roman's love and happy ending.
In the end, while we are given more questions than answers, Resilient Reign continues on the same dangerous path as Lucille and Roman are forced to confront the royal family's secrets and enemies who want them dead. Once again, Aleatha Romig fantastically builds up the momentum in the final act of the book when Roman is confronted with another version of himself and a betrayal that may cost him his life. I didn’t enjoy this as much as the previous book. Nothing much really happened here. It felt like a filler book tbh.
The people’s fondness of the princess felt really cheesy to me. Also we all know Roman isn’t going to die sir that cliffhanger was just pointless.
The only reason I would continue this series is to find out who is actually who because at this point I don’t trust anyone. Not even the MCs. I mean is the king even the actual king? 🤷🏽♀️

What a beautiful, passionate, sinister web Aleatha Romig weaves. This second book in the Royal Reflection Series really sets the stage with much more deception taking root. Who to trust is front and center along with trying to figure out all aspects of Prince Roman.
Lucille and Roman’s bond and love strengthens in this book but they must rely on each other for trust and hope. At each turn, new relations are uncovered that put their situation in more danger. Where are those that were there before? What of the plans that were put into place that must be deciphered? So many more questions in this second book that still must be answered. I love Lucille and Roman and their found love and commitment for one another. Together they face the challenges and dangers and hope for their happily ever after.

What can I say, the Queen of Cliffhangers has done it again!
Resilient Reign picks up right where Ruthless Reign left off and we are taken on a ride that is filled with twists and turns that will have you wondering, just like Princess Lucille and "Prince Roman" are, who can be trusted. I for one cannot wait to see what happens next.
Princess Lucille and "Prince Roman" are getting closer and that's great because they are going to need one another to hopefully get out of all the craziness that is going on. I mean it when I say you really don't know who can be trusted, you certainly can't trust the King but what about the Queen? Does she really have no idea about what is going on? Only time will tell.
This series needs to be read in the order it is released or you will be totally lost and confused with all the twists and turns that are happening.
I would recommend this book/series to those that enjoy STEAMY Romantic Suspense, Royalty Romances, and if you're a fan of Aleatha Romig's previous work you won't want to miss this one!

Resilient Reign continues the suspense, intrigue, betrayal and surprises that begun in Ruthless Reign. Prepare for another exciting ride when you pick up this second book in Romig’s exciting Royal Reflections series.
I never thought Romig could top the shocking ending in Ruthless Reign. Darn! Was I wrong? Resilient Reign’s ending was twice as shocking and now I am left wondering what more lays in wait for Lucille and Oliver. Although the events of Resilient Reign were not as fast moving as Ruthless Reign, the journey was still exciting and mind-boggling.
It was fun coming back to Lucille and Oliver’s world with its political intrigue and romance. Lucille and Oliver grew closer and with this growth comes an increase in awareness of the dangers surrounding them. Things are not as they appear and they do not know whom they can trust. Secrets, selfishness and the hunger for power tops the agenda of almost everyone who they come in contact with both inside and outside of the palace. It’s good that they had each other’s backs.
Chock full of surprising events, Ruthless Reign left me with more questions than answers. This series comes with many complicated layers. The peeling away of each layer opens the door to more secrets and astonishing revelations. Prepare yourself for moments of waiting with bated breath when turning the pages of this book as the story gets more intense with each chapter.
Once again, Romig delivered a tale designed to keep her readers engaged, entertained and waiting with bated breath for the next book in the series.

I could not wait for this book to get here and now that it has hit my kindle, I couldn't stop reading. NOW IT IS OVER!!!!
Princess Lucille wants to do more for her adopted country. By marrying Prince Roman she thought she would have love and companionship, and be able to help do more for the country of Molvia. But as Prince Roman/Oliver seems to change before her eyes, she learns things that she is not supposed to. As they learn more about what is going on, things are changing before their eyes. And they are growing closer to each other which is not supposed to happen.
Oh, how I wanted to throw my kindle when this one ended. I looked up at the ceiling and said "Oh Aleatha, no you didn't end it there?" But I knew it was going to end with one hell of a cliffhanger that would leave me sitting and staring for a little while. It took a while to write this review because all I wanted to do was say why did you do this, you should have done it that way. But no I would never spoil it for others. Now as I write this review, I am laughing because this is what being "Aleatha'd is all about. This author has a way of dragging you into a story (or you walk willingly like me) and you are so engrossed that you don't know what is happening around you and that cliffhanger will sneak up on you with a BANG!
So grab this one but only after you have read the novella Riled Reign, and Ruthless Reign because you do not want to miss a single thing. I WANT MORE NOW, PLEASE!!!!

This book is the closest I’ve ever gotten to a fairy tale sounding like real life. Apart from all the secrets and schemes behind the Molavian Royal family, there is also the growing love between Lucille and Roman that was so wonderful to read. You are both entranced by the mystery they are trying to solve and enchanted by their passion. I couldn’t ask for nothing better.
Of course we got left with another ground shaking cliffhanger, but I’m certain we won’t be disappointed with the last installment of this trilogy. Now I wait.

Resilient Reign picks up right where Ruthless Reign left off and the country is left in shambles, however the people love their Princess, she seem to genuinely care for the country and the people. But who can Princess Lucille and "Prince Roman" trust.

HOLY PLOT THICKENING!!!!
Resilient Reign picks up right were Ruthless Reign ended and continues on one hell of a suspenseful journey.
As I was reading, I kept coming up with possible theories and each one was tossed aside like nothing. Aleatha has weaved a very intricate and intense story and I am here for it!!
Lucille and Roman's relationship continues to deepen but they are on a dangerous path. I cannot applaud Aleatha enough for her unique storyline and the new plot twists she adds to keep this story alive.
I have more questions than when I started and I cannot wait to see what happens next!!

I was left completely speechless after reading book #1 Ruthless Reign and the Cliffhanger it ending with.
Lucille and Roman/Oliver attempt to unravel the secrets and happenings going on in Molave. Who is real, and who can they trust.
The deeper they dive, the deeper the secrets and deception dives.
One thing remains. The feelings they have for one another!
Gahhhhhhh, Aleatha can weave a powerful twisting and mysterious story unlike any other. I read Resilient Reign in one sitting, and before I knew it was over. I was captivated. Utterly drawn in by this story. I can't wait to read the story as it continues in Ravishing Reign.

I enjoyed this much more than the first.
There was definitely no false sense of security with this one.
Another epic ending means that again I can't comment on the characters, even more so than the last.
We learnt so much in this book, but were also left wondering many more questions.

Lucille and Roman are trying to understand what is going on just as the reader is. The intrigue and alliances are so believable especially in the current climate. Who can be trusted, who is dangerous and how can Lucille and Roman stay together with all the machinations going on. Francis throws a spanner in the works and Isabella seems to know more than she is letting on. Yet again Noah causes the cliffhanger that throws everything into question. Ma’am!! That ending!! I had a lot of questions going into this book and now I have even more. This book is full of twists, turns, secrets, and intrigue that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I should have known it would have ended on an epic cliffhanger since it’s an Aleatha Romig book, but I wasn’t expecting it to be that big. April can’t get here fast enough!

Ok, y'all. I think Aleatha may just be the queen (pun intended) of WTF moments that end a book. And now I have to wait for the next book to find out what happened!! Please tell me I don't have to wait too long!
Resilient Reign picks up right where Ruthless Reign left off. To me, this book focused more on the romance and didn't really get heavy on the mystery and suspense until the last part of the book. While I enjoyed the romance, I'm really hoping for more of the suspense and mystery in the third book because the whole situation has me wondering who is behind everything and what the heck is going to happen next!
You definitely have to read this series in order, so I'd suggest adding Ruthless Reign to the top of your TBR if you haven't read it already so you can read Resilient Reign and freak out over the ending with me ASAP.

If you have not read the first book, Ruthless Reign then you need to not read this review and go do that first. You will be so lost if you do not read that book first.
I had been waiting for this book with such excitement and it did not disappoint. I was all I don't want to say confused in the first book, but I knew some major stuff had to be happening from what we discovered there. Here is where we get to the "meat" of the story so to speak. We all know that Lucille and Roman know that he is the fake prince and that the real prince is missing. This is where I felt really sorry for Lucille because that poor woman has had a few Roman's in her life and had absolutely not a clue that they were being switched on her. My heart broke for her. I can't even imagine the emotions running through her and the things she must be thinking. What a violation on so many levels and if not for the journals they wouldn't have known that our Roman wasn't the only one to be the fake Roman. However now things are getting more serious. The food and goods are in short supply, another country wants to join in with the country they rule over and alliance is being formed behind the scenes and all Roman wants to do is keep Lucille safe. However he is having to make some hard decisions and there are definitely things going one that he has had no clue about until the journal and now he is in a mess I feel like that was not of his making but of the Roman before him. Lucille however is getting to contribute more and not just be arm candy for the Prince. A Prince who was cruel to her is just heartbreaking because she is smarter than anyone ever gave her credit for and she and Roman together might just solve this entire mystery that has been going on since the first book. Gosh I could so go on and one about things in this book but I really can't or I will say something and give away things you need to discover yourself. I want your jaw to drop just like mine did. Or, the wheels in your head running ninety miles and hour like mine. I don't think anyone can ever figure this book out and I love that. I love when a book has me hooked and I just can't figure out how this is all going to play out. I didn't see certain things coming in this book for sure. I didn't know this certain person would be involved in such things and I sure never saw part of the ending of this book coming. To say I am really wanting the next book in my hand is such an understatement. I can't wait to have it in my hot little hands. You guys!!! How is this all going to play out? Will everyone escape unscathed? Will we find out why the real Roman isn't Roman now and what happened to him? So many questions with little to no answers and I am loving it.. No one, and I mean no one writes a good twists you in all kinds of directions and has you hook on every world and your Aleathea'd before you know which way is up!! Do not, whatever you do miss this series. I am loving it so much and can't recommend it highly enough.

This is book 2 in the royal reflections series and I'm fairly convinced that Aleatha must be putting some kind of drug into these books because I told myself I was going to read a few chapters before bed and before I knew what was happening it was 4 am and I had finished.
In this book Lucille and Roman dive deeper into the lies and secrets that have left them in their current position. Lucille and Roman are growing closer now than they have ever been but as they grow closer, they must make hard choices as their priorities shift. Everything hinges on their ability to make the people and the King fall for them as they fall for each other but they have a lot of ground to make up in the court of public opinion especially when certain past events come to light.
Just like book one I was instantly captivated by this world of royal intrigue. Aleatha builds a fantastic dark and deceptive world that will have you second guessing everything and everyone. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, then you need to add this to the top of your TBR though fair warning this one ends on another cliffhanger that will have you salivating for the next installment.
Easily one of my top reads of the month and likely the year. I cannot wait for more!

Aleatha has done it again! She has knocked it out of the park with this book! I couldn’t put it down. You don’t know who’s your friend or foe and who is watching or listening to everything you do. Just when you think you might be seeing the light *BAM* you are at the end of the book and you have been Aleatha’d. I cannot wait until the next book! Don’t miss this series….fantastic!

Resilient Reign continues on from book one, Ruthless Reign, in this Royal Reflections series where Princess Lucille and Prince Roman decide what they can possibly do in their situation—being that it’s a limited choice, it’s very tricky.
The quagmire of just who knows what’s really happening behind closed doors in the royal family becomes even more hazardous for Lucille and Roman. It’s interesting seeing how ruthless King Theo truly is and just what Queen Anne is like too. Mind you I quite like both the king and queen. I really like Roman and Lucille and together they make an amazing couple, their true qualities shine in this book.
There are quite a few twists and turns with surprises that really shake the foundations of everything in the kingdom. Just when you think, no hope might be a more apt word, things will possibly start falling into place—wham! things turn upside down and sideways again. This author truly knows how to end a story right on the edge of an extremely high cliff. Brilliantly plotted.
