Rate this book
In a realm where shadows reign, two sisters are born on the night the old empress dies - one destined to rule, the other fated to betray.

Lorna, a bookish outcast ill-suited for the vicious world of the Shadow fae, finds herself caught in the web of her sister's wicked designs. Desperate to escape, she flees to the Court of Sky, seeking refuge in a strange new world.

But peace proves elusive as Lorna navigates a treacherous landscape of unfamiliar customs and hidden enemies. Haunted by her betrayal and the secrets of her past, she must decide where her loyalties lie and whom she can trust. As the stakes rise and the lines between friend and foe blur, Lorna discovers that sometimes, to fight for what's right, you must first confront the darkness within yourself.

Enter the realm of Fae where Lorna is just the second twin sister cursed with the knowledges she is the reason her mother is dead and she is hated by her sister and her people. Lorna must find the Legion Queen to save the world, but can she?

This flowed well, has characters that you could love and hate and had the betrayals that keep you reading!

I literally never write reviews but I just have to explain my rating. Unfortunately, there were grammar and punctuation errors throughout this entire book. It really took away from the story and made me want to just finish the book instead of enjoy the development of the characters and plot. The fact that missing/wrong words were thrown in, gender mislabing from one paragraph to the next, and at one point a random name (I'm assuming the writer changed the main character's name and missed that one) really distracted me. This book needs a good read through from the author to fix these things to have it flow better. There's one part where it's mentioned the reckoning is 3 days away, then it shoots forward to being tomorrow, but another character refers to a conversation that happened yesterday. I can go on and on, unfortunately. I like to read indie authors, but this just didn't cut it for me, and I'll be taking a break from indie authors for a bit. I guess blame my HS AP English teacher for making me a little crazy about grammar. I hope this writer sees my review and makes the necessary changes so others can enjoy.

Enchanting

From page one I was drawn into the story. As it unfolded, it captured me. The characters are developed beautifully. The settings enchanting. And the last chapter.. I was totally engrossed and need to know what happens next. Highly recommended.

Great Read!

This book is really good. Poor Lorna, always stuck in the shadows of someone else’s desires and greed. I really like Cozette she’s sweet and kind. What happened to Lorna’s dad? I know he was banished but will they reunite in the next book? Obviously Osiris is being made to act like that. But now even I’m questioning honing it. So many questions! I can’t wait for the next book so I can find out. I recommend you read this book. You won’t be disappointed.

I am only giving this a 3 because I did come across a few spelling and punctuation errors HOWEVER they did not distract from the story. This plot is well written and the characters are thought out. Poor Lorna, unable to find true freedom and being able to do something for herself. Even after being free of her sister, she is still forced to find a way to be useful for those around her. I'm curious about Osiris and what his part will be in the next book.

Finally a book not just dialogue

I have been trapped in reading books that rely heavily on the dialogue. This book created a world that tickles more senses than just banter. I gobbled this one up quickly and I am curious what happens next. I hope that the author continues to grow her writing style.

Not the biggest fan of fantasy in general. Was hoping for more romance, but honeslty, just comes off as a reg fantasy bk. Was boring for me.

Realistic fantasy and characters with depth despite the subtlety in portraying them, and that's the beauty of it to be honest. Some twists that I didn't like lol. Not a lot of spice but still good enough without, it would be 6 stars with the spice!
